Youtube VideoBundle/Video Loader Can't play - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

I have: Ruu_Signed_Duttys_WM6.1_5.2.19700_Hybrid V2_1_65.14.06[No_CubeV2]
I click on video sites and go to youtube full
I'm connected to "MEdia Net (EDGE)"
I select any video to play
The icon starts spinning
And usually it gives me a "Server Timed out: 74.125.15.31" or a "cache.youtube.com" error
I've gotten it to work before when it was connected to my computer which is connected to the internet, but after that my phone would connect to the internet but it would never load any pages, I couldn't revert it back to it's previous state so I re-installed Duttys ROM and started fresh again
EDIT: It appears like I can actually get sound and video through google video but when I try youtube TC loads up but says it couldn't find video
then after that I tried a different video and got "Server Timed out: 74.125.15.20"
Is something wrong with my settings?

Can anyone help me?

Are you trying to watch something that might require you to be logged into youtube? Also try going to the linked page.

Try installing this Cab and See what happens.
http://www.4shared.com/file/45995493/d58b228c/TCPMP-072RC1-ARM-PPC-recomp-01.html

I can't get mine to connect with the AT&T proxy enabled either. I get the same result. If you uncheck the box saying this "this network uses a proxy server to connect to the internet" under Proxy Settings in connections, mine works....
Also I get an error if I try to connect when Blackberry Connect is running. In case you run that. I have to manually suspend it even though I am using a cooked rom that allows multiple connections...

Yeah for some reason TCPMP doesn't hold open the connection either. I think It uses the Data Connection Differently.

Could it be possible AT&T blocked traffic from youtube? I use to view youtube video flawless while on 3g. But right now i can't even watch a full length of the video on 3g network , but on wifi i can watch full length of the video with no problem.

Using ATT iPhone SIM on Kaiser email problem

I am having a problem reading my POP3 email.
The Kaiser configured itself to ATT (with the iPhone SIM) and the connection appears as MEdia Net
Connection to the Internet (Explorer) Works OK and I get the H connection. I am in Los Angeles.
However when attempting to read my email (Shows 3G) I get a "cannot connect with current connection setting" and gives me the option of going to Connections settings Where I get MediaNet or My Work Network. (It is set to go to MediaNet I believe)
I know the POP3 settings are correct as they work great via WiFi.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
yes change medianet to My Isp wap.cingular settings and everything will be fine.
the settings are:
wap.cingular
username: WAP.CINGULARGPRS.COM
password: cingular1
THANK YOU.
My ISP connection was auto set by the Kaiser to
isp.cingular
username: ISP.CINGULARGPRS.COM
Per your suggestion I changed ISP to WAP and all seems well
Thanks again

Help with internet sharing/tethering on Vista

OK so I thought I was halfway intelligent about all this but apparently not. I can't seem to get my internet sharing to allow me to tether on my new Tilt. I had it working fine on my Sprint Mogul so I know theoretically how to do it. I have the stock AT&T ROM (allowed customizations; just lazy about figuring out what I'd need of the customizations so I live with the bloat).
I created a shortcut for IntShrUI.exe in my \windows\start menu\programs folder to start the internet shar. I start Internet sharing and select USB and AT&T ISP GPRS (or MEdia Net; same result). It says connected and doesn't give me any errors but I can't seem to connect to anything from my PC or even ping anything. I'm using a Windows Vista PC. While internet sharing is connected I can connect to the web on the phone itself but not from the PC.
I was originally on "PDA Personal Max UNL + 1500 Messages" but I couldn't seem to connect to ISP.CINGULAR and I thought maybe that's why I couldn't tether (and I thought it'd probably prevent me from connecting to my corporate VPN). So I called in and the tech guy said that plan isn't provisioned for ISP.CINGULAR so he switched me to the "older" (his words) PDACnctUntlAdd which is the same price and includes ISP.CINGULAR but not 1500 messages. In hindsight I'm guessing that's not my problem (especially since it didn't fix it) and I'll prob go back to PDA Personal Max with the 1500 messages once I figure out the tethering and assuming it allows me to VPN.
My settings are:
AT&T ISP GPRS
Modem:
APN: isp.cingular
Username: [email protected]
Password: CINGULAR1 (doesn't show it but found that online)
Domain: blank
Advanced Settings:

