IDEA for an app I'd pay for!!! - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

It would be great with a little app you could use with Opera 9.5 or Pocket IE to use the touch sensitive scroll wheel to scroll up/down in pages.
I know it's used for zooming in Opera but with a little "switch" (option) you could enable it to scroll up/down instead.
Would be awesome to use for fine scrolling pages.

Gets my vote 2

my internet explorer does tht ..maybe it came with the rom im using the latst swift rom and tht happens wen u use the scroll wheel u go down

Try this....
This isn't exactly what you're after, but it's definitely worth a look.
GScroll navigation using the touch area at the bottom of the Diamond!

but that osts money mate

Browser Advice: Try this Opera Mini CAB

In case no one has seen this yet, I highly recommend to try this "build" of Opera Mini:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=455655
It solves the issue of small fonts, and has no problem with data connections or permissions. It is FAAAAST. It is best version I've seen, and I've tried a bunch of them.
After 10 minutes with this, it is hard to go back to another browser. My advice -- embrace the "mobile" rendering mode, don't bother with the desktop pan/zoom mode, and enjoy simply paging up/down (with the left/right dpad) on pages that are reformatted almost perfectly on the small screen.
UPDATE: and, by the way, to use your BACK key to go back in pages, add this registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Keybd\ChangeBackVKeyCode\Jbed_NativeUI = dword:00000008
(This makes the BACK key map to BACKSPACE, so it will also delete text when doing data entry, etc.)
I will certainly give this a try........thanks for the highlight.
I downloaded and installed the cab. The browsers good, but is there anyway to make the menu button at the bottom larger, because currently I am not even able to access it.

Well the easiest way to change that would be Menu -> Settings, and then change the font size, but if you can't access the menu button at all I think you can change the font sizes in the registry. I don't remember the location off-hand though.
could anyone post a screenshot please??
which version is now the best?? 20081016 or 20081203??
this browser is super fast, but i miss the zoom and drop down menus dont seem to work
I like it better than the default opera, but I have noticed some issues.
extending the keyboard seems to cause trouble, it causes the touchflo gui to cover up the opera menu bar. Tilting does not change from portrait to landscape.
Awesome browser. I wish you could zoom with the scrolling motion on the D-Pad like opera mobile, or that you could zoom at all. Thats the only problem. :/
Oh and if you start with your keyboard out the Touch Flo doesn't interfer with the menu bar at the bottom.
EDIT: I changed the font size, so zooming isn't needed. I love the mouse, it is so awesome. How can I set this as my default?
is this the one with the rainbow loading screen for the jvm?

Need Opera browser With slider for zoom

I had a version of opera browser and it had a little slider bar on the bottom of the screen to slide for zooming in and out instead of useing those plus and minus keys the had on the screen. I cant remember which version it was.. Anyone know?
thanks
I would try an opera version that's been ported from the Diamond, seems those always have the sliders. Try looking around in this thread, and just try some different versions. Good luck,
Dave
OK thanks will check it out

Left-Handed Diamond?

Wouldn't it be great to have a Diamond FOR LEFT HANDS? Even though I'm a Right-Hander, I have a friend who's a lefty, and wants one. Post other ideas and pics and ideas for morphing the Diamond.
I am a lefty and proud to be one.
I don't care so much about the hardware buttons on the phone, but more about the software.
Most of the time when I try to scroll using a slibebar I dont see anymore whats on screen because my left hand is covering the screen to reach the bars. Thats more the kind of stuff that buggs me...
Windows should ask after a hard reset if you want to install right hand or left hand windows.
Tomtom does have "lefty-support" and I like it.
I'm a rightie, but I can control my diamond with both of my hands.
I think, the only problem controlling the diamond with my left hand is the vertical scrollbar. Except that, I don't think there's another issue.
But there SHOULD be an option to put the scrollbar to any side of your preference.

I do not use wm6.5 mate.
I'm with wm6.1
So, I don't have a clue what you're talking about.
There is no any application to moving sidebar on the left??
Not only for Diamond! but for any other HTC device would be great to have a left handed!!
I want it too..!

Hmmm, anyone know the whereabouts of a rotate screen app

Am using windows Mobile 6.1 and all the screen rotate pannels etc I have found apparently were for a previous version of windows mobile? I have no idea just can't get them to work on install.
Am at the point now where I am just so annoyed of having to pull out my keyboard whenever I want to be playing music etc.
Anyone point me in the right direction
been an idle lurker here for months, just hate messaging. Keep up the good work guys
I can't figure out exactly what you want the phone to do..
The Xperia X1 does not have an accelerometer, so it can't 'feel' how it is oriented if that's your problem. The only way to rotate the screen is through settings - screen orientation, or sliding out the hardware keyboard.
I hope it helps...
- Sofa
you could always map a button to rotate the screen...
AE Button plus.
quickmenu also provides rotate
maybe a little less comfortable as you need to access the respective submenu manually
Why didn't I think of that... Mapped a button.
Thankya.
BUMP
nobody with ideas?
ok i guess you want to rotate screen with some software.. ?
SPB Mobile Shell (available as a panel for free) or SPB Pocket Plus (commercial) both provide such a feature.

Dolphin Mini 1.0 available

Hi,
Fyi, I just noticed that Dolphin Mini browser is now out of beta, available on market.
The key changes, for me are that you can now select plugin behavior, and setting a gesture to Homepage now correctly goes to the Speed dial page, so I can use fullscreen almost 100%.
Jim
I really like it so far, seems to scroll smoother and they downsized those monster tabs! I'll have to try it on my phone.

Yeah. Looks nice.
It took me awhile, but I'm starting to like Dolphin Mini.
I still think that Xscope is faster, but I've been having problems with Flash (other thread here), and I really want a browser where I can leave it in full screen to take advantage of the Gtab screen size, without constantly pressing Menu to navigate.
The Dolphin Mini 1.0 allows me to do that.
Basically, I set all of the links that I usually go to on the Homepage/Speed dial page.
Then I set a gesture (a small "h") to go to the Speed Dial. Then go to fullscreen.
So now, whenever I want to go back to speed dial, I just do the "h" gesture, and I go from there, staying fullscreen all the time.
