How to enable Bluetooth HandsFree mode on Vista? - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Can someone verify for me if Handsfree mode is available on Vista after they have connected thir HTC Kaiser?
Teh only options I have under Bluetooth Devices - Phones and Modems - HTC Tilt - Properties - Services:
- A2DP
- Active Sync Bluetooth Service
- DUN
- Filte Transfer
- Headset Audio Gateway
What I am trying to figure out is also how to enable HandsFree there too. If I pair my Jawone or Motorola S9 to the PC, it allows for HandsFree.
So what do I need to do to get Handsfee showing for a Bluetooth to PC paired phone?
Thanks!

You can't use your phone as a handsfree device! At least not with any software I know of. I suppose it would be possible to emulate one, but honestly, the kaiser is not particularly fun to hold in your hand, why use it as a handsfree headset?

Caller ID via Bluetooth to Vista
The end goal is to be able to receive Caller ID notifications on my Laptop. So if I add my HTC as a Handsfree device, I should get Caller ID's to popup so I dont always have to grab the call.
I could have sworn this worked for Apple systems, and also PC systems. The phone sends over the caller id info via bluetooth.

Caller ID not working with my Parrot Bluetooth

Hows it going folks,
I was wondering if anyone has any fixes for the caller id over bluetooth. I tried it with and without the jetware program but the CID just doesn't seem to work correctly on the parrot display. Everything else over BT seems to work perfectly though. I hope someone has input for me.
Thanks
ILL
I don't know how the parrot works, but with my Pioneer BT-980 (I think that's the model #. It's the one with BT built-in) car stereo, it will only show the number, not the name, until I beam each phonebook entry to my cat stereo first. Once I beam each phonebook entry to my car stereo, then it shows the caller's name and number on the head unit. Maybe you need to do the same with the parrot?
search for jetware bluetooth.
a very interesting application that sends Caller ID(name) to your bluetooth device.
Works on tytn ii.
I have the Parrot 3200 and I get caller ID plus name announce when receiving a call.
I get name announced too on a CK3000 Evo.
But I'd like to know if someone managed to get the parrot to trigger the Kaiser's VoiceCommand (currently it just use the kit's internal voicetags memory)
Also, when I make outbound calls... my caller ID is hidden (no matter what settings is applied on the Kaiser)

Neat BT stuff

Hi;
Didn't find too many threads about the neatness of the Kaiser BT with certain devices. Though my main memory gets still eaten up like ther's no tomorrow I played a little bit today during lunch-time.
1.) External speaker/handsfree set:
I bought a blueant supertooth light since we have several phones in the family That's the most convenient way to have a mobile handsfree and no wires and literally NO installation.
Enable BT at the Kaiser, use BT-Audio (attached) and re-route device speaker output to the bluetooth handsfree speaker.
Voila, the TomTom Lady is talking to you load and clear. Eats up some battery but for that you have a car charger - NEAT!
Should work with popular motorola T305 and others as well.
2.) Car with AUX/iPod input:
Get an A2DP bluettooth kit (I have the i-tech clip R35) get a male/male 3.5 mm jack cable (preferable a little longer that you can use the mic), connect to the car. Not only that you can listen to the music stored on the kaiser through your car stereo ... call comes in, take call and listen through your speakersystem OR listen to regular radio or music, call comes in, press aux at your radio and ... talk.
NEAT - Thought I should share this!
doesn't seem to want to work for me. i get a " failed to enable BT audio" window when i try to use it
Could have a better user interface, I agree.
Do you use an external BT speaker/microphone or do you try to use AUX for your car stereo. If you use the car stereo NOTHING is required as long as you have an A2DP bluetooth set with external earphone jack.
With the car kit these are the steps that worked for me:
Enable BT in CommMgr?
Click BTAudioToggle
Click BTAudioOn
I put shortcuts in my menu one could even write a script or macro...
doesnt work for me
Post your config and what you did/do perhaps I can help
same thing as post #2,unzipped to SD, make shortcut, tried shortcut and direct file and both gave that error message
What speaker/headset do you have?
If it is a headset is it A2DP compatible?
jabra bt5020,dont think it's compatible
Hmmm
Bluetooth compliance: Bluetooth version 2.0 specifications
Supported Bluetooth profiles: Bluetooth headset and hands-free profiles
Try the following:
- Soft reset after you disabled bluetooth (to have a clear starting point)
- Enable bluetooth
- Check if it is connected
- Open settings
- Tap and HOLD on your headset
- Set as handsfree
- Set BTAudio ON (don't use the toggle)
- Open TomTom or whatever gives you some voice commands and check.
If it doesn't work ... well it doens't work with your headset ... sorry
If you REALLY want the function buy an itech or so for ~ 26 bucks

Kaiser as a pc headphone ?

