WTF did I do?
I've had this thing for 7 months without this type of problem. I had to hard reset a few weeks ago because the thing was getting too buggy with all the software I had added and removed.
I use SPB Time mostly for alarms. It had been working flawlessly. Now when I put the Tilt into standby mode, it seems to go into some sort of deep sleep in which the clock stops moving until I press the power button again. When I do that, the clock briefly flashes the previous time before updating to the current time but it misses the alarm that I had set.
I've looked at Kaiser Tweak but that doesn't seem to fix this issue.
In Kaiser Tweak, did you adjust the 2 options under "Notifications" to both be 60 seconds? The default is 1 second and that makes it malfunction just as you've described, 60 seconds fixes it. They aren't intuitively named, that's why I ask the seemingly inane question.

I read several posts about the phone freezing while charging or by itself. my phone does the same thing - has anyone figured out how to fix this problem - its really annoying to miss important calls because of that. my phone does it couple times a day and i am running one of the summiter roms and SBPocket weather and icalendar nothing else.
Any help would be appre :!: ciated
Never come across this untill 2 days ago. My phone appeared to have locked up - The time had not changed in 2 hrs, no buttons (hard or soft) would respond. I wish I had tried to call the phone to see if the radio would still respond but I only thought of it after I had reset it.
I have no idea what has caused it although the last thing I remember doing was kicking off an update of Journal Bar. Hasn't happen since.
Mine does the same thing, occasionaly. Most recently, today.
I connected it to the USB cable, Active Sync indicated that it was connecting, but never progressed past that. I forgot about it and a few hours later unplugged it from the computer and it was still frozen.
I didn't try to call it either, will do next time. I had to use the little soft reset button to reboot it.
Running summiter's TEST2 rom, plus PocketWeather SBSH and SBSH PocketBreeze 5.1.01. Also running RhinoStat v3.0.
Ok, I had my phone lock up on me again, this time the screen was off, the buttons wouldn't wake it, the only sign of life: blinking green LED.
I tried calling my phone number from the land line and it rang several times on the land line, but no ringing or activity from the wizard (other than it winking at me with the blinking green LED).
The frustrating parts are a) missed calls and b) you have no idea how long it's been frozen!
I had the same problem until I disabled the password feature. Now the mda never locks up. It use to be a blank white screen or no response at all. After I disabled the 4 digit password feature it has not locked up since. Just my 2 cents worth
[quote="The frustrating parts are a) missed calls and b) you have no idea how long it's been frozen![/quote]
Just a small point, I could always tell how long it was locked up because I display the clock in the top bar which displays the time it iced.
Oh by the way I don't and never have used passwords to secure the device.
Hi all,
i have the Kaiser for a week, and was thinking the batterry autonomy isn't especially amazing..
Then doing some research, i've found out that that despite the backlight setting set to be turned off after 30 sec, it was NOT turned off.
Switching setting to 1 min doesn't help either.
Setting it to 10 sec DOES work, the backlight turns off after 10 secs, BUT turns back ON after various seconds (sometimes +/- 11 secs, sometimes after 21 seconds...), then 10 secs later again off, etc etc... (cycle forever).
I did removed from the today screen both SPB Mobile shell and HTC Home (today screen = blank). But the problem is still there...
so the questions :
1) Does anybody experience that (it took me a full week of use to note this... can you try it on your Kaiser ?)
2) Any idea/solution to fix this ?
Best Regards,
Mike.
Just letting you know, that mine works as it should.
I dont have that bug .... but another bug:
After soft-reset, the battery backlight will be set to 10 seconds.
No clue yet why that happen.
When having issues like that try a hard reset and do not use a back up just set everything back up by hand. I found that most apps still are not ready for WM6 just yet since it really is a new OS even though we have had it for what seems like a very long time now.

When you set the back light to turn off, it doesn't actually turn off, instead it drops to minimum brightness. If you are in darkish room and so have the backlight set to minimum anyway, it looks like it isn't going off.
This is by design for Windows Mobile 6 devices, the Toshiba G900 was exactly the same. I can only guess it is because the screens are not trans-reflective, so they dim to the lowest level so you can still make out what is on the display and can tell it is still on, rather than in standby. This makes the behaviour seem similar to those moving from trans-reflective displays as while the backlight could go out completely, you could still make out what was on the display.
Regards
Phil
I'm having a problem where just about every morning I wake up and my phone is frozen and the home screen is showing distorted colors. Some times the interface will slightly change after touching the screen but not much else. This has been a big problem for me because for the past few days i've been late for work as I depend on my pocket alarm application to wake me up. (its the only alarm that wakes me up). I'm using Alex v5.20 CUBE rom. Any help? I've already run the google and I see a lot of cube related freezes but Im not sure if this is the case. I'm thinking its Home related.
maybe its having morning sickness hahhahahahah 0_o did you try a hard rest or going to the the setting for htc home disabling everythign soft rest and the turn it back on

