I am finding a Japanese keyboard for Diamond
My Rom is Chinese Traditional, dunno if it is HK Rom or TW Rom
Then I reached here: http://my.opera.com/cameron_en/blog/2008/02/03/ime-complete-installation-files-download-section
I tried following the instructions there but I cannot use henkan (変換) button, or even backspace.
My activated ChangJie input cannot be used as well.
The black bar (start menu bar) was on the top of the green screen which the texts "Windows Mobile 6.1" are there when I boot up my phone after the JP keyboard is installed, and the icons on the bar were not on there places. For example, the windows flag is in the middle.
I found they are not useful I uninstalled them all, the default input "ChangJie" can be used without problems, but the black-bar problem is not solved, I have to hard reset my phone.
Question: Now I haven't hard reset it yet, and want to know
1, How can I make the Japanese input works without any problems
2, Could anyone please let me know if there is another JP input for WM6 which works.
Thanks, and sorry for my Eng coz I am a Chinese.
Today I did a hardreset and reinstall IME without Chinese files, Korean files, enabler files and registry fix
All the problems were still here, until I uninstall the korechithai.cab, ChangJie started to work, but those JP IME input method has the following results:
Kana: Only Katakana can be type but cannot Henkan (変換)
Romaji: Only English and Numbers can be typed.
I only hope the two above works, Tegaki and Kensaku are about handwrite which I think is so inconvenience, although these two works quite fine.
I also tried Bagojs Input but all its input methods have to use handwrite.
Glad to hear if there is another Japanese input keyboard or make the Ask IME_31J works.
Thanks
hello!
i'm searching a cab to read japanese, but i can't find anything, have u any idea to do it?
Maybe inside the web the cab korechithai.cab meets you needs.
But I suggest you backup first because I dunno about this!~
Hi all, I've been unable to find a solution to this strange and irritating problem...all I have managed to find is this post describing the same thing.
Basically the phone will suggest words incorrectly and not show the real word you actually want. If you delete it and type the same again though it'll appear as normal. This occurs using both the Phone Keypad and Compact Qwerty.
Secondly the first word in the suggested list is a nonsense word every time though it is at least not selected.
e.g. typing hello on the Phone Keypad displays "gdjjm" before hello or "gello" using the Compact Qwerty.
I first encountered this after installing Dutty's latest ROM even though the change log for that says it's fixed. Today though I installed CT's latest ROM instead which initially had fixed the problem, however suddenly it is back just the same as before. If anyone has any idea what's causing this, or more importantly how to fix it, it'd be very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Mik
Anyone got any ideas?
Ive got the exact same problem. Quite annoying.
Im also on dutty's V4.
For example for me, i press 8 then 4 then 3 (to get the word "the") and it will produce something like "vif", which obviously isnt a word, i will delete the three characters and repress 8,4,3 and i will get the word "the" with other alternative suggestions. Happens only sometimes, and i think ive pressed a wrong button, but when i work out the letters, i know ive pressed it correctly.
Any help would be great (maybe this should be posted into dutty's thread)

Im also using dutty v4, and i get stuff like that happening all of the time.
for eg, i type "res" for "rest" and the suggestions are: "residents, bisho" , "Research" , "result" , "rest"
another, if i type "arg" for "argue" the first suggestion is "argumentation" then "argumentative" then "arguement" and there is no argue!!
i mean WTF is residents, bisho? i have never added that to my dictionary in my life!
Someone at Micro**** neads to learn how to spell, or optimize the way the dictionary is utilised.
It is funny, when i had a hermes, it came with windows mobile 5 and there was no problems there!
anyone know how to fix this?
I have the exact same "problem".
I'm not on dutty's, but am using CT's Version 6.4 HD now (used a few other versions of him too) and the problem occurs in all these versions.. Even the original ROM had this problem in my case.
It can be a little annoying so I hope there is a solution for this..

If you add "argue" to your wordlist, it will appear as the first word in the future, it's the best solution at this time imo, but i totally agree with you that a word like "argue" should be in the dictionairy by default.
Cheers!

