Howto downgrade radio-firmware 1.54.30.10 ?? - Palm Treo 750 ROM Development

Dear developers..
Is there a possibility that I can downgrade my radio firmware from 1.54.30.10 to let's say 1.54.01.00 or whatsoever?
I tried dozens of methods but non worked, spend 10+ hours on this forum.. none worked.
My specs:
Treo 750 unlocked
Windows Mobile 6 (previously 6.1 normal version)
Radio: 1.54.30.10 (Hermes one)
IPL 0.20
SPL 1.40
Netherlands / T-Mobile
And is it possible to rollback to the official Palm Bootloader? In case I have to send it in for repair.
Many many thanks in advance

Bump Im Stuck With This ****ty Radio!!help!!!tried Everything!!

I guess nobody knows (so far) how to downgrade from Hermes radio. I guess the only way is to directly flash via JTAG - if you can find the right pins in your Treo. I.e. something like the one discussed for Hermes in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=391047

There are a couple of threads going on about this now and some people have reported success, but I am a little skeptical (sorry mates) they were actually at this firmware level as I have yet to successfully downgrade my radio...spent hours flashing, reflashing various OS ROMs, radio ROMs, even made my own radio ROM extracted from ATT 2.25 update, via various bootloaders, SPL, and on and on. So I have given up and hope the official WM 6.1 update rumors come true and it contains a refresh radio and can actually over-write.
Having said this, I am pretty stable using 1.54.30.10 alongside the normal/generic WM 6.1 ROM

i was able to downgrade my unlocked and hardspl'ed 750 from 1.54.30.10 to 1.54.07.00. i had to use the palm recovery tool that was extracted from Treo750_2_27_ROW_EN_DesktopUpdater.
there's a thread on it, but basically, ran the recovery tool, then flashed the 2.27 ROW EN update, then updated it with a radio-less 6.1 ROM. after the ROW update, the radio version was 1.54.07.00, which worked much better with ATT

What exactly is wrong with this radio? I like it better than the ATT WM6 one simply b/c I've had less issues and the earpiece is MUCH louder.

with ATT here in NYC, i had issues with 1.54.30.10-- it would drop the signal and a reboot would be needed to get it back. or if you went underground, and came back up, it would not grab a signal for a few minutes, i would have to turn the radio off then back on to get reception.
the problem went away with 1.54.07.00

couple of questions:
bi differance from your old radio to the new one? where are you located on the at&t network?
if much better, can you give me a detailed step by step, with the right links?
thank you

Not wanting or trying to get into a fray, but rather really trying to understand how you have succeeded where we have failed. I have tried your method to no avail. As I stated here and elsewhere I've tried throwing everything at this firmware/radio short of the kitchen sink. The reason this radio cannot be downgraded, as I understand it, is due to a "password" type issue. The available down-level firmware and the methods for accessing the firmware do not allow for the 1.54.30.10 firmware to be overwritten. I truly question the validity of the claim, not that I think you a liar, but rather that you actually had 1.54.30.10 firmware installed or that you have successfully overwritten. How are you determining that you had 1.54.30.10 installed? How are you determining that you have overwritten with a down-level firmware?
I doubt you will do this, and you certainly owe us nothing, but as a service to your XDA compatriots, how about you re-install 1.54.30.10 show us that you have it installed, then overwrite it. Screen shots would be lovely.
Again, this may come off as having attitude, but that is not intended. This is purely an academic challenge to help the rest of us understand how you have succeeded where the rest of us continue to fail.
Thanks in advance, cheers!

i had flashed the different radio version via sd card. i actually bought a new treo when i realized i couldnt get it to revert down to an older version, and 1.54.30.10 was horrible with ATT in NYC. i would get on an elevator and lose service and have to cycle the radio to get service again
i wanted to sell the one of the treo 750s, but didnt want to stick the buyer with the crappy radio version. i tried the method someone else posted up and it worked, i was actually very surprised.
its sold and gone, working happily on att with the rom version i posted above.
the only thing i had done before the ill fated flash was to hard spl the device and sim unlock it.
i have no reason to make it up, i can assure you i was stuck on 1.54.30.10, as i went out and bought a new treo 750 to replace it when i couldnt get the radio flashed down. it was stuck as i had tried to reflash the radio SEVERAL times, both using the hermes flasher and the sd card method. it sat on my desk for a few months gathering dust.
i dont have a stake in this, as i actually dont even use the treo i have left anymore-- the second one that i never flashed to 1.54.30.10. i'm now using a kaiser.
all i can say is, i didnt think to take screenshots because why the heck would i make this up? the radio was stuck at 1.54.30.10. i simply followed another members instructions for the hell of it (i was about to rip it apart for spare parts) and lo and behold, the radio dropped to 1.54.07.00. sold it. done.
i wouldn't have bothered to waste the time to post my success if i had known i would have people calling me a liar. seriously? for what? bragging rights that i fixed my own screwup?
was your device hard-spl'ed before you flashed the 1.54.30.10 rom?

