Anonimus call - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

Hi,
Can somebody explain how to setup my diamond so I can call anonimus?
(the reciever may not see my mobile number on his mobile)
Thanks

Unfortunately rather complicated :
Settings-->Phone--> Chose "Caller ID"--> Click "Get Settings"
There you can tell the phone to provide your caller ID to :
- Everyone
- No one
- Only to contacts
Does anyone know of an easier way ? I Hate this procedure.

i believe its a operator svc option.
at least I have to pay locally every month to get this service.

OK... thanks... "problem" solved

On Orange, if you prefix any number by #31# it will call anonymously.

Or on any UK network, you can prefix the number with 141.

thats a GSM code. it should work in every network.
in some networks you can use #31# and the press send to deactivate CLIP for each call. *31# will activate again. just try it, if it is not working you only get an error message.

Reading wrong caller ID setting from network

I searched for this problem everywhere but couldn't find any post addressing it.
I'm on TMobile. I've used several ROM's here.
Recently I needed to block caller ID for a few outgoing calls. I know how to do it manually by *67 but on the phone there is a setting which also helps to do it.
My problem is my MDA reads the wrong setting from the network, when I hit caller ID and then get settings it always reads "No one" under "Provide my caller ID to" section all the time even when it's set to "Everyone". This means that no matter what I do, my caller ID gets displayed to the person that I'm dialing.
I've tried this with Molski's AKU 2.3 final ROM, Risidoro's 2.3 ROM as well as the official TMobile ROM.
Can someone tell me a fix for this? Or is this a device problem specific to my phone alone.
Thank you and wish you all A Happy New Year 2007.

I thought it was *82 to block/unblock.

Well in the US, on T-Mobile *67 and #31# work. I've tried and verified both techniques. I've never heard of *82. Although I can dial both to disable caller ID, I'd just like my phone to read the caller ID settings from the network right.
Different networks will have different block/send Caller ID prefixes. The GSM standard is for #31#<phone number><SEND> to block the number, and *31#<phone number><SEND> to send the number (used if you have permanant CID blocking). This should work on all GSM networks.
Well, thanks for the clarification, but could someone help me on my problem on the first post please.

Try calling TMo and have them reset your phone/account from their side (you don't need to tell them that you are using a cooked ROM) sometimes their system just gets confused.

Thanks demontefixo, I never thought about that. Will ask them to do so and report back.
GSM Standard - Block/Send Caller ID

The GSM standard is as follows:
*#31#<send> - Check Send Caller ID Status
*31#<send> - Send Caller ID for all subsequent calls, except where explicitly blocked by prefixing a number with #31#<number><send>
#31#<send> - Block Caller ID for all subsequent calls, except where explicitly sent by prefixing a number with *31#<number><send>
Not all network operators will allow you to do this.
Thanks CJBS and demontefixo. They did have a problem with my account and now it's been reset and working as it should.
@ demontefixo
Nice one. A simple solution that should've been one of the top ones in trouble shooting hierarchy but I would've thought I did something that is not making it work.

barely anyone has caller ID

when most people call it only displays the number, rarely anyone has the caller ID. i think theres only like 2 people in my contact list that it has their name.
so most people call and it just shows a number, i dont always know who it is.
ive already done the following:
added my country area code and city area code to each contact.
flashed multiple roms (AT&T, HTC, Duty's)
switched from using 3G to Edge and GPRS.
has anyone else experianced this?
I'm guessing they are on the sim? Had the same exact problem and it got really annoying. I had to go and edit every single contact that didn't have the are code. That's what you have to do. It's weird because on the 8525, you don't need that.

so you had to give all your contacts area codes? did seem to make a difference for me. if i gave someone an area code it still didnt show when they called.
Exactly. Had to do it for all that didn't have an area code.

Yeah I notice this a lot living and working overseas.
Some cell networks send the caller ID as a full international number and some send it a local number (as they do here).
Best way I found of is to edit the numbers in Outlook contacts on the PC as it will prompt you for the correct country and area codes into the standard (MS-US) format ie +971 (xxx) xxxxxxxx and the phone then seems to start recognising them.

Voicemail Number? Is it my cell phone number? or is it a weird one?

