Recently i Flashed my rom to have the TF3D interface for the HTC Diamond, works fine, except for the landscape view but thats not a major issue. I backed up all of my file fine and everything is ok. when i go to restore my backup all of my emails from previous are still there which is fine, my problem is that they are not associated with an account just yet from my newly flashed rom, also when i do set up a my account (gmail) the device sees the settings from the original emails and will not allow me to save the account as it was before.
Any Help
Try setting up the account BEFORE restoring the backup.
PIM Backup for example doesnt let you restore if there's no account of the same name already setup so you can't get it wrong.
Might be different with whatever backup software you use though.

I backed up with sprite backup using the stock at&t rom, then flashed to l26s new rom and now sprite backup only reloads some of my settings and my damn contacts are gone. Is there a way to manually extract the contacts out of the sB backup file also why does activesync think that i dont have outlook installed The damn window is open right beside it and it still says install outlook any help would be appreciated thanks ahead of time
did you check out the MIGRATION settings in the backup menu under options? you can choose to migrate your settings to another device (it migrates call logs, contacts, calender, tasks and categories...better yet for contacts to never fail and to always be updated is to use an exchange server for your pocket outlook email (i use a free one called mail2web i dont know what id do without it, push email is far superb over pop3)
well that would have worked before i backed up but doesnt help much now. thank u . i dont use email on my phone i just lost a lot of phone numbers. I just need to find a way to get to the phone numbers again. syncing with outloo didnt work because it says outlook isnt installed
I seem to have a problem when restoring email information into the diamond using sprite backup.
This has happened a few times, not sure if its because I'm changing between ROMs.
Anyway, what is happening is that everytime I restore, both my email accounts show in TF3D, but when I try to open the inbox it won't load through WM.
When I go into accounts it does not show the email account also (ISP email account).
The two email accounts I have is hotmail and with my ISP, hotmail one works fine, but the ISP does not.
Any ideas on how to delete the accounts from TF3D??
I have the exact same problem! Everything is still there, every single mail, but the account for my gmail is gone! Can anybody help?
Same problem
Same here. I used Sprite Backup to backup the data on my old TyTN then tried to restore it on the Raphael. On the Mail tab of the TouchFlow the email account is listed (it appears as "PDA - Email" - just as it was named on the TyTN) - but I can not open any message and I can not delete the account either - because it is not listed under "accounts".
SMS messages were restored ok - but the MMS and mail accounts all have the above problem. Any ideas?

I made a full backup with Sprite before I send my device in for repair. Now its back, at least a Diamond, because they switched the device and I restored my backup. But this crappy Sprite didn´t saved all files and so some of my settings and so on are missing. My email accounts too, by in TF3D there are still my 2 set up accounts, if I choose them nothing happens and if I go to admininstrate them it goes to the built in windows mobile configuration and there are no email accounts!
So does anyone has an idea how to get rid of the orphan accounts in Manila?
edit: if I try to create an account with the same name as the old ones he says that it already exists but the list is empty, so maybe it´s not a manila problem but a WM one?! Does anyone know where windows stores that information?
Found a little app thats rapairs lost accounts, worked well!

Wow, I would put it in some sticky thread, and may be somebody knows how to get rid of application list when no application installed, this list appeared when I recover databases by sprite backup
I'm looking for a way, possibly free, to fully backup my phone.
I already use PIM Backup to save my contacs, Messages, and so on (but this is done on a daily basis with ActiveSync too, so this is not critical).
Much more critical is to backup eMail accounts settings (username, password, server addresses, ports, ssl, and so on).
Due to misterious reason (main suspect is Resco Audio Recorder, from now on disinstalled) I lost my account settings twice, and this is really annoying, as I use my phone to check many eMail account regularly so when this kind of crash happens, I have to re-type every single setting...
So, if a way exists to backup account settings, this could be enough. But, as my phone is currently perfectly configured and working, I would like to make a "snapshot" of the phone on the storage card, si I can later fully restore it.
I use a Shifu WM6.5 Rom.
Thanks in advance
Bye

Only with google. You can try with yahoo
So my phone died and is now miraculously working. So now I am backing everything up in case it happens again.
Here's the thing. Google sync never works perfectly for me and the HTC backup doesn't either.
I've tried MyBackup in the past but whenever I used it it would mess up the contacts. It backed them all up but upon restoring each entry of a contact (i.e. home phone, mobile home, notes, etc.) became a new contact with that name. So instead of having one Bob in my contact list I would have six bobs, one with the cell number, another with an email, and so on.
I was wondering what backup apps you guys could recommend that restore the contacts properly. I only care about the contacts. MyBackup works well with SMS and call logs so if need be I can use different apps for different backups and what I need now is a good contact solution.
Thanks
Helium from Clockworkmod. Its the best method of backup for non rooted users IMHO. https://www.clockworkmod.com/carbon
I have never experienced a problem restoring my Google account contacts, I take it you have removed the account and tried to set it up again to see if it will let you save the contacts. You can verify that they are saved if you log onto gmail when using a browser.

Thanks for the suggestion but trying out the free one it backs up apps but the people/contacts app doesn't show up in the list meaning it doesn't do what I need...
