Good day,
I was wondering if i could flash my shift with this rom and the benefits i could have by doing it...
Would it help?
My shift is HardSpLed of course...
IF YOU WANT TO ENDUP WITH A SCRAP/BROKEN/NON WORKING BRICK try it
OFCOURSE YOU CANNOT FLASH ANOTHER DEVICE'S ROM ONTO THE SHIFT.
ROMS ARE MADE FOR THE DEVICE ITSELF.
DO NOT FLASH IT.
BTW THIS WAS A SHIFT ROM DEV QUESTION. BUT NO WORRIES. AND NEXT TIME NO NEED FOR A THREAD.
SORRY FOR CAPS BUT I THINK THIS IS IMPORTANT. SAVE SOMEONES SHIFT.LOL

hi everyone, ill start by saying sorry if this is in the wrong place, but anyway, i am currently using itje touch it rom and i love it, but i saw his touch it leo rom and i like that one better.
My question is if i put on the leo rom do i have to hard spl the phone again?
thanks in advance for the help, and keep up the good work.
p.s sorry for my noobish-ness lol i oinly got my x1 yesterday.
NO, you only have to install hard-spl once.
wow that was sooo quick lol, thanks very much, i thought so i just wanted to make sure, as i read on a different site(cant remember) that you did, but on xda the threads say you dont lol.
again thanks you.
Haha, no it's fine to do it once. The hard-spl will stay on your phone after each flash. spl and rom have nothing to do with each other. So only once!
another question
i have another question. it says in every thread that hard reset after installation.
if i use the PC method (with rom update utility that is) would i need to hard reset as well? also what is the purpose of hard resetting? does it improve the performance ?
I recommend everybody to do one or two hardresets after flashing the rom.
hardreset basically resets your device and starts flashing the rom out of the memory.
regards

hardresets normally removed left-over files from the previosu ROM's after flashing. This should, in theory, provide you with a clean ROM to start with.
Ok here is my problem with the shift. I cannot get into snapview. I mean it not there. I have done the "clear shift" from HTC. Updated the ShagCTL( vista). I have even tried to flash a new rom to the device. No Love. What else can i do to get the WINMO side working again.
When I tried the flash a new rom(Thinking that I had somehow bricked or corrupted the rom) I get to the bootloader and I even see the usb connection in the tri-colored screen. but I cannot get the rom flashed.
BTW .. I have the 9500 CMDA version.. If anybody has any further ideas please let me know.. I would love to use this device but without sound( which I foun out is controlled by the WinMo side) it pretty much useless to me
Help
double check or clarify which shift you have because CDMA is x9000 and GSM is x9500. that should help you to find the correct rom you should be looking for on the forum with seach and trying to flash to your shift
Still no Joy.

You are correct it is the x9000...
in the forum there is a link for the orginal rom I also hjave this but at current do not have any way to upload or make available to you for about 2 months or you can try and MP comex she should have a copy of the orginal CDMA rom as well. also check to be sure that the display brightness is turned up all the way on the mobile side you can also try some of the other tools. last question is how did your snapvue get in the state that it is currently in?
The only thing I can think of is when I did a full restore of the device and it asked if I wanted to overwrite the MBR . I think that is what did it... That is the only thing I can think of.. but at the same time they should be separate at least that was my thought.
they are separate and 1 should not affect the other
Hi guys, after much reading and debating, I think I'm ready to flash my first ROM. Quite nervous as I don't wanna brick but there's one thing I'm not clear on - when flashing a new ROM is it also going to be necessary to flash a new radio or will my stock one still be there working when (and if) I come out the other side?
Cheers,
Richard
anyone? simple yes or no will do!

Yes, your device and your radio will work, if you'll want or need you can flash newer radio also.
im happy with the radio i have, it works perfectly. i wont update unless i need to, the thing i need to know is will i have to definately yes or no. i only ask as ive read the best way to flash a new radio is on a formatted memory card - but i cant find an old card in the house even though i was sure i had a few. but if the radio will definately be there and functional then i shall begin flashing my shiny new energy rom...
thanks for the reply mate

Good luck, I believe you'll like your new ROM
BTW, I always flash my device through USB cable using USPL
success! not as painful as i thought it was going to be. a few issues at the start with the hspl wrapper not recognising the device but that was easily resolved. just booting up after my second hard reset and im ready to start exploring, looking great already. thanks xda and all its wonderful members!
Glad you got this resolved. Now you're gonna be a constant flasher like the rest of us

I just bought a used GSM factory touch pro 2 from a guy. It's been hacked with some sort of rom from XDA.
- Can someone please point me into the right direction to throw back on the stock wm 6.1 or 6.5 with TouchFlo3d.
I know NOTHING about this stuff as you can tell, but am willing to give it a shot to try and boot the stock rom back onto the phone (if that makes any sense).
If it helps. i already have 'co0kie's Home Tab Editor, which I don't know how to use/don't need. and I have total commander already on my phone.
thanks in advance for any help - I really do appreciate it. I've been wanting one of these phones since they came out last year and I just want the stock ROM ( boring, I know.. but I'm not confident enough with this kind of stuff).
Cheers

Everyone has to start somewhere...
read this post: [Resources] Flashing your First GSM Rhodium Rom (For Noobs)
it is a sticky so will be at the top of this forum section.
Since you already have a custom rom and therefore hardSPL you just need to follow step 3. Dont worry about flashing a new radio (step 4) unless you want to.
Thanks mrj
I just found out that I have a SEA version of the phone after blindly luckily stumbling upon the sea version of htc's website for the stock ROM. I can't seem to sync the phone and windows mobile for my pc thought. But I will follow those steps you have laid out for me. Thanks again mrj
Cheers
Try a hard reset on your phone and reinstall the activesync software on the PC, otherwise you can try to flash via SD card (I think) I never actuallly tried it.
I always flash thru via sd card since i am on the go most of the time. You would have to go to HTC to get the stock rom for TP2 but if your looking for roms in specific country then have to check here in XDA or HTC. good luck with the search if you need info we can help
hey guys i have been wanting to hspl my device for a while (see signature(pure). but i have seen that it actually working is very tricky... doesnt always work...
a few weeks ago i talked with a developer about this and he said if you could build your own rom that matches your spl and device perfectly than you dont neeed to modify your device's spl....
perfect for me only looking to flash once... to a 6.5.3...
i had no idea how i should go about doing this until i found this project...
http://ip208-100-42-21.static.xda-developers.com/private.php?do=newpm&u=1915902
using a program called yang...
could i extract only the rom part out of acustom rom and not the spl and fuse it with the official htc original ship rom so i do not have to hspl it????
if i have confused anyone i am sorry or am completely off ... again sorry
however if you have even the slightest of an idea of what im trying to do could you please help me .. and possibly anyone else who might need help
ps. i have flashed many roms on other device for my self and others... always stupidly easy and problem free... like lg incite (took me 10minutes to learn how to flash and to do it and boot up) that thing is a tank ... almost impossible to brick... but it always seems like we run into issues with htc devices and their spl's.... ugh
Check your link as it is invalid.
What you are saying makes sense and could possibly work.
You would just have to find your stock ROM, find a kitchen to decompile it, change some external packages and see if it flashes.
Keep an unaltered copy of your stock ROM in case you need to flash back to it.