Just before typing this i have just send my friend the following
"you seduction to come to my place...."
when i was wanting to say "you sed to come to my place...."
i know im abbreviating said to sed, but shurely there is something else in the english language between sed.......&.......seduction!
I've had this on both Duty's and CT's latest ROMs so I wonder if the problem lies with the standard ROM on which they're based?
It's becomming very annoying to write messages as I'm having to type half my words out twice so it finds the right one! Can anyone help in any way?
maybe there is a solution to this problem

I am from Romania (Europe) and I needed a romanianT9 so I installed the EzInput keyboard from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=426281. But I also noticed that I don't have the described problem with the english T9 even if I also use Dutt's v4. I'm not sure if I had this problem before installing EzInput (because I didn't use english T9) but I guess that you guys should give it a try. Here is what you need:
later edit: I've just noticed that the Dutty's v4. already had the EzInput! Anyhow, it might work if you install the latest version of EzInput (wich I attached here).
And another thing crosses my mind: is it possible that the former version of EzInput (wich is included in the Dutty's v4 release) is actually the reason for all these strange behaviour?
cant install, but the uk t9cab did?

I would agree with the fact that it is ezinput causing the issue, can you post a link to the thread instead of the CAB.
many thanks

A solution
I installed the nordic Touch HD keyboard on my diamond from this link:

and it sorts the gibberish first word problem out. I am running Dutty v4
Hey.
I got a swedish X1 it works great except just 1 thing..
For instance when i open an sms converation and start typing imidiatly, For example something with the hardware keys åäö... they arent placed in the same order as the other keys..
For example.. If i type "jag åker" it could very well become "åjag ker"
As in, The normal letters lagg but the åäö does not.
This is a common problem untill the for example sms app is fully loaded...
Anyone experienced this b4?
Old well known problem and as far as I know there are no real fixes for this.
So its a hardware bug?
anyone can explane better?

No its not. its because the software has to translate the letter å,ä,ö into computer term, when you are using other language than swedish in your rom. So if you got a swedish buil with swedish sys, then no problem at all, if you got the time and effort try other roms in eng then swe and youll see big difference.
so to get the best experience with swedish letters, AKA swedish hardware keyboard run a swe. ROM.
It's as simple as that!
I have a Swedish keyboard and I don't have this problem.

Currently using Itje's Touch it version 4 (also tried 4.5) WWE
Whatever build version that was ?
Chose swedish KB via CE regeditor.
No problems with that. Even used Generic UK ROM as well and did not have the issue described here.
I have to use English Roms as I am a native English speaker, just happened to be in SWE right now and this is where I got my X1. Maybe that makes a difference?

You mean you have a QWERTZ hardware keybord? if so i had the same problem, just change a value in the registry. HKLM>HARDWARE>DEVICEMAP>KEYBD>chage value in CurLang(hexadecimal) from 409 to 407 and soft reset. it worked for me

I have the same problem as hargibi. Have had the problem with all original swedish sony-ericsson ROMs. The defult value for CurLang on my X1 is 1053(decimal) and 41D(hex). Changing the value for decimal to 407 will only serve to transform the hardware into a standard english qwerty which is not what i'm trying to do.
To me it would have made sense if the å ä ö buttons were slower to react than the rest but here we actually have the opposit problem: They are faster, meaning the word godkänner, for example, would become godäknner or even ägodknner depending on how fast you write.
So the question is: has anyone solved this problem or does anyone have any ideas?
Edit: Okay, so i dissabled word suggestions and this solved the problem. Not a very satisfying compromise since im a bad speller and i liked that funktion but it'll work while we're waiting for a better solution...
Edit 2: Forgot the creds! thanks hamre, for the help!

It helps a bit, but not all the way, imho.
Are there any new news about this issue??
Sorry for bringing up this thread from the dead, but its better than creating a new one eh?
Any new about this? Having som problem with almost all latest 6.5 roms that the message-system is really slow. It lags like hell in other words.
ROM overall is suuperfast, havent used any rom as stable as this (826x). But it lags when typing sms.. sometimes i could be like one word ahead when typing fast on the hardware keyboard compared to what is actually shown on the screen. And that messes up with ÅÄÖ. like "jag ska åka bil" end up like "jagå ska ka bil".
And its strange, because the rest of the rom is lightning fast. And to mention, this is when using WM messaging, when typing with HTC message client (go to a contact, switch to messages tab) its running smoothly. BUT, as all knows, HTC message client sucks, how funney is it when typing a sms with the length of 1000 chars then accidentally press "back" and its all gone.. No question "do you want to save?" **** that

