Hello all
When I turn on my Tytn 2 it will come to a point were I have to enter my pincode - that's nice so noone can use my phone without the correct code. BUT if I at that point select "cancel" the Tytn 2 will just continue loading (not the phone function) but you will still be able to look in my calender and all the other stuff on my Tytn 2...
Is there a solution to this "problem" - I mean what I want is that it's not possible to start up my Tytn 2 unless you have the correct pincode...
Please help ;-)
Go to [Start]-> Settings -> Lock. Check the box [x]Prompt... and set your password. This is a windows password, separate from your SIM pin. This will prevent someone from using the PDA portion.
Note, they can always hard-reset (wipe) your device and use it afterward, but at least all the data will be gone.
Thank you

I removed O2active according to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=33687. Now a few things are going wrong with my XdaIIi. I have no more connetions - my phone shows no service, and the option to turn on wi-fi is no longer present when I touch the atenna icon at the top. Also if I go into WLAN, everything is greyed out.
ALSO - my unit just resets itself approxiamtely every 20 min, for no apparent reason. This is really frustrating - any suggestions?
Hard reset your phone. When the 2i asks what type of user you are, select corporate and enter the code 0506. Download and install the O2 settins cab which can be found in the networking forum.
If you have a look around you will also find a ROM update with the O2 stuff stripped out. This has the updated radio stack with it too. You will still need to install the settings cab though.
Don't forget to back up your contacts and personal files first though.
Good luck,
Pug.
I am using Balckberry connect to get my company e-mail and they pushed a policy out to automatically lock my device if unused for 30 minutes. It will not allow me to turn it off in the Blacberry security icon. It is greyed out. Is there a way to disable this lock from happening? Thanks! you guys rock!
Wondering the same thing....
I want to use the WM6 lock instead.
Corporate lock
I handle email for a fortune 100 company. I do blackberry and WM. There is no way to disable this once the policy is set. You can wipe the device which will of course remove the policy but you have no email. This is true in both cases. Only your blackberry or WM admin "could" disable the policy for you as a person.
Thru another post I have discovered that you can override the "lock" by stopping the "BlackBerrySecurity" services. However if you disable the service BB Connect will not startup. So you are forced to let it load after a soft-reset and then stop service and you will need to repeat this after each soft-reset.
Can someone post how to actually stop the BlackberrySecurity service?
Thanks!

Click to collapse
It CAN be done.
1. install MemMaid and run it.
2. click on the Icon that looks like on old windows symbol with an arrow in front of it
3. along the top click on the down arrow next to 'Startup items'
4. select 'Startup Services'
5. select BlackBerrySecurity and press the Stop button
6. close MemMaid
7. NEVER tell anyone from your IT dept!
You need to complete this after every soft reset.
OK, Cool. Did that. Now can't seem to get the WM6 lock working. Settings, Personal, Lock is not responsive. My goal was to still be able to lock the device, but have the touch friendly pin entry of WM6 instead of the crappy blackberry version. Is this possible?
Phone dies....
I have been using BlackBerry Connect on my HTC Kaiser for quite a while now. It took a bit of time to get it set up initially and then again when I installed a new ROM and had to reinstall it. Anyway after these initial gremlins it has worked perfectly.
However..... A couple of days ago I switched on my phone (from sleep) and was presented with a screen telling me I must set a password - this was the BlackBerry Security Lock that has somehow been enforced (no idea why this wasn't pushed down previously?). Anyway I set the password as there was no other option (eventually as the password had to be of a certain complexity). This is a big PITA as I use TomTom Navigator and every 60-minutes (maximum delay that can be set) I am presented with this annoying Unlock screen. After a bit of searching I found the 'hack' on here to disable the BlackBerry Secruity Service and initially I thought this solved the issue (or at least bypassed it).
The last 2-days however I have been stuck with a dead phone when it has been 'asleep' in my pocket - the top left LED flashes to indicate the GSM radio is working but I cannot switch the phone on nor does it ring or do anything else when a call is received. If I connect it to my PC Or a charger the GSM LED lights to indicate it is charging but it won't switch on. The only option is to hit the reset button. I can only think the reason for this is the BlackBerry Security Service is stopped and the 60-minutes have elapsed? I am not sure though, but before this policy was enforced I never had this problem.
I am loathed to call the IT dept as they don't officially support BlackBerry Connect (I have a brand new BlackBerry Pearl in a box unopened...). Is there anyway to reset the security policy but leave the BlackBerry Security service running? Or any other way to restore the previous behaviour? Having a phone that doesn't ring sort of defeats the object of the whole thing doesn't it?

Hi all,
just wondering.... everytime i sync my device to my pc, i always get a message on screen that says please unlock your device, even though it isnt password protected. I figure this is an activesync issue. Ive had a look at the setting options on both the pc and TyTyn II and cant seem to see any option for turning this off.
Ive done a search but cant seem to use the right set of key words...all i get is pages and pages of info on unlocking my phone ...Fustrating.....
Any help?
Thanks
i dont think they mean password lock, they mean a standby lock or maybe even the powerdown button
If you are syncing thru Exchange 2007 there is a activesync policy that regulates that password.
To remove it you will have to change the activesync policy on your exchange 2007 server.
since i setup my exchange sync, i have issues answering the phone.
i do have the S2U and when the pop-up for the caller id comes on, the phone wil not take any input. i deactivated the S2U, but still, i do not get the regular caller id picture. the phone it's just locked...
something is screwed up..
but is there a registry entry that could be modified?!
Hi guys, I am posting here just to solve one issue of my father's diamond.
I have one raphael, my father got a diamond, and it is different on provider informations.
My raphael automatically detects the provider's configuration, installing it on connections, I tryied it with my father's diamond, and his diamond doesnt take the provider's information, I dont know why. So, I have just configured it by my hand manually, using the necessary informations, all ok, it worked fine, he can work on internet, but the problem is that all times he power on his phone, come the warning that is trying to take provider's information, and automatically goes to the connections on settings tab, its a warning, I think that the cell phone doesnt detect that it is manually typed, and try again with a global icon on hardware's tasks.
Once I have already configured it, I would like to KILL this warning, he is a big disapointed with it, that appears sometimes.
Thanks for now
Hi....first of all...I am not an expert! I think the solution might be to go to 1) Settings......2)Connections and click on the connection setup symbol, (if you have it) this should set it up for you.....hope this helps

the last answer:flash the other rom
