HTCCalendar cannot be opened. - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

I installed SoftKey.cab to try to program my soft keys they way I want, and being a dork I didn't backup first.
Now, when I click the Calendar Softkey, I get this error popup window:
"The file 'HTCCalendar cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file."
I uninstalled the softkey, and still get that error.
I'm on a Tilt, stock rom. Several apps installed.
If I go go Start, select Calendar, my calender launches.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

The location for editing the today soft keys is: HKCU/Software/Microsoft/Today/Keys/112 & 113.
Go into the shortcut that will launch (i.e. the start menu) & look at the shortcut properties. Then go to the location I gave you above & edit it with the correct target location. It will only be one of the above (112 or 113), the other is for contacts.

Thanks so much. That did it.
And, FYI...I may have been saved by the Safe Boot from my SPB software. I had forgotten that I had reinstalled the Soft key cab, thinking maybe some tweaking with it needed to be done (that was when i determined that in fact the Calendar goofed up even with it installed).
Anyway, after making the registry change and rebooting, my device booted up to black screen. I rebooted again, and it said Unlock at bottom, but had the Windows logo during reboot still up. So I rebooted again, went into safe mode, and uninstalled the Soft key cab. Now I'm working correctly again.

Help: Activesyn crashed during .cab installation

This is the second time this happened to me. The first time I remedied the matter with a hard reset.
I recently upgraded my ROM to the 2.24 version (thanks by the way). This evening I was installing a number of third party programs on my 8125 when I had one program not install. After that, I lost my activesynce connections (I was still connected but I could no longer sync and all of my contacts, emails, etc. were not showing). Also, I am unable to install (or remove) any .cab files. When I go into my settings > system > remove programs, NO programs show up there. Last night, the programs I had installed were there.
I have soft reset my device and rebooted my computer. Nothing happened. I deleted my device on both my computer and on the 8125 and resynced but nothing happened. The last time this happened I tried the install / unitstall process of Activesync and could never get it working.
I am just sick about this.
Can someone tell me why I can no longer install or remove .cab files and why my programs do not show up in the 'remove programs' screen?
Thanks
Adding to my post...
I should say that I have Activesync 4.2 beta installed. I also note that in the Settings > System > Remove Programs it shows "Total storage memory available: " In other words it shows nothing.

Sprite restore problem

I had my Kayser (TYTN2) repaired (it lost 3g connectivity).
Before sending device to approved repairer I made a backup using Sprite 6.1.
HTC replaced mainboard. I restored image from backup and now it tells me
"Incorrect password".
1. It is the same ROM, I checked
2. I do type correct password
My guess is that for whatever reason backup-restore did not drop off "password is on" flag in the registry, like it suppose to do (based on Sprite FAQ).
Could someone help me with either how to make it recognise correct PIN, or set flag to OFF, or reset PIN to some default value.
Thanks in advance.
I had the same problem, I was trying to restore using the .exe file but it didn't work.
I then reinstalled sprite backup and restored through it, and it worked fine.
Thanks. I will try it.
Did you reinstall it on you PC or on your device?
I tried to restore using PC installed Sprite - "Invalid Password" reponse
and from EXE uploaded to MicroSD card - it does restore and hangs showing HTC logo.
But EXE option allows for various options. With System Databases, System Settings, File System switched OFF - it worked, but it was not what I needed.
I will keep playing with settings for a while.
Whenever you do this, make sure you are using it in Upgrade mode. Since knowing that I haven't had to do any fixing on new device restores. You can access upgrade mode through the Sprite Advance Mode options.
There are several upgrade settings.
I've set it to "Safe restore" and "Restore Databases" and "Prompt for upgrade"
Also I choose to "Delete all files" and unchecked "Restore Security settings"
It hangs again showing HTC logo.
I keep will keep playing for a while ...
I don't know what version you're using, but if you go to Option, advanced settings, Options, Restore Options & Check "Enable Device Upgrade Mode" before you restore to a new device or ROM it has always worked for me.
Thanks!
I tried nearly every possible combination of upgrade settings and got three results:
1. Wrong Password
2. Does not boot
3. Boot without file system and registry.
I gave up - reinstalled everything. Now I am waiting for activation code for CoPilot - it refuses to activate on another mainboard

Microsoft Update KB958639 causes reboot loop

last thing i attempted to install via ActiveSync is the Microsoft WM Update - KB958639
now my kaiser is rebooting after i enter the startup pin password.
it doesnt seem to have installed the update. it loads the today screen with manila 2d and then begins the cab install process but then resets. it keeps doing this.
i can still sync with outlook/active sync, access files via the PC, etc. if i dont put in my password on the phone to unlock it...
i tried to delete the update from the \windows\appmgr directory but it tells me access denied.
any other way i can remove these files or stop the installer from loading during the next reset? i'm lookin into a reg location that it might have startup entries for this sorta thing...
ok nm, i solved it. the ActiveSync add/remove programs tool allowed me to uncheck the app from install. was weird, cus before it was already uncheck.... oh well all is well

HELP - FTtouchFlo ERROR

A few months ago, I installed the CUBE. I uninstalled it a while back. Ever since then when I do a hard/soft reset, when the phone comes back online I get the following error:
"The file 'FTtouchFlo' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file."
Also, when I go to Start --> Programs...I have 3 SCLPF folders, each with Cube Settings Icon inside. There is a SCLPF settings folder as well. I can't delete them, can't find them in a search (on the phone or through active sync). The cube and TouchFlo are not in my "remove programs" settings either.
Can someone give me a clue? I want to get rid of these folders and the annoying pop up error i have been receiving upon start-up. Thanx in advance for your help!
I've got the same Problem, dosen't anyone know how we can delete this Problem?
At first Sorry for my bad english
you most likely have an entry in your startup folder for FTouchFlo:
Check here:
C:\Windows\Startup\

gx or gx.dll

I need help I've tried some many things to fix this problem and searched also, to no avail, And I'm hoping that someone here could help. My tilt has been running fine, but recently when i restart i get a gx.dll message saying
"there is no application associated with "gx", run the application first......"
Ans this is on start-up , i even went and all my itemes out of the start up folder in windows, to no avail.
Thanks
hard reset.
I've noticed this same file popup in my start menu here and there on my Tilt. I think it is created by a program file. Maybe one running out of the start menu folder directly, unlike a shortcut. Maybe a program file put in your startup folder? I just hypothesize.
