I cannot make it work. It installs fine but it is impossible to get to its options menu. I like this on screen keyboard a lot and it is working on all devices but daimond
At least Interkey version 3.o works fine
can you call up the option menu?
it install and shows up but when I try to go to the personal/input/InterKey an hit "options" nothing happens
No, I'm not able to even see the option menu (text). I could customize Interkey at the end of the installation process normally, like add additional languages. After that I've not needed the to modify the keyboard and did'nt even realize the option meny was'nt available anymore !
well, you're luckier then I'm, I tell you that, at the end of the installation it doesn't show me anything either.

does anyone know if this can be done? it sometimes pops up when i can enter text, and i always use the hardware keyboard, so i dont need the soft one. can you disable it in the registry?
never mind, i found a way of doing it. for those who want to know its like this:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sip\AllowChange=1
Change the above value to AllowChange=0
Actually, this reg key seems to disable the soft keyboard altogether! (the icon is still there but tapping on it does not bring the kbd anymore). I'd like to have a way to have the soft kbd not show up automatically, but still work when I want to bring it up manually. Anyone?
I think you want one of these...
http://www.pdagold.com/software/detail.asp?s=155
This gives you an alternate soft-keyboard, which has no keys. So, select this one and there is nothing to pop up.
Be aware that this version is free, but there are later versions from the same author which have more features (just what you don't want) and you have to pay for.
I have not tried this on WM6, but it worked fine on earlier versions.
Actually forget that...
I just tried it on WM6, and although it does what it is supposed to do, it was impossible to then return to a normal soft-keyboard, so I had to uninstall and reset.
Oh well...
Hi all,
I've finally narrowed down where all my sytem crashes are coming from, and it appears to be my installations of "duttythroy HTC Touch Keyboard" and "HTC Touch Keyboard + Keypad"
Both are installed (HTC one first, then duttythroy), and when I come to type something, the options are there in the pop-up menu ("Touch Keyboard" "Touch Keypad"), however if I select one, the normal keyboard appears and the selected entry jumps back to "Keyboard", so I'm guessing thats because it failed to access/load the touch keyboard?
So I then go to uninstall, and it cannot uninstall either of them, it sits forever with the little spinning icon as it tries to uninstall, eventually failing by either locking the device needing a reset, or by popping up saying it cannot remove the application at this time.
Can anyone provide me manual removal details for this application, I'll need registry, files, etc to remove it as cleanly as I can if possible.
Thanks in advance
I dont know about your system crashes, but the solution to the keyboard and keypad problem is found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=271008
Hiya,
Thanks for that but I don't believe thats the actual issue, as its not between resets that it won't permit me to select the touch keyboard, its actually when I manually select the touch keyboard it cancels that and reverts back.
So, I really need to manually clean/uninstall these applications that appear to have become corrupted somewhere along the way.
That is the actual issue with the keyboard, it wont let you select it at all - if you read back through the post linked above it's not aimed at setting a default selection, it's to make it work at all!
I had the same issue, clicked on either and it would just stay on keyboard and so have many others. Installation of SIPchange sorted it. Maybe then you can rule out this being the problem for your system crashes?
Good luck
Software Keyboard (seems fast)
Try FingertouchPRO, the layout is customizable and so is the keyboard height, I was able to make this as big as fullscreen and also little as I liked.
The cab resides on www.fingertouchpro.com , just click the big CAB button.
There is a movie showing this toy in action, the speed (if it's real) is incredible!
hi
i've been having this random problem with a lot or cooked wm6.5 roms, sometimes it happens after 1st or 2nd reboot, other times it happens after a couple days.
The problem is the long click popup menu, it's missing the top most active option, i have this image here as an example from the calendar, but it happens with all applications with the popup menus.
the top option (new appointment) only shows up after pressing some other option, if i click the tools option for ex. it opens the other menu but blank cause it only has one line, so unless i already know the program i dunno what's there...
i notice that it happens after i install some programs, but it happens with diferent ones, sometimes it causes the problem, sometimes it doesn't! so i don't think it's specificly related to a particular program... only way i have to fix it is to hard reset,, which is a pain in the ass... it's soooooo annoying!
It seems like there's another layer of menu on top of the correct one and it's causing the problem, i would like to know if there's any file, a .dll or something that i can substitute to fix/restore the popup menus without having to hard reset.
