Bluetooth A2DP Streaming Issue on Parrot MK6100 Car Kit - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

I am having a bit of difficulty with my XDA Ignito on O2 in the UK (which is basically a rebranded HTC Diamond), and I am just wanting to know if anyone else has had similar issues.
Using the Touchflo music player interface, the device will connect without a problem, however after the first track ends the bluetooth connection drops as the music player produces an Audiomanager.exe fault. I have to then re-select the music player and it will allow me to play another track but the same thing happens at the end of the track. Interestingly the Windows Media Player does exactly the same thing, dropping the bluetooth connection after one track and producing a wmplayer.exe fault.
I have tried installing a third party music player, Coreplayer with the result that it will play more than one track in a row and does not produce a fault of any kind, however the Parrot remote control does not advance or retard the tracks, or pause or restart the tracks.
I want to try to work out whether the fault lies with the Phone, the Phone software, or the Parrot carkit.
Any help would be much appreciated.

BlueTooth A2DP and switching the screen off

Anyone got it to work? the BT headphones work fine as long as the device is 'switched on', if I switch the screen off it pauses playback, but only with BT headphones, works fine through wired headphones.
Any ideas?
I haven't had that problem at least when listening to music, but I only have headphones at the moment so thats all i use them for.
I am using the Plantronics 590A, and I am able to switch the power on and off from the phone during music playback just fine. The music keeps playing over bluetooth.
Odd then, got some sony BT headphones, and if I turn off the screen, then it stops.
Hmmm, have to have a dig around and see if I can work out what the problem is, what ROM's are you guys running, oh and remember this only effects the BT A2DP headphones, works fine with wired.
What player are you using?
The work around that works for BOTH WMP and AudioManager is to also install Advanced Configuration. Advanced Configuration includes some helpful shortcuts. ONe of these short cuts is callled "Turn off screen." This shortcut will be available in Settings/Buttons, so just assign it to one of your less important buttons (I use PTT Hold). Viola, when you want to shut off the screen, just use the hardware button and both players will continue to play AND over BT.

Just FYI, using a prophet and I have the opposite behaviour, ie it stops if A2DP is disabled.

Having Bluetooth "Handsfree" and A2DP connected at same time causing severe skipping

Having Bluetooth "Handsfree" and A2DP connected at same time causing severe skipping
Hi....I know there are a lot of posts regarding skipping while playing MP3s over A2DP. My problem is perhaps a little bit different because I've narrowed my problem down to the handsfree bluetooth service.
Here's my situation with my unlocked HTC TyTN II using the stock HTC ROM and with no registiry modifications (bitpool, etc)
If I have only A2DP connected and streaming music to an external bluetooth receiver the MP3 playback is flawless. It sounds fantastic. I've tried Windows Media Player, PocketMusic, and PocketPlayer and they all work just great.
However, when I turn on my handsfree headset (which is a separate device from my A2DP receiver) and allow it to connect to my TyTN II, extreme stuttering immediately occurs through the A2DP music stream. When I shut off my handsfree headset the stuttering stops and the music stream returns to its usual fantastic sound. The problem can be replicated also by leaving the handsfree headset powered ON and simply enabling handsfree service on the HTC TyTN II to cause the stuttering to begin. The stuttering stops immediately when handsfree service is subsequently disabled.
Anyone else out their experience this? Any suggestions? For the time being I have to resort to disabling handsfree when streaming music to my A2DP bluetooth receiver.
Skipping/Cutting out/Speeding Up/Slowing down
Not much to add other than 'Me Too!' and thanks for tracking this down since i thought i was going nuts since I've had a couple of times where i thought i had it resolved only for it to crop up again.
Are you also experiencing your A2DP audio speeding up and slowing down along with the audio cutting out? since to me that is the most bizarre of all of the audio freakery going on.
I found my Logitech handsfree less likely to cause cut outs when on than my Jawbone does. but neither were trouble free.
Just an update for those that may experience the same problem as me. I've noticed that sometimes I have perfect audio even though I am connected to my handsfree car system while streaming music via A2DP. So this leads me to believe that bitpool settings and such are not the issue...since the perfect audio can occur with the default settings. I have also heard in other threads that flashing a new radio may help...but haven't gone to that measure yet.
What I have been able to determine is that this horrible skipping/stuttering occurs when my phone is changing cell phone towers.
That is, if
1) Streaming audio over bluetooth via A2DP
AND
2) Tytn II also connected to a handsfree device
then A2DP skips horribly when the phone needs to switch cell towers.
I have confirmed this by using the program PhoneAlarm to log the cell phone towers my phone is connected to. My A2DP stuttering/skipping problem coincides with every change in cell phone tower.
Now having said all this there is still one other factor that plays into it that I haven't quite figured out. If I soft reset my device and then immediately connect to my car and A2DP stereo then I do not get the stuttering problem when changing cell phone towers. However if I spend the day using the device, active-syncing and such at work, then on the drive home I will ALWAYS get the stuttering during every cell phone tower hand-over.
Frustrating. Anyway...hopefully I'll eventually figure out the last piece of the puzzle. I would rather not have to soft reset every time I get in my car just so that I can get good audio.

