Synchonize contact with multiple numbers to Parrot carkit - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Hi,
I can't find it using the search function, but is there a way to sync the contacts to my carkit, keeping one name with several different numbers (home, mobile, work)?
Now I get multiple entries:
John/work
John/home
John/mobile

Parrot 6100
I have a parrot 6100 in both of my cars and the contacts sync fine. One name: 3 numbers. Do you have your device allowing sim access to the parrot?

Sorry for the late respons.
Where can you change the setting if you want to allow sim access from the parrot? I can't find this feature.

yes you can do this you need windows mobile 6.1 and parrot firmware 4.17a or above.
then first time you connect the phone it will ask if it can have access to your address book just say yes and from then on all will be fine.
only problem i have is it tries to sync the call log every time
Thanks
Paul

Hi,
I have version 4.17A installed on the parrot, but I don't get the question if I want to sync address book. Is there a way to force this?

no what version of windows mobile are you using.
Paul

Sorry, I'm using WM 6.1

Hmmmm, which WM6.1 ROM are you running? I'm on the AT&T official 6.1 on the Tilt and my Parrot CK3100 has 4.18a and I don't get the PBAP phone book sync - I get the Name/H and Name/W entries still.

Goodlink

I am using goodlink on my TILT and when i go to send an sms it doesnt pull my goodlink contacts only my sim contacts.. any clue how to access goodlink contacts for sms?
The Windows Mobile OS will only pull up the native contact list. If you are using ver 5 of GoodLink you can get the GoodLink server IT admin guys to be sure that the one way (that is from GoodLink to your native contacts) is enabled on your phone.
According to GoodLink literature the reason for this functionality is just for this reason and for things like Voice Command (or other voice dialers) that also use the native contact list. In this case the OS uses the native contact list for SMS msgs

Quick question .. how did you get goodlink on your tilt...my restore from backup method did not seem to work. Did you do an OTA install?
EDIT: See my solution posted below
What version of Goodlink are you running?
Do you know if your admin guys have upgraded to ver 5?

Just figured it out ... problem was I had goodlink on my 8525 too (which as of about 20 mins ago, when the fedex guy got here, is being retired), and I could only have it on one device at a time. Once I figured that out, just got a new PIN for the Tilt and it seems to be running the OTA provisioning without a problem.

Mine pushed out 4.9.3.21 and it's working just fine...
I got our admin guys to upgrade to 5.0 then upgraded (it automatically loaded it). It looks a little different to 4.93. its not that much of a big deal except you get a nice RSS and the ability to make a calendar appointment private (finally). BUT admin gets to see all the apps you have on your Kaiser and they can lock anything out! you can also get your admin ppl to allow good contacts to be used for native lookup (phone, sms etc.) but it didnt seem to function as well as activesyncing contacts (it doesnt show company name - in fact it doesnt sync company name and you end up with lots of UNNAMED contacts).
I also had a couple of issues on the install becuase Activesync forces you to add a password and Good doesnt like this when it installs. tyherefore in the end i did it via ahard reset.
All in all, its a luittle better. im testing it for stability before they roll it out to thers where I work.
Please report back on the experience - It would be great to know how things work before I try an push for the upgrade as well.
How well does that RSS work, and is it only set up on the phone, or does it sync with your Outlook acct? (ie - is it a box in your exchange account like the native rss support in Outlook 2007)
Good vs. BBC
I have used goodlink for years starting on my treo 650 then my trusty (kind of) 8525. The whole separate contacts thing really annoyed me so when I got my tilt I switched to, dare I say, blackberry connect. As opposed to using separate software to manage the calendar and contacts, it uses the built in wm apps so the contacts issue goes away. Just something to think about if you have the option to use either one...

Jetware, Tytn II and CK3100 contact synchronizing

Hi all,
I'm using Jetware 1.30 to push my TyTnII contacts to my parrot CK3100. I've set "phonebook options > set limits > limit how many numbers to sync > outlook : 0" in Jetware to avoid automatic synchronisation as I found elsewhere on the internet. This works fine for me, but automatic synchronisation would be preferred. Therefore:
1.Does anyone know if it syncrhonises ok (means also several numbers for one contact without the annoying "\m \h" extensions) removing the 'set limits' out of jetware?
2.Does 1.31 (newest version) work properly?
Thank you
Here's a screenshot of the limit option that i've set:
No Automatic sync that I know of
I have a 3400-LS Parrot when synchronising my contacts it puts the annoying /h /m etc. What I do is a manual push of the contact from the handset and use the jetware exactly the same as you are doing. This is not an automated system and I have not yet found a way to do this. If you find a way then I would be very interested but in the 2 years of having HTC handsets and a parrot I have not yet found an automated way of syncing the contacts correctly.
Great thank you for your reply. Are you using the newest version (1.31) and is it working properly?
And do I have to delete all contacts in my Parrot before doing a new contact push via jetware on my Tytn?
JetWARE 1.31, HTC TC & Alpine KCE-350BT
Am trying to get the above combination to work. Just wanted to know if anyone has any bluetooth fixes to get contacts to transfer in the correct format to the car kit.
It did work at one point and bring them all across, but after turning off BT then on again the carkit can't find the phone again. Tried all kinds of combinations but Jetware doesn't seem to work as intended.
Appreciate any other ideas. Haven't got any replies from any other threads about this.
Stopped working with wm6.1
Hi Guys,
just upgraded my Kaiser to WM6.1 and jetware is not working anymore, it stopped controlling the Specified categories to synchronize with my parrott 3100, the device just synchronize all, any solution or should i go search for an alternative? if there is any alternative.

