Guys,
I really appreciate if someone can help.Everything was working great with my Tilt for the past 4 months, just installed Kaiser Tweak and SPB Mobile shell like 4 days back, everything was normal over the last 4 days, this morning for the first time I have turned on bluetooth after installing these two applications (as I always do and sync it to my car bluetooth on the way to work), after turning on the bluetooth just made a quick call which did not even last 1 minute and hanged up, then after driving like around 45 minutes,I picked up my phone to notice that it has turned off totally and does not power on, tried soft reset, taking out the batter and putting it back on,no use.I thought for some reason the battery has died (but I just charged it over all night to 100%),so after coming from work I have connected the charger and for the past more than hr I see a red light, which usually will be orange when u connect ur phone to charge, am it still does not turn on,can anyone let me know what might be the problem.
Am thinking of calling at&t,would there be any problem with replacing the phone under warranty if we install Kaise Tweak and change the settings, as it involves the registry settings. Please help
This is actually a common problem:
http://www.htcwiki.com/thread/959604/Steady+red+light+won't+power+up?t=anon
Try this:
"i fixed plug it into the power source without a battery and press the power button it should light up red and then stop then put in the battery and the light shouldn't light up it should go orange but when you put in the battery turn it on the first try it'll prob shut off and go red try it again should work thank me @ [email protected]"

I just called the warranty department, they said they can replace the phone, but it would be a reconditioned phone, am not really happy about it, given my phone is just 4 months old, spending so much money on it,getting a refurb phone is not cool, they said I have to speak to customer service about it.
did any one have any luck in convincing the customer service in sending a brand new phone.
Am thinking,if I can have them send me a new phone, why bother to fix this one
anyone had any luck in getting a brand new replacement phone..if so any suggestions appreicated,in what to talk to the customer service guys..
also btw, does installing kaiser tweak void the warranty?
Hi there i would like to ask that my kaiser is now on red light instead of Orange , is this normal ? please guide me through thanks .

It's not, have you ever considered trying another battery maybe brand new?. Also, 2 threads above yours are some solutions. This has been addressed before, a quick search could give you a lot of answers
just worry this may spoil mine -.- kinda worry.

my light goes red when on real low battery life
but...
when i charge it goes normal
P.S: my kaiser works fine
but when my kaiser on charge is RED it will not go Orange or green for a long time or long hours of charge.
Some people have called that the kaiser red led of death, I did alot of googleing when it happened and found someone fixed theirs by plugging it into the charger, then repeatetly removing the battery on the contacts like 10 times, and the light switched from red to orange.
I tried that myself, as my kaiser wouldn't turn on at all and when plugged in only have a red light, I ordered two different kinds of batteries and they didn't work, and cleaned the contacts for the battery, but this did work for me, it turned on and I recovered all my data.
BUT BE WARNED! when I read it, it sounded crazy, and I was not interested, until i was convinced my phone was dead regardless, after recovering it I did experiance some weaker signal though, but it did turn on again, which was better than before, a nice paperweight

Good to know that you solved your problem and also for telling us the magic word "googling it" = search...
but mine cant solve , thats why helps is needed .
So I'm one of the people that's been having major issues with the red light/ no boot issue.
I think the issue (for me at least) is a hardware flaw. Upon completing the steps to reboot the phone (take case apart, disconnect battery, connect power, wait for battery charge indication, reconnect battery) I can get the phone to boot and function just fine.
I have discovered that upon screwing the battery connection back into the phone, it applies a bit too much pressure on the connection which sends the phone back into the redlite "no boot" mode.
TL;DR, If the battery is connected to the phone too "tightly" with the screws, the issue is caused.
Hardware flaw? I think so.
My Fix? Took out the connecting screws, the connection seems to hold without them and there is no more pressure on the connection without the added thickness of the screws (when putting the back of the case on)
EDIT: Here's a video of what I'm talking about, for those of you who haven't had to deal with this (yet?)

