I don't have a Touch Diamond yet, but I was wondering if those of you who do could tell me how often you find yourself realigning your screens. My Touch was quite prone to alignment problems - especially when subjected to large temperature changes and when the battery was running low.
As the Touch Diamond has a poor battery life, I am concerned that it, too, will require frequent realignment...
in all my pda usage, which is A LOT i've never ever had to reallign my screen.
MY PDA HISTORY
Ipaq 3850 > Ipaq 5450 > Ipaq 4150 > Dopod P100 > Dopod 838Pro > Eten M700 > Dopod D810 > HTC P3600i & HTC Touch > MDA VARIO 3 (HTC tytn2 aka kaiser) > HTC Touch Cruise > HTC Touch Diamond
So far, Touch Diamond also no problems

hiya everyone.
i've recently gotten an o2 mini-s (gosh i miss unbranded kit); anyhow, it has versions 2.21.4.1, etc on it.
i've seen http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=47848
is it possible for me to get a nice clean generic version? There's a few things wayward on my device that i could do with:
namely
1 -- when running TomTom, it'll screen lock when i'm navigating (my old pda2k didn't do this)
2 -- When i connect it to 'external power'. the screen brightness doesn't increase (my old pda2k had two brightness settings)
if anyone has any answers that would be utterly brill (my new favourite word - i'm so 90's)
I have just taken delivery of the new Orange HTC TyTN II and all is going well. Typically they have removed many great apps, including the Internet Calling, HTC Home and Touch stuff and other HTC includes.
The TomTom 6 Navigator that some are reporting comes with the HTC version is not included with this, so I have installed the version I had installed from CD on my Hermes (SPV M3100).
The problem is that even when updated to version 6.030, the app simply cannot connect to the GPS. How can I a) check that Orange have not removed that and b) configure the GPS control panel to work.
This is driving me barmy!!!!
(On a seperate note, is there a single list of the great CABs for the Kaiser - rather than 52 pages of a thread?!)
The cabs are all in the first few posts...
My O Tytn2 works fine with GPS... just look at the EXTERNAL GPS settings for com and speed and use them on Tom Tom?
Orange Tytn II
Is that Uk Orange .... are they calling it Tytn II or is it an SPV no.
I wasn't aware that this had been released by orange yet
Uk Orange. HTC Tytn 2 branding
Released last week.
Tom Tom 6 on Orange
if you go on to the tom tom site and under support just type built in gps
there is a tutorial for another phone but it works on tytn II
why do orange play around with the roms and remove things
has anyone tried the cooked roms on orange.
i read a post that someone who did it cannot use any network cards

Just thought i would let people know that i have received my new TytnII from Orange UK (having a faulty original) and it now ships with Windows Mobile 6.1!
Also included are the HTC Home plugin and the HTC HomePlug as standard (the later is useless).
Having has a loan of an old SPV with a modified 6.1 ROM on it, its a welcome surprise as i was always a wee bit dissappointed with the slugishness of WM6.0. My TytnII is now a bit quicker.
Thought - do you think Orange UK are now shipping new TytnII's with WM6.1 from the shops or do you think i have WM6.1 because i had a faulty unit and HTC supplied Orange with "default" TytnII's for use with warranty claims and Orange have just loaded their 'Orange' today screen ????
Only problem i have is the screen turns off during a call (annoying when using the answer phone) and im sure there was a .cab that was an editor to allow me to change that setting plus some more advanced settings. does anybody know the name of it, as i have not archived my original download of the .cab.
Regards
D
You can alter the setting for this using KaiserTweak, which you will find elsewhere in this section.
Hmmmm, that's great news!!
Maybe I'll report the fault with mine after all to chance getting a 6.1 replacement!!

Hi,
I've a HTC Diamond, UK version with the following rom:
1.35.401.3 WWE
30-05-2008
0.93.25.NS26
52.26.25.09H
I've try install different versions of tomtom, actually the 6.32, but impossible to detect the integrated gps... I've only bluetooth, wired and Others NMEA...
I've try all Bauds settings possibles on NMEA but noone work...
Any solution plz? I've 1 day for decide if I buy this Diamond for replace my Touch Cruise or not... And i want be sure the GPS is working...
Plz if you know, say me how can i have this gps working with tomtom...
Maybe an other rom? If yes wich? Or a special version of TomTom? Or any fix?
I had the same problem with my diamond's gps.. I 've been through many forums searching for a solution. Somewhere i read that i have to do hard reset on my device and after that a soft reset. That's weird, I know..BUT It worked!! I use Destinator 7..
Before one i exchanged my precious Touch cruise to get the touch diamond..Except the marvellous for me today panel that Htc has on newer models, I mean the touchflo 3D, all other are worse than cruise. Lack of battery only 900mAh, Lack of Memory only 60mb which can't stand the changing of tabs, and GPS issues..I looking for give Diamond away and buy AN touch HD..
i have the same problem
Mine works but alwats takes a minute or 2 to get a lock
Settings
Your tomtom settings should be set to
Set to other NMEA
4800 Baud rate
Com 4
The best Radio rom has to be 1.09.25.23 It comes with one Of Duttys roms now.
I pick up a gps fix within 15 seconds of firing up Tomtom.
You can get a battery that lasts longer for the Diamond now that won't interfere with the GPS. But as I have a charger in the car and at work and at home. I'm not fussed.
Try to flash it with any other radios... for example BS14.
In 1 of 3 cases A-GPS is the problem. Disable AGPS and test your Diamond with HTC GPS Tool - shut solve your problem