Hi !
I know we can use a pc bluetooth profile to use it as a headphones/handsfree for the kaiser (listening music on the PPC, earing sound on the pc), but is it possible to do the same in the other side (pc sound redirected to the PPC) ?
It's because my laptop headset plug is broken, I'd like to do this... Pairing my PPC and plugging my headset in it is not a big deal, but it is just possible ?
Thank you for your answers
is if your phone show up as audioGate way profile on your laptop of cause not all pc bluetooth models support it
You need a Bluetooth driver for your PC that supports using the BT audio protocol, in other words it enables seeing your PC's Bluetooth as a soundcard.
Many don't provide this with their BT drivers, but if you have it then I can confirm that it works!

[Q] Auto connect A2DP

Is there an app for android to automatically connect A2DP when the handsfree connects?
I used to use an app called autoA2DP on win mobile.
At first pairing it connects both a2dp and handsfree, after that only handsfree connects automatically, any help would be appreciated as it's already driving me nuts....
Thanks!
- Anthony
Go to bluetooth settings, long press on the device in question, then options. Make sure Phone and Media are both checked.
Yep, they are... I can manually connect a2dp from both the car stereo and the phone, it just doesn't happen automatically like the handsfree does, had the same prob with windows mobile, but an xda dev user here developed autoA2DP to watch for a handsfree connection, then activate A2DP.
I don't know why yours is different, but mine auto connects for both every time I turn my Bluetooth headset on.
It does vary between headsets a bit. My Jabra Halo's connect automatically when I power on the phone or the headset. On the other hand my JBL Reference 610's had to be connected manually every time.
Still it seems odd though that is connects in handsfree and not A2DP, I always thought it was all or nothing. When a device connects it gives all available profiles and the phone decides what to accept. I don't know, sorry.
I have the same problem.. it does not auto connect with my car's bluetooth. The only way it auto connects is when I have the discoverable mode on (which has a limit of 116 secs or so). So an app that lets you be discoverable all the time would be great!

Same problem but reverse. My phone connects automatically to my phones music everytime i switch it on, however the more important headset/phone functions do not. I must manually disconnect and reconnect the stereo from within the phones bluetooth settings for both to work. Have looked through hundreds of threads found loads of people eith the same problem, yet no solutions. Would love an app to just disconnect and reconnect the bluetooth the moment it detects a paired device in range.... as yet found nothing...
Well... I'm getting the same.
I have LiquidAUX on my car and to have both phone and a2dp synced, I have to restart phone BT and LiquidAUX every time I go into car. And most of the times I can only have 1 connection each time, or phone is on and a2dp is off or a2dp is on and phone is off. It's really annoying since I had an HTC Hero with Android 2.2 and it used to work with no problems...
Hi guys,
Before one month I buy HTC Desire android and I have problem streaming audio through Bluetooth. I have connected the phone with my car and they are paired. Every time when I go in the car my phone is connected to the car Bluetooth automatic, but I'm not able to run A2DP.
I'm with latest Runney rom, before that I tested with MIUI XJ, but no success with both.
Can some one tell me if there is rom without these 2 issues - bluetooth auto connection and a2dp.
Thanks

Bluetooth Widget (A2DP & HSP quick connect)

I find the following app very good to quickly connect to multiple headsets/speakers
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sflab.bluetooth
ie. @ home i have a D200 creative speaker
instead of going into bluetooth settings.. just click the widget and its connected!
Cons: sometimes the widget does not respond.. but give it some time.
Updated Version of above:
One click - Connect 2 Specific Bluetooth device for A2DP and Phone app:
Bluetooth Pair
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gnssoftworks.bluetoothpair
found it very useful for swapping bluetooth headphones between devices WITHOUT turning off Bluetooth entirely or going into the settings menu.
Example Use Case:
I have one Stereo Bluetooth headset with mic (two profiles - phone and A2DP audio)
I have one Android Phone and one Android Tablet.
Phone Profile is always connected to the Android Phone, but the A2DP audio changes depending on which device you want to listen to music from.
Normally, if you want to listen to audio from the Tablet when your headset's A2DP profile is connected to the phone, you'd have to first go to the settings menu of the phone, and disconnect the A2DP, leaving Phone Profile connected. Then go to the settings menu on your tablet and connect the A2DP only.
Then you'd have to do the opposite if you want to listen to audio from the Phone again.
Takes a long time.
With Bluetooth Pair, you can specifically connect or disconnect to a specific device and specific profile (phone / a2dp) by widgets.
So you won't have to turn off the bluetooth completely on one device just to allow your headset to connect another device. Nor do you need to go into settings anymore.
1.) Just tap on the A2DP device specific widget on the phone to disconnect, the A2DP Profile from the phone
2.) go to the Tablet, and tap on the A2DP device specific widget to connect the A2DP profile of the headset to the Tablet
Two taps!
