Hello,
Those of you who have experience with BB handhelds probably recon JiveTalk.
Its probably the best IM application out there for the BB platform, with this port to WM6 maybe its a compeditor to the WLM which is per default installed on our phone
Aparently now they are developing a WM6 version of it aswell.

Now that we have a WM6 Rom avaliable for the Wizard, does anyone know how to extract certain programs and replace them in the WM5 Roms??
Particularly the Email client and Remote Desktop
Now you may ask why the he!! don't you just use the WM6 Rom?
Because I am in a corporate environment where I use the program provided by the company to both sync and access my information (Lotus Notes) Intellisync and OneBridge and neither of those have support for the yet to be "Officially Released" WM6
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Well, bad and good news for you. First of all, what you are asking probably will not work. Good news is, you DONT NEED SUPPORT!~!! WM6 is STILL CE5, its just a minor upgrade (like windows 98 to windows98se). So.... most likely your programs will function perfectly. It is very rare when a wm5 program does not function in wm6 and useually those are system tweaking programs. I would make a complete backup of your device and try wm6.... you might be pleasantly surprised.
But moving apps from Crossbow/WinMob 6/5.2 to WinMob 5 isn't as easy and depends on how they were compiled. Most MS stuff won't work without modification I think.

Hi, ALL
I have G3 T-Mobile MDA (Wizard), running Wm5 custom ROM from Xelencin and latest Radio ROM.
Also I have installed
SPB Diary, Pocket Plus, Weather, Imageer, Backup
Resco File Explorer
PhotoDialer Plug-in
WM5Storage
MemMaid
Some RSS Reader
iGuidance
MS VoiceCommand 1.5
IMPlus, Skype
Yahoo 2 Go, Google Maps, Live Search
TCPMP
etc
most of these on 2GB miniSD. Everything works. I use most of that from time to time.
I saw faria WM6 ROM. I saw MB Rom, I saw Mun's Rom. My question is - do I need to upgrade to WM6 ? Will it add something, which probably I'm missing ?
Or it is just to have latest Windows Mobile OS ?
Second big question - will my apps work with WM6 ?
Also if moderators think this question belongs to Wizard Mobile 6 forum, can you please move it

Do you need to upgrade? Probably not. I will say that most (not all) of the custom roms will give you more space and will run faster than the stock official roms.
Will add something, which you are probably missing? The quick answer is yes. You are missing the frustration that some of us go through with these . Seriously though, its hard to answer it, but for me I find the custom roms more stable than my original Cingular 2.25, faster, gives me more room on the phone itself, and just more fun to play with (but then I'm a geek).
I can't honestly say why the draw to WM6 other than the geek factor involved and the ability to show friends and coworkers that you are running WM6 (and they don't care anyone or don't even know what you are babbling on about).
I would suggest you at least give Faria's or Molksi's 2.3 and 3.3 ROMs a try even if you aren't interested in WM6. They are VERY nice and stable. But also, understand that you will have to fiddle and tweak with your phone for a day or two to get it back to where you want it.

I've used Spb Backup, Resco Explorer, WM5torage, Memmaid, MS VoiceCommand 1.6 all on Faria's AKU 3.3, WM6 MBE, and Faria's WM6 "the real thing" and they all work.
I'll defer to others on the rest of your list.
I know you didn't list it but, as you are using other spb products,
spb time doesn't fully work
How did you get Yahoo go 2?
double post
I received email with Yahoo go 2 and there was a link. Just went there and install. Dont remember exactly, but something like that
It's only available for smartphones... You don't happen to have a link/file handy? :d
Yahoo Go 2 for smartphones and pocket pc phones:
This is where I got mines from, they had it as an option when it first came out but now it is hidden and they want your phone information to send it to you.
This link will get you the cab. file and the active sync download.

That link is Yahoo Go 1, which I am running right now.
I tried a couple of 6.1 ROMs here but they seems only porting the themes of 6.1 device, appearing like 6.1 ROM but don't have 6.1 applications such as new Office Mobile, OWA mail sync, New MSN messenger etc. Even control panel applets are copied from WM2003 ROM.
I am looking for a ROM support most of 6.1 features such as OWA and new MSN messenger.
If the Flash ROM of XDAII is too small, can we install them on storage card or RAM Disk?
well first of all these are not just themes..its a fruit of all the Developers and cooks...If you want a real WM 6.1..then i suggest you buy Htc Diamond..it has every thing ( no offence )
I have to say sorry for my words that sound offensive to ROM chefs. I just tried c_shekhar's ROM it does have new Office Mobile and supporting OWA. However mail and poutlook use PPC2003 style UI and MSN messenger looks quite old (it couldn't connect for some reason).
I do have WM6.1 devices (even used HTC diamond for a few weeks) so I know differences.
Thanks for developers great works to give rebirth to this old but classic device.
By looking at other WM5 devices that using customized WM6.x ROMs such as XDA mini, I wonder there might be a XDA2 ROM does as good as them.
Well, these are true WM6.1 ROMs, but they're cut down, as Himalaya is running off its ROM space, and a whole WM6.1 wouldn't fit into it...
Has anybody successful tested a 6.5 ROM with the actual BB Connect .106 application. If yes what is your carrier/provider. What are your experiences.
Thanks in advance, Thorsten

i've tried on 6.5 roms and cant get anything to work either.
i can get stuff pushed through on 6.1 easily but its plain text and won't let me click on any links (invalid parameter??)
i've spoken to blackberry/winmo reps plus their retail specialist team, most of them haven't been questioned on connect in about 3 years. think its because blackberry don't support connect much any more. plus until the blackberry bold came out they didn't do html emails.
if you know which roms fully support connect on 6.1 i'd be keen to know as i've tried many and still can't get it fully functional
Working great with WM6.5 : EnergyROM HD (21820)

Just remember to set the aku version before installing bbconnect:
HKLM\system\versions\aku\.1.4.0
did you get both mail & browser working ? I am using Duttys R3 and I am able to get my mail but browser does not work
Hi gurus,
I'm using a software (designed for my company) working only with netcf1.0. So i cannot use it on Wm6.1.
I have made tests and this software works well only on WM6.0 and less.
So to avoid compilation cost and time, i wish to cook a custom rom like this.
Download kaiser WM6.0 rom : important --> i dont think a WM6.0 jade rom exist
Download Jade WM6.1 rom
replace kaiser drivers with jade drivers
rebuild rom and pray
do you think this can work ?
i know, its a risky business to play with fire
waiting for your opinion about the feasibility of this process
thank you in advance for all your reliable help and feedback
from a developer's point of view:
why not going to get an update of the desired app?
it's quite difficult these days to get 6.0 devices.
NETCF V2 supports NETCF V1 applications with high degree of compatibility.
if it's a clean programmed app, there should be not more to do, than taking the vs2003 project, convert it to a vs2005 project, and run the 2.0 compiler.
I'd rather ask the app's developer for update-costs, than hunting for a ROM with limited functionality (but even more bugs).
ME TOO
I have the same problem with a piece of software for our field engineers, we are a sub contractor and have no control over the software developer. What i have found however is many 6.5 cooked roms work ok
