Hello everybody !
I have a problem!! I use the TyTn II sometimes to connect to my home WiFi with no problem ......but I cannot connect in the university library.
It picks up the networks etc, and I add my user name and password,
But no luck...
The university support staff are often reluctant to support different devices. I wonder if 'certificates' are needed but I was told that the university does not use them.
I was also told to download to my PC then to the Tytn II, certchk.exe because if cancels the need for certificates. I think certchk.exe is not available for Mobile Windows 5 and 6.....
The final thing I can't solve, is that I use Microsoft ActiveSynch with Outlook2007 on the PC. Outlook 2007 itself is synchronised with the Exchange Server, and I would like to synch directly.
I can see how to do that...
but I get this error / support code - 80072ee2
I have searched about the code but not found a solution yet.
I was hoping to find a way to synch with the Exchange Server using,
1. my PC via a cable, ( done that ! )
2. my PC using WiFi and use MSN..
3. via GPRS when I am out and about,
4. via WiFi when I am out and about, and I find a WiFi service to use.
Should I be able to achieve all of these?
Any help appreciated!

The issue with the exchange server I used to get on my old phone the 8125. When I switched from WAP to ISP the problem went away.
I just switched over to Tilt last night and sync it with my exchange server, it syncs all the time with no issues.
where did you get the software for MSN?
hi jallenclark!
thanks for your super quick reply..
please tell me more... "When I switched from WAP to ISP the problem went away. "
I understand WAP and my ISP is the internet providor in the city, the exchange server is managed by the university.
The MSN that I use came with the Kaiser. I do remember it working when I had finished charging the battery... but not used it since.

I am using the Tilt which is a slight different version so I don't have the MSN software to play with.
Who is your provider for cell service? I use ATT, they have to different ways to connect to their internet. One is called WAP and on is called ISP. They are suppose to be the same speed. ISP allows audio and video streaming where I believe WAP doesn't. There are other differences that I can't remem ber one of the dealing with my exchange server. I am still playing with my phone cause I just got it last night, most of my information is old because I haven't read up on the phones much since the 8125 came out.
Hi!
I use Vodafone UK.. I think the connection says 'contract internet'
I will give them a call and see what they say...
Thanks!

Hi,
So far the AT&T Tilt has been kicking some serious ass. However, there has been one glitch that I'm hoping someone might know more about.
Twice now, the internet connection has stopped working through the cellular data connection. Connecting through active sync and wi-fi still works. The last time this happened I called Fido (Calgary, Canada), found out that everything was OK on their end and then tried a bunch of connection settings. Doing what they asked me to do didn't solve the problem. Then, seemingly by magic without doing anything in particular, the connection started working again and I could connect to web pages again through IE.
So it has happened again, and I can't to connect to the internet using IE (or any other application). Here is the status so far:
- tried rebooting the device
- been able to connect via wi-fi and active sync
- Installed Microsoft's Network Analyzer application which reports the following: IP address is assigned (cellular connection) and able to ping microsoft's http server (www.microsoft.com ). Note that when I disconnect my data connection the ping to microsoft fails so I believe it is actually reaching the server. There is no MAC address for the cellular network adaptor, but I don't know if this is normal or not. See the attached document which is the log file it generated.
- Tried to connect via Google Maps, Direct push (Exchange), Octro Talk. All of the applications give the same message that the page or service can't be found. It is odd that the Network Analyzer seems to be the only application that can talk to the outside world.
- Also re-ran the diable proxy cab for the Tilt
I didn't play with any of the connection settings prior to this happening so it's hard to tell what is causing the problem.
Thanks in advance,
Alan
Flash your ROM
If you are having the same trouble, I fixed my problem by flashing to an HTC ROM. Screen layout switching is faster now, my network connection is working and the system seems generaly faster. I'm using Dutty's Hybrid test final rom V4. If there is stuff about your tilt that you don't like, and you aren't actually using AT&T as your carier, then I would just ditch their ROM.
Alan
Hi, I have used this site for around 2 years, and often found answers…..however, this one I cant get round…I hope someone can help..here goes :-
Have tried the following on all of these ROMS
RUU_Diamond_HTC_WWE-ME_1.93.456.2_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.29.25.12_1.00.25.05_Ship.exe
SwiftBL-WWE-Diamond-ROM-v2-0
SwiftBL-Diamond-ROM-v3-0
When trying to sign into MSN Messenger I don’t even get to the “enter Name/PW” section, it simply says “There was a problem signing you into messenger. It may be the service or you may be in a place with bad reception. Please try again later”
When trying to add a mail client (hotmail) I enter my ID/PW and then it says it has found the settings for Hotmail. I press next and it says that again it cant connect
When trying to sign into Windows Live it says it cant connect
I have evoked IE and opera to ensure I have internet connection
If I turn on WIFI, all connect perfectly.
I have not only tried the different Roms, but also tried other versions of Windows live cabs with no luck
Can anyone help?
I've only tries the TLR rom but i have the same issue, cannot connect using GPRS or 3G but connects fine using Wifi or via ActiveSync. Im also on Tmob
its to do with T-Mobile, they have limited the connection you get when dialing from the handset.
I had the same problem. You can phone T-Mobile and see if they can sort it out for you.
Cheers,
re Phoning T-Mobile
I did phone T-Mobile, and they said its not to do with them. I used to have the MDA Compact III and that works with MSN etc, and if i turn that phone back on with my tmobile chip, it works, so guess it isnt T-Mobile, unless they can block specifc requests from specific phones?

