Hi guys.
When I send long text messages, say 3x160 characters, it send the text as a multimedia message. This is highly annoying as I have unlimited texts on my tariff and I get charged for multimedia messages as its not included in my contract. Is there any way to solve with the default Galaxy S application?
Not too fond of Handscent and I just want something simple that works and I dont care too much for all the bangs and whistles of the Handscent app/alternatives.
Change rom dude, developers have noticed this and have hacked the mms app to allow users to have an unlimited amount of SMS pages without it automatically converting to mms, that's all I can advise bud, change rom

Is it possible to just replace the app with the modified version? I'm currently on stock odexed 2.3.4 (jvq)
Hi all,
When you go to share a contact card via the contacts app or by clicking attach in the SMS app. It appears ICS is missing this function.
I have seen a couple of posts on this but none mention a native solution.
So my question is: Is there a native way to add SMS to the stock ICS 'share list' for sending contacts, or is this something to do with either contacts or SMS not exposing their 'intent' correctly?
Thanks in advance.

Tap and hold on the number, it will give you the option to copy it ;-)
Thanks NoXiScz,
I'm aware of how Copy and Paste works in ICS
I'm looking for a native solution.
I have found an app that puts sharing by SMS into the contacts, but it doesn't seem to work the same way as the native did on Gingerbread.

On ICS I used a phone dealer who have this function, for example rocket phone dealer.

On gb we had the option and now ics lacks it? What kind of evolution is this???
When using the stock SMS app, I always use it in landscape as that is most effective way for me to type. When I am finished typing the message and press send, the typing box and keyboard stay put. Is there any way to make is automatically go away so I can see the chat window instead of having to press the back button every time I was to see the full chat window? This is extremely annoying. I want to stay stock and with the stock SMS app. Thanks

Bumping once... anybody?
The stock keyboard is garbage.. download "TouchPal X" from the app market. It has an arrow which gets rid of the keyboard. It's free and it's great and highly customizable

As long as a text box has focus, the keyboard will stay active. This is not a function of the SMS app, but of the OS in general.
Many thanks for the replies!!!!

Does anyone have any recommendations on any keyboard apps? I want to be able to respond to text messages via the watch using a keyboard.
Also, what text message app do you use?
I use "Coffee" - works very well. Only keyboard I've seen is on Wear Mail and it's just too cumbersome for more than a couple words. I haven't seen a text messaging app with a keyboard but I'm sure they exist.
Hello, I purchased the Wear Messenger app and I like except my phone has a SIM and I can use it without my phone so when Im out and need to text using this app I cant because it doesn't have the option to send a text from my phone OR my watch and which is what functionality Im looking for in a texting app besides a keyboard.
Now the default Messenger sms app has this built in but it has no keyboard and I really like the Wear Messenger one its easy to use for me. Any ideas on what I can do or if there is an app out there that has these features im looking for? Thanks!
