Hi all, new to site and the touch diamond so please be gentle
touchflo does not show all the albums any more, only one at a time? i can pick an album to play and scroll up and down the songs of the album but have to go to library and pick another album or song any ideas would be helpful
Thanks
thats the way it worked form beginning.
no at first you could see several albums, one behind another and you could flick through them, now there is only the album
yea - and they were in 1 playlist. make a playlist and see the behaviour change
follow this link (from another thread) to find info about the subject and read also about starting threads without searching...

Thank you for your help, i did do some searches for this, obviously not the right wording though, also several google searches but as there obviously isn`t anything wrong,: then probably why i could find no solutions, its easy when you know how!
It`s a pity you cant have touch flow for all the catagories in the library, instead of having to add every song to a playlist
Select All Songs fromt he Library and all the tracks will show up on TF3D.
Thats it, thanks you have been most helpful

Has anyone else noticed that with either Windows Media Player or the HTC Audio Manager, it will always use the same shuffle order? Doesn't this defeat the purpose? Anyone know how to get it to "reshuffle" with every play. I am getting tired of hearing my play lists in the same order everytime.

Amen, thought I was the only one who noticed this!
Yes, surprising isn't it. Even a using a search on all forums didn't turn up this same question. I think this is true for Wondows Media Player on all devices, or at least the one's I have owned. Would be nice is HTC could provide a shuffle option that actually shuffles with the Audio Manager. Perhaps they should call it "Reorder" instead of "Shuffle".
Just searched and this is the only thread I could find on this problem.
My media player doesn't actually play the library in folder order, but seems to shuffling only a few songs on the list.
Is playing them from the library the only option? - you can play only one song at a time when accessing the music folder with windows explorer.
to "reshuffle" have you tried turning off shuffle, selecting another track, playing it, then turn shuffle back on.
Thanks for the suggestion - yes I've tried that, but it just seems so hit and miss with the Windows media player and the shuffle play seems to repeat a few tracks too often.
I've now installed MortPlayer and it's working great, so I'm not going to bother with the WM player now.
Thanks.

Yes, this is my half baked solution. I just scroll down and start a few songs later in the list as it is sorted via the playlist. It still does not "shuffle" though, just puts me at a different point in the (properly termed...) reordered playlist. If it's a short playlist though, you will figure out pretty quickly that the songs go in the same order every time, you just started at a different point.
In computing, the random doesn't exist, we can only approach it by simulating.
You won't never get a "real" shuffle. When you select this mode in WMP or HTC audio manager, it follows an algorithm, that's why you always hear songs in the same order with the same playlist. The best way is to change your playlist.
I hope this explanation is helpful and clear, and if somebody can give us more details on the subject, don't hesitate (I like learning more and more )

I hear what you saying regarding computers not being good at random, but I can tell you that this MortPlayer is doing a damn fine job of it.
I think that these workarounds with the playlist are a poor reflection on WM media player - I have about 1.5G in my music folder and MortPlayer can shuffle the lot without the need to first create a playlist.
I didn't say that you need to create a playlist. On the contrary, more the numbers of songs is high, more the order in which you will hear its is changing, because the probability of finding the song "m" on a sample "M" diminishes when you increase "M" ( "M " can be a playlist or 1.5 GB of songs)
I know my post count is low, but I did a lot of searching first and couldn't find anything (I'm new here, but not new to forums).
I am using WMP in WM6 to play my music and I've noticed that under the "Artist" category listing in my Library, it lists everyone from the Album Artist tag as well as the Contributing Artist tag. This drives me nuts because it ends up with a ton different artists and combinations of multiple artists listed.
Is there any way to get WMP to only list the Album Artist tag under the "Artist" category in the Library. I can't find a setting in the options, but maybe there is a registry setting I can change?
If it matters I've got a Tilt running the AT&T WM6 rom.
Thanks in advance,
Pete
music library management
I don't have the answer to your problem, I'm afraid, but a related issue I thought I might add here:
I can't seem to figure out how to change artist/album info in WMP on my device, yet somehow it seems to change it on some of my files (although the info was already there . . . weird?!??). I usually transfer whole albums at a time directly from my computer into the library folder on my storage card (bypassing the WMP sync function); any ideas why WMP mobile would change my ID tag info, and how I can keep it from doing so?
Hi Pete,
I don't know if there is a way to solve the problem the way you want it, but I keep my music library managed by making playlists using a tool called Playlisteditor. Making a playlist only costs a second and it is a way to solve your problem.

