I really don't understand because of all the screen shots I have seen but today I got my diamond and I only have the double keyed keybord ,but I want the full, usally in the screens shots there is a boten that you press and it changes the keybord. But i don't have it,so I went to settings keyboard and tried changing it to full qwerty, but no luck, can anyone help?
There should be a triangular looking icon next to the keyboard icon when you are in texting/email/document/etc mode. You click that icon, then a list pops up for you to select the input method.
I'd like to think that you've looked through the included instruction manual...
Thanks man,a minute after a posted this thread a have read the manual ,so Im embarrassed to say sorry for posting this

Might not work.. but just a suggestion, try it out if you have the time.
Recalibrate the screen.
Start - Settings - System
Screen
It's a long shot.. but hey.. you never know what might work.
tried that...
Hi LordRaj...
I tried that, but still no luck...
If I go to Start > Settings > Input, then I can see the list of keyboards. No matter which one I select it *always* puts it back to "keyboard".
not sure why, i'm using standard ROM that came with the phone.
help!

I have the same problem and there's another thread on this subject. There seems to be a few people now with this but no solution yet. If you look on the other thread, there is a utility called SIPChange which will allow you to make sure you get the "right" keyboard you want as default but in terms of selecting from the little arrow, forget it (until someone can work out which registry entries are causing this).
Gary.

Hi Gary,
Thanks for the reply...
I have been trying to figure it out all day...
Hi Gents, did anyone get this to work, I have also tried sipchange with the same results, it won't stick to any other keyboard other than diamond or builtin

when you say it won't stick, do you mean it changes back after a soft reset? I had that trouble with my current ROM but sipchange fixed it. try increasing the loading delay in sipchange.
I use TouchPal now which sets itself as default just fine - and I can't imagine needing any other keyboard again!

Thanks Davey101, tried the default 10secs, then 20secs and it did not work, after your advice I switched to 30sec and softReset, then 40sec the same affect.
Then I remembered in my Apache their was always a sipchange shortcut in Startup and when I checked the Diamond their was none, so I created one with the Set parm as my Apache, softreset and I am good to go.
i searched and searched and searched here, ppcgeeks, and all over the phone but cant find how to check the version of manila. i see some tweaks and mods only work on certain versions, such as mun_rus's extensions. so how can i verify which i currently have? thanks in advance.
At Settings tab, scroll to the bottom. There is some version information.
(not sure if it's what you want, though)
there is nothing in the settings area that i can find thats shows the manila version. please be specific
When at Settings tab, put your finger at center of screen, then move it up.
edit: included a shot to show what I mean.
holy hell! never knew that was hidden there. thank!
For me ther's nothing there!, on clicking it open one ureadeable page (even in bigger font available) in opera......

cko2 has the correct answer. Check the registry. If you are a noob like me and immediately asked "how do I do that", here's a tool I found that does the trick:
CeRegEditor
You run it from your PC while your phone is connected, and you can view and edit the registry from a Windows GUI. Btw "HKLM" is short for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
Btw, my settings tab also says "About (Copyright Information)" but no version number, and it turned out to be v2.1.19xxx after I checked the registry, so that's a good guess if your says the same.
PHM Registry Editor
Or use PHM Registry Editor. Install it onto your device, and you can view/modify whatever registry key you like. At your own risk of course.
But, as stated above, /HKLM/SOFTWARE/HTC/Manila/Version
Just wondering does anyone know how to change the time?
Also, whenever someone calls it doesnt slide to answer/ignore? Anyone know how i could fix this
Sorry, but what do you mean with change time? Timeformat?
Slide to answer? Did you try the S2U2 settings and switch the functions on?
As far as I know the time synchronises with the phones clock, you just have to go into the S2U2 settings and switch the options around. Same for the S2 Answer/Ignore! Unless youve got the older S2U2 which I dont believe had the menu?

Or alternatively, if by changing time you mean changing the appearance of the clocks, you'll find the other clock skins along with the main installer in the zip file you downloaded. Unzip these to the gfx folder under s2u2. Of course assuming that you downloaded the latest version i.e. 1.37.
When i say change the time, i mean the 24 hour clock. Mine goes from 0:00 to 24:00, i would like to have a 12 hour clock( or US time? or w/e).
I looked in the settings and dont see any answer button
Edit: Wow, I am a moron. I did not realize you could scroll up and down in the settings, I just thought there were only like 6(the first ones you see when you open up the settings).
Sorry everyone, thanks for the help though.
Hi All,
Just updated my Touch Diamond 2 to TOM's new WM 6.5 ROM. I'm happy with everything, but the new start menu is a little awkward. Its very small, and it shows everything. I liked HTC's original TouchFlo 'Programs' tab, as this allows me to add shortcuts to the apps I use most, and hide the remaining ones in the "All Programs" soft key.
However, I don't know how to change it so when I click the Start Menu (or the hardware button) it opens the Programs screen. I'm sure its a registry setting, but I don't know which one exactly.
Any help would be appreciated.
I dunno whether this will be the one for you, but it's worth taking a look at:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\EnlargeMenu]
"EnableManilaStartMenu"=dword:00000001

Thanks, but this doesn't seem to work. Even a reset doesn't change the start menu behaviour.
Can anyone else help?
hard reset?
as the title ...
How about this one:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila]
"EnableStartMenu"=dword:00000001
(perhaps in conjuction with the other one)
Hi to you all. I wonder if anyone could help me, as i can´t find any help on older threads. On dialer there´s a button "Note". During call, if clicked, take us to, i guess, standard WM Notes application. How can i change this shortcut to Screenwriter or Apmemo?
Thanks,
C´mon guys this is not a hard one I suppose. Or is? Regards.
Dump the M$ app and rewrite it the way you want ?

lol or look through reg @ phone settings mind you i think it's hardcoded "but could be wrong"
New htc song plays in background while placed on hold
You both are not helping at all. I read somewhere that the spirit/goal of this forum is not that kind of behavior.
I don´t need standard notes at all. I think that if i can find the executable and the parameters of the link on the button, i can replace it with a shortcut or even a mortscript.
Anyway thanks for your reply as now i know you both can´t help.
Regards.
Um so the look through the reg for phone doesn't help?
It's not going to be a .lnk and as previously stated the button will most probably be hardcoded.
Looking throu reg finds nothing also i doubt another software would follow the default format of note.
So my hunch says no you cant.
I can´t find a clue on registry. Thanks Stylez.