Also a no-go here with the URT. Tried MTTY. Even tried BRICKING the darned thing with MTTY, corrupting the OS and radio, and no luck, reflashes but the damned evil radio remains intact. Gone as far as flashing a kaiser radio then reflashing a cheetah radio...no luck. Anyone? Imma shoot this thing lol.

It's amazing that you still cop to this when I SPECIFICALLY stated that was not what I was getting at...why do people WANT to feel as though they're being kicked?
Anyway...
From the relevant bits of your response, I have to believe your "success" in downgrade to lower version firmware was rooted in the fact that the firmware upgrade to 1.54.30.10 actually did not succeed. Sorry mate, this one's a dead end.
Still waiting for someone familiar with the firmware coding to step-up and help us out of this jam...Bueller?

That's my hope too, maybe the new WM6.1 ROM that we're promised will have a newer radio that can overwrite this one.

A little input
My understanding of this problem is that the persistently present problem radio version in question has a bootloader that requires a main bootloader (SPL) which can do a sort of authentication handshake.
Essentially the radio bootloader says "hey, SPL, here's some numbers...what's your reply? And if I like your answer I'll allow new radio code to be flashed. If I don't like your answer or I don't get one, take a hike jackass". The Treo SPL can't respond to the radio as needed.
To my knowledge an SPL with this capability has never been released for the cheetah. Ages ago when this was a topic of interest, I was told that someone may be able to port a hermes bootloader over to the cheetah that runs and can at least allow for reverting the radio. The hermes and cheetah are very very similar, with most of the differences being in address locations and so forth and whatnot and what have you.
There's only a handful of folks 'round here who could port a hermes SPL, but unfortunately they don't have Treos and are thus likely not all that motivated. Donations may perk their ears, but the developer not having a device for live testing can be painful for all involved. I used my device as the test subject for Oli while he dev'd the unlocker and it took a lot of IMing code back and forth and describing test results to him. I'm surprised he had the patience really. I've been stuck with that locked hermes radio ever since and it's been bearable, but HSDPA throughput is not good.
The Palm support tool would not be able to overcome this particular issue.
Is there a large number of folks with stuck radios?

I'm stuck with it!

Hi Summiter
Yes, I think there are a relatively large number of people stuck with it, judging by the threads I've been following in the hope that someone finds a solution. Whether it's enough people to motivate Oli or one of the other gurus is not certain though.
My device has better BT connectivity and louder speaker volume, but dumps most of my calls whenever the signal goes below 2 bars. Very upsetting for me and frustrating those at the other end.
It'd be great to get out of this jam - serves me right for playing with 'cooked' ROMs and such - but I love what these people do on XDA-Dev, and can't help but wanting to join the party.
Anyway, for this problem I'm almost resigned to junking the 750, and getting another device - maybe an HP 914c or a Treo 850 when they come out. I love my 750, but it's getting to be a real issue for me.

From posts here and other sites there appears to be a large number of 1.54.30.10 radios on Treo's. Though there appears to be a divide in those that feel it works fine vs those who know it does have issues. With that however, I feel the new devices on the horizon will soon make this discussion moot.

-
I've had a really bad time with 1.54.30.10. Lots of dropped calls, crashed radio etc.
So many times I had to turn radio off then on to make a call.
GPRS would sometimes show connected but not transfer any data and it would need to be disconnected then reconnected.
Also, battery life was worse than before (I didn't think that was possible, Treo is so bad already).
I don't have time to try all the options listed above for returning to an older Radio so instead I'm trying the new Hermes Radio ROM: 1.56.70.11
I'll give it a couple of days then report back. Other Hermes users are reporting pretty bad battery life with it - but if the radio is more stable I'll stick with it.
If you want to try it yourself, the file name is
HERM_Radinly_1.56.70.11_CustomRUU
It was rock solid (for Windows Mobile, that is) on the 1.54.07 and older Radios.
I'm on Vodafone New Zealand by the way which is a 900/1800Mhz GSM, 2100Mhz 3G HSDPA network. We should be listing network frequencies here -- some Radio ROMs might be better or worse on particular frequencies.