No, it isn't. The point of using WMP anyway is the library, which lists every contributing artist combination as a separate artist.
Album Artist: Something
Artist ("contributing"): Something/Featured artist/featured artist 2
It should group by album artist, if WMP can't even handle Microsoft's own WMP contributing artist sintax.
Mods and other users, Please take time to read my Post fully, the problem i refer to has no connection with any of the threads on here that talk about problems with album artwork etc. Many thanks.
Ok here's my problem, i'll try and keep it as brief as poss -
I have all of my music safe and sound on my TD and all of the relevant artwork is there fine, everything fine to this point. However When i scroll to the Music tab in TF3D the only music that it finds are the two sample tracks that come pre loaded to the phone. I have to actually go into the library to find my own music, now that might not seem a huge problem to some people but the point is that TF3D should find this, and enable you to simply scroll through your albums that's the whole point!!
Now i've checked and the two 'sample' tracks are actually stored on the phone memory which is tiny, far too small to put your music on, this of course forces you to put your music in the Internal storage, indeed when i move these sample tracks off the phone memory and into the Internal storage they dissapear from the TF3D tab, and i have to go to the library to find them.
So i'm thinking that TF3D automatically looks to this folder (' Windows mobile device\Music ') for music and it simply ignores any music stored elsewhere in the internal storage, I have my music stored in Internal Storage\My Document\My music and TF3D doesn't find them there.
So i guess my question is - Can anyone/has anyone figured out how to change where TF3D looks for music, this would enable me to simply scroll to the album i want to listen to instead of having to go into the library and tell it where to look!! After all that's the whole point of Touch Flo, otherwise i may as well just use WMP
Thanks in advance if anyone can help, I've tried everything it's really doing my nut in now!!!!!
Ho about you...
use search on the forum:

H, I was wondeirng if there is a way to browse through albums by their album cover on the touch flow 3d mp3 player - at the moment, I can only browse through individual songs, and the only way to browse by album is to press "Library", and browse the list in there. I was looking for a way to browse through the albums by their covers, and subsequently clicking on an album cover in order to play the songs within this album without having to go into the "Library".
Thanks
Touchflo 3d Album problems
Was wondering the same thing. I seem only to be able to add an album to the now playing and then flick through these on the 3d interface.
Any help would be appreciated and so far all my search attempts haven't helped.
use the search function!

there is plenty of info and tuts about this subject!!
Please read my original post, and you will see that you have not answered my question; you have simply provided information on another topic.
I don't think you can do what your asking, not really wanyways.
You can go into the library and go to albums, and it should show little icons of the art. Your asking can you brows them at the 3D menu?
The current TF3D Player represents only the current Now Playing list, and nothing else. So no, unfortunately there is currently no other way to browse albums by art on the front music page of TF3D.
If you're willing to go with another app, use S2P (the special Diamond version), and you'll then be able to do this. If you want to stick with TF3D's player, you're stuck with the above. I hope HTC improves this in future releases.
Hello everyone,
My question is quite simple but a bit specific :
I like to listen to full albums from the beginning to the end, but the music player can't do that : it only sort the songs by alphabetical order, and all you can do is switching to random...
I stopped used the music player from Huawei for this reason but then I found out that a double tap on the lock screen lunch the music player in a very "neet" way so I keep on using it, I'm cycling a lot and using this device with one hand on a bike is not an easy task...
One of the solutions might be to switch to another music player and another lock screen I guess, but is there anyway to avoid that ? Or to link to "double tap" on the lock screen to another music player ?
Thanks in advance for you answers, this phone is more than awesome for its price !

That wasn't my question at all but ok I will try some other music app...
Found a way of putting songs in order!
The only way I see of doing it is putting letters infront of the song names, so the system automatically orders them. If in a playlist there are no more letters to go with, start entering double, triple combinations if you catch the logic.. For eg. there is a song with a letter "a" and a song with a letter "b", if you want to add another one inbetween them, you have to put an "ab" infront of the desired song's name.. It's kinda lame to have to rename every one in your playlists, but that is the only way I have found effective.
Hope that helps!
Hello,
I understand that it's been years since you asked, Iam facing the same frustration of not being able to enjoy the seamless transition of album tracks.
I found that the free app called VLC does in fact sort albums by track number.
Give it a try and let me know!
