[SOLVED!! look at the end of the thread]
hello,
i'm in real trouble.
the beginning of my trouble was:
i updated my kaiser with the new vodafone 6.1 rom.
from this point, i can't sync anymore...
i tried really everything what was suggested in google/forums and the forum here.
- hard-reset
- deleted reg-keys (partnership)
- uninstalled WMDC and installed real fresh
- rolled back to VPA Rom 6.0 and back to 6.1 because of the same problem
- tried every settings (advanced network mode)
- disabled firewalls
- .. and so on...
can't get rid of this f*** problem...!
any ideas?? i'll make a donation for the guy who can solve my problem without doing a fresh vista installation!
--> domain network! but there isn't any difference while syncing?
--> i can copy data to my VPA and reverse, explorer mode works fine!
--> Windows Vista x64 Ultimate
please can you help me?!
sorry for my bad english!

Which operating system are you trying to sync with?
First thing you can try is to go start, settings, connections, usb to pc and then untick "enable advanced network functionality"
let me know if that works or not I will give you something else to try.
1.Why don't you try another rom eg a hyperdragon's one.
2.Have you tried more than one pcs to synchronise with? Maybe you have problems with your pcs operating system
If still a problem might be a defective usb port.
Does WMDC even acknowledge your Kaiser?
Launch WMDC from the Control Panel, and then then connect your phone. Do you see "Connecting" pop up for even a second before switching back to "Not Connected"?
If nothing else has worked so far try this:
Go to Device Manager, delete the "Portable Device" keys, then go to c:\windows\inf folder (Make sure you can view hidden folders). Next, find the oemxx files until you find the one that has "Windows Mobile Smartphone" in it. These are numbered sequentially for each device you add, so you'll have to do a bit of digging before you find the right one. Once you find it, delete it and the corresponding .pnf file. Once you've done this, reboot your computer and reconnect your device and it should reinstall. Be sure to make copies of the files just in case you delete the wrong ones.
thank you very much for answering so fast!
answers to your questions:
-Which operating system are you trying to sync with?
--> Vista x64 Ultimate
- First thing you can try is to go start, settings, connections, usb to pc and then untick "enable advanced network functionality"
--> tried a couple of times ticked and unticked --> only gives back different rapimgr fault codes, but still no sync
defective UDB --> trided different cables and ports
connection to kaiser works very well (without sync)!
--> can see my kaiser in explorer an can copy files!
only syncing does not work :-(

Do you have HardSPL installed on your phone so you can try flashing a non stock rom? Alot of the sync problems on stock roms are fixed by the chefs when they cook their own roms. Look at the links in my sig for some threads to look at.

i thought about it...
but worrying about: why does WM 6.0 and WM 6.1 rom work anymore?
flashed back to WM 6.0 (asked vodafone for it!!) and the problem is there anymore?
i've read a litte bit about hardspl and flashing...
is it very difficult?
Guten Aben!
Any chance you can redo your Vodaphone update from a good XP machine? Sometimes it works when Vista doesn't.
It only needs to download Activesync from Microsoft's website if it doesn't have it already.
This happened to me a long time ago, it turned out that rebooting Windows PC after changing the network settings worked, just like in the old Win98 days. I am referring to the Activesync network setting.
For some reason the realtime registry edits for networking wasn't so realtime!
Good luck friend!

No its not difficult at all.
Read this guide I made for Flashing your First Rom its helped alot of people out and the steps are easy to follow
The guide has steps for flashing from MicroSD Card too if you dont trust Vista.
Try this. I ran into issues syncing with my Vista Ultimate x64 machine when running a particular cooked ROM, and this CAB fixed it for me.
I hate to ask such a mundane question, but you are running in administer mode with full access, right?
You can also check out this site http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/faqs/wmdc/connectoverview.htm
SOLVED!
hy,
okay, first of all i have to thank everybody who wanted to help me!
but all things you suggested to me: i tried i weeks before i opend this thread.
i wasn't able to solve my problem --> donation aquired...
but i figured it out on my own (now, months later, one day later i opened this therad ).
but i think the soloution can help many users who whave sync problems ant the rapimgr 0x00... problem!
remembered that i had sync problems years ago under XP with an PPC2002 machine when copyied the sync.-profile from one machine to the other.
i remembered the HLKM\Windows CE reg keys!
i asked my brother for his HLKM\Windows CE reg keys! (you remember i asked in this thread also)!
checked the keys with mine and figured out, that my keys where completely different and many keys are missing!
i exported my reg keys and deleted them in the registry. (HLKM\...\Windows CE (look in ahead and you know whitch keys i'm meaning)) --> backup
then i imported the reg HLKM\Windows CE keys from my brother !
conected my VPA and TADAAAAAAA, working!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i think this can be another soloution for all guys who have problems with sync and an reinstall of WMDC dosn't do the trick!
wondering why an reinstallation of WMDC doesn't create the HLKM\Windows CE keys correctly???
thanks a lot for your ideas, even when they didn't help.
Glad you fixed it, if you can provide me with more details of the keys and values you changed i can test it out and make a cab to possibly help other people in the future

