After 3 months of usage... my front keys is skewed now..
ie the left is deeper than the right side..
My side keys... the lower one is now very hard to press before responding than the upper one.
Anyone has same situation... can HTC service ctr could fix it ?

Send back to HTC service center. It should be covered...

Hello,
after a repair from a service center, i can see the backlight shine a little at the side in the darkness.
See: Light
Now i wanted to ask, if you can see this on a unrepaired unit, too?
Edit: And if yes, at which sides you can see it? I can see it left&top&right.
BR Robert
Same on my diamond. That light was there all the time.
Could you check at which sides you can see it?
BR and Thanks
Robert
i think thats normal... i can see it top, left and right not at the bottom of the screen
Hi All,
Is it my phone or is it a problem with the diamond in that I find it almost impossible to use the d pad to go left and right. Up and down works a treat, but left either makes a call or goes to the home page and when I want to naiviagte right, well it mostly causes the centre dpad to click. Any ideas, send the phone back; it's almost impossible to play worms!
i have the same problem. i think it is not a manufacturing problem, it is designed as is.
i have seen somewhere in the manual, that htc recommends to use the finger nails to press the navigation buttons.
Same behaviour here. It's just bad design. Not a fault of your particular device.
Thats so Cr*p!, don't get me wrong, I love the phone, but that is bad manufacturing, I though HTC were better than that. I am disappointed that they get everything else so nice, but screw up the nav keys, they are pretty damn important. It like saying the that the "T" key on the keyboard sometimes gives you "T" but sometimes it'll give you "R".!! Anyone tries talking to HTC about it?
Oh well, I'll just roll over and take it --- again
Hi there,
just keep in mind that the navigation left/right uses the same (physical) switch as the other buttons. the function called is just determined by the position of your fingers on the capazitive touch element. So you just hav to be quite precise. pressing with the whole of your thumb can cause the problems you state. use your fingertips instead and everything will be fine.
in the beginning I had some trouble but my problem was that I pressed too close to the centre button... I have no problem pressing left or right now. The sweetspot is about the middle between the edge of teh circular button and the home/phone keys

I also find it helps to press a little bit lower than you might think (especially on the right button)

Hey, wow. Thanks a lot. That's really the point.
Ever worried about pressing one of the other buttons (Home, Back, Send, End) when pressing to far outside the center. But now that I realised that there are no other buttons to accidently hit, everything works quite fine.
would be great if someone finally finds out how to remap buttons. in that case i am the first to reassign the home button with the left key and back button with right key...
Wish it would be possible to touch the wheel and get LEFT/RIGHT instead of pressing them. Would make it so much easier to use the wheel/pad buttons.

Remap light wheel for up down left right
Now that sounds like a wicked idea. Remap it so that when the touch sensitive circular wheel is not being used for it's whizzy ipod type wheel capability, it is instead used for touch sensitive left, right, up or down!.
Hmm, I'd donate for sure for that to happen!
funny thing about those hardware keys is that they are combined with a capacitive key, eg, try to press the home key with the back of your stylus without touching the button with your finger. it wil respond as dail key pressed.
If you try to press al the buttons at once, there is only one click at either side
Hi,
For 2 days now, my screen has a "dead spot" at the right bottom.
For instance if you have the virtual keyboard on, pressing the "+" gives the "p" (above key) and pressing the "l" gives the "." (lower key).
It's not that the screen is misaligned, because it chooses the upper and lowe character.
And this area is also not working in other application.
Softreset did not help.
You think that this is a hardware problem, or do you think it can be solved by flashing the rom?
Anybody had similar experience?
It's a problem with resistive digitisers, your screen is on it's way out (prob will be unusable in a few months). Claim your warranty now.

Leddy,
I've always been curious. How bad do you need to treat your screen before the digitizer starts failing before its expected failure date ?
Cheers.
My screen had a small area that would register touches in the wrong place (either too far left or right). I sent it in and they replaced the screen. I'd do that if I were you.

No clue. Never had that happen to me personally. I have a deadish HTC Magician (but i got it while it already had the problem), and I gifted an Elf to my mother, and that digitiser developed problems after she "wiped it down with an alcohol wipe" (no clue how she managed that, because I do that all the time).
Hi
The other day I replaced my HTC HD7 screen, both the LCD and Digitizer.
The cracked screen was working fine, and everything was working perfectly.
After changing the screens everything also came up good, the phone booted up and the Windows Phone menu was working fine.
Problem(s):
On the top right corner there is a dead spot about 1cmX4cm going downwards, I can see everything in the corner but it does not detect touch.
Also, the onscreen key board only works on left side landscape mode. When I am in portrait mode I cant use the "O" and the "P" , and when I am in Right side landscape I can't use the "G" icon/key.
This leads me to believe that the digitizer might be faulty, because the LCD shows everything so it can't be that. Or, maybe the ribbon cable might be bad?
Has anyone else had this problem? What can be done?
Any input on this problem will be much appreciated.
sent it back for replacement if it's under warranty.

Yes, I sent it back, waiting for the replacement now.
Hopefully it will work. I will update the status once I receive the new screen.
When i press on the screen i see waves on the screen sides is it ok
Why would you even press the screen that hard? It's like pressing on a monitor.
I dont press hard i just put my finger on the edge of the screen and i get waves
Might be a hardware issue then. Get it exchanged.
Reconfirm it by taking a screen shot when you press on it, if the screen shot doesn't show then it's a hardware issue.
can anyone check if they have it too i dont want to send the phone to repair for nothing

Nothing here. I can see some blurring on the spot where i push the screen, but that's normal when you push a little harder.
Thats my problem but even when i press a little i get this blur and i got ir only on the left side of the screen i think its a problem one side feel soft and the other side feel hard

i dont know how gentle (or your definition of gentle) you are pressing the screen but i guess its normal. If it really bothers you that much get it exchanged. If you bought it online then just stick with what youve got, dont even bother going through that much hassle. On the other hand, if you bought it locally, then just go in and ask and show them. I dont think anyone here can give you a solid answer to this matter.
