STARCRAFT on the diamond? - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

I have looked through many forums recently, and I have yet discovered at starcraft game for the pocket pc. I have finally realized that pocketDOS won't do the trick, because it is build upon 8-bit architecture while starcraft/warcraft was build upon 16-bit plus extended memory requirements.
After that I discovered that someone got warcraft II working on a PPC. To do this they used stratagus for pocket pc and then converted the original warcraft-game in wargus. I looked further and I discovered stargus (starcraft) which is also running on the same engine (stratagus).
AND...I wonder if someone on this forum would make stargus work with the stratagus pocket pc engine??
I even think people would pay to have starcraft on their PDA
PS: I'm a noob on programming myself so don't yell if i am totally wrong here..and my English is probably bad

Starcraft is a Win32 x86 32bit at-least 800x600 protected mode application using DirectX - I don't think it will run on any WiMo 640x480 PPC within the next 10 years unless someone finds impressive amounts of spare time to emulate an entire x86 Win32 environment along with DirectX...

there goes my dream...
thanks for the help anyway...

software disc

I had received a DVD from Ebay with various files on it for various systems with the hope of applying some of these to my MDA (which runs PPC 2003). Hopefully in the process learn something about how the internals of the MDA works. I was hoping to use that old classic called ‘Galaxions’ but see that the extension of this file is ‘NES’ does anyone know if this will run on a MDA or can it be converted or does anyone know where to get a PPC version of this?
Or indeed what type of file is it. The problem with buying these discs is that they combine everything and their granny on them but I only really wanted software for the MDA/PPC platform.
Thanks John.
a dvd with files on it ?
thats kinda vague i mean files can be pictures from some guys granma's birthday
or they can be programs or.......................
this is an emulator to play NES as in Nintendo Entertainment System games on pocketpcs

OpenGL ES Games

Hi,
I've tried some OpenGL ES games (usually designed for the X51v)...
Those games don't work, I've got a message "untrusted certificate..."
Call of Duty 2 (software version OK) (www.aspyr.com)
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 (software version OK) (www.ionfx.com)
Yeti 3D Engine (www.sourceitsoftware.com/yeti.html)
Chopper Fight (www.omnigsoft.com)
Solterra (http://www.blacksmithstudios.com/solterra/)
Enigmo (www.aspyr.com)
BUT !!!
Stuntcar Extreme accelerated (X51v version) works with our devices but it's very slow... (about 5 fps)...
Strange thing that this game works... about the speed, I really don't know if it's our driver or the poor 3d chip...
I'll try some others...
I don't know what the error message means... somone has an idea ?
Thanks for the info! im very interesting in diamond games performance as its one of main reasons for me to buy it!
have you tried any games on the playstation emulator FPSECE? or PocketSnes?
Thanks
According to the poor GLBenchmark performances, and Stuntcar Extreme OGLES, it seems to be a poor graphic chipset...
Or maybe a poor driver (libgles_cm.dll) but I bear on the first option...
A 3D Accelerator is all that is needed to play such games with requirements that aren't that much really, they need to be optimised for the diamond, or there is some driver issue, that is all.
Most OpenGL ES games I have tried don't work at all for me, Stuntcar Extreme won't even start either will Solterra and that looks pretty good
i managed to run COD2 in hardware mode, very good frame rame rate too!
so i guess its not about a poor 3d chip but more a software issue
check here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=428703
I got Tony Hawk to run with hardware accel!!!the frames are sluggish..maybe needs some tweaking....

Solterra
If anyone is interested I have found Solterra for X51v. Tried it on my Diamond:
.DLL files found in main directory are HSS.DLL and ZLIB1.DLL
The game gave me an "Untrusted" error upon start. Copied and renamed lebgles_cm.dll from Windows directory to ZLib1.dll, replaced original. Same thing.
Downloaded sdkcerts.cab and installed. Ran Solterra. Same thing.
Downloaded lebgles_cl.dll (thanks NuShrike!) wrapper, game starts then quits. (Windows Titlebar changes to Solterra momentarily but nothing is visible.)
Downloaded CUBE 2004 x51v, copied and renamed ZlibCE.dll to Zlib1.dll. Solterra can be seen in Windows Titlebar indefinitely. Let PDA sit for 2 minutes. Nothing happened. Screen unresponsive to stylus. Pressed Home Key, Diamond returned to home screen and Solterra crashed.
I have heard a few debates about whether Solterra is freeware or not. The last time I checked the site was down, and Solterra is essentially abandonware (I heard if you clicked the "BuyNow" button on the homepage, you could download the full game for free for a limited time...) but since the site is gone and no information is available I will refrain from posting the link until someone can prove it is freely distributable. (I don't want to anger the mods and get banned on my first post!)
If anyone has any other ideas to get the game running, please let me know. I'll share my results and help others get the game running too. If you want the files, just prove the game is freeware and ill upload it somewhere and post the link. Thanks!
ROM: aFast 2.03 (b30)
Radio: v1.09.25.23
i m looking for solterra for a long time ... where did you find it ?
Please .....

quake bots on pocket quake

i know you can have bots on the pc version of quake. is it possible to bring this over to ppc, its essentially the exact same game so it should be doable. any ideas
could you not just add the pak, game dlls and any qc files in a subdirectory and then run "pocketquake -game <name-of-bot-folder>" like on the PC? You might be better off finding one that doesnt rely on dlls as i think they will probably have to be recompiled before they can be used on arm architecture.
well im really not to learned on stuff like that. i was wondering if anybody could send me a link for bots and where to place the files

ResFix or RealVGA resolution switcher?

I've searched the forums and cannot find an answer...
My old e800 had a program called ResFix that would put it in QVGA mode. Great for some programs that get very laggy on a VGA device. I see that another HTC device has a program called RealVGA that does the same thing. I don't think it works on Raphael. Is there a utility that does this for the Fuze or Touch Pro?
Yes there is, it's calles wvgafix3. It only supports switching between wvga, vga and sqvga though.
Hope this helps
Thanks!
I saw this program. I was focused on finding something that would switch to QVGA for playing my old games. I've had windows PDAs since they were called a Palm PC. I think Microsoft got sued for that one. Anyway, since you specifically mentioned it, I tried it instead of passing it by. It works great. My games play smoothly in square VGA were they get laggy in real vga. Very odd. It's always been that way on VGA, though. I had a Toshiba e800 on PPC 2003 and it behaved exactly the same way.
Everything is a bit "squished", but it plays very smoothly and that's good enough for me!

Tibia Micro Edition

Ok guys i just want to get some help from more experienced people if it comes to PDA applications. Tibiame is cool mmorpg for mobile phones but, unfortunately, there is no windows mobile version. There are JAVA versions and symbian versions.
www.tibiame.com is the games main site
Java version can be ran on JBLEND , and application knows the resolution but only menu is full screen while actual game is very little and unplayable , unless u can see whats written on such a low screen. So what i basically want is making the game think my screen resolution is smaller and then stretch it to full screen (stretched pixels will be much better than what i can get now).
Other thing is running symbian application which resolution is 360x640, but i have never heard about running .sis on WM.
Thanks for help !