Upgrading Radio Rom ONLY

Is that possible? Everything I've read involving upgrading the ROM; I'm not interested in loosing all my settings etc, I just want a better radio ROM since mine looses EDGE/GPRS connection periodically. Is there a way to do this? Thanks.
This is possible to do. The files are in the usual place, and remember to unlock your CID first.
Be aware that it may claim that it will change your OS Rom version and/ir it may overestimate the time required--this is normal. Your OS Rom will stay the same and it should take only a minute or two.
I upgraded mine the night before last. I didn't use CID unlock or anything. I just d/l'd the file Wizard_GSM_11210.exe from the ftp and double clicked on it. It does tell you that you will lose everything and your OS is being upgraded, but that did not happen, it was just compiled with that installer, that's all, so don't worry.
My signal is stronger and my speakerphone works great now. I lost nothing and nothing else was changed.
Good luck.
Yep - done on my T-Mobile MDA. The stock radio ROM sucked bananas.
Will it adversely affect my Cingular 8125 in any way?
works!
Thanks for the quick reply guys. I installed the Wiz radio rom from the FTP site and it worked. EDGE and even Wifi seemed mroe stable and faster now. And all my data's still there!
As for the 8125, my friend got one of them and I'll ask him to try updating his radio rom with this same file and see if it breaks it.
Wow! It really does make a tremendous difference, thanks fellas!
which is the last version of the RADIO ROM ?
I got 01.13.10 inside the last WWE qtek wizard upgrade (1.6.7.1)
That's probably it. My phone came with 1.09 and the ROM I just applied is 1.12.
Would upgrading my MDA's Radio ROM to 1.13.10 adversely effect my battery life?
Well, if you get signals where you had none before, you might use the phone a lot more, so that would use more energy.
Seriously, I haven't noticed any difference in my battery's state of charge or rate of discharge.
So is it safe to say that the Radio ROM upgrades (1.12/1.13) are better than the stock US TMo MDA Radio ROM? I'm looking to upgrade but don't want to wind up with worse reception and/or a void warranty. Suggestions?
you could always use aWizard and backup your radio so if you need to return the unit for any reason, you could restore the old rom. i backed all of my stuff up and its sittin on in a folder hidden away
Thanks for the suggestion blazin...I'll have to start the process of learning about aWizard and how to use it.
Settings and whatnot
I have been trying to figure out the pluses to tampering, and this is one of the first threads where I have actually found a real positive. I am kinda simple though I have been weighing the options of flashing the ROM to reclaim some storage. I LIKE the voice dial on it right now. I could care less about the pdf viewer. I can download adobe and install it to SD. What other cabs in the extended ROM can I do without, how much storage can I reclaim, and how stable is the ROM I obtain. How difficult will it be to get the settings right to make good calls. I don't use edge or gprs for data. I do use wifi at home and around town. Is there a "for dummies" primer on how to do this. I am not a complete rookie with PPC, but I have no programming knowledge whatsoever. These threads rapidly leave me in the dust. I feel like a mule looking at a new gate quite often.

Download works fine for me. Just put xda in for the password. I'll check it out and see if its a reasonable alternative for the 2.19.11 rom and my Cingular service!

Thanks, I finally was able to download it. One question before I upgrade. Maybe Faria can give his input. I am a T-mobile user currently on the 2.19.11 radio rom. This seems to be the best one overall for me since it allows both data and voice calls at the same time, there are no missed calls. But reception/signal is somewhat not good. Does this new radio give better reception for T-Mobile as well as allowing both data and voice?
Thanks
Great radio rom but isn't 2.69.11 newer then 2.40.11?
Well, right, it is newer most likely. The thing is, newer isn't necessarily better for each person's circumstance. Radios are tuned for particular providers in particular places and are usually matched with particular roms. However, in my case for example, with Cingular US service, and WM6 roms, my experience and that of many others is that the 2.19.11 T-mobile UK rom is the best. The others were inconsistent in alerting me to incoming calls and pending voicemails. However the data and sound was better with the newer radios. For me not missing calls was most important, so I stick with the older rom. But, this is a new one for me, and hope springs eternal, so I'll probably give it a try and see if I can have the best of both worlds like those T-Mobile guys.
Regards,

From what I understand, 2.69.11 is the latest released German Radio rom, but 2.40.11 is a US released rom. So this may work better for US customers. I hope we can use 2.40.11 with WM6!