As I remember this is due to an issue with the windows mobile operating system, especially with the fact that you are probably using a WWE version (english version) Rom. There is a Swe 6.5 rom out (non-manila though) give it a try and see if the character lag exists. Otherwise i guess you as I have to just live with it I don't think there will ever be a WWE without this lag
There is a fix for the non-åäö lag though here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=581901&highlight=lag
It removes the character count, which means you wont know how many sms how send, but there is no lag atlest
Lycka Till! / Good Luck!

:/ that sucked. I mean, running heavy programs, like word there is no lag when typing. A simple thing like typing a text message on a mobile should work...
If i understood that .cab correctly, you wont be able to send more than 160chars per sms?

Yes you will, but it wont show you how many chars there is, nor how many sms that will amount to so if your sms plan is not unlimited, its quite easy to get a nice bill at the end of the month
And just one more thing, this is my perception of the sms bug, might be someone more knowing than me
Ay its unlimited so that no problem. Ill try!
As i see it, it's not really an issue of non SWE-ROMs... as i still run the stock R3AA SWE ROM and the ÅÄÖ issue is really tiresome... forcing me to slow down my typing and sometimes go back to correct "my" mistakes...
Also, i've turned off the correction/suggestions totally, didn't notice a difference, really weird how they can keep this bug alive throughout all these WM OS builds, such a simple but yet VERY important thing as SMS texting crippled... what a shame.
Edit: oh and i tried that remove letter count fix, but that messed up the texting program, i couldn't enter the email/texting application anymore, so i restored it...

Hm. Acctually that fix did the trick for me. What ROM are you using? Im running 826x 6.5.5 ROM and just by removing the counting the input is instant and no laggy letters anymore
I used the .cab in attached, install and softreboot quickly.
Hello,
I am really thinking of getting the HTC touch diamond2. I currently have HTC tilt (or tytn II). I use it mostly for messaging. Anyways, my question is: how easy is it to type on the device? Is it as good as an iphone (better or worse)? Can you use your finger tips or do you have to use the stylus? Is there a video I can watch someone typing on it?
Thank you
I have moved from the Touch Pro (with keyboard) like yourself I used it for texts and emails, I thought I would hate the new keyboard but its pretty good, its got heptic feedback on the keys and they are nicely spaced out. Its very responsive to use, the best HTC keyboard I have used and I dont make many mistakes and dont have to use stylus.
new keyboard is great for typing...holding it in two hands a writing with both fingers without any mistake...
That is indeed good news. Can't wait until I get mine. Hopefully it arrives tomorrow. I also type a lot on it and I am hoping that will be a pleasant experience.
Personally I have gone from an AT&T Tilt (Full HW Keyboard) to the TD2 and also thought I would hate the lack of hardware keyboard, but it has really grown on me, and with no problems at all with typing I might stick with the TD2 instead of going onto the TP2. It just works for me, though lack of 3g sucks for me here in the states... lol
I'm thinking of maybe getting the UK version, cause the device is delayed here in Norway.
Question is: Is it difficult to access special symbols (letters) like Æ Ø Å on the UK keyboard?
I've never owned an HTC device so don't know how one normally access them. They are however crucial, and used quite frequently.

This is a very interesting question, I have refrained from UK version till now, waiting for the french version only to get a soft keyboard with french layout (including é, ç, à, ...). I do not care having the OS localized in english (in fact, i would even choose english over french for the OS), but the qwerty layout is a deal breaker.
Is it possible to change the keyboard layout? Or even better, add different keyboard layout and T9 dictionaries so they appear simultaneously in the WinMo entry switcher? I would love to just switch among the different keyboard installed if needed (having a french one and a non-western thai one would be great, adding japanese would be even better )
I ordered mine from Expansys and they told me, after having talked to HTC, that it would be possible to update the device to include different keyboard layouts. I hope this is correct, because I cannot be without Swedish characters. Otherwise, could Fingerkeyboard solve the issue?
Hi!
Originally I got the 20th of April as a dispatch date form KlartSvar (the reseller used by my employer), but as you say the device is delayed. I talked to a representative from Brightpoint this morning regarding the delay, and he said that the new delivery date to resellers is the 5th of May. Hopefully this is correct, I will wait until then before deciding if I have to look around for a WWE edition somewhere.
If someone could give some information about if it's possible to write accent characters on the WWE xT9 keyboards, I would appreciate the feedback.
I guess that cabs for all languages for EzInput2 (topaz HTC keyboards) will eventually be available anyway, when localized devices start hitting resellers in different countries.
Regards,
PK

