Audio booster without handsfree SOLUTION!!! - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

if you want to use audio booster with external speaker and no handsfree connected do the following:
go to
HKLM/System/State/Hardware/Headset
set the value to 1
this will enable FM radio too but, obviously, you cannot hear any FM station because you have NO antenna on ExtUSB pin 7
sof resetting device may restore original (0) value

I've tried to adjust the handsfree from 0 to 1 and speaker from 0 to 1.. but how can I get the speaker to be switched on? We've got some pretty strong FM-signals here that I could hear without the headphones to be attached... any idea?

It's smarter than that - it doesn't work at all I'm afraid - at least not for me while I tested it then (by pressing the 'Speaker' button in the FM Radio app).

Ugly sound from my i.tech r35

upgreading to 2.8.7 last night, go to buy an itech r35 stereo bt headset this morning...... and..... bad sound comes from my earphone when i open wmp and play mp3...... ............which cost me 550 CNY
you're using the a2dp profile?
what exactly do you mean by ugly sound?
i have s35, too. but i haven't tried it with the a2dp yet.
I have the WWE A2DP rom loaded, I have a S38 and I have found that once paired it works but if you turn off the headset and turn it on it does not connect the stereo profile again, you have to go in to the bluetooth device and tap set bluetooth stereo audio to get it to work again.
Have you found this?
yea...same here...i have the itech BlueBAND...and everytime i turn it off, i have to reconnect it manually via the bluetooth settings.
anothing thing is...sometimes my music gets cut for a few seconds and it comes back....this happens when i dont use a sim card (PDA only mode)...anyone else found this?

using the motorola ht820 headphones connect as soon as i switch on the headset, the headphones make a low quality sound then a nice quality sound as the bluetooth streaming is found. no need to re-pair.
i have noticed a loss of sound sometimes, but this seems to coincide with other people near me on the train turning on their phones.
hmm...guess its an Itech thing. Hope it get works out by the final release. I love the earbuds, or we will be looking for the motorola.
I have the same problem (sound being cut) with Anycom BSH-100 stereo headset. To my amazement, I found out that I can cut down these disturbances if I place the phone on my sleeve instead of on the belt. Also, it happens much less when I'm static - as opposed to riding my bicycle (for which I bought the BT headset in the first place). I'd love to find out who's the culprit - whether the headset, the RF in the K-Jam - or the software (in which case there's hope for an improvement).

where did you download the profile for 838/9100?
my device can't work with s35, so my s35 has to stay in a side.

Switch from BT Voice Speed Dial to headset capability

I like to listen to music or the radio (Resco) with my Jawbone or other BT headset.
I also like to occasionally use Voice Speed Dial by tapping on my BT headset and speaking a name to dial.
How does one turn one of those functionalities off or just switch between the two. (? registry setting). When I have the single ear BT headset on and want to have the music on the Kaiser switch to the headset by tapping on the headset - voice speed dial starts instead.
Obviously, the S9 stereo headset can do both - as you pair it show that you can choose both but other single ear BT headsets do not have a option for wireless music.
I have used it in the past with my old HTC Universal - it was a registry setting change - but that setting is not there in the Kaiser. (HKLM/Software/OEM/Voicecommand/launchapenable (changing 1 to 0) made this work).
Any ideas?
Maybe the question should be - how does one turn Voice Speed Dial off?
Sorry I have no answer that really helps but one thing is clear to me is the difference between one-ear BT headsets and stereo (S9 like) bt headset : they don't use the same bluetooth profile.
the one-ear one connects via the Headset profile and the stereo ones connect with the A2DP one (stereo bluetooth).
My 2 cents : Jabra has released a headset made of two parts : this is a stereo a2DBheadset that brings stereo by connecting a separate earphone to the first one. It sure brings headphone and A2DP bluetooth profiles : maybe it can be used with A2DP profile with only one ear linked ?

is there a registry tweak to raise bt headset volume?

is there a registry tweak to raise bt headset volume?
Check KaiserTweak by jongma
the version i have definately does not have increase volume for bt headset unless im missing something blatantly obvious?
This is a known issue, search BT volume or such then you will know.
This may work for you
I have installed the zip file contained in the following link on the Hermes forum when I had sound issues with my bluetooth stereo headphones, after install, the sound quality of the headsets tested improved drastically.
I also had a problem with low volume when answering calls via the headsets which also seemed to have been fixed by the patch :

Bear in mind that the settings are for improving A2DP quality.
thank you all for your help

BitPool - 0 (field blank, did not type 0 into field, just used check box with no entry in field before writing changes to registry)
MaxSupportedBitPool - 0 (as above)
SampleRate - 48000
JointStereo - 1 (default)
The Jabra Bt320s had the best results whereas the pulsar 260 had an improvement although not as good as the Jabra, reviews say the the pulsar 260 has issues with microsofts BT stack which I think is the main problem.

HW issue - Can't hear caller after reassembly

Hello,
I have replaced the headphone jack on my Z3 Compact as the old one wasn't working properly. The usual issue with this model as it seems.
After reassembly of the phone everything works fine but one thing - I can't hear any callers via the default earpiece.
Details:
It works ok if I put the call on the loudspeaker.
The caller can hear me (so the mic is ok).
Music Player & FM radio work ok in both mono and stereo mode if headphones are plugged in.
Music via loudspeakers works ok (both speakers).
In service test *#*#7378423#*#* -> Service Test -> Stereo speaker left is silent, no sound at all. Stereo speaker right is ok.
In settings - about phone - diagnostics the Ear Speaker test fails as well
As no software was changed/updated, I presume it is a HW connection issue after the reassembly.
Which connection might cause this problem?
I will reassemble the phone again, but I have no idea which connector is creating the problem.
The phone is obviously past its warranty date, so I want to try and fix this myself. Thank you.