Use IP header compression: not checked
Servers: User server-assigned IP Address
Proxy Settings:
This network connects to the Internet: checked
This networks uses a proxy....: not checked
I've tried to do it with the proxy disabled (running Disable Proxy from programs) and with it enabled with the same result.
So what can I be doing wrong? I'm sure it's something supremely stupid (if it's not a provisioning problem but how could it be that?) but I can't for the life of me figure out what I'm doing wrong.
Any help greatly appreciated and let me know if there's anything else you'd need to know to get this working.

So your device says connected (and can surf the web) but your laptop wont connect?
So is your laptops firewall blocking the network?
Have you tried it over bluetooth, and use the BT PAN option. Select BT in ICS and click connect, and click YES to allow it to be discoverable, then in Vista, click start, connect to, Then click Set up a network or connection. Then scroll down to the bottom option (BT PAN). Click it and it will offer your device's BT PAN, select that and click connect.
Wait for 30 seconds, then open the web.
Solution from ATT-Connect your Laptop/PDA
Here ya go! Tried it myself with the usb. Workin good-ATT has a comm manager app that installs on the laptop.
Here's the link to the ATT support for it.

Thanks for your help; hadn't thought of turning off firewall since it worked with the mogul without doing that. Tried that and it didn't work. Then tried with bluetooth and that didn't work either. Didn't want to use the ATT comm manager on the off chance that they could track tethering usage on it.
And of course it was a stupid thing not to check but something made me try connecting to an IP address and not a URL and BAM! it worked. So I guess I have a DNS problem and not a connection problem.
So now anyone have an idea why the laptop can't resolve DNS but the Tilt can? Should I manually set free public DNS servers on the Tilt? Or on the laptop?
Vista you said? correct?
Try making the network that Vista sees when you connect-private; if it's public,it'll block stuff
Yeah, it's already set to private. Still no DNS resolution. I'm going to try using a free public DNS server on the PC. Strange that the Tilt isn't passing thru DNS for me but it seems it is for everyone else.
Well using the free DNS servers (208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220) seems to work now and it even seems to resolve DNS faster. I feel better that I figured out how to get it to work but I'm definitely confused as to why it doesn't work by default like it does for everyone else.
get tethering working yet?
hi,
i have the same issue. have unlimited data plan on my tilt. no problem with connection on my tilt (although i did not put in all that proxy setting crap att asks you to put in).
anyhow
- installed the htc modem driver on my laptop.
- turned on the modem on the tilt
- created a new dialup connection on my xp laptop
---> question here, what is the "phone number" that should be dialed???
--> for [email protected], password is CINGULAR1 also
as a last resort i will try using the att comm manager, but like you i don't really want to do it due to any tracking att may be doing...
would be great to hear if loading that local dns resolves your problem, altho it seems kinda clugey (sp?)
lol-
ya'all kill me.
Anything at all, including data; going through any major network in the U.S., is tracked- period. Cell calls, data, internet connections, and even landline calls are ALL tracked in the U.S. now. Thanks to the current administration, EVERYTHING is tracked.
Alemaker
I meant tracked in terms of tethered vs non-tethered (not being on a tethered plan; but then I tether about once a month when travelling in airports if that so I'm not worried about it). I know big brother is always watching (especially on AT&T):

@jprai I did get tethering working by just changing my DNS settings on the laptop to free servers. I'm not using wireless modem but the Internet Sharing app on the PocketPC (go to \Windows and copy the shortcut "internet sharing.lnk" to your \Windows\Start Menu\Programs directory and then you'll be able to start the app easily). It's much easier to use (well now that the DNS issue was figured out).
I'm still very curious why DNS isn't working for me with the default settings and it does for everyone else but I'm OK with this work-around for the time being.

This did the trick for me, thanks!
For those not fully aware of how to do this, connect your phone with ICS, go to network connections (control panel->network and sharing center->manage network connections), right click on the phone's connection (hover over them if you're not sure about which is which... mine said NDIS something or other), go to properties, click on TCP/IPv4, go to properties, and then give it the DNS addresses listed above.
Thanks!