Just installed it! I will post back my results.
Since I finally experienced the awful delay in SMS receiving on the 2.69 radio ROM (after several weeks of success, I missed 4 important text messages in an hour's timeframe), I'm game for this. Downloading now...
So far my signal seems to be much better than 2.19 radio. but only time will tell.

I too am now noticing a delay\lack of SMS\Voicemail Msg after WEEKS of 2.69 working like a charm. I thought I was one of the lucking ones but now I am not so sure. Who knows how long this has been happening. Anyway, downloaded and installing right now.
Working great on WM2005 .
thanx Faria .
by the way...this is a US radio.....sorry i cant name the carrier at the moment.
I've installed this on my Cingular 8125 on the Cingular network last night. I received a test sms and another SMS from a friend in a timely manner. All test calls I've put through have worked so far. I was even downloading a webpage with Opera and phoned in and the call came through. So far so good... Tomorrow (Monday) will be the real test when I'm back to work, but I'll try to give it a workout today.
thanks for the info so far and please continue to post information on this rom and its working with wm6
P.S.-Sorry for not being able to also post information but in what i do missing a call/calls or missing a sms/sms' would cost me alot of $$$$$...(so thanks for being guinea pigs...poor pigs lol)
First timer dumb question
Hi. I am running Nottoosmart's system with radio 2.19. Things have been pretty stable, but there are times when I've had to reboot in order to reacquire the phone carrier after sleep (e.g. softreset). Also, subjectively I believe I have some signal problems when in places where there is already a weak signal.
So, bottom, line, I am considering trying this radio.
But, I have never flashed a radio before and I'd like to avoid having this become a "federal project." So a few questions:
1. I can flash the radio back and forth (e.g. ->2.40, ->2.19) *without* touching the OS (e.g. wm6 rom/ram), is that correct?
2. There are several executables in the zip: EnterBootloader.exe, romupdateutility.exe, RUUGetInfo.exe; I realize there are tutorials ad infinitum posted here, but can someone help me save some time by letting me know how to install the radio, do I just run "romupdateutility" over activesync, or is there more to do?
Please don't flame. I am an engineer, just not experienced in burning radios to MDA's. I assume the radio goes into a portion of rom that is dedicated to the phone processor of the OMAP chip?

Hello,
1) You can flash the Radio rom without messing with the OS. All of your settings and files will not be affected. It does not require a hard reset.
2) Just run the romupdateutility.exe. It works the same when you flash a new os rom, it just takes a fraction of the time due to the fact you are only flashing the radio. I just connect via USB and let activesync do its thing then run romupdateutility.exe, the program will kill activesync itself.
I hope this helps.

When do we need Hard SPL?

Hi all,
I just got my wing, I use the USPL method flashed serveral roms and in the process of finding the best rom that fit me. I wanted to try the Touch-IT, but this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=358332
said that we need to have hard SPL before updating. I tried to read as many as I can, but I still don't understand when we HAVE to use hard SPL and when we just can USPL? what is the requirements or factors that determine them? Thanks in advance. In my understanding so far, USPL will not brick the phone while Hard SPL may brick the phone. Am I right? this is the reason I try to stick with USPL.
with USPL, you can't recover your phone if you do not have an RUU for it if you mess up a flash (actually you can, but its a bit complicated)
HardSPL is a more permanent (still removable) cid-unlock. If your device is HardSPL'd and you mess up a flash and your device does not have an RUU, you can always flash it again.
or something like that. Truth be told, sometimes its just nice to have choice, even if our HardSPL is technically stolen from olipro

Thank you for your explaination. What i am looking for is when do I know that i can do USPL and when I MUST do Hard SPL. Because when I download a rom, some says I MUST have Hard SPL to make it to work while some does not say anything, just the zip file with the .nbh inside. By the way, when you say having a RUU for the device, do you mean the official one we can download from t-mobile.com? Again thank for your help. I am still try to learn as much as I can.
Best regards
Obviously, you have a wing, so yes there is an RUU. And it IS the one from tmobile.com. I get mine from the xda-devs ftp, but it's the same thing.
I see no reason why HardSPL would be absolutely required, and because you have the RUU, i see no harm in trying to flash using USPL. Try it, tell us what happens.
And before you may or may not ask, Olipro says that canonyang took his HardSPL after saying it did not work, renamed it, and posted it as his own work. Evidently, canonyang was caught because it was date stamped. Evidently.

