Bluetooth send/recieve files - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

Hi,
I have some problems with recieving files from e.g. a nokia phone via BT.
However i also see no posibilities of how to send files via BT.
In the e.g. Picture flow i select a file and use the letter to send. But only MMS options is a posibility.
If i go to the File Explorer and select it i also only have SMS/MMS settings.
The BlueTooth is ofcouse activated. And the Nokia phone can see my Diamond. But when trying to send it just fail?
HTC Diamond, Rom: 1.93.403.2 DAN.

On WM6 its not called sending via bluetooth, its called "Beaming".
So, use file explorer, then select your file and use "Beam File..." Has worked for me sending to Sony Ericsson phones and my VAIO laptop.
tada!

ok thats worked on sending a picture.
how can I send from inside touch flo?
and how about receiving from another phone?

don't think you can send via bluetooth from within touchflo. but if you want to receive a file via bluetooth then just make sure you have bluetooth and beam turned on in the communications manager. I'm pretty sure all of this is in the manual, wouldn't be any harm giving it a read?

I am running MDA Compact with Swiftblade's full 6.2 ROM and I have this problem. Yes I have read the manual. Bluetooth is on and device is visible. Beam is on. When I try to receive a file it fails. No error message appears on the screen of my MDA. I can send a file fine. Any ideas?

Have the same problem...Any solutions? :S

Try turning OBEX on using Advanced Configuration Tool. If you do not want to use Advanced Configuration Tool, you can always turn it on using registry. Please soft reset after that.

This is a procedure that I complete when allowing an FTP transfer from the phone to a laptop. Maybe it is the same with two phones.
When partnering the phones did you check the serial port box for services?
Have you checked the "enable file sharing" box on the ftp tab in bluetooth settings on both phones?
You might delete the pairing and start over with these settings confirmed and trying transfering again.
Good luck.
On one device, enable 'Visible' under BT. On the other device, pick the file to send and hold the stylus on it. When the pop-up menu comes up, select 'Beam' and wait until the other device shows on the menu..

Bluetooth Problem with Kaiser Please Help

Can anyone help me with this problem i just bought kaiser yesterday but i notice that i cant be able to receive any file transfer from a bluetooth connection.
However i can be able to beam file through bluetooth connection to another phone.
Can anyone help to solve this problem please?
thanks
Please be more specific, in order to get answers to your question. How your problems shows? Could it be just that other devices can not see your Kaiser, if so, then you have to tick checkbox "Make this device visible to other devices" on bluetooth settings.

As per the last post, your device has to be set to 'Visible' in BT settings and if you want your device 'Open' to receive all beams the uncheck the box in BT settings under 'Security'
There is another setting to check.
Under Start\Settings\Connections there is an icon labelled "Beam". Click this and make sure the box labelled "Allow incoming beams" is ticked. (Not sure about the exact wording but it is the only checkbox on the screen.)
And whilst we're on the subject of ticking boxes....
I'm pretty sure the two boxes under the FTP tab in the bluetooth setting need to be ticked aswell...Could there BE anymore boxes to tick for 1 simple operation?!
Similar Issues
I am having similar issues, but a bit more severe. Kaiser wont see my laptop that has a USB bluetooth dongle. It can see my bluetooth headset just fine. But it refuses to see my desktop and my desktop refuses to see it. Any suggestions

This sounds like a problem with your laptop/dongle, if your kaiser is able to see other things...
What rom are you using? I was using alex's rom for a while but he some how removed the ftp tab in the bluetooth settings and I was never able to receive any files. I switched over to sleuth's rom and it fixed all my problems.

It's the same in Dutty's new ROM. The FTP tab is gone, and now I (and a few other people) can't send/receive via bluetooth.
Technical intervention is required here ...
I'm facing the exact same problem with my TyTn 2, but here are some spacifics that require an expert's opinion...
1. The device sends perfectly...
2. When it comes to recieving, here's the low-down:
-I tried sending a pairing req. from my computer (through my BT dongle) & the phone received the req.
-After the pair, the computer sent & the device received (no problem until now)...
-I tried sending another file (from my Nokia 6300) & there was no response from my phone...
-I tried sending from a Nokia 6260, the phone received without even the need to pair!!!
What I want to know is the technical reason for this to happen???
P.S.
Here are the options set on my device:
-Receive all incoming beams (Checked)
-Turn on BT (Checked)
-Make this device visible to other devices (Checked)
-Authentication (Passkey) required (Unchecked)
I think it would be a whole lot easier if you just packed your phone up and sent it to me. I would uh, take care of it for you.
Bluetooth beam fixed
You have to fix bluettooth with this cab