Dialing from a Calendar in WM6 w Mob Ofc 6.1

Anyone able to dail from their calendar from WM6? I am on a Tilt running WM6 with Mobile Office 6.1 but it is not working for me ....
should be:
tel:xxxxxxxxxx
in the notes of any calendar item but not for me....
here is the Microsoft URL .....
http://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsMobile/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2430713&SiteID=65&mode=1
figured it out.. think I have found a bug ... i was initially using my PC updating my calendar item in the notes and then letting MS AS sync the change to the phone ... never got that to work ... but if i just add the number to the notes on my PC then Sync to the phone ...then go into the phone and add tel: to the front of the number as well as a space after the number - it works!
Is there a way to do this without having to edit the appointment on the phone?
is there a registry tweak or CAB file that will automatically recognize phone numbers and emails in the calendar?
Also, I noticed it is not possible to this in the subject line, only the notes.
I don't understand why this is automatically done in WM 6 standard on my Moto Q and not in WM 6 pro on my Kaiser. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

goodlink software contacts

Guys,
My org uses goodlink (good.com) as the email service provider not microsoft's push mail. I recently upgraded to a tilt and changed the rom promptly to schapps latest release.
The way the good software works is that it adds its own software stack (email/contacts/calendar etc) which syncs to the my outlook. The problem this creates is that my contacts do show up (the right softkey button leads to contacts which are the goodlink contact list) but are not connected to my dialer.
To be able to use smart dialling i then have to manually sync my phone to my computer to copy the contacts again which is a pain. My previous phone was based on windows 2003 whose dialler showed the goodlink contacts directly.
If there are any ideas or suggestions please let me know.

This is not what is supposed to happen. I use GL too. If you sync with Active synch eventually, you will end up with duplicate contacts. Sometimes it takes a bit of time for this to occur. This applies to GL 5. In 4.9, I had to do exactly as you are stating...synch only the contacts with active synch.
interestingly, I have a post regarding Good Mail. I found that using the XDA Live 3.0 (WM6.1) with the reTOUCHED dialpad, my contacts, while in the phone mode, linked to my Lotus notes contacts, not my local ones.
If I'm understanding you correctly, this is exactly what you want to happen (exactly the opposite of what I want to happen on mine).
I have 5.0.3.23 good mail with the above and it works the way you want yours...
Good luck,
MBN

With 5.0 the contacts are shared. If you sync with active sync, they will be duplicated because you are already syncing the mail server. GL 5 takes over much more of the system than past versions. I have found no way to change its behavior at all. If I make changes, it has protections in it that undoes the changes.
thanks for the help guys. I got on IT's case and changed my GL version to 5.0 and a hard reset and the installation of the retouched dialler everything is now working exactly the way i want it. Thanks guys!

Have you tried using Microsoft Voice command with Goodlink contacts? in my search for a solution i found a thread on another forum which said that voice commands/dialling wont work with goodlink contacts and we will have to sync them again. Im going to be trying it anyway but just wondering if somebody has already done the effort.
I can also vouch for that. I am the good admin at my org and the latest 5.0.4.46 works quite nice with outlook contacts and allows for smart dialing.

I use voice speed dial and it works with GL 5 owning the contacts without doing a sync via active sync. Haven't used MS VCMD so ymmv.

I just wish I could talk my IT guys into a longer wait period before locking the phone...30 minutes kind of sucks when using the GPS...in a car. Any ideas for hacks? I haven't found any.

Phonebook from BB Curve to AT&T Tilt

Ok so I searched the forum and the wiki and could not find how to do this. So I have a BB Curve and I am going to transfer to a AT&T Tilt. Now I need my phonebook that is on the device to transfer to the Tilt, and I can not find anyway to do so. Also to add to the problem I will not have the BB after I get the Tilt because I trading the BB for the Tilt and the BB needs to be completely wiped when I go meet the guy to trade. Also my phonebook is not on the SIM and there is no option from me to transfer contacts to the SIM so please HELP!
Do you have windows vista or xp?

VERY EASY
Number 1 you need some version of outlook on your computer
You want to set the desktop manager to sync to outlook
After you verify the contacts are there
Then install microsoft activesync
Activesync will put the contacts in outlook on your tilt
AND VIOLA
Does activesync work with blackberries?
ALSO
If you dont have outlook
You can download Yahoo Go 2.0
To your blackberry
Once you open it
hit the menu button and you should have the option to sync address book
Let it go through its sync process and you should be able to see the count increasing as it goes
Once its finished
Put your sim card in your tilt
and download ppcygonet
And install yahoo go to your tilt
After its installed you gonna do the same thing
except it will see 0 contacts on your tilt and pull them from yahoo and put them on your tilt
The only downside is it will also sync all the email addresses you have in your addressbook on yahoo as well

No activesync only works for Windows Mobile devices
For the blackberry you need Blackberry Desktop Manager
Which is on the BB User Tools CD that came with your device
Or download it from www.blackberry.com
Thanks a lot that worked like a charm. Never thought of it since I don't use outlook often.