Excellent explaination. It much much clear for me now. I tried almost all the famous rom such as the Open Touch, the TouchIT, ... but I like ASarg's the most. I am tempted to tried the Just2Clean, but it said it need to be flash using the SD card, which I don't have one right now. Agian, thank you
There may be a different question going on here?

I see no reason why HardSPL would be absolutely required, and because you have the RUU, i see no harm in trying to flash using USPL. Try it, tell us what happens.

There is a different but allied question going on here? aSerg's ROM says that you cant flash his ROM unless you have an ipl.spl of at least 4. Perhaps it may be worthwhile explaining how you judge which boot loader one has, what it's relevance is, if ANY Wings have a lower boot loader and if so, how you upgrade the boot loader?
By the way, his hitherto extraordinarily successful thread has just petered out: Is everyone waiting for the new ROM (references to "family problems" etc) or is it being moved to the WM6 area with a new thread?
ALL wings (as in Tmobile branded) have IPLs and SPLs of more than 4.
to check, soft reset while holding down the camera key. After that it gets self explanatory.
Yes, not all Heralds are Wings but I wonder if they do all have the same hardware?

Thank you for clarifying that for everyone's benefit as there was some confusion on this: As I implied in my post, I suspected that all Wings had this but notice that if he is still around, aSerg is in Russia and I dont know if T-Mob operates there. So we cant know if all Heralds have this and nowhere is it explained that all Heralds have the same hardware.
While we are on this subject, do you know if there is any problem using VoIP with the Wing? None of the Wing ROMs seem to include it, aSerg had it in his original ROM but took it out even though there were no reported problems with it and there is reference around to T-Mob wanting to limit it's use to their own system. Why is everyone cooperating with them by not including it in ROMs? I wonder if this is anything to do with hardware issues with differences between versions of the Herald? No one seems to have posted cab files for it for the Wing, though interestingly cye3212 says at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=400642&highlight=VoIP&page=85 that hers constantly invokes and wont turn off!! (her problem must be something to do with the WHENEVER AVAILABLE setting?)
the herald and the wing (really just the HTC atlas, which is really a herald with the round keys in the front) have exactly the same hardware, keyboard excepted (region dependant)
now. VoIP. I've never used voip, but i would guess that it was taken out because it was a) against the TOS of a majority of carriers or b) not too good because we can only manage EDGE data.
and by the way, i forgot to mention. ROM development for the Herald seems to have stalled. Why? Itje has a polaris, ttran has a wife (itje does too, i think), ivan has school, papamopps has a job.
somebody needs to be our savior and pop-out a wm6.1 smartphone rom for the herald.

My internship will be ended next week. I am planning to start to cook my own rom (since I don't have a wife ...yet or a polaris ..., but I love my wing). I looked over Ivan's cooking class, but it doesn't seem to be completed yet. Do you guys know any good cooking tutorials or references? Thanks
Most development seems to be for the Wizard

The best place to start looking is by mozying over to the Wizard forums where there are cooking classes and sample kitchens etc etc etc. A lot of these devices are very similar and a lot of what applies to one will apply to the others. That is why I cant understand what is meant by putting out differing .cab files for different processors and letting users try to figure out what OMAP is an ARM etc.. But I digress!
BTW i cant see how installing VoIP can conceivably be a violation of any TOS or why anyone who has unlocked their device should care about this. For that matter, I have a few spare devices around and wanted to use them as SIPs without SIM cards in them. Not sure where TOSs come into that equation? But when cooks take them out of their ROMs, no one seems to complain and I have often asked questions about use of VoIP with various HTC phones and no one (not even Schap) ever seems to know the answer. Besides, the main cab file for them seems to be a Microsoft file!