Hey Google/LG, if you're reading this, Send me a new phone, please!! This is unacceptable!
Good find. Maybe you could try packing the back in places so that no pressure is put on the battery

Good Idea, will try it if I encounter this problem again. Seems to hold up, though, even when pressing on the back of the case where the connection is made (down and to the left about 0.5cm from the "n" on the back of the case).
bump--I think people should really see this.
Nice find dude!
I always thought it was a software issue but turns out it is not!
It's still strange that most people have encountered the issue when benchmarking.

Perhaps it's just a coincidence. I'll still stay away from benchmarking, though.

If the finding is true then here my theory on why it happens mostly during benchmarks. When you run benchmarks, your phone and battery heats up a lot. This can cause the connectors to expand causing screws to get tightened.
i can confirmed this find is true, altough its kinda late for me to read this thread.
here is my version.
im a proud owner of nexus 4. got my phone from the 1st batch order, and the original bumper also
this morning while watching my kid at school, got nothing to do but overclocking my nexus 4 with morfic's latest beta kernel.
silly i put the min and max at 1.8++ghz and run an antutu test on it. and in another 5 seconds the N4 turned off and practically dead. all buttons combo were negatives. as soon as i arrived home i plugged in the official charger. it just blinking red. few moments after i plugged in the N4 to my laptop. blinking red and driver installed notification showed up. then the red light gone. like forever... no red when i put it on charger nor when connected to the laptop.
ok its a dead meat. im in JAKARTA n got my n4 from the US. none of any LG service centre in my country could help me with it. and the RMA things just too far from me.
so since i left with zero to none option, i was wondering "what if i take off the battery?"
i remember read an article from ifixit about how to teardown the nexus 4 then i found the link.
here it is:
http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Nexus+4+Teardown/11781/1
what i did was:
1. follow steps number 6 [pictures #1 & #2]
2. number 7 [pictures #1 & #2]
3 and number 9. [pictures #1 & #2. no need do the pictures #3]
4. see the white wire with blue sticky tape right next to the battery? i dont know what is that but i unplugged the golden head off also.
i left it that way for 10 minutes before i put it back all together again [ including the screw battery port holder. just dont screwed them too tight. give a small effort to none power ]
all done and i pressed the power button. its ON like nothing happened before.
when im about to share my fixed in the other thread, i got someone direct me to this thread. so here i am confirming this fixed is legit
Wow!! This fixed my nexus that didn't even have an LED light. You are a life saver!
It's been dead for a week and I was just waiting on warranty. But now it's up and running like a bawse!

This is simply a fault with your phone. Most likely a chip or component isn't soldered correctly or you have a dry joint. When the board is flexed by some force it is breaking or making the connection.
The time will come when even this "fix" for you stops working.
The reason the phone is sometimes failing during stress tests and not coming back on is a safety device. The lithium battery is reporting it is under stress or too hot and the phone shuts down to avoid an explosion. Because there is a big chance the battery is permanently damaged and so potentially dangerous the phone remains in a safety condition wanting to be returned to the manufacturer for testing. Lithium batteries if damaged can explode, imagine if a phone explodes next to your face while you are talking on it? The manufacturers, not wanting a law suit that disfiguring someone might bring, deliberately er on the side of caution.
It's a bit like the limp home mode some cars have when they detect some parameter outside of the norm. You might be able to reset that back to normal by some hack found on the internet but it hasn't fixed the underlying cause.
Regards
Phil

I'm having a similar issue with my completely stock nexus 4. I can only turn the phone on when it is connected to charger, but this is also very rare. If I manage to turn it on, it shows I have -22% battery left and this doesnt change. I can enter bootloader when charger is connected. I have left it charging overnight, but still it doesn't boot without the charger connected.
Any idea if the fix described here can help me? Can LG service somehow see that the phone has been opened?
I live in unsupported country, so I can't send the phone back to Google. My only hope is this fix here or my local LG service, but I'm not sure if my local LG can even help me, because the phone is not sold here.
Ahhh good thoughts. I've got a replacement battery on the way for that reason... Hopefully it's a problem there.