Maybe it's the alarm application??? Uninstall Pocket Alarm and try the default alarm application once and see if your phone freezes the next day.
Thanks I'll try that and if it doesn't help I'll try a cleaner rom.
Tilt freezes
warm it up first
I have had my Diamond for about 5 days now. The other day I noticed it will get stuck in a constant weak vibrate. It seems that a vibe event will cause it to start, like the phone doesn't know to stop vibrating.
I call it weak, because while it is doing this, I can go to volume settings, select Vibrate and the much stronger vibrate even occurs. It seems if I shake the phone or move it around a bit the weak vibrating will stop.
Also shaking the phone sometimes causes this weak vibrating to begin.
Sounds like a mechanical issue ? I have installed some apps like GSen & SensorLock. A couple others like Advanced Config and done some of the registry tweaks.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Un install sensor lock and test. i had this issue with an old version ofthat application.
I have uninstalled both GSen (Since it wouldn't rotate SMS for me on Sprint Diamond) and Sensor Lock. The device is still doing this strange vibrate.
I noticed even when I hold the power button and turn it off (soft reboot?) it continues the odd vibrate. The vibrate will however stop when I remove the battery.
Just giving an update. The phone has stopped doing this strange vibrate action. Not sure if it was related to the program un-installation or not. As stated above it continued to do the vibrating action after the program was uninstalled, but definitely less frequently.
I had something very similar the other day. I'm using the swift ROM.
Its never happened before, and i've been using this same rom a for a while now.
ya i have the sprint diamond and mine did that the one time when i took it off the charger. it would vibrate pulses and the phone was like frozen. So i plugged it back in the charger and uninstalled sensorlock and its fine now

Somewhat off topic but did you find anything that rotates in SMS on the Sprint Diamond?
Don't blame it on Sensor Lock. I don't have that program installed & mine started vibrating non stop the other day. I couldn't get it to stop & finally did a hard reset. It still continued to vibrate all the way to the point where it got to the green Windows Mobile screen. It stopped, after that & it hasn't happened again since (this was on Saturday). I had done some of the reg tweaks for TF3D performance & nothing else.
sensor lock was the only program i had installed so it was the reason for me. as far as i know only way to rotate SMS with sprint diamond is the long press key
I have also done some of the reg key tweaks on my diamond. It did happen again last night, but before that it's been a few days. I had GSen installed, and it wasn't rotating on SMS, I think I read it wouldn't work with the Sprint Diamond.
What is the long key press method?
Hi everyone,
some days ago, I've got a new display into my phone. It is working fine and everything is running good except two things:
- The phone app does hang during an outgoing call. I cannot hang up the call, because there is a black screen, or the phone does not accept input either. When the screen keeps black, I can go back to the home screen pressing the middle button. But in the "system tray" there is no phone symbol. The behavior is changing from call to call. Sometimes the process crashes.
- When the phone is not used for some seconds or minutes it takes up to ten seconds to see someting after pressing the middle button. An interesting aspect is that when the mp3 player is running, there is no delay. Whenn I press the middle button the screen comes back immedialtely.
I have the Firmware 2.2.1 running and executed a hardware reset two times.
Has someone an idea what I can do to bring the phone app to work properly and to decrease the delay when I want to get the from out of the "sleeping mode".
Please excuse my bad english, I hope you got me right
What do you mean by a new Display...I assume you mean a new ROM or kernel and not actually replacing the screen.
Are you using any sort of app that controls or underclocks the CPU such as SetCPU? I used that app for a while to underclock the CPU while the screen was off and it caused the sort of hanging when answering calls that you described.
Also if this is a new kernel confirm that is is not underclocking or using UV to lower the voltage.
Thank you for your reply.
I replaced the display for hardware damage reason. No new kernel or something like that.
I've done 2 hardware resets. So I just have some standard apps on my phone.
Is there some app wich dispays the voltage and frequency of the cpu?
Ok guys, the problem is "solved".
I thought, that I would have to live with my delay und phone problems forever
But this weekend, my phone decided to workl properly as before. There is no delay when bringing back the screen from sleep and no process hanging up anymore. I did not invest more energy to solve that problem.
I dont know what happened internally, but I am extremly happy now
