I have my yahoo mail account set up through pocket outlook, everything works ok except when I send messages, they don't show up in the sent folder. I have the setting checked that should save all sent items, so I'm stumped as to why it won't work. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
I would say you have two possibilities, one no E-Mails are being sent or two you need to go to your message option and select the check box which tells it to save a copy in your sent folder.
Unfortunately, this seems to be a common problem, especially with IMAP email accounts. From what I have read so far (Search IMAP Issues on XDA), there is no fix for this and is an issue with Windows Mobile.
Hopefully you don't have the issue where you cannot send email attachments as well... that's another common IMAP issue....
SIGH!!!
Magic Solution
I've been browsing various posts about this problem and just found a simple solution to my problem that might help others.
I have a yahoo account set up for for IMAP sync with my handheld. The "Keep copies of sent items in sent folder" box under options...message was checked. Yet my handheld was saving none of the emails I had sent.
I also noted that I have two folders for sent in my account: one called "sent" and one called "sent items".
My solution was to check "Sent Items" for sync under the Menu...Tools...Manage Folders option on the handheld. Syncing the "Sent" folder had no effect.
Having set the "Sent Items" folder for sync, all the emails I had previously sent magically appeared on both my handheld and on my yahoo account. Amazing.
I hope someone else finds this helpful.
Thanks tedkle! Your solution worked perfectly! My Sent Items now appear on both my handheld and Yahoo account.
Now for the next challenge. . . I also synchronize with Outlook, so Yahoo, my device and my desktop Outlook all need to be in synch.
Is there any way to take your solution one step further and also have mail sent from my device also appear in Outlook? It would appear that a setting in Yahoo needs to be flipped to "Push" items in "Sent Items" folder as well as items in the "Inbox"?
Thanks again!
Great!
That solve the problem. I was told by a tech representative that it was a flaw with Windows Mobile. furthermore, he said that the telco technician confirmed that.
All that after putting down $500 for a PPC smartphone. Hopefully, the telco will come up one day with smart-technicians.
Thanks a lot

Hi,
I am using IMAP on Kaiser to get e-mail and I have set the option on Kaiser to "Keep copies of sent items in Sent folder" but it does't do it.
I have a subfolder of "Inbox" called "Sent mail" (created automatically) and a separate "Sent mail" folder but when I send e-mail, it doesn't appear in any of them.
I deleted the account once and created it again, but still no luck. All e-mail I have sent from kaiser vanish.
Any suggestions?
Sent Emails - Not Storing
Does anyone know why the TyTn II phone does not save your sent emails to the send folder? I have checked all setting on my phone and checked with my service provider and they have advised that it's a technical issue with the phone?
Does anyone have a solution?

Are you using an Exchange server, or POP3 or IMAP?
Have you checked if the folder for send items is checked under Manage Folders?
I am using IMAP. All settings on the phone have been checked and are correct.
Apparently, anyone who is with the "Three" Network and is viewing their 3 email address using their TYTN II phone will have issues with emails being stored in the sent folder.
Apparently, the HTC TYTN II phone has a few troubles with IMAP4 servers.
Sometimes it will store the sent emails and sometimes not.
There has got to be a solution for this.
Three said that nothing can be done and HTC said to reinstall the ROM.
Can anyone help? Does anyone have any advice?
It is frustrating going back and forth between the two companies.

I have TyTN II with original firmware, tried soft and hard resets but nothing helps - no email is stored in "Sent messages" when I use IMAP. I live in Estonia and the operator is EMT. Can't remember if I tried POP3 or not, probably I did try and it didn't help. Right now my TyTN II is in service since it stopped accepting incoming calls and letting me make calls while 3G is available, no matter what band selection I make in the settings. I could only make calls if I turn 3G off or am connected to a cell that doesn't support 3G.
This is the 3rd time my unit is in service (1st speaker ceased to work, 2nd "Fn" light ceased to work and now I can't even use it as a phone).
It's probably gonna be my first and last HTC.
Really Irritating ...
I have Tele2Comviq here in Sweden and my sent messages don't save either. I am using an exchange server ... it is quite irritating. A fix would be great!