Nexus 4, 8Gb, in UK
It arrived Sat (2 days ago) @ 80% charge & about 5 mins after unpacking I noticed it was the 8Gb & not the 16Gb I had ordered
Phoned google for RMA - currently awaiting replacement.
Repacked it, took it to work, had a play, installed maybe 3 apps, browsed a lot though - reboxed it afterward. as I had no case & as I didn't want to risk the RMA I decided not to take it next day.
Case arrives from amazon & I'm back to work today, so I decided to risk it - nexus battery almost dead & powered off.
Connected charger - nexus indicates charging on screen when power button is pushed.
As I lift the phone to power it on 20mins later, charging display blanks & red light starts blinking - swap cable, charger & check connections - all ok - nothing but a red light on a dead phone.
*panic*
read internet: wasted half an hour on button combos streetfighter would be proud of

"Seems to hold up, though, even when pressing on the back of the case where the connection is made (down and to the left about 0.5cm from the "n" on the back of the case)."
After pressing down around there, the red light clears instantly, small vibration & nexus is now charging again.
Am glad I'm sending this unit back, if replacement does this within 30 days then I will give up on LG & wait for next gphone; between this and the glass cracking issues I read of, this may not be the best nexus ever quality wise.
tl;dr Almost virgin Nexus got red light & unresponsive on first charge. After all else failing, firmly pressing the back, directly above the battery connection area immediately revived it...

So you didn't even take it apart to revive it? Interesting... I haven't had this issue myself in the 2 and a half months with this phone, but nice to know what to do if it arises.
It sounds like it could be dodgy solder joints, although I'm tempted to say that I'm currently ****ting myself. Things like glass cracking doesn't worry me, people are clumsy and that usually will cause that. However, we have no control over the quality of the circuitry inside.
The thing is, the poster above says wait for the next GPhone, it's been announced for next year. So you're going to be waiting a hell of a long time. This phone I hope will suffice while you do so however.

Just got my Zenwatch 3 in the mail from Amazon. No problem turning on, connecting to my phone, then as I watched, the screen went black. Okay, figured maybe the battery wasn't charged sufficiently. Left it on the charger for an hour while I was out. No better. Black screen and nothing I do turns it on. I'm not a newbie to the Zen as I have a 2 that never gave me any trouble. Bought this one for the built-in speaker. Now I'm wondering if it was worth the price.
Any suggestions? I've had it for about 3 hours now and not at all happy.

If all you done is "watch" the screen after turning the watch on and done nothing
else and you cannot turn it on again then you need to send it back to Amazon and
have it replaced.
It's a defective watch.

Hold down the middle and lower buttons until you feel the watch vibrate twice (probably about 30 seconds) as long as the battery is charged. I had one do the same thing the first time I tried to use it.

Did all that. Then called Asus tech support. She had me do it all over again, then told me to send it back to Amazon, which is exactly what I'm going to do. Thanks for the feedback!

Nail on the head [BOOM!] I tried all the usual fixes, tried all the stuff that I found online, called Asus tech support, did all the stuff again under their watchful [see what I did there?] eye, and I've already begun the exchange process at Amazon. Annoying, but what can you do, right?
Thanks for the quick response. I'm going to enjoy being a member of this group.