i was having problems with my MDACIII, thats when i found out it was T-Mobile.... dont use 3G or GPRS anymore, just WiFi, so cant say if it happens on my Diamond...
I just had a fiddle around and i may have fixed this issue.
Settings - Connections - Connections - Click Manage existing connections - Proxy settings tab - Untick "this network uses a proxy"
I can now sync my hotmail fine.
Re Proxy / connection settings
wahoo - thats fixed it
Thanks alot James, i will no longer throw the phone out of the window
Excellent
Paul
Have a t-mobile mda compact iv(t-mobiles diamond version)you cannot do this fix on it because the internet connection is disabled by t-mobile from altering manual,it says it is preconfigured and manual setting is disabled.very clever of them

This did not work for me. In fact all my internet stopped working!
If anyone has he original proxy setting IP address kindly post it here for me.
That is UK T-Mobile proxy setting...

You can just redo the connection wizard also
Sure you didnt untick "This network connects to the internet"?

This worked for me on ProjectDiamond rom. Had to switch to GPRS for setup, but switched back to 3g after and now it syncs fine.

Nope, followed the instruction to the letter!
Also when I was using the standard T-Mobile ROM this following worked...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2422579&postcount=14
But now I’m using a custom ROM, I cannot get it to work...
Just a quick update, I too got it working!
You got to turn off 3G in the Comm manager, reset, then remove proxy setting, reset again, then syncronise via GPRS, then switch on 3G in the Comm manager, then reset then it should work!
You can probably reduce the number of soft resets, but that is what I did so left it in there...
As my hotmail and messenger is now working, im not going to fiddle with it. But if someone is still having issues could you try disabling HSUPA. Keep HSDPA enabled.
I know that I have disabled this somewhere along the way and it might be playing a factor in getting the above mentioned apps to work.
For people who have custom ROMs only it can be found in Settings > Connections > Advance Network Icon.
Post back here if you have any success for others to try...
Everything is working for me straightway whether it's the stock or the latest htc rom. I didn't have to fiddle with any settings.
I found this issue about 3 weeks ago, internet completely stopped working so i contacted T-Mobile and they said they were having issues and it would be fixed within a couple of hours, since it came back up some sites worked, some things wouldnt, my push email wouldnt work. Ended up unticking the proxies and it started working again perfectly have found i've had to do this with every ROM reflash so i think they perhaps have changed something at their end which is causing some issues.
i've been getting the same problems for about a month, funnily enough its only when boss changed account from normal to web and walk (had a 800 phone bill as thought wnw was enabled on the account already!)
tried disabling the proxy and it still fails sync'ing, the weird thing is that it does actually sync SOMETIMES.. ie i wake up in the morning and it has randomly synced once or something. so god knows what tmobile are up to
I have the MDA compact IV, Im using Dutty ROM V 1.5. had the same problem with MSN messenger and hotmail, contacted the T mobile support but they could not help me.
Now everything is working following just disabeling the proxy
But Im still not able 2 make the MSN 2 work on my laptop when I connect 2 the internet using the mobile phone! is there a fix for this problem?
when I try 2 connect I get this error: we were unable to sign u into windows live messenger, possibly because of a problem with your internet connection. please tru again later.
error code: 80072745
I don't know how it works on Windows but in Linux I have to transport MSN through HTTP mode when I'm connecting over T-Mobile . Is there a way to do that in Windows?
Similar issues here. When the proxy setting was enabled, I couldnt connect to either hotmail or gmail. When I disabled, gmail started working fine but so far I have only managed to sync with hotmail once!
I wish there was an easy fix for this because its a pain in the rear!
I have an AT&T TILT which I have been using on AT&T until last week when my company decided they wanted to move us to T-Mobile.
I have an updated ROM - Duttys_WM6_1_5.2.19700_Hybrid V2_1_65.14.06 [No_Cube V2]
I have installed Blackberry connect 4.0.0.97 and I am using Blackberry Desktop 4.0.0.19.
I connect to my corporate BES server.