I have this problem as well.
It is amazing that a device such as the kaiser can have such a major bug in it (what is the point of having a 'sent' folder if the email system can't save any sent items?).
Go to the account picker screen. scroll through the accounts until you find one that will allow you to select "options" in the menu softkey popup. Go to the message tab & make sure all boxes are checked.
Did you manage to find a solution for this?
I'm having the same problem with my imap email (provided by 1and1.co.uk). Sent items are never saved on the PPC.
There are many posts on this forum but none have an answer to the problem.
Have you subscribed to the Sent Items folder(s)?
Need to go to Menu > Tools > Manage Folders and select the folder in question.
or make sure the option to save sent mail is checked in the settings
Yep have done that already.
When I do send a message from my device, the email is there for a few seconds- but as soon as the send/receive is complete, the message disappears forever.
My Exchange mail works fine but IMAP not so(!)

I have done that too.
When you log in to their webmail interface does your PPC sent e-mail show in either of the folders?

It doesn't show on there neither. It wouldn't be too bad if it saved it in at least one location, be it not the PPC.

Remember the settings for how long to keep the messages on your device.
I appreciate everyone suggesting to go to options --> manage folders and to ensure sent items is ticked.
This will generally work for POP accounts but IMAP apparently has issues with it. Sometimes it will store the sent email and most times it wont.
Any other fixes????

Yep, true- I actually had the same account setup as a POP account but then I needed the folders, messages, etc sync'd so tried out IMAP only to realise this problem.
I read in other posts that the sent item folder has to be called ''Sent Items". With 1and1.co.uk it is called "Sent" and of course I can't rename a non-user created folder.
Somehow I screwed up the setup of my tilt, and the tilt thought it was syncing with 2 different computers with the same name, but I only sync with my laptop. I fixed that, and the tilt thinks it syncs with only one computer.
I have two email accounts: both are active, but are pretty much interchangeable. Both accounts put emails into the same Outlook inbox. Before I fixed the problem mentioned above, I had three email folders or accounts on my tilt. One got email from my first account, one got email from my second account, and one was what I had on my laptop. When I would sync up, the emails in the first and second account would disappear and be moved to the account called "Outlook." That was fine with me. I file all my emails on the laptop, so no problems. The only glitch was I couldn't reply from emails filed in the Outlook box, but I fixed that. But now the emails in my first account aren't moving over, so that inbox on the tilt is filling up, and the emails are duplicated in my Outlook inbox on the tilt. I can't figure out how to get my first account to sync up. Can anyone help me? Do I need to create a 'second' computer again?
Thanks again for all the help here.
Phil
Ummm try this I don't know if it will help. But open up your Outlook Inbox
Hit Menu
Tools
Manage Folders
There should be boxes in there that may not be checked. Check them and see if that helps your problem.
I don't seem to have the Manage Folders option.
I searched - please believe me but didn't find a solution for my problem.
I do NOT get an entry of sent messages with my tilt in the SENT folder though the option is active regardless if I use the corporate outlook or my private email accounts (gmail and roadrunner).
Any idea or solution,
Strange enough SENT messages are stored in the corp. outlook sent folder (which I can check through the PC at work or ms webmail) and the sent message comes to the INBOX in gmail.
I'm puzzled
AT&T tilt with February edition AT&T firmware no bloatware installed
You have to tell your Pocket Outlook to Synch with your Exchange Server
Open Active Sync on your PC
Wait 5 minutes (allow time for sync, etc)
Click "Select Folders"
Make sure "Sent Items" has a checkmark
It DOES sync with zero problems with the corp. outlook but does NOT create any entries on the tilt sent folder though they are created at the server.
i have the same problem with my gmail with dutty rom
In Pocket Outlook, have you gone into Menu > Tools > Manage Folders and ticked to synchronise your Sent Items? When I first set up my Exchange and IMAP e-mails, this wasn't ticked by default so the folders always looked blank.
Edit: Just realised this is exactly what MajorD suggests, just from the phone rather than the PC. Still might be worth trying.
OK, for outlook it works COOL T H A N K S but in gmail I still get my sent message in the inbox though I can live with that - it's just one tab-hold-delete...
Hi all,
It's not really a Diamond specific issue, more a Windows Mobile one, but since I'm running Direct Push on the Diamond now, I thought it would be ok to post this here.
I have Direct Push enabled (Microsoft Exchange) and it works.
I have quite a few subfolders in my 'Inbox' on the Exchange server, having Outlook sending email to the appropriate folder as they arrive, using Outlook's 'rules'.
On the Diamond (mailbox 'Outlook') I can see all those folders and I have marked them all for sync - which works.
Now the problem is that I only receive a pushmail notification (sound alert/vibration and onscreen message) for email that is not send to a subfolder by a rule, and that stays in 'Inbox'.
When I receive mail that was sent to a subfolder by rule, it get pushed to the same subfolder in the Diamond, but without any notification.
Now who's dealing with a situation like this, and knows how I can get my new email notification for all subfolders?
Thanks!!
I've got the same problem, and it is realy a problem because I've have a lot of subfolders.
Jacky
Same problem for me too... any luck figuring it out?
-Alex
I've wished for this for a long time and I know of no solution. I have rules running in Outlook to sort only messages that I don't need immediate notification of on my device. The rules to sort the others are disabled. Periodically, I manually run the other rules to sort my inbox.
I have a "different" but effective workaround for this:
Are you guys using Server side rules to move all of the e-mails to the different folders?
I set all my rules to be client (Outlook) side. So when I am at my notebook, the e-mail will be moved to the correct folders. When I am out in the field, and using my Diamond, those rules obviously don't run, so everything stays in my Inbox and I get notified of all the mails.
Back in the office, my Outlook rules will move it to the correct folders when I open Outlook.
Like I said, not the best of ways to do it, but it works for me
A probably dump question, but wanted to see if my company is running push enabled email and if is it possible to receive mail notifications on my Diamond by knowing the following: company is using Exchange Server - I can check my work email only either via Outlook client or Outlook Web Access.
From the above does it seem that I can have push email working on my Diamond? Do they have to be running some special push server for this to work.
I know I can ask this IT department, but wanted to clarify this here before I approach them.
Thanks.
@ EazyVG,
Since you're accessing email through OWA (and Outlook Client), that means your company is using MS Exchange Server(and Microsoft Direct Push, which is a part of Exchange Server).
So you can get the emails pushed on your Diamond as soon as they arrive(or any device that supports Direct Push for that matter) just by configuring an email account on your device with the settings same as of your email server.
Thanks for the info.
So, there is no solution to the topic-title issue?

