ringtone problem - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

How come my ringtone on my tilt only plays for one sec and then stops. I cut it with audio manager but others do the same. Its on ring and vibe

can u give use more info like rom d wht type of mp3 ur using? there are lot of things that might be the issue. how long hs it ben doing this, is it just with ur cut mp3's. info we need info

Even I am facing a ringtone problem on my HTC touch. I am unable to make .mp3 files to work as ringtones.

try changing to Ring only mode.

I am having this same problem!! No matter what ringer is assigned, when I receive a call it plays for .5-1 second and stops. The vibrate works perfectly though.
My Tilt is using the April 29th version of Dutty's rom.
Has anyone found a solution?

i think i know why it happens, when i got a call from a private number that microsoft voice thing starts to say the number and caller, but because its private there was a big gap. I dont know how to turn off the speech for the caller but i think that should fix it

That's exactly what it is!!! if you disable "voice command" under the settings tab, the problem is fixed

I Need Help With MY HTC TYTN a2dp/phone ringer

On my HTC TyTn when I use my motorola ht820 they work great for music and phone calles but when I receive a call while using them my tytn wont ring out the loudspeaker of the phone it just rings through the motorola head set, how can I change this so the phone knows to route the ringtone to the phone and the headset? I have all through the reg to find something.
I use same headset - but I have trouble - after a call - music don't play again!
do u have same problem? or managed to solve it?
and what patch for BT stack do you use?
Maybe My rom is newer but I have no problems stright out the box it worked fine I only had my tytn for a week but I do no that the wizzard suffers from that problem try making a call and when you hang up just wait a while to see if the music will automatic start, I know my moms wizzard was doing that but I just watied to see if it would go back to the music and it did, I think that it gits confused if you press the play button, but the tytn dosent do that at all it just back to music after a sec

ringer disappeared

All,
Not sure what happened, but all of a sudden when I get an incoming call there is no volume on the ringer. If I switch to vibrate it will vibrate when a call comes in. I went to Settings-Notifications and confirmed there is a ring tone selected and I can play a test of it. Is there some other hidden setting I am missing? FWIW I am also running Goodlink 4.9 although it hasn't in the past caused any problems. Thanks.
I have also got this problem. Seems very weird. I originally thought it was because the dir of the ringtone file had changed - which it had. But i re-assigned the ringtone to a default tone and still it does not work.
Must be a registry thing - but where to look?
Anyone have any ideas on this?
Yep I also have this problem. Did you guys figure it out in the end?
I've had the phone replaced but it ended up doing the same thing.
Upgraded BA WM2003 to WM5 and Speaker Out Ended.
I upgraded my Blue Angel device from Windows 2003 to Windows Mobile 5 and then I had no Volume on my device. My phone still works but I have to have headset paired up or directly connected to be able to use it since the speaker function is non-existent.
Please note this is for all applications not only the phone, so I have no reminders or anything that used to use the built in speaker.
Any ideas???
Recently I also just lost my Connection Settings..?
I can't figure that out since I haven't done anything to it recently to lose these settings, no I can’t connect to the Internet or even create a new connetion.
I have tried hard resting as well as soft resting to a point when everything worked, however this still doesn't fix the Connection Settings or the Volume. I think the Volume is directly related to the upgrade, so I might upgrade the ROM again to see if that fixes it.
Any other ideas.....?

When you tap the volume icon on the taskbar, do you see both sliders set to high?
Hi
I have exactly the same problem since several weeks. The TyTN II has been 3 times sent to the repair centre and the problem still exists! The device is completely useless if it's not playing the ringtones.
Hi all
It's very likely that's because you all have installed an external MP3 player (like Pocket Music). When you did so, the app registered .mp3 extensions as a PocketMusic extension.
When you receive a call, WM6 tries to open PocketMusic (or so) to play the ringtone, but can't because of compatibility reasons.
To have your ringtones back, you either uninstall your MP3 player, or unregister .mp3 extensions (to do that in PocketMusic, go in Menu -> Options -> file types and unselect .mp3).

Fixing Ringtones
I had this problem and worked out how to fix it.
Look at the following Reg Key (change midifile to mp3file for mp3 issues)
Delete any EventSoundHandlers already in place and add this Key.
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\midifile\Shellex\EventSoundHandlers\{245F94CF-DD9C-46F9-B4C8-D2B14A877893}]
@="XME EventSound Player"
Problem fixed.

