Get off!
Save your money, check http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=60087 instead.
IMEI changing is illegal in many countries, but for some countries that block IMEIs on phones not purchased within that country (e.g., Turkey), there's no alternative. Better check the laws in your country first!
er, what???
Good luck with that Keef, I hope you can get a signal for GPRS from your prison cell.

Police have recently raided various addresses of people advertising blocked phones on Ebay, so advertising that you have the facility to illegally unblock them is not a good idea.
I couple days ago I won a Unclaimed & Forfeited Property Police Auction ( Have recipe to prove it ) .In the telephone Lot there is 5 TyTN II phones 2 have broken screens ( good for parts ) And the other 3 are like new when I enter *#06# the IMEI code come up as all zeros .Tried to power them up and got no service .Contacted the service provider and they informed me from the IMEI number from back off the phones that they where an insurance ride off due to the phone reported lost or stolen. They also informed me that they police by law have to change the IMEI number (well they did ).I contacted the telecommunication body in my state and they informed me that due to that the phones a legal again if I reinstate the original IMEI numbers .They will take the banned IMEI of the banned register . They also suggested to me that most mobile manufactures have a code to reinstate the original IMEI .
Does anyone know if possible to reinstate the IMEI on the TyTN II? If so PM me .
Or is their any service company that can do this ? PM me.
If not I will be selling Parts of the phone ?
I have a full SMC workshop and can remove any IC or
components ?
Location is Australia.
Thanks in advance .

Sorry, I can't help you with suggestions. You might be better trying outside this forum, most people in here dont bother with the IMEI because of the reasons in that post.
Just so long as your aware, wouldn't want you to end up in jail, especially after I have chatted to you

Fellow XDA-devs,
When I was in US for work I bought myself a T-mobile G1 and used the TM plan of my employer for use in the US. When I moved back (quit my job in an unhappy way), I had an ex-colleague sim unlock my phone via his account number through T-mobile customer support.
After one month the device wouldn't read my Belgian Mobistar SIM-card, and I even tried other providers including T-mobile in the Netherlands.
It took me about 4 months to get the my T-mobile G1 repaired.
Because it's a T-mobile simlocked device and an US device every European repair center denied the repair.
Check this forum post at the Official HTC community forums for more info about the first part of this adventure. Still unanswered
hxxp://community.htc.com/na/htc-forums/android/f/40/t/808.aspx (replace the x's, new forum users can't post urls. Sry mods/admins for the extra work )
The device finally got board swapped when repaired at HTC USA. (Big tnx)
Now that I have my device back it's again SIM locked to T-mobile US and because it's another IMEI code my old unlock code doesn't work anymore.
Since I got back I ain't a T-mobile customer anymore and my ex-colleague also quit I can't get the sim-unlock code.
But to get the code from T-mobile I just need a willing person to provide me with the permission to unlock my phone via his/her account.
Anyone willing to help, please?

Simple. http://www.unlock-tmobileg1.com/
I haven't tried it but it should work.
Already tried several services.
None can provide the code.
All you need to do is provide a Tmobile customer with your phones IMEI. They can contact customer care with that and request the unlock code to be emailed to themselves and then after receiving said email can PM you the information on here. That way you have nothing to do with their account.
The reason I'm posting this is because your wording made it sound like you wanted someone to allow YOU to call in on their account.

Which no one is going to do anytime soon.
Hope this helps.

Just PM me and I'll see what I can do.
Hello all,
I'm quite aware that sim-unlocking questions are generally frowned upon, however the phone is not under any sort of contract or commitment, and I do live in Canada, so hopefully that should cover the legality of this inquiry.
The issue I'm having is that I won an Xperia Z1 at a Telus press event (hosted for mobile resellers locally). However I am a Rogers customer, and do not wish to switch providers to switch phones. After calling in Telus and requesting an unlock code (traditionally $35), I was told that the phone is not eligible to be unlocked by Telus, since their unlocking policy doesn't include "Prize" phones, or promotional phones of any sort. Apparently it is blacklisted in their unlock code database and there is no unlock code to be purchased from them as a result.
I've attempted two different online unlock code sites, the first of which immediately issued me a refund saying they couldn't locate an unlock code. The other has said they couldn't find the code and are now looking under an international Database but it would take a few days to *possibly* locate the unlock code.
My question to the experts is: Can this phone be unlocked? If there is no code via Telus does that mean that there is no other code elsewhere online that can be generated? Is there other solutions (via rooting, online, elsewhere), or do I have to sell this phone and buy an unlocked one.
Any insight would be appreciated.
Thank you

Thank you! I managed to get it unlocked (using an international code? according to the sim unlocker) but I definitely appreciate the help! Cheers!
I just bought a Nexus 6 on Ebay, but I had problem register it on motorola.com. I went on live chat support with a Motorola representative, and according to her (her chat name is Alistair) "IMEI will come from the service provider upon activation of the network." This make me very confusing. I believe that IMEI should be come from manufacturer. Can anyone confirm this?

IMEI is associated with the device. On Android 6.0, you will find it under Settings/About phone/Status/IMEI information
Never heard of that one! IMEI is unique device number and it comes with every device, regardles of service provider, so I have no idea what she was talking about.
Maybe your phone was already registered before if you have bought 2nd hand or refurbished device...

I gave her the IMEI number under setting->"IMEI information", but she said it is invalid. She assisted me to contact my service provider for a valid IMEI.

Unfortunately your service provider will not be able to help with a "valid" IMEI number. As mentioned previously, the IMEI number is specific to the device and does not have anything at all to do with your service provider (carrier).
Sounds like some one reported the device stolen and then changed the IMEI to an invalid one and then sold it.
As stated above the IMEI is hardcoded to the phone. It is basicly the serial number of the board in the phone. This information is stored on the EFS partition for other devices. Not sure where it is stored on the nexus 6 yet.
On the Nexus 6 it's called EFS too. At least that's what TWRP offers to backup.

Motorola websites ( uk,usa, canada, brazil, india, middle east) etc. only accept imei numbers from devices which are bought form their spesific region. For example, If your devices' origin is from Brazil, you need to register it from moto brazil website, otherwise you can run into such stupid issues with other motorola region support girls Since they dont have a clue of what they are talking about, never bother with them. You can find the origin of region on the original device box. If you dont have the box, check www.imeidata.net , motorola warranty. That site will give you enough information about the origin of your device, helping you register it with a certain motorola website. Hope it helps.
