windows vista-wizard upgrade utility here but.....need help

ok...so i got a windows vista update utility for the HTC wizard ,but now i need help to modefy the utility to work with custom roms....we need to remove the contry id check.etc.....if you know how to do it please contact-me.

no......... but it works with vista with the original rom.

Faria, I dont know how to remove the coutry id check but will be great if you upload it to the ftp for those that have problems(like me) using old ruu in vista.

I have not been successful in getting this to work in Vista OS, so I just created a partition and installed XP as second OS. Hey, it works until bugs worked out of Vista.

RUU from Cingular
I can flash my phone with Vista, with the offical Cingular 2.25 (which uses RUU 2.5.2) ROM. When I replace the nk.nbf, it can't open the file. Maybe this helps. If anyone knows what the RUU looks for in the rom file, maybe we could fix it.

Did you tried tools than enable all buttons of an application ? (I've done than quite a long time ago and it worked) ?

Wrong device upgrade, none of Wm5 is working

Hello! I talked to xplode about this and he had no clue what could it be...

Don't know where is the problem. I have Helmis 1.4 3.5AKU... I have thryed both new WM-s and On both I get the same problem. So if anyone knows help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I got the same error message. I tried to change operater, but that didn't do the trick, so I'm still on the case
Edit: I'm normaly using Windows Vista, but I still have my XP installation, so I tried to boot in XP an run the upgrade from there. This worked fine, so mayby it's a problem with Vista althroug it should work. So my best advice is to try reboot you system, i know it's not alot of people who runs dual boot systems as standart

What WM do you have? Shoud I try to Revert back to Wm2003 and try like that?

I upgraded from Helmi's Aku 3.2 to Xplore's 3.5 R4. If you have the posibility, try to connect your BA to anothor PC and run the update from there, I think it's a problem caused by Windows on the specific pc.

bricked trinity, please help

Hi guys,
I tried to upgrade my trinity and it stopped at 80% with error about connection problem. I've entered bootloader manually (I get:
"TRIN100
IPL-0.50
TRIN100
SPL-1.07.0000")
I then run the updater again, and it fails at %1 every time with "error 270"
How can I restore my device ?

Which updater are you using?
Try a ROM that matched your CID (official HTC Rom if you have a non-branded device).

The crash happened when I tried to update to mUn wm6 rom
Now I've got the same issue (error 270) with all the roms (even the one matching my CID)
The problem is that it says that my device sould be synchronized with activesync but I cannot connect to activesync as it only start in bootloader.

You definitely should've followed other forum member's suggestion to flash HSPL before trying mUn's WM6 ROM... I might be able to help you, though, contact me in private if you want.

I hope your trin will get alive again!!!

stepw sent me a tool he made to flash HSPL from the PC. As he is still working on it, he asked me not to distribute it but I think you can ask him with a private message

A little correction - HSPL was NOT flashed to tonio94's device, unless he flashed it manually.

Attempted WM5 Rom upgrade and got stuck!!!

Hey Guys i would need some help here i downloaded the Helmi upgrade rom but didnt seem to work. i get the device connection error before it even starts
i downloaded the official rom that i found on this forum on this link

as u can c this is the one from the Imate website when i attempted to install it. it actually didnt give me a connection error and started to install but when the PDA rebooted i got that connection error back and now i am stuck at the bootloader screen with SERIAL written at the top and V. 2.06 at the bottom tried to soft and hard reset but nothing seems to happen i even disconnected the battery for 30 minutes but couldnt get it to boot

Do you have an error number?

I run windows Vista and the error number i get is 101 Connection error when i attempt to run BaUpgradeUT
on the PDA the only screen i fet is the bootloader screen with SERIAL and V.2.06

Ok, the problem in flashing our precious BA under vista is that you need to replace the usb driver with an old version so the updater will work correctly.
Search the forums for vista update or vista flash and you will get the answer and the driver you need.

Upgrade to wm6, under Vista Sp1 (32bit)

I am using Windows Vista SP1 (32bit)..I have a wizard (Imate K-jam) spl /ipl 2.26 It has the T-mobile wm5 running on it ... I would like to upgrade to WM6.
It used to be a straight forward process on Windows XP, however now in Vista i am having many errors while trying to upgrade it. I have looked around and found some thread which advice to Run the RUU as Administrator, and others which makes you download some new RUU, etc..
I would really apreciate it if someone could give a step-by-step process for upgrading an out of the box wizard from wm5 to wm6, under Windows Vista. Or maybe point to a thread that solves this issue.

replace the ruu with muns ruu, you can find it in the wiki. Then it should be fine, i have found that when i flash the wizard, i just right click on the ruu_wrapper and click run as administrator then the flash works fine. Make sure you have the latest WMDC installed too
Also have you tried entering bootloader manually then trying to flash the wizard.
Also have you actually CID unlocked it? I am guessing you have though
but you never know

WinXP is highly recommended for flashing,however,its possible with vista,read this guide,hope it'll help :-
