I have an ALPINE which is stuck on "windows mobile" screen

Hi all PDA and HTC lovers.I have an ALPINE which is stuck on "windows mobile" screen. Thats because I was upgrading a new rom but during upgrade connection between my PDA and my PC was interrupted then I got many error messages on screen but it was too late now I cant get my ALPINE into bootloader mode and I only can see "windows mobile" screen when I plugged charger.Is it possible to make it run my alpine again. I would be very pleased if you could help.

Stuck on window mobile screen
I got similar problem on XDA Exec last week and fixed it. I do not know whether the steps will help on you XDA IIi or not.
I was upgrading the XDA Exec to a newer ROM version and keep getting country error code. Whatever I did caused the device to stuck on window mobile screen. I simply put the device into the cradle after reseting it. The screen still shown the window mobile image. I ran the ROM update program again (I think it is MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe). It showed an error but I ran it again withthout taking my device out of the cradle. It run sucessful the second time.
I notice that when the program runs, it close ActiveSync application from your desktop and the device screen turns to black screen with some simple texts on it.

Selcuk, have you solved ur IIi yet? and which Rom were you trying to install? what was the reason of getting the upgrade interupted? I can upload the PUGs rom if you want.

hi my fellow Siddiqui I couldnt solve that problem yet.And I tried to upgrade it again and couldnt manage to do that **** upgade please help me...Do I need to send it to HTC to Dubai? and I dont know how much does it cost ? can u please tell me if u know more about this topic?

which Rom were you trying to install? what was the reason of getting the upgrade interupted/corrupted? I can upload the PUGs rom (as I am using it and its fantastic) if you want with the instructions.

I was trying to upgrade to Alpine_Ext-1.11.162_Radio-1.04_O2stuffstripped_Camera_Fixed
rom but I couldnt. Can you please upload any other which will help me to save my alpine if possible....and I can try PUGs rom thnks so much

Is any one using Hitchhiker on the Kaiser?

I have installed it and it runs but crashes with errors. I tried installing both to device and to storage. I soft reset after install. No help.
I was installing v4b1.
The kasuei site has been down for a long time. I got my copy from modaco.

I haven't tried Hitchhiker on my Kaiser as I had this issue on my Wizard.
I wanted to buy Wificompanion, but it seems that it is not selling as a stand alone software anymore.
Thus, I would also appreciate if anyone knows another soft like these two.

Problems with boot-loop

Okay, so I just recently flashed to Touch-IT 4.4 by itje, and it's been working great. However, I just softreset my phone and now it's stuck in a boot loop just after finishing with the first splash with the text Touch-IT in silver..
It should probably be said that it reboots by itself, which I don 't think is normal for a bricked phone?
So I'm a bit stuck and don't really know what to do; Is my phone bricked (in which case I'll just have to unbrick it, which isn't a problem since there's a certain good guide that explain how to and I've already used it once), or what's wrong with my phone?
Meh, turns out it's possible to flash it with the hacked installer as well.. So I'm just going to reinstall the phone.

I just have one thing to say to all of you guys doing all this work on the ROM of Herald/Wing:

Take out your mSD card while rebooting and your device will start up fine

Is it the card that's doing it? Because I've soft-reset before without problems just fine. <.<
Gaah, I wish I had known that (or waited, but I was in a hurry to get my phone up and running again because I was expecting a call)..

It's not the cards fault. Somewhere here in the forum it was briefly discussed, but I can't find it right now.
It was said, that a certain DLL for SDHC support causes the looping.
It's called something like omap650sdhc.dll or so (you need to find out yourself, should be easy)
and by deleting or renaming it, it should solve the whole problem.
Never tested it myself, but it will not harm your device if you delete/rename that file.

That's the driver for the SD card drive... Depending on the rom you're using, it might be stuck inside the rom so you can't delete the file.
I asked Chikenbull on here to make a program that will rename that Omap file and reboot the device. I haven't tested it yet, but here it is.

I've been doing this for the last month to avoid a HardReset. I've been having the boot-loop problem since i installed the HTChomeCustomizerV80 and/or HTCplus, and read about the warning too late: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=326689
I've since removed the Today plugins, and the only annoyance remaining are the Backlight adjust function not working, and having to remove the microsd everytime I restart/power-on the Wing.
As I said, I'm trying to avoid a Hard Reset because I have 30+ programs installed and it's gonna take me a few days to reinstall all of them. I searched here with no success... all I found are the same saying "remove microSD at boot", which is what I'm doing, but it's a pain.
Tried GAMBIT999's suggestion, but can't remove omap850sdhc.dll from the \windows\ folder. Would DUPRADEE's suggestion of renaming this file with the program solve the restart-loop problem? Or is there other methods I haven't found, that'll save me the trouble of a Hard reset?

omap850sdhc.dll couldn't be deleted, but just changing the extension to omap850sdhc.000 solved the problem!!! Now I can restart without taking out the microSD!!! w00t w00t w00t !!!