Ok in my speed dial i have a Voicemail number.. its a weird number, like a 772 area code number, When i call it goes to my voicemail.. Why? whos number is this (772)??
my Telephone number is a (305) number..
I am comming from sprint and my voicemail number was MY cell phone number in order to get to my voicemail.
Do i edit my option and change the number to call my cell phone number (305)???
OR do i keep the (772) number?? I am confused...? Either number i call it goes into my voicemail...
Ok, get this, when I go into my phone Settings > Services > Voice Mail and Text Messages... The numbers there are weird.. the voicemail is that (772) and the Text messages Service center is a weird (312) number.. Why??
that's normal for most US carriers now. If you call that number from a landline youwill see it takes you into the vmail system so you can retrieve your messages from a landline. It's going to be a different number depending upon what area you are in. Mine is 619-204-0806 and I use the phon ein 760 area code. 619 is probably San Diego and I live in the Palm Springs area which is a few hours away.
Oh Ok, I got it.. ... So should I just change the number under phone Settings to MY cell number? or keep that weird 772 number??
What do you think???
Also, I set up a password to my Voicemail, But when i call my voicemail from my Cell phone it doesnt ask for it, When I call that Weird (772) number from a land phone, it does ask for it..
Is there a way to get a password from my cell phone too??
Thank you

leave the 772 number, it's correct.
when you call in via the cell phone will never ask you for a password, it assumes that it's safe to allow the caller into vmail because they are calling from the cell number associated with vmail box. If you call from a landline, then it prompts the caller for a password.
Now, if I rememebr right (I was just playing around with this a few weeks ago), on ATT you can setup the vmail box to prompt for password from the cellphone also. Youwould need to go thru the vmail account options and see if there is an option for this. If you are on ATT I believe it's possible.
From prior experience in working for that POS company with that general vmail number you get charged minutes. But if u put in your own number as the vmail number it counts as mobile to mobile. Have fun!

wow good point, especially now that they give out m2m air time a lot more then before. I've got unlimited m2m so that makes sense for me to change it. I already switched mine....

Problems dialing from outlook contacts. Up date

The problem has been that the Kaiser does not dial local numbers with the + sign in front. The problem occurs with prepaid Rogers service in Canada only and probably occurs to all Kaisers (2 for sure). In fact Rogers and Fido monthly plan SIM card work just fine. HTC has not helped and nor has Rogers who claim that the phone is "not supported". The problem is in the Kaiser though. The prepaid sim card that creates the problem in the Kaiser works just fine in any other phone including Rogers HTC Touch.
I start hating my phone, too many problems with no solution in sight.
Cheers
Giovanni
I cannot dial the local numbers that I have in the contact list. All my contacts phone numbers have been made on the PC with outlook and then sycronized them on the Kaiser. All the numbers have been made selecting the country code in outlook and appear in the format +country code then (areacode) then number. Unfortunately I can only dial the international ones and not the local. When I dial the local numbers a AM says that the number has not been assigned. The same number dialed via Skype works just fine.
If I remove the +sign and leave the 1 (I am in Canada) the number dials no problem. Same thing if I dial just the area code and number.
The problem is driving me nuts. I cannot make 2 set of contacts one for Skype and one for the regular calls. I also travel a lot and I need to dial the numbers from different countries without have to change anything.
I looked on the net for suggestions but did not find any answer.
Any help is much appreciated
Cheers
Giovanni

Call Barring??? Anyone???

Hello,
can anyone shine some light??? I have the at&t TILT phone I want to block
ALL INCOMING CALLS, (call barring) to do so I would need a passcode that AT&T SAID THEY DONT HAVE!!!! Does anyone know the default code? has anyone used it before?
thanks
i am not pretty sure, but should be something like "1234" or "0000". except cases dat somebody [like i did] changed it! but i'm sure the operators can reset it to the default value, so make 1 more call
i also saw this option in some softwares, unfortunately i can't name 1 of'em rite now!
This isn't perfect, but it works okay:
http://www.logic-unlimited.com/callfirewall.php
If you can find any info on this let me know as I've been searching for this password for a long time with no results. AT&T says they don't have the barring password and to call HTC. HTC says its network dependent and the phone gets the feature list from the switch.
Good luck!
the pin is network dependent.
as long as you haven't changed it, for AT&T it is "1111".
Let us know how you get on.
The evil side of me says to just set forwarding to the AT&T customer service line...
Doesn't the second half of this
http://www.wireless.att.com/answer-..._dyncharset=UTF-8&solutionId=62179&isSrch=Yes
suggest you can enable call barring for incoming calls and leave outgoing normal? I didn't enable it, but I went through step 6 and got settings from the network. It gave incoming block options of All Calls, When Roaming, and Off.
1111 doesn't work on my Tilt on AT&T.