Thanks in advance
Omg omg omg!!!!
Finally!!! found the culprit of the problem!
it just hit me, i change some things in Advancedconfig, including, ANIMATE MENUS! i usually enable that option when i am setting up things and installing some apps after flashing a new rom... that's why it was eluding me... it worked fine with wm6.1...
wow, what a relief hehe just disabled animate menus and the popup menus returned to normal
1. I am trying to get Arabic text working on my Xperia, and I found a MoBiDIV 417 file that I installed and it seems to have worked, but now I can't open the start menu. I click it, the phone freezes for 10-15 seconds, and then nothing happens (but I can click other buttons). I suppose I'll have to re-install my rom, but before I do, is there any way to use my computer and change the localization? I'm assuming the localization is the problem because 99% of the text on my phone is now Arabic, and that must be causing an issue with something in the start menu. I want to change the localization away from what I assume is some Middle Eastern area to English - America or English - UK, so that my system is all in English but it can display Arabic when necessary (whereas before it was just a bunch of squares). Normally this is easy to do, but when the start menu won't even open...I did also try using the keyboard start button, just in case, but it gave the same pause-then-nothing result as pressing the upper left corner of the phone.
2. On an unrelated note, I've been trying to find a good data monitor. SPB seems nice but very expensive, what others are there? I found (mFee but it requires Homescreen++ and has a lot of bugs. Anyone help me out?
Ive ended up with stupid issue here, basically I replaced my digitizer with a cheap ebay one and made a mess of it, so now my touchscreen doesnt work. Ive been ok with that until today I flashed the rom to unlock the phone and the first screen pops up with "Please tap the screen to set up your device" or something similar. Thats something I cant physically do so if anyone knows a way around that I would LOVE to hear it
Cheers.

People will recommend using tools such as mymobiler and such, that enable you to connect to your device over the PC using activesync.
It does work, for the first tap only. The screen alignment after that is where you are boned, I find myself in the same situation.
Try researching for registry keys that can be modified, as programs like Soti's Pocketpro will allow you to modify registry keys. I'll post if I find anything similar.
search for and read about "welcome.not". the idea is to create a blank file named "welcome.not" on your storage card so the phone chooses to skip the screen alignment wizard on first boot up.
The "solution" may be:
Try flashing one of Witschey's ROMs, because he does not include neither screen alignment nor apps setup in the ROM, so that you'll access the device after flashing, no need to soft-reset nor anything.
The question is, what are you going to do if you can't touch the screen ?
Well, i can do a few things that I need with it. Use it as a phone for a start
I get a free upgrade soon so Ill go with the hero or an iphone but until then I will need a phone and an mp3 player. You can still kind of use google maps even for GPS its just tricky. I did manage my way around London with it lol.
Thanks for the tips anyway guys, Ive tried deleting the welcome file already today but the device kind of locks after that in that you cant really see any icons, even tried 2 roms with it. I will give that Witschey ROM a go though that sounds like it could be the answer to this.
welcome.not
Welcome.not file worked for me, but I did not put in on a SD card, just in the root of the device after MS does activesync.
My computer<device<double click<paste
Took the battery out, turned it on, presto.
Thanks for that!!
No need to reflash, was cool.
Well I tried a Witschey ROM and its working great! Thank you afn961 for that one. It runs very fast indeed as well compared to the stock T-mobile WM6 I had on there. Only issue I have now is that I cant access some menus without the touchscreen, worst one being the running programs menu so stuff just stays open. Cant win em all though.
quite a few cooked ROMs these days are built so that the screen alignment wizard is skipped and it won't show up unless you invoke it explicitly.
i suggested the "welcome.not" approach because it is known to work in terms of skipping the screen alignment wizard and i thought you wanted to stick to the ROM you had because it was to your liking, else i'd have suggested one of the ROMs mentioned in the first paragraph.
finally, you CAN manage running applications using one of the many third party task switchers. i will suggest "showcase" or "taskfacade". the idea is to map your PTT button to invoke the task switcher. not sure if the following will work properly but you can set the default htc task manager to close applications (instead of minimizing them) when you press OK. so you can press OK to exit the foreground application or you can invoke the third party task manager to SWITCH to another application. that way, you get multitasking AND the ability to close the applications you don't need.
check it out and let us know how it goes, good luck!
