Yes, BatteryStatus is doing this (take the beta). I have BatteryStatus in my SecondToday.

WM6 Crossbow battery drain

Hi to all,
I, among some others am experiencing battery drain since upgrading to WM6 even though I am running under the same circumstances as before the upgrade with just a few less programs running etc. If anyone can shed any light on a fix for this or suggestions (turning off bluetooth has no great effect) then I would gladly like to hear them.
I know Malik is also experiencing the problem so I know I am not alone.
Thanks.
I am experiencing the exactly the same great battery usage rates between faria, super rom, and wm6. All overclocked at 260.

when u overlock a device it drains the battery much much faster then u expect so to help that don't overlock but if u overlock then the battery goes mad because overlocking takes great deal of amount out to make the device faster.

I overclocked to 264 (omap) / 286 (bs) MHz without issues. It seems the cpu drains the batt a lot only during "heavy" task execution, e.g. playing a game or watching a movie that is not adapted to qvga. Most of time it just sleeping, as before.
So, i flashed wm6 (pdaviet v.3) and have noticed the same or even less battery drain as before (when my wizard is left alone). You have to check all you're installed to fugure out "the swine"

i have it overclocked to 299 with batterystatus, and no battery drain... the OS isntalled is pdaviet v2 ...
If anything, I've found WM6 to be *better* on battery life than any of the previous WM5 AKUs.
AKU 3.3 would be the best in the WM5 range.
I've also found that the battery life on my device has dramatically increased. I don't have to charge it now for about an extra two days compared to before.
This has been an issue with me as well. I'm running the clean Crossbow ROM (aka Orwells1984 et.al.) Here are the programs I have been running:
2.19 radio rom
Resco Med. Suite 5.42
Pocket Weather
Sprite Backup
Smartskey
Omapclock @ 240mhz
CE Star
I had issues with the today plugin from Resco cutting down my battery life on the old iPAQ 6365. Haven't had ANY problems with previous AKU 3.x versions.
If you're using omapclockplus your device is at normal speeds during standby. I think its the crossbow radio that drains it. Switching between OSs might not change your rom, leaving the battery drain

CB does not come with radio. CB is only OS updated.

maybe it really is the radio... i moved to 2.17 and since then no battery problems, but im not for sure its that, but possibly since i have same apps installed on fresh WM6 as before when i had battery probs.
Well, I finally did a hard reset and lo and behold the battery drain problem is gone. I had it off the charger for most of the day and kept the WiFi on a bit as well. The ROM on which I really noticed the problem was the Pdaviet3. I'm going to reinstall the Resco Today plugin and see if that does anything. I love this ROM. Clean and fast!
try disconnect "Error reporting". It's on by default.

Weird.. I did this last night too and it seems to have cured the problem...
Anyway I still have the automatic power up issue... Is there a solution other than locking the device? i.e. A registry edit to turn off push email?
I think the battery drain problem MAY have been solved by the hard reset as well.
Tomorrow will be my second day of use since hard reset so I will report my findings.
I remember (when I had Motorola MP220) advice for longer battery life: device should be 100% charged when flashing new ROM. If not, charge it 100% and do the hard reset.
BTW, I had battery drain with Pdaviet ROM v3, 'cose the smatskey was set for overclocking by default.
i own a xda mini s with crossbow (orwells ROM and Radio 1.19), i use direct push and don't have any battery problem.
Had the same problem: batter drained 2 or 3 times as fast as regularly.
Used:
- TomTom6
- SPB Weather
- PocketPC Wakeup
- Resco todayplugin
- Todaytime
Just did a hard reset and reinstalled TomTom & SPB weather.
Everything ran fine, til I installed PocketPC Wakeup.CAB...
So that one might be the problem....
Anyone else tested their software for batterydraining problems?
batterystatus might also be a problem.
I hard reset, did not install batterystatus but installed rest of my normal apps; this solved both my wakeup issues and battery drain issues.
P.S. simply uninstalling batterystatus did nothing, had to reset.
No batterystatus is not the cause because the first time when I had the issue was without batterystatus ever being installed. The problem hasn't really been back even though I now have it installed.

MEASURE BATTERY USAGE (acbPowerMeter)

Found this tool on the net. Installed it and works great. Maybe btw all of us we can map what uses the battery the most then come up with a solution.
doesnt work with my kaiser - it returns unrealistic values (0*e+9)...

sam here.....used to work on the P3600 though....
As a kind of side note to this -battery meters in themselves are notorious for draining the battery and causing hangs.

Wow Calinosu not sure what to say. Any number of apps that you have installed could be causing this issue. I know a number of people suspect S2U2 and Gyrator2 of being battery hogs but I run both and don't seem to have a problem. All I can suggest is do a hard reset and install one app at a time and see where things start to go wrong, other than that it would be a guessing game as we have no idea what you've installed.
If I run Gyrator 2, my phone will go from fully-charged to completely dead in about 7 hours, and that's without me even touching it.
Hello and good morning,
i have a lot of trouble with my battery while i using a docking station from eBay. This dockingstation discharge my battery in one night. I think, there was a problem with the external power.
Now, without this dockingstation and only a USB connection it works fine.

I run Gyrator 2 as well and as far as I can tell is has no impact on battery life.

Battery temperature monitoring software

I've searched but came up short. Is there an application I can install on the Touch Pro that will give me a readout of the temperature of the battery in real time? I am curious to know the temp the charging circuit cuts off and also how much heat is generated while running different radios, wifi, gps, bluetooth. Thanks.

BatteryStatus, or it's newest version HomeScreen PlusPlus.
check this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416334&highlight=htc+debug+tools
Try PowerGuard I think that tells the temperature of the battery.

Pola100 battery level

Hi all,
I'm using "polaimg-panel3-240x320-2.6.32-froyo-27-08-10_23.nbh" 08/27 with last build RLS14 and I would like to set "/sys/module/board_kaiser_battery/parameters/battery_capacity" to 2000 instead 2700 as default parameter for this kernel. That should be give a better real battery level(???)
Nbh editor don't let me made these changes.
Thanx

If you're using a polaris, you can't set kaiser battery levels. Those don't affect polaris users. Afaik you can only alter kaiser battery levels.

ok!
will see for further improvements
thanks!!!
Have you tried to remove the batterystats.bin after full charge and then give it 3-4 full down and recharges?
I think its "okay" then but the 15% are quite a problem...
Havent tried a rom for long yet, dont know if this really helps much but i think its good against extreme jumps in the battery lvl.