Check for errors under Windows
One more possibility I forgot to mention which work fine for me.
After having the boot-loop symptom I took out my mSD card and checked it for errors under Windows.
I let Windows fix the errors and everything worked fine afterwards.
The procedure didn't took long even on a non USB2.0 port.
No card removing or file renaming anymore.
Folks having the boot-loop may try this solution out first before renaming/deleting the DLL.

My problem was SOLVED by simply renaming \Windows\omap850_sdhc.dll
It's funny how if you do not know the cause of the problem, SEARCH is useless. But once you find the answer (thanks Gambit999 and Duprade), going back to Search turns up pages of the same question posted over and over.
Anyways, credit goes to Paul at MoDaCo who found the solution on June 26:

Changing to a blank new SD did nothing... but by Renaming the file, the PPC will reload the uncorrupted file from the ROM.

I have had the same problem.This time after softreset for some Memmaid tweaks.The 1st.time It didnt occur to me to remove sd. and I'm certainly glad this works but heres the prob.After reinserting my 1gb.sd.I now have a file for Storage card & Storage card2.with 2 being the actual card.I cant remove or rename this file and cant launch apps.unless i do so through file explorer.And all progs.on the card are showing inactive generic icons.Any input.I did a hard reset AGAIN.so this would just be for further ref.I'm gettin up the balls to flash for the 1st. time with one of the roms from this site.

touch screen does not work at all

Hello. Yesterday morning when i woke up suddenly my touch screen did not respond any more. I try reinstalling windows or hard reset but now i can not even get over tap the screen.Please help me. You already helped me once when i was going to throw it away because i thought it's a hardware problem and it was a software one.I did the soft reset and leave it for a day then it worked but when i wanted to charge, it happened again and i have the same problem now.Any way a thing it's certain it is a software problem.If you have other advice please help.

I tried installing lots of roms hoping it will be fine. but now i installed a 6.1 version of wm and when i try installing wm 6.5 it stopes in loading screen and the pc gives me an error conection.What about this?

Moved as not ROM Development.
Place a welcome.not file on root of storage card can be a .txt file but change the extension doesn't want to be welcome.not.txt this will get you past all the configs on setup.

Please be more specific

I did as you said and it worked but that was not the problem.The problem is my touch screen not responding.And it's not a hardware problem because if i did as i have been told to fully charge the phone, then do a soft reset and leave it for a day it was as new.But when i try to charge it again i got the same not responding screen. Now after all this i have another issue and that is when i try doing a soft reset the phone resets and it sopped on gray screen with Loading... and the pc gives me error connection. So i get this only i put a 6.1wm. Is this the reason for not letting me change the wm to 6.5 one? i will go crazy with these strange things that are science but have no explanation. Where is the science then? What you did was to allow me to use the phone without touch screen. Well...thank you, but i know there is a way to get the phone normal again and that is what i need you to help me with. Thank you. Catalin

Are you Hard-SPL'd?
Regards problem if software then flashing a different ROM even stock should be able to tell you, i know you think not hardware but if repetitive then maybe you just fluked the being ok again.
Anyway flash another stock ROM, then if fine flash a 6.5, you don't have to use computer as can flash via SD.

So i don't understand why it does not allow me to do anything like hard spl, or flash rom, or anything to install from pc. It connects to active sync and lets me access the card but when i try installing something it stops.

[Q] HardSPL Problem!!!

i've got a problem... i have tried to flash hardspl (bootloader) on my x1 but it doesnt work.
i have tried it like i read in the forum in different threads but i cant enter bootloader and when i start hardspl on my pc and take step by step as the program says... after the progression bar came - my phone display goes black and the front panel starts to shine and after a time i get a connection error on the hardspl program...
can anybody pls help me????

did you take out your micro sd card out of your phone?

Several time ago i got that error too, but i never give up. Try another hardspl for xperia, when u click it, it will auto generate to extract some file, just click romupdate utility and follow the same procedure.
If still got some error, try install it from a fresh computer with usb 2.0 installe and active synch.
You just got that error becouse there is some miss connection with another usb device.

UPDATE: it worked
So I did a hard reset on the phone (settings-> clear storage) and then tried again. Worked like a charm. Installing ROM right now!