Thanks alot k101d for the quick response, but as I'm quite skeptical when it comes to messing around with my phone's internal configuration or registry files & so on, I would like to know the source from which you got the .CAB file, & what it exactly does (on the inside of course)...
Many thanks again, dude...
Oh, thanks a lot k101d.
Till today I was so dissapointed with this BT of mine (it costs about 100 €).
It worked !!!
Yo costas2by4AIO,
sorry if I'm gonna be bothering you, but bare with me & my desperate questions...
What exactly were you suffering (concerning BT) from before applying the .CAB file, & what was the result that satisfied you?
Hi Guys,
Need Help......
I am not able to beam more than one file altogether with my HTC tytn II
Please help me to figure out, How can I beam files altogether to other Bluetooth device instead of one by one.
Thanks,

Bluetooth Send Problem

Hi People, I've been away from PDA's for while, realized the error of my ways and picked-up o2 Stellar at the weekend, the 2nd one in week. Before doing anything I installed WIN 6.1,everything appeared to working fine, until I tried to transfer files from my N95 to the stellar via bluetooth, every time I tried I got the same error 'unable to connect, I can pair with any phone tried 4 different phones today and I can send from my phone to another but can't receive files. I have double checked all my settings they seem to OK so I'm at a loss. Before I take it back for a 3rd has anyone else here had the same problem or know what I'm doing wrong.
Any help and advice would be much appreciated.

I had a similar problem with a bluetooth dongle.
Start/Settings/Connections/Beam/Recieve all incoming beams. Make sure BT filesharing is turned on the phone (if you fileshare), also make visible. BT can be spotty sometimes and these settings can be reset to default if the phone is reset.

I forgot the setting 'Receive all incoming beams' now that has been set, everything is OK. Thanks
Had the same problem. Set to visible, receive all incoming beams etc. but I could only send, not receive. I solved the problem by activating Bluetooth Explorer and Activate File sharing. Strange since I didn't have this problem with WM 6.0 and BT Explorer deactivated.

Bluetooth question

Hello peeps
Newbie to the diamond and windows format on phones so please be gentle,
How can I get my diamond to receive files pics etc via bluetooth? every time I try I get unable to connect on either my nokia or my laptop, but I can send no problem from my diamond.
Thanks
Glenn
You have to "open" your phone for incoming files. Have you tried that?
Go to Start -> Settings -> Comm Manager and activate bluetooth. Then click settings -> Bluetooth (still in Comm Manager).
There is a tab called Mode (or something?, second from the left). Both of the options there should be checked.
Now you should be able to find your phone from your computer and send files to it.
When sending files from your phone I think it automatically starts the bluetooth, sends the file, and then closes the bluetooth.
Hope this helps
Thanks
Just tried that, the 2 boxes that are checked say, turn bluetooth on and let me be visable, still didn't work, my laptop connects to my diamond asks for pin code, enter same pin code on both devices, my pc goes to send but is unable to. exactly the same when trying to send from my nokia, any other ideas please.
Thanks Glenn
Start - Settings
Connections Tab
Beam
Check - Receive all incoming beams
Give it a shot.
All the best
Welldone mate thats the one
Chuffed to bits now

[problem]receiving files via BT

I'm facing one problem at this moment. Whenever I send ANY file from ANY other device to my X1, it says connection error on the other device and that's all. So it means I can send files with X1, but not receive.
BT connection with GPS, AS or so works fine, both ways.
After this, I tried a hard resed and it works. I restored my backup from yesterday and the same problem. So checked startup folder and even the start up processes but couldn't find anything. Yes, accept incomming beams is ticked.
If I install for example Persian Blue, I can accept files via BT without any problem.
Because hard reset is never solution of the problem but only of certain event, I would like to ask if anyone has any idea. For example where exactly in registry are located settings related to Bluetooth and so on.
Once I installed Bluezard on my device, but I think if I uninstalled, it should be OK again..?
Thanks
edit: FIXED, StyleTap and the way this app handles incoming files was the cause