ATT Tilt- possible radio problems, total noob needs help

Hi guys, I really did search first, I promise. I have been having connectivity issues (not making calls, lost data connections, etc...) since I updated to the ATT Official Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM (3.57.502.2 WWE) with radio version 1.65.21.18. I am trying to determine if I need to upgrade my radio version. I found the thread with all the radio versions for my phone but don't know anything about them. I did get that I should try different ones until I find one that works for me. So do I need to install the HardSPL on my phone (or did the Official ATT rom upgrade do that already)? From there do I run that RUU.exe file on the desktop (or what)? It would be great if someone could put this in super simple terms for me.
Thanks in advance,
-Max
one word for your info, "WIKI"
I did look over the wiki for some time, here is my hang up. Jockyw2001 posted in an SPL thread that "SPL3.56 is part of the latest AT&T Rom which is dated June 6. 2008" So since I did the official ATT upgrade and my ROM date is 07/17/08, does that mean that I already have SPL 3.56 on my device? I can not find a post about how to determine what SPL version (if any) is installed on my device. If SPL is already installed, is there any danger in installing an older version of SPL or reinstalling one?
Thanks again
-Max

So you are saying that the stock rom and stock radio are not working correctly, no cooked roms or other carrier radios?
Did the problems start right after you updated?
Oh and your problem seems similar to the one in this thread here, well least is sounds similar to me anyways...

Yup, stock radio and rom as suggested by ATT, whom their customer service now claims they do not support WM6.1. I've never used a cooked rom and really only come here for device information and applications. I did have problems before I upgraded the rom but they have much worse since. The thread you posted is similar but they mostly talk about an "H" connection. I am in the DC metro area (USA) and get 3G all the time now, I wonder if that is part of the problem, I never get an EDGE network signal anymore.
Well... I just found THIS buried over on the ATT support forums
Clp1970 01-21-2009 10:33:16 AM
I guess we just got 3G network here. I haven't been able to make/receive calls for 5 days now. Tech support supposedly looking into issue. My phone switches bewteen 3G and EDGE constantly. Anyone else having this issue? What was the resolution? I don't want a refurbished Tilt if they can't come to a resolution (why would I want the same darn phone if it doesn't work well with 3G as advertised?) I have already drove 20 minutes to the nearest store for a new SIM card..which did no good. There isn't anyway of turning off 3G network unless I install software I have seen mentioned on this forum and well, I don't know about that...I paid for this phone to do what it said, and it isn't.

And this is the reply to it over there....

Common problem that can be either due to problems with the rollout or that the local towers cannot handle 3G as effectively or at a greater distance as the same tower could for Edge. These are some related threads and posts but there are a lot more. As noted in these posts if there is a local AT&T store run by AT&T then you might pop in and confirm some of the problems with them.

The tendency is to blame the phone but the reality is often different and that includes from customer support who offered to swap my phone several times but this obviously would not work because it affected many other users as well differing phone manufacturers and models.

Timing of it is close enough to make me wonder, but I had been using HSDPA.. But I have been getting the same problems you are talking about when the phone is set to 3g as well. The other thing that is starting to make me think its something ATT did to their network is that the OP from the thread that I linked on here lives 20 mins west of my location, and I am 15-20 mins north of DC... I may go to one of the local att stores and see what they have to say (tho that means for me that I get to flash my phone back to the stock rom )

Installed 6.5, even slower than before!

We all know how bad Windows 6.1 performed thanks to HTC never providing us with the correct video drivers...
I just installed 6.5 from this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=519715
And now my phone is UNBELIEVABLY sluggish, I mean 2 second delays between selections and screen changes...this is pathetic really
I thought people were saying 6.5 was faster
Anybody else have this problem
I don't know any of that. 6.1 was good to me and 6.5 better.
Just because you have problems doesn't mean we do.
You should be posting on TCP's thread. I'm using it and very happy .. in certain aspects, it's faster.
Did you flash OEM before doing this? SPL version and Radio is important too ..

I am a bit curious about that. I unlocked mine with hard-SPL after much fight getting it to run and installed the new radio packed with it and then updated to TCP Elite, and for some reason, the radio is acting up, I can get calls and when I hang up, I get this wierd humming noise even while hung up, afterwards which the phone wont answer calls. (Radio version is 1.70.Olinex, SPL 1.0 Olipof). Also, the camera doesnt work either. Anyone else having any issues with this and if so, what fixed it?

I would suggest reading the flashing for noobs guide again, as you have a radio that is hacked to unlock the phone and isn't meant to be used everyday, and you have an SPL that is in the exact same boat. Read my sig as to what I have for a Radio and my SPL, they work great for me!

Thanks. I am running what I am running due to having the white screen issue as well as the "rare" (per another thread somewhere) USB connection issue, so the ones I am running are because of all the hassle it took to get the USB to connect. Once I did, I was a little nervous about going much further. Thanks for the updates. I will surely look into it after work.

Just flash via SD card... I would upgrade your Hard SPL first, then upgrade your Radio... no need to hard rest after flashing any of those... just follow the sticky guides in the ROM Development forum.