Wing, WiFi and http proxies

Folks,
I have a US TMobile Wing, WM6, and I am having problems with WiFi connections that use proxies. At work, we use a corporate HTTP proxy to access the internet.
The wing settings are as follows, WiFi connects to work, My Work Network has the proxy server set in the Advanced tab. I have been looking in the registry of the device (under HKLM\Comm\ConnManager\Providers\{7C4B...}), and as soon as the WiFI connects, the HTTP proxy I set gets marked as a null proxy (type 0). When the WiFi disconnects, the proxy entry in the registry is returned to its original type 1 (HTTP).
Anyone has any idea what I can do to prevent the proxy from being changed by the WiFi application? Is there a way to get hold of the WiFi connection application from a WM5 device to try it out?
Thanks in advance
V

T-Mobile Tzones Connection DEAD!

Cellular (GPRS)
-Access Point Name: wap.voicestream.com
-Proxy server: 216.155.165.50
-HTTP should be 216.155.165.50 port 8080
-WAP should be 216.155.165.50 port 9201
-Secure WAP should be 216.155.165.50 port 9203
Those are the connection I'm using right now. It use to work, all of a sudden, when I connect to internet explorer, this pops up
HTTP ERROR: $CODE$
$MESSAGE$
REQUEST URI=/M
still working for me. reset and all that jazz

try port number 8080 for wap and secure and socks ip is the same but port 1080 and mine never fails.
still doesn't work
Similar issue
I am having a similar issue with my Dash. I am using the tmobile proxy and I get the HTTP ERROR: $CODE$ $MESSAGE$ REQUEST URI=/ error when I installed Palringo. Once I installed Palringo I started getting the error in PIE, but Palringo worked fine. I uninstalled Palringo and I PIE works again.
Also, I get this error when I attempt to share the tmobile proxy with my pc. They connect and show everything working, but when I attempt to go to anything in a browser on my pc I get the HTTP ERROR: $CODE$ $MESSAGE$ REQUEST URI=/ error in the browser on my pc. I can still browse on my Dash, but it will not share this connection with my pc.
I can ping domains from my pc and it resolves the domain but will not get any response from the pings.
It seems to me like tmobile has some sort of restriction on their proxy that is causing this. Any ideas?
I've been having the same problem. I've drove to another location to rule out tower, tried other tmobile branded phones, noted other co-workers having the same problem, which ruled out sim card, hard reset my phone, and flashed back to factory rom. The only think I've noticed is if I flash to factory rom or do a hard reset and keep the cooked rom, I do NOT get the error until I install any program... doesn't matter what the program is... but after installing it the first time the error starts again.
It doesn't happen ALL the time, but will happen at least once on every connection.
I'm actually on the phone with Level 3 support at T-Mobile now to see if they can solve the problem. I'll let you guys know what I find.

US 3G (AT&T) Connection (Exchange) Woes

I just got a Diamond, put in my AT&T SIM, and let it automatically set up the connection for me. It set me up using wap.cingular. This delivers very fast internet, BUT, it won't stay connected to my exchange server for more than a few minutes (I have it set to sync as items arrive, and leave activesync always open on the phone). I tried doing a hard reset, then manually entering my settings (isp.cingular, [email protected], etc.) which works for exchange (it stays connected) , but when i run speed tests I end up only getting about 200k. Any ideas?
anyone with the DIamond on AT&T
Is there anyone else out there with a Diamond on AT&T using an exchange server connection? If so, would you mind sharing your data connection settings?
I am using the stock setup for AT&T. All I had to do was turn off the proxy server and it works fine.
do you use an exchange server connection? When you say you use the default setup, do you use wap.cingular or isp.cingular?
You shouldn't see either if you let auto setup configure the exchange server for you. The auto setup will check proxy server for you in the process. You should then be on MEdia net
(modem tab), with wireless.cingular appearing in the dimed box for name of the proxy server.
found the setting, I changed it and will report how it works. Thanks

the auto setup will turn the proxy for medianet on, since it's needed for it to send mms.
