For some reason, starting this morning (have had tilt for couple months) the data is disconnecting and reconnecting all day.
It generally just stays connected all day. I think this is sucking battery life down.
Tilt flashed with HTC ROM
Any ideas ?
Thanks !
UPDATE : it's doing it every 30 seconds, by my count.
UPDATE #2 : it was emoze doing it, turned off "auto fix connection" and it's back to normal. not sure how that got turned on.

Hey there.
I have my HTC S730 for nearly 2 months now.
I don't know why but my Wings plays a strange melody and then turns off.
Even if the battery is fully loaded! After it turned off it takes a long time before i can turn it on again. I can push the start button on the top of my smartphone but nothing happens.
I don't know what it is. I Hardresetet my device 3-4 times now but it's still not working correctly.
Can you please help me?
Did anyone recieve the same "error"?
I have the same error!
But no solution.
It happens sometimes, mosty not logical... I'll wait for a few weeks, if it keeps on i'll go back for warranty!
What are you running when the reboot occurs? Never looked but is there a way to schedule it to do such a thing?
Does it display anything on screen before it happens? You might check in the power options to see if its shutting down due to some setting...
When I have some time I will dig through mine and take a look.
Off the top of my head I would surmise that its either overheating and shutting off, an installed application is causing issues and it is turning off, a setting within the phone is causing it to turn off, or something is wrong with the device.
May be caused by overheating. I have no other applikation installed on my Device since i Hardreset it. It shows up the HTC logo when it shutsdown.
I dont run any applications at all. Sometimes i listen to music with the Music Player.
When i start my phone up again (after some waiting time) it shows me that my battery power is 0. After some time of waiting it shows me that my battery is nearly fully loaded.
It only happens 1 or 2 times per day.
But please help me
It's not overheating in my case.
I saw it happen last time (5 minutes ago), just before the HTC logo is saw a little cross trough the battery indicator. I suppose the battery is not good? After reboot the indicator shows a full battery??
I would give HTC a call about those batteries. I would think that they are bad, or the phone is having issues drawing power from them and so it shuts off.
If its overheating it should be VERY warm to the touch, I have gotten mine warm but never hot after some heavy use, but I just let it cool off afterwards and it was just fine.
Usually with low battery it will flash a warning on screen and make a noise indicating low battery, but if the battery suddenly is in zero the phone could automatically shut off. Does it power off quicker than a normal shut down sequence? I would have thought that the phone would just run until it's instantly cut off by a dead battery, but if its misreading it or reads it in the danger zone it could have an auto shut down.
Had the same thing with my wings/s730.
After hard resetting it it worked fine again.
Hi!
I first noticed this problem yesterday. After turning the device off, I had trouble turning it back on again. It booted, but before showing the Windows Mobile logo, it "crashed" (went black) and rebooted again.
It kept doing this, so I unplugged the battery for a minute, put it back in, plugged in the power cord and then it was fine.
This afternoon I turned my phone off, and right after that tried to turn it on again. No way...
It starts, and the backlight is at 100%. After 2 seconds it shows "smart mobility". 5 seconds later it shows R/G/D with numbers in the right bottom corner. Then after 10 seconds the backlight dims, and nothing happens at all.
I tried charing the battery fully before trying again. I had it both connected to a low power source (USB) and a 220V socket. I removed the battery several times, and tried to reset the device too. I also tried to start w/o battery, but it refuses. I also tried starting with and without MiniSD card and SIM. No difference.
No custom ROM installed. The device worked fine for more than 2 years now. Never had any trouble like this.
Now what?
Thousands of members online, but still no reply at all?
I didn't read your whole post, but, try another battery.

Have you try a hard reset to this point. or re-flashing your device
No, since that would make me lose my text messages. And I hoped you had an idea.

Try another battery then, as ChumleEx recommends. If not, then you will need to perform a hard reset or reflash
I have my htc hd7 for 4 days now and i had no problem with the phone so far except a few hours back, when i left my wifi on (i usually turn it off after using) while i continued with my work on my computer. Suddenly the phone vibrated and restarted itself in front of me, i picked up the phone and felt that the lower back of the phone was quite hot.. Turning off the wifi seems to have allowed the phone to cool and no random restarts thereafter.. Anyone encountered the same?
I used wifi for 4 hours (after that the batt was empty) on my hd7 and it was only a little warm and it didn't reset it self .
No such problem here
No problems here. I leave Wi-Fi on all the time when at home, for many hours sometimes, with no overheating issues or random resets.
Ok.. Must be something else that I did.. Anyway I noticed that the phone has notification LED light for missed called but not for unread text messages. Any1 knows how to enable it?
No problem here either. Use wifi as soon as I get it in range.
Mine does this to. It gets super hot at the bottom especially when wifi is on. Im guess that is where the CPU is or the WiFi chipset. About time to exchange.

I noticed this twice. I plugged it to an ac outlet and it began to sync with Zune on PC. I was adding a bunch of new playlists and after a while I caught it restarting. At first i was excited; i thought T-Mobile had sent out an update or something. picked up the phone to embrace the new goodies and then felt the warmth of the phone.
I turn off wifi now to prevent Zune sync unless I need it.
Hey Guys,
Got my brand new GS5 on Tuesday this week but I've run into a pretty major data connection issue and I'm unable to identify a root cause for it.
Essentially, when I leave my phone on overnight I wake up with no data connection. The wifi is disconnected, and even though my phone shows it is picking up the network, I can't load any sites or do anything using LTE. Additionally, the wifi isn't only disconnected, the wifi function is literally turned off. When I try to toggle wifi back on, the toggle goes a light shade of green, like it's stuck trying to turn back on, and never turns on.
Eventually I have to restart my phone and it works just fine again. This has happened on 2 of 3 mornings since I've purchased the phone and only seems to happen after extended down time for the phone. I'm thinking of exchanging the phone (this would be my 3rd GS5 as the first one didn't recognize any headphones.)
Any ideas? Anyone else seen this?
Thanks!
Hello, XDA developers. As you may see, this is my first post, but I would like you to tell me what happened with my cellphone.
Something weird happened with my S Advance after I rooted it and installed CyanogenMod 11. I was playing on it, as I changed MinFree settings and overclocked the processor and wanted to check how the performance increased. Suddenly, the phone abruptly shut off without showing the traditional dialogue box that should appear.
When I took the phone to connect it to my battery pack I waited for like 5 minutes and the battery symbol never appeared; after that I tried to turn it on but it didn't work either. As soon as I arrived home, I connected a proper charger to the S Advance and, still, it didn't respond at all.
About one hour later I took the phone and now, when I tried to turn it on (in normal and recovery mode), it would only vibrate for a few seconds, as if it was actually turning on - with the difference that nothing was happening. The only boot mode that I could enter to was the download mode.
Saddened because I thought it was bricked, I came to my room and plugged it to my computer. The screen instantly showed the battery charging sign, and when I turned it on everything was normal. I used my wall charger to try, and it keeps working fine.
I understand that when a phone battery reaches 0%, and you try plug it to a charger you need to wait like 10 minutes to actually turn it on. But in this case was an hour! And when I finally turned the phone the battery was at 0%.
Could you tell me what happened (for potential future ocasions)?