HUGE mistake sending anything back for "repair " before trying all your options - For those people whose first advise is "send it back" -- point out your level of expertise -
I just had the same problem with my Zen 3 . I had a bad app that drained the watch completely . And the middle button nor the Mid and Lower would bring it back. Called ASUS .. Immediately "Send it back..". Well Frigg you Ying Hao. This is brand new and god knows what other people's problems I'll get when you send me a refurb.
The solutions was EASY.
Plug the power connector to the watch , wait 20 seconds THEN press Middle and Lower. Now the watch HAS a steady power source to reboot.
DONE.
Apps are a HUGE source of problems . 90% of these developers are just selling a pretty face , the inner workings are ****.
Zenwatch 3 not working
I have bought zenwatch 3 on 31st august 2107. It worked fin for 12 days. Today on 13th September 2017, it is refusing to switch on. Even it is not charging. Went to service center they are saying it will have to be replaced which will take a month. And even from where I bought their replacement time has lapsed. Can anyone help me with troubleshooting???
Please help me guys. It is urgent.
Hey guys, can someone help me out?
I just recently bought this gamepad, and it was working wonders on my PC (using it as bluetooth since my ROG 3 Phone hasn't been delivered yet). But here's the thing. Just recently I've tried to reconnect my gamepad via bluetooth to my PC, but there was an error. So I unpaired the gamepad, and tried to pair it again afterwards. But this time, I can't seem to find my Kunai 3 Gamepad anymore on the listed devices.
At first I thought it was just something wrong on the PC end, so I took my phone to check and pair it there. No results, I can't find the Kunai 3 device even on my phone's bluetooth. I know the steps to pair with the gamepad. I tried using the USB mode and it works directly to my PC, no issues there. But the problem still persists that I can't find my device on Bluetooth anymore. Its like it bugged out since that last failed pairing session.
Does anyone here know if I can find a way to reset the gamepad? This might be a software issue. I found a reset button besides the M2 button behind the left controller, but I don't know how to use it. There's no instructions on the manual, even online.
Thank you in advance.
Press the button in the lower left corner on the left gempad, the blue indicator should be blinking. I sent my gepad back, the mounting structures and the lack of plugs for attaching the cover confused me and the unrealistically large size with the gempads connected in my hands is just ugly and inconvenient. Very unlucky gempad and size, if you use only bluetooth, then it's good, but the price is too high. For a phone, this gempad is simply not needed if there is no docking station. But everyone has their own tastes, which are not argued about

I know how to pair via bluetooth, but the issue is even though it's blinking and pairing, the device won't show up anymore. I was wondering if there's a way to reset the gamepad itself.
And yeah, the gamepad depends on the taste of the user. But for me it's pretty neat since I can do touch mapping when my ROG 3 comes around soon.
Noone else has found this issue?
I have the exact same issue, found no fix so far. To make matters worst now I can't even update it to new firmware. When I connect it to the phone it finds the 3.something update starts updating disconnects at the end and when it restarts I get the update again meaning it faild ! Asus told me to send it to an asus repair shop but I can't do that as I got mine second hand because I could not find it anywhere else. And no I did not buy a broken one cause it was working fine untile like 2 weeks ago! In fact when I got it first thing it did was an update and it worked just fine then as well as after until 2 weeks ago
This is a failure. As well as rog phone 3 itself. The screen problem still torments me. Updating doesn't help. The phone cost 1.199 € and the warranty does not recognize a mistake with the screen. I was lucky that I got rid of gempada in two days. Everything that comes from the Asus rog phone turns out to be a failed experiment ... We are not experimental to do this with us ... I will not take anything else from the mobile that is related to Asus, bitter experience and disappointment in endless expectations have already been enough for me ..

I have no problem with the phone, the phone is actually grate for me so far, it's better then anything I've seen. Don't know about the other accessories to it (cause everything is out of stock and I can't get them) but I'm disappointed in the Kunai 3, not only because of the problems I have with them but also the fact that they feel really cheep and there is almost no support regarding them!
I had the same issue. The fix for me was to take an apostrophe out of the phone's name. I had it as Name's ROG Phone 3. Changing it to Names ROG Phone 3 made it pair straight away.
You are a life savior man
Been making me crazy for a few days now.
And yes-changing the name of the phone fixed this bugger.