There are several applications that you can try:
MessageNotify - Installs as Today Plugin, showing all subfoders with new e-mails
You can find it on Softpedia.
And CheckMail that claims to do the same, but the site section dedicated to the software is unavailable at the moment I was writing this post
The producer is called Magicashop
(sorry for not being able to send links to those applications, but xda forum prevents me since this is my first post)

Hi guys,
I'm having a bit of a strange issue with using email. I have my GMAIL account set-up, and it works fine, constantly pulls my emails through and I am able to send emails fine as well.
The problem though is that when I send an email, it doesn't appear in any of the folders on the mail tab if i go back to search for it later.
Is anyone else having this issue using GMAIL on their Diamond 2?
Perhaps you need to make sure your SENT MAIL folder is set up to synch with the server. I had a similar issue with Yahoo Mail - if you're using IMAP instead of POP, then you can (and should) set up which of the folders on the server you want to synch with. I think that by default, your inbox and outbox are the only ones that get synched.
From the Mail tab in Manila, press INBOX. Then press MENU > Tools > Manage Folders.
Thanks Jim. Syncing the folders did the trick however it has raised another issue. All the emails in my sent folder just show my email address and the subject line and not who i actually sent the email too. Is this normal and how yours looks too?
Ha! I never noticed that before! Yes mine does the same. To see who you sent the message to, you have to open the message and scroll up.
That's a bit weird. I guess by default the mail app displays the sender and subject, which is fine for your inbox but a bit daft for the sent items folder. Not sure if it can be changed though.
Interesting...
I can not confirm the issue. When i change zu the folder "Sent" (in WM-Interface), i see the recipient, subject, date and size in the list - and not the sender. Same in "Outgoing".