This worked fine with AT&T, but now I am on T-Mobile I am having issues connecting. I looked through the XDA forums (and others) for about 12 hours so far with no success.
I recently did a hard reset, set the Version/AKU reg entry to .0.4.2 and re-installed the BBC software (I've also tried versions .103, .104 and .107)
On the phone I get PIN Pending and for IP Address: No connection. When I try to configure device via BBC desktop software I get a message that the PC can not communicate with the device (returned PIN = 0) and that I should check BB service is running.
Any ideas? I have checked through my IT department that the BB service is set up and set for BES access. I think the main issue it that I am not getting a PIN.
Need help
Additional info:
On the Status tab, it says Suspended by User.
I select 'Resume' and it says 'Not Connected' and then changes to 'Network Available'. It stays like this for some time and then goes back to Suspended by User
Make sure your T-Mobile account is provisioned for Blackberry Enterprise. Also make sure T-Mobile is not blocking your IMEI. AT&T has done this, I don't know about T-Mobile.
If you're not getting a pin while connected to the blackberry connect desktop assuming everything else is ok, it must be a problem communicating with rim through t-mobile.
In the end i switched to Air Sync and this works 1000 better than BB-Connect ever did.
Hi All!
I have a very strange situation and I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. I am using BlueMail to connect to my work email via exchange. When I am on WiFi everything works great. The strange behavior starts when I switch over to mobile data.
When I am on mobile data I can't connect to the exchange server to read email. I am notified of any new emails. I see who they are from and the subject but I get a connection failed error any time I try to read the email. I've even gone into the settings to try and test the connection and on mobile data that connections fails every time. So I tried a few things:
1. I tried another email client. In this case I tried the GMAIL app and the Outlook app that is in the Play store. Once again both can connect on WiFi but not on mobile data.
2. I tried hotspotting my phone and then trying to connect via my laptop. I was not able to connect to the exchange server over my hotspot using mobile data.
3. I tried using my VPN service on my OP3T over mobile data. Then I tried connecting to Exchange. This works!
My carrier is T-Mobile. I am wondering if they are somehow blocking exchange access. Has anyone on T-Mobile experienced something similar?
That is quite interesting. From the sounds of it, yes something is delimiting data transfer. The thing is Exchange ActiveSync works over port 443 as do most https websites. As that data is encrypted from the server side to your client device, T-mobile would have no way to say you have new mails but not actually show you the mail as the encrypted traffic would disallow that. Just for that little fact, it sounds like this might be something Exchange side and you are in conflict with a policy on the server.
As VPN would make Exchange think you are on the local network, that may be why it works in that instance. as it suddenly find you in conformance with policy.
As to what that policy may be to lock you out, I can not think of an out of box Exchange rule that would do that. Does your company utilize an MDM servicing application? If you are rooted, and they are enforcing a block on rooted devices, that could be a cause.
When I connect over VPN I'm not connecting to work. I'm connecting to a PIA server in the US. Also when I'm connecting over WiFi I'm connecting from any WiFi (including my home WiFi). WiFi works 100% of the time.
You could be right in that the issue could be on the exchange server but I'm using the same device over WiFi and over VPN. If there is an issue with root policy on the exchange server side one would think I'd have the issue every time I try to connect. That being said I know nothing about exchange nor my employer's policy.
It's certainly an interesting issue. I have a work around but I'd like to understand what is going on.
I am still suspecting T-Mobile somehow. My coworker (who is on AT&T) can connect using mobile data on his iPhone. He didn't do anything special or talk to IT about the policy. Anyone here checking an exchange account on their 3T on T-Mobile?

I am actually using Exchange Activesync myself over T-Mobile. Had it on Oxygen OS, CM 13/14, and now I'm on RR.
Issue free.
Best of luck on this. Very interested to see what the issue may be (as you may have guessed, I'm one of the exchange admins)