Are you using the default EzInput? And in landscape mode or portrait? I have a Diamond and had to give up on the Full QWERTY as well as the Compact QWERTY because I hated one-handed typing (and it was too small to type with both hands).
I am currently using SpB Keyboard on my Diamond, with the landscape fullscreen keyboard, and so far that has helped a lot. I can type really fast with two thumbs now.
Special characters are available with the WWE version using the HTC full qwerty keyboard. They aren't visible on the keyboard, but if you press and hold for example the a key a popup character selector appears giving access to
eight different variations of accent including the Æ and Å (I'm typing this on a MAC and don't know how to access these characters on it so can only copy and paste)
You can also used the standard WM keyboard and get at them by pressing the symbol key, but its really only usable with the stylus.
I've got a Diamond, so my question is how is the qwerty keyboard in portrait mode? The reason I ask is because I read a review that said the screen width has not changed between the Diamond and Diamond2. That doesn't seem right. Can anyone comment on both the screen width and typing in portrait mode?
Hi!
Thanks for the feedback! What about the xT9 dictionary then, is it possible to switch to a different languages in the WWE edition? If so, which languages?

PK

Its locked to english, but there may have been an option to select a different language at setup time, to be honest I can't remember and don't want to hard reset to find out. Perhaps someone else will know? If its English only that shouldn't really be a problem, just flash a ROM in your own language when its available.
Got my D2 today. Very happy. But there is no language option as far as the keyboard goes. Have not tried fingerkeyboard yet.
Hello! I am finally a new happy owner of a Galaxy Note!
Its not perfect, I think the Dell Streak was easier to use (very hard to hold it in left hand and NOT press Power, Volume Up/Down buttons).
Anyway - I have much more serious problem:
Any outgoing SMS message in hebrew, is seen as question marks by the recipient (even using another Android phone as well).
Only clue that I have is, when I finish typing the message and click on Send, I get Warning (Attention) as follows: "Message may be corrupted on recipient device. Change input mode to automatic"
I am not sure what this mean?
My other problem, is that no other keyboard (like Anysoftkeyboard, or Swype), seem to allow language swapping using the Spacebar - which I found very comfortable (and swype not supporting hebrew at all) - so I must find a way to incorporate Hebrew into the Samsung Keyboard please.
Another potential issue, is that I feel the Stylus might not be functioning correctlly - it requires more pressure than I am used to, with my Dell Latitude XT2, which I use to write all lectures and practice at uni - perhaps something is wrong with my pen? or is it right that I have to apply what I would define as "moderate" pressure for it to even register on the Note taker?
ok, I solved my own problem for SMS:
When in Messaging center, click Menu, then Settings and go to Input Mode - change it to Automatic.
Hope it helps others who search for this dumb default setting on GSM alphabet (why??)

I am using AnySoftKeyboard, with added Hebrew keyboard addon.
It works fine, keys are displayed correctly out of the box Samsung ROM.
that is so weird because I have also used anysoftkeyboard and the Hebrew addon but the characters are not displayed correctly at all.
Although I have the Arabic rom installed which has RTL support
very weird
hmm, mine does not have Arabic option.
Is there any chance the distributor in your country decided on his own to make Hebrew intentionally not work on their ROM? (unlikely, but not unimaginable...)
Your alternative is to reflash the ROM to one Euro version.
Go settings-->Application-->All-->Messaging-->Clear Data
Hope this helps.
I need to add Portuguese language to the Note II T889. I know the Note II N7100 has it on it. How can this be done? Anyone? There has to be a way to import the Portuguese Language if the N7100 has it on it??!!??