okay, i'll zip two .reg files (PC-Side). my "not working reg" and "working reg keys" from my brother that i imported.
i think WMDC is calling some dlls. when they aren't in the registry WMDC gives you a strange answer back...
still the question: why does a reinstallation of WMDC do not create these keys?
maybe these parts are interesting:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows CE Services\SpecialDefaults\PocketPC\Services\Synchronization]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows CE Services\SpecialDefaults\PocketPC\Services\Synchronization\Objects]
okay, here they are:

i am having the same problem except with windows XP and active sync 4.5
the odd thing is that it worked fine a month ago. i havent changed my ROM, installed/uninstalled anything on my phone. my computer, is a different story, i did install office 2007. i hadnt synced my phone for a month, so i decided it was about time. i connect via USB, and i get nothing. not even a little sound saying a device was connected. the phone charges but thats about it.
i have tried, muliple computers, multiple USB ports, multiple wires. I did a hard reset. And i finally tried the registry keys on this thread. still doesnt work. any ideas?
**i have also check/unchecked the "enable advanced network functionality" box

Hi all,
I've tried many times to load PHM Registry Editor on my Kaiser with Windows Mobile 6 without success.
Does PHM Registry Editor work with Windows Mobile 6? If not, is there another one that may work?
Thanks,
Phil
Works for me
My installation worked.
mine too.. it is actually one of the few that did work, and pretty good.

It does work, give us some more details and let's see if we can help.
How far do you get?
Is it a Cab or Exe?
Do you get any error messages?
etc
Alternative - perhaps Total Commander using the //plugins directory.

Hi,
Okay, that's good news to me, it will work, and it's just me
Here's the details; When I goto http://www.phm.lu/downloads/download.aspx?{940B734A-C437-41C7-ADED-2A4418802FD3}

Cheers,

Ok. From this site:
http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/RegEdit/
Choose this one from the list:
Pocketpc 2002 2003 arm/pxa
Move the unopened cab file to device with AS explorer function.
Tap it to install. (I have mine installed to SD card)
Mike
I have a really good reg editor here if you need it.
(Got it from.... a tool pack)
Since the upload doesn't allow this type of file... i had to zip it
anyway put it on the device of your htc phone and run it from there.
Note: its not an install, its an actual application
Another good reg editor is resco, and total commander.
(total commander's registry is in the root //)
Hi,
Wow, thanks. That worked without a hitch and I opened it up successfully on the phone. Thank you Mike, great help and right to the point. What did I miss? How would I have known that the 'PocketPC 2002.2003 (ARM/PXA)' was the file I needed for a HTC TyTNN II with Windows Mobile 6?
No to look at some of those useful edits, after a complete registry back up of course.
Cheers,
Phil

Just for general info on downloading file types:
Many sites offer a choice of different application file types to download I always go for the CAB file rather than the EXE file. The CAB file you install by putting it on the SD Card and tapping it. The advantage is that if you ever need to re-install you do not need your PC, just tap on the CAB again to install it.
For this and most devices nowadays you should choose:
ARM files
POCKETPC or PPC files (not smartphone)
WM5 or WM6 may also be stated. Most WM5 apps will work on WM6 and many WM 2003 apps will also work.
Nearly always if it's an EXE download then this is meant to be opened on the PC with the device connected by AS or Device Centre. Very occassionally you will come across an EXE that has to be put on the device and then run. (these rare files usually have a statement telling you to do this).
Thanks Mike, great info and very useful.
Cheers,
Phil
I have tested a few HTC Comm Managers(new black theme. Kaiser style) and low and behold non of them have the wifi working right. I cannot enable/disable it from the comm manager. Anybody find a real working one that does this? Even some that were claimed to be "FIXED" didn't work...
Anyone have a dump of the original also? (stock WM6)
I've got the same problem since the upgrade to WM6. Nothing works: soft-hard reset, upgrade... WLAN doesn't works (since comm manager).
me too...any solution mods?
Same problem here... The default WM6 HTC comm manager is working corectly.
anyone have a cab file of the original? incase i want to revert back to it?
You might find the fix here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=326655&highlight=wing+10+button
What's wrong with it?
I'd tried to install http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=48832&d=1188607222
And then, the following message: "Installation was unsuccessful. The program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have sufficient system p ermissions"
...
When I try to do the change in registry, a new surprise: in the registry tree, after CommManager doesn't exist "WLAN", but numbers (0,1,2,3... and in 3 there's WLAN). The change in registry: NOT WORK YET!
I've found the problem (maybe...). In folder "Connections" there's not Wi-Fi icon... what it means?

