Excellent. That'll be bang on time for my contract upgrade. I dread to think what T-mobile will charge though. Thier Vario II seems to have increased in price since I bought mine last year :-/

Yeah I can upgrade my Vario I got for frr 18 months ago to a vario for only £100 <shrug>

A pal at T-mobile uk cs says September release on their network. And a likely £120 supplement (with severe haggling in-store). This could all change though - it depends how much HTC want to charge for them.
p.s. is the screen still QVGA? not keen to go back to that....however if the camera is as good as on my Ameo then I'll be rather happy

I do doubt that it will release 'on time.' The 8525 was rumored to have a release date of August 2006, but didn't release until mid November. The 8125 and Treo 750 both slipped many months. WM devices just don't get approved that easily on AT&T/Cingular.
I wouldn't be surprised it the 9825 slips until at least Oct. IF August was the initial target date. This is just my speculation and assumptions.

These are standard T-Mobile prices, just go to the T-Mob web site. Hopefully, my Vario III will arrive today - its being couriered rather than using Royal Mail

it is really cheaper than offical price.

Grey Diamonds...?

Hi all,
There are many reports of the Expansys units being grey - and not registering on HTCs site.
There is a thread at coolsmartphone.com were DeviceWire reports that it will be the FIRST distributor of the UK Diamond but this will be mid to late June: http://www.devicewire.co.uk/eshot/htc_touch_diamond_delivery/index.html
Mine is coming from TotalPDA. I just called them, they have stock but are under embargo and cannot send them until next Tue (10th). Question is, if DeviceWire say they are going to be first then are the TotalPDA ones gonna be grey too?
Has anyone got an Expansys one to register on HTCs site? Has anyone else got a TotalPDA order waiting? Has anyone else got any more information?

This is TOTALLY TRUE. I tried to register my phone through the HTC site and it doesn't recognise the Serial number. I bought mine through Expansys

Grey.........my mood!
I have just spoken to HTC who told me that I cannot register my expansys Diamond with club HTC because they have not updated the website database, he assured me that my 'grey import' has a full warranty which exspansys will honor and that I will be eligible for downloads once they have updated the servers.
Even more confusing, should I send the unit back or not??

Get that in writing!!!!

Expansys will honour the warranty as stated on their forums. But as for updates etc, id get what HTC have said to u in writing because some people are saying that HTC wont provide updates for any 'grey' Diamonds.

The expansys forums state that they themselves will honor any warrenty on the device.
I'm not too worried about lack of updates from HTC; Firstly 'cos they haven't been to quick in releasing them in the past, and secondly, that's why we're all here on XDA
Side note: Got mine yesterday. Loving it

Well they gave me a case reference, which will be e-mailed to me, when I get home from work I will post the e-mail.
I am a little concerned how exspansys have deleted the original forum thread from the Expansys website and have not returned my call requesting a returns number.....

Wich would suggest it's "grey". It's not the colour of the device ppl are referring to when they are talking about grey devices, only that it's an import from the asian market and HTC isn't too happy about that practice, and therefore limit your experience with lack of support..

as i said in another thread ANY DIAMOND device that HTC produces will be supported by HTC via warranty and You will be able to register your device on their site ONCE IT HAS BEEN UPDATED! ..

But there's conflicting reports. Some people are saying HTC will not support it outside HK, others are saying they will. I think you have to assume 'maybe' they will 'maybe' they won't. And if your that concearned call HTC yourself before you buy.

no problems registering Diamond with HTC
I had no problems registering my Diamond with HTC. Mine is a Hong Kong serial no so I Just registered it on the English Hong Kong site as the Australian site gave an error when I entered the serial. No issues at all now.

I've just talked to HTC customer service hotline in Denmark. He had to ask his boss but the conclusion was that HTC do have a worldwide warranty and if anything happens to my diamond I can ship it to UK (I live in Denmark) because they have a HTC global repair center there. I'll probably have to pay the shipping cost and it might take a little longer but the warranty will cover the repair. He said if it was him he would keep it.
I didn't get it in writing but he gave me a case no. and his name.

trinity to sell

i'd like to offer my trinity to sell hier before it goes ebay. it is 1 year old (nov. 2007), very good condition, battery is still very good. screen protector from the first day (new on will be delivered - enough for 3 applications). the trinity comes from vodafone (vpa compact gps), but it is unlocked and with german 6.1 rom, wwe works also, other languages should run too. it will be delivered with usb-cable, german charger (worldwide usage possible with adapter), case, original vodafone cd's, 1 GB mini-sd and belt case. if interested, offers per pm. payment is paypal, delivery i would say worldwide with tracking.

For German OS, French and Italian, at least here in Switzerland, it's beginning of May. For English, it's already shipped.

I've ordered the Touch Diamond 2 on march 23th. Today I've received an Email from Amazon.de today and they anounced a delay in delivery of the TD2 until 16. - 19. may

Talkthisway will ship the Touch Diamond 2 from 04.05. here in Germany. An employee of them already confirmed this in another forum.

Habe mein TD2 gestern hier in der Schweiz bekommen.
Super teil gegenüber dem alten TD1.
Suche nur noch nen guten Navi, TOMTOM scheint ja nicht zu gehen.

Just recieved my TD2 yesterday here in Switzerland.
Its a great piece of hardware, but still looking for a fully working version of tomtom. Maybe i have to switch to a diffrent navi software.

ok, guys, after a few calls, i found out that the D2 will arrive in romanian stores earliest on friday, 24.04.
other, more pessimist online shops were speaking of monday, 27.04.
i pre-ordered the D2 in one of the online shops - hope i'll get it soon.
my 1st gen iphone just let me down, and i really need a new phone. worst case scenario is that, if a D2 will not be available by the end of the month, i'll go for the HD.

Umm;Does anyone know a carrier release date of the D2 for Canada?

vllt wollen sie auf nummer sicher gehen und geben das Datum an an dem der D2 auf jedenfall da ist

contacted htc india to ask them about its release here they replied saying they have no news about the diamond2 release in india...i so want this phone hopefully till will be 3g and not 2g