Tilt w/ Dual Touch ROM questions

i have an unlocked Tilt with Dutty's Dual Touch Rom V.3... big thanks to dutty for his work...
here's a few things i've noticed so far... been playing around with the phone for a few days now... and done a ton of reading up here and at xda...
1) ringer doesn't ring in my BT Headset (SE HBH-610a).. just hear a plain ringer in the headset but the mp3 ringer plays on the phone... my e61i paired with the same headset used to play the mp3 ringer on the phone and headset... any way to change this??? and when i silence the ringer on the phone, it still keeps ringing in the headset... go figure that one out...
2) i don't hear anything in the headset when there is a SMS notification... plus i can't silence the SMS notification when it does come in... have to let the tone play out in full... very annoying at times... and the sms tone plays while i'm on a call... the very weird thing here is that it won't ring in my headset when i get a notification when i'm not on a call but if i'm on a call then the sound will play in my headset even though i'm on a call... makes no sense for it to do that...
3) there isn't any way to group contacts or send group txt msgs... though i've been looking really hard to find a good program to do this... you'd think a phone with a full keyboard would have some sort of program to send group txt msgs... can anyone suggest a good program???
4) can't figure out how to use mp3's as a ringer for the alarm... figured out how to add them to the sms notifications but not having any luck for the alarm... again, i'm sure i could add a program that could do that but would be nice to use mp3 ringer with the original alarm...
other than that.... love the phone... i'm sure all of those are just minor and i need to tweak things a bit... i'll keep searching around but if anyone has any suggestions for apps or anything else, any help would be much appreciated...
also looking for some type of app that would have the phone say the name of the person calling... it comes with all nokia phones these days and i find it very convenient... my e61i used to say the name of anyone that was in my phone book... very handy sometimes when u can't reach into ur pocket to see who's calling...
also notice a similar problem to someone else here... i'm on the fido network in canada and saw a post about someone not receiving calls all the time... it's happened to me a couple times over the past couple days... i put my band to gsm only and i'll update if i notice any difference...
figured out the group stuff and group sms stuff... and got a good alarm app that uses mp3s...
still havin the BT probs... 1 & 2 from my above post r very irritating problems... anyone have any recomendations??
anyone know an app that is something like this... preferably free...
http://www.handster.com/software.php?id=143&for=WM6
i like the hear who's calling function... very convenient when u can't grab the phone outta ur pocket...

ringtones only coming into bluetooth headset, how do i stop this?

I have a Tilt and am currently using the latest Hyperdragon III rom, but this has happened with several of the most recent roms.
it used to be that whenever i got an incoming call i would have both ms voice command announce the call through my bluetooth head set, while the phone would vibrate and play the ringtone through its normal speaker.
now, for some reason, in this latest batch of roms, i'm getting both the msvc announcement and the ringtone through my headset and the phone only vibrates. if i turn the headset off, then the phone rings like normal.
this gets to be a problem when i have the headset in my pocket, i start to miss calls!
has anyone else had this problem?
edit: also, something that's bugged me forever, the T key seems to always miss presses. i have to really jam on it to get it to register. if i'm not thinking about it, i'll send out texts and emails with no Ts in them at all! is there a software fix to this or is it a hardware issue?

Hardware. As to BT, I've always had that behavior (all sounds in headset), so don't have much to say, seemed normal to me.
I had that same problem, but I used the MSVCtoggle.cab and it switches it from headset to phone and vice versa.
I believe you need to go to "Voice Command" under settings > system, then select "Notifications"
There are settings that allow changes in how notifications are handled via your speaker and/or your BT.
Hope this helps.
The problem isn't the calls being announced via bluetooth, it's the fact that the phone now only rings into the bluetooth headset.
in previous roms, it used to be that when a call would come in, my phone speaker would ring and i would also receive the MSVC announcement via the bluetooth headset
now, in newer roms, the phone speaker does not ring, and i got both the ringtone and the msvc announcement via the bluetooth headset.
i don't want msvc to announce the calls via the phone's speaker
same thing happens with messages and the announce new messages feature. I get the sms read to me in my bluetooth headset, but the new sms tone also plays through the headset.
edit: if i turn off call announcements, then the phone rings through the regular speaker. i get no call announcements, but hearing the ringtone is much better! i'm using msvc 19965
same problem, please help , it is geting to be verry annoying (((
thank you
p.s. using tilt, original rom, voice comman 1.6.19214
very annoying voice comman problem
same problem, please help , it is geting to be verry annoying (((. if i take check mark out from phone checkbox, under setings voice command then it rings at a phone, but i cant use voice command to dile phone numbers. i say call "name " it finds it but doesn't ask < call "name" > , so it defits the porpose of voise comand.
thank you

[Q] Media Panel Calls my contacts !!!!

Hello Experts,
I have a strange porblem with my X1. Whenever I use the media panel to listen to music (using my headset provided with the set)..after a few mins, the last number either dialled, received or missed, starts getting dialled automatically !!!
I tried by clearing my call list ,and using the media panel, after a few mins, it still beeps (maybe trying to find the numbers in the call list) but finds no number to call so the music continues.
Soft Reset, Hard Reset, Reinstalling the original firmware, nothing worked !!
and also, when calling using the headset , the line gets disconnected after a 2 or 3 minutes !!!
please help
Nobody seems to know '!!!

Hmm, the Media Panel is a beta? It came preinstalled with every new Xperia so it is definitely no beta.
On several occasions my Xperia dialed numers in my address book too and at first I also thought that this behaviour is somehow related to the Media Xperience Panel. But then I found out that it always dialed the last number I had called. I did some thinking and came to the result that the reason for this behaviour hast to be the button on the microphone of the headset. Since then I have paid attention not to touch it anymore and so far my phone has not called anymore contacts. I am almost certain touching the button on the microphone of the headset accidentially started those calls.