SAME THING HERE! No permission to do this! I hope this does not result in a hard reset.
OK, I finally got anew one installed. Even though I tried a fresh install after a reboot, I still couldnt get it installed. So, what I did was start commmanager, Bthen stop it in Settings > Memory > Active programs
REALLY A GENIE!!! I'll try it...
It's Ok! Now, I could installed the comm manager, but it doesn't work... What I must fix exactly?
This is exactly what I did:
- Step 1: Copy to the phone and run it.
- Step 2: (Fixing WLAN button malfunction, somehow it doesn’t work by default on Wing): **Thanks for beowulf6’s post for this fix.
Change "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE \HTC \CommManager \WLAN= "Windows WLanMgr.exe " "DeviceName" = "{98C5250D-C29A-4985-AE5F-AFE5367E5006} TNETW12345"
the end of this long String is the WLAN-Adaptername of the Device.
just change in this Example "TNETW12345" into "TNETWLN1"
-Step 3: (Fixing Wi-Fi setting launch issue) **Thanks for phatman81’s post for this fix.
Change "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\CommManager\WLAN\ Default:"
\Windows\WlanMgr.exe --> \Windows\ctlpnl.exe
After all this... The WLAN icon is always off...
Nobody else has the same problem? It's incredible!! I begin to think that I've done something wrong. It has began after the upgrade to WM6... Now, I can't downgrade to WM5 because I don't have the rom WM5 original... :'(
That CommManager dosen't seem to work well. I had problems with it. I found another one that DID work though.

Do a search. You will find that you have to edit the settings in the registry for the comm manager.
I have this same problem. If anybody has a cab file of the stock tmo com manager, please post it!
Thanks in advance!
You guys...
Go into the registry and find out what the name is for the wireless adapter is. Take that information and change the adapter that is shown in the comm manager.
Thats really all there is to it.
If youre going to screw with the software, youre going to need to blood on your hands. You cant just throw stuff on the phones and expect it to work.
All right...
On my wing
\\\registry\HKLM\Software\HTC\CommManager\WLAN\<DeviceName>
{98C5250D-C29A-4985-AE5F-AFE5367E5006}\TNETTWLN1
That is the adapter for my phone, might be the same for you.
If youre using the changable comm manager you will have to change the settings for the wlan setup.
\\\registry\HKLM\Software\HTC\CommManager\WLAN\<Default>
\Windows\WrlsMgr.exe
Once again might be different for you.
Im using TouchIT 2.3 my stuff might be different.
I GOT IT

Hi,
I bought a Diamond 2 weeks ago in French (v1.37.406.1 FRE) and I started to install .cab applications.
I tried to install :
S2U2 (1.05)
S2V
ESET NOD32 (on official site for PPC)
PHM
psshutxp
Advanced config (the link of XDA)
CorePlayer
none have been installed. The error message is :
The installation of "the_cab" has failed

So I do an Hard Reset and I was able to install :
S2U2 (but not the link of XDA)
S2V
PHM (not in the official website)
psshutxp
Advanced config (not the link of XDA)
but not CorePlayer and ESET
So I do an Hard Reset again but after nothing works
I do 2 Hard Reset again and I flashed my original french rom for the french rom in this topic : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2344831&postcount=42
the original.
And doesn't work
Where is the problem ?
Thx
nobody ??!?
You sure you have enough free memory to install those programs??.
I have same problem... have several programs that just dont get installed for unknown reason and it is even I chose flashcard also...
try updating ROMs, 1.37 is nutoriously slow anyway so that would definately help in terms of speed, and maybe its a bug on your ROM and you'll kill two birds with one stone, worth a try seeing as you've hard reset and lost your data anyway
I just uploaded all the apps using ActiveSync and it all works... Can someone explain why with USB drive it will copy but not work as it should?
Can we test it somehow?
Did you still have the Diamond connected to PC and acting as a Hard drive if so there was your problem. When it is connected as a hard drive the Diamond will not see the WM device therefore when you are trying to install the program(Cab File) will not be able to install its reg settings to windows. I always disconnect my Diamond from PC after transferring Cab.

No no... sure I run CAB from the phone after I disconnected... I just upladed this via USB drive and it was making errors (just not working) but If I did same via ActiveSync it is working.
Can you explain this?
Hi all - thanks to all the ROM cookers and original Shift pioneers out there for making our device so much more than it was out of the box.
For what it's worth, and it might be nothing, I found the old HTCClearSnapVue exe file in a back up. I don't believe this file is available anymore. I used it on a liberated SnapVue to return it to it's original state (from Vista). I have no idea whether it works on a hardspl'd device or anything else. I just know it overwrites a liberated SnapVue and returns it to factory state (as does some other options - this is just easier as it is an exe file you run from Vista).
If anyone would like me to put this up on rapidshare I can...just make comment below.
Yes please, I'd like a copy of that.
OK - done - will post a link tonight...file will be renamed to HTCCSV or something similar to avoid obviousness....
Is it the same file that HTC has posted on their website?

When SnapVUE hangs or you have forgotten the lock password, the only way you can re-enter SnapVUE mode is to reset it first back to factory default settings. Download and install this hot fix to be able to reset SnapVUE to factory default settings from Windows Vista.

Make sure you select enable wireless connections while sync'd.
Regarding HSPL, have you tried thre manual install first? Otherwise it'll cost you.
Also, with the auto install or installing via RUU.exe active sync will disconnect and only USB connection will remain so it should be able to connect to the network during install.
I have resync many times but my internet doesnt work. It doesnt even work after removing the phone from active sync. The only way to make my connection work again is to restore my computer to a date before installing the activesync. Anyways i will try to connect it through my office computer if it didn't worked again.
And i am installing HSPL for the very first time so pls guide me on this, what's a manual install. I went through this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=520312
and going to install through this file " Topaz-HardSPL_V5_00R5_183HSPL.zip ". Am i doing it correct? And i dont have to install HSPL 1.33 before installing 1.83, i can start directly from 1.83 right??? And after that i will install the energy ROM through storage card method. Please confirm that i am doing it correctly. Any help regarding this will be highly appreciated.
Not sure about your ActiiveSync issue. So you instsall AS and you no longer can access internet from PC? What OS are you running? If its Vista, you use Windows Mobile Device Center, which replaced AS.
Regarding HSPL, I will be brief in my explanation and point you back to the thread and search for my posts as I have posted instructions there many times, they just get buried in the many pages.
There are 3 methods to flash;
1. Auto Install, where you download the Topaz-HardSPL_V5_00R5_183HSPL.zip and the enablenewrapi. cab, copy and install .cab to your device, sync to PC, then run .exe.
This method will ask you to donate and will not work unless you do.
2. Flash from SD card, you can rename any .nbh file to TOPAIMG.nbh, place in the root of your SD card, enter bootloader mode (search for instructions) and it will initiate the flash.
3. Custom RUU, find and download Topaz RUU.exe, place .nbh file in same folder as RUU.exe, sync your device to you PC and run the RUU.exe.
I use #3 exclusively and have never had an issue, others get stuck at 0% progress an have to soft reset.
I believe you need to flash 1.83, then flash to 2.51 but I am not 100% sure you can't flash directly to 2.51. Do not bother flashing 1.33.
I have provided tools for #2 and #3, #1 exe and cab are available in the HSPL thread.
If you thoroughly read all of my instructions and it does not work, your only option will be to pay through the auto install method and if you encounter issues open a ticket as instructed in the thread.
Thanks a lot. I will try the #3 method. And will post how it went. Thanks again.
I tried both the SD card and manual method and placed the "customRUU.exe" and the "1.83 nbh file" in the same folder in my PC and while activesynced i lauched the cutomRUU.exe but after going into that tri color screen and then into usb mode it just stucks at 0% and nothing happens. I waited for like 5 mins but it just got stuck at 0%. What should i do now?
BTW i have flashed my TD2 with the original ROM update of WinMo 6.5 before.

All,
for those who have Windows 7 and run with Office 2010 64bits it's not possible to sync your phone. The solution is to deinstall office 2010 and install office 2010 32 bits. You don't have to save your settings and files, after installing your system find everything incl. account setting
I still had sync problems; the second time i pluged in, my pc did not find my phone. Looking on internet i found the next solution and after trying i must say it works;
Same issues!
Here is what I have done:
Step 1: Connect my Samsung Omnia (SCH- i910) Touch Diamond II to the USB Port of PC. Windows automatically installed driver in device manager called "Microsoft Windows Mobile Remote Adapter." Windows Mobile Device Center automatically loaded.
Step 2: With WMDC running, I can browse all files on device, my storage, and storage card. I have options to add/delete programs. I can sync with Windows Media Player. I can also download all pictures and video files to the PC with a single click!
All this is great but the MOST important thing to me is to sync my Contacts with Microsoft Outlook. When I press "sync", if it hasn't tried to start automatically, the green icon in tray spins, everything looks like it's going to work but nothing. It just hangs there till I finally cancel and exit. Looking through other tips, I read something about windows firewall. I have enabled the recommended entries as well as disabling firewall completely with no results.
Further testing, I can sync mobile favorites if I uncheck all others but still can not sync Contacts. Need a fix!
All,
be also aware of remove hardware, then remove generic serial rejecten.
Regards, John
Windows 7 and Office 2010 can sync with Touch Diamond. First you must setup mail account in Outlook, and it must be default mail client, and then everything can be synchronized. Windows Mobile Device Center is prerequisite 32bit or 64bit version, depending of Windows 7 version