I do recall getting this behaviour when using Windows Media player...but I have started using the new Pocket Player and have since never experienced the audio slow down problem.
I found a work-around that works for me. It's posted here:

I seem to have related but a different problem with skipping.
I have both Sony and goldlantern BT headphones which i tried (stereo profile).
Both severely skip audio when located on the left side of my belt. Silly but the reception/skipping problems improves a GREAT deal when i move it to the right side. It works flawlessly inside of the building where i have no phone signal but outside -- it skips horribly, even worse after 6.1rom upgrade.
Can anyone confirm that the BT signal going through the body worsens skipping? If so, I assume the signal strength/BT/wireless channel may be at fault, not the tower switching as for me, it happens even when I stay stationary.
Any help is GREATLY APPRECIATED!
TILT - R2 VEGA WM6.1 CE OS 5.2.19209 (Build 19209.1.0.2) ROM
I think part of the problem can be the A2DP device as well. I had a pair ofr HT 820 older bluetooth headsets with A2DP that were skipping and annoying. I went out and bought some s9s and the problem went away. I figured just for a test I would try the HT820 out again, still skipping. So for me it was not the phone but the A2DP device.

i thought that too but i have two different headsets from two different manufacturers, both are skipping the same...
A2DP requires a lot of the bandwidth Bluetooth can provide. Having a 2nd connection open simply exceeds what the Bluetooth chip can handle, no surprise in that. If the BT headset keeps the connection open it's very likely to happen.

what do you mean by a SECOND CONNECTION?
i have 2 different headsets because i thought that i have a poor headset, but both work similarly bad, which makes me think it is the tilt, not the headphones. i do not have 2 connections, never has it and not even sure if it is possible....
Lowering of bitrate did not help at all.....
Anyone have experienced these problems? anyone is using BT headset besides motorola s9?
On mine it does it when it picks up a wi-fi hotspot. When I'm driving the wi-fi is on when the screen is and whenever I pass a hot spot it drops out. Turning the wi-fi off solved it. Don't know if it does it with cell towers.

The thread was initially about skipping when BOTH an A2DP stereo headset AND a BT handsfree were connected at the same time, as the title shows. I was commenting on that.
Other than this, when I want to listen to music I can leave the Kaiser in my room and walk around in my entire flat with the headphones on without skipping (around 10-15m straight line, with some walls).
However, Wifi must not be active and communicating, otherwise either / both of them will drop. If I'm using Wifi and start streaming audio via A2DP, the wifi will slow down a lot and sometimes disconnect. In the same way if Wifi is communicating the audio will skip. If both of them are active but one is idle everything's fine. But that's also normal as both share the same frequencies and will step on each other. When usage is low it's not noticeable but when both are using a lot of bandwidth then they will disturb each other.
The cell radio doesn't seem to cause any problems for me.

Stop/Resume song in pocket?

Perhaps the title isn't the best, but I think this problem might be quite common. Most mobile phones and 99% of mp3-players have the ability to stop the music without taking it out.
With the Kaiser, I always look like an idiot when I take out my Kaiser out of the leather pocket and fight with all the cables just to stop playing music. Also with my headphones, if I press them, I'd expect them to stop/resume when pressed once, play the next song when pressed twice, instead it goes into sound recognition mode when i press the button.
So my question is, is there any:
- way/hack
- accessory
- software
that allows me to stop and resume playing music without taking out the phone?
bump.............................................!
there is wired remote control for htc devices called w100. it has media player and phone controls. i think there is also wireless (bluetooth) remote control availible. search for this under accessories here on xda and on htc's website.
Most A2DP bluetooth headsets will have forward/back buttons that you can configure to do this sort of thing.
thanks!
the kaiser supports the ad2p profile?
Kaiser handles ad2p just fine...grab a bluetooth headset and call it a day (I got a nextlink for about $25 on ebay shipped and am very happy with it and its 10-11 hours of continuous play time)

BT media streaming problems

Hello everyone,
I have a pioneer deh-p980bt car stereo that I've been using with many different phones to listen to music streaming over bt. I haven't been able to get my samsung captivate to connect for media streaming, but it will connect for voice.
Has anyone else had any similar fixes? I've tried many different roms hoping one would fix this problem, but haven't had any success...
Thanks

Andy775, You may have already tried this but i'll just throw it out there. I have paired multiple A2DP BT devices to my phone before and I have gotten them all to work just fine. However, there were a few times when I paired them that audio music did not play through the BT device but only voice calls worked. I realized that my player did not have the correct audio output settings. I am not sure what music player you are using but are you using the stock music player that comes with the captivate?
Using the stock media player, open up the settings menu and make sure it the top row, center icon does not say "Via Bluetooth" while playing the song. Sometimes, the audio does not automatically switch to bluetooth output so you have to manually change it....dont know why. Right now, I am playing music to my BT device and the icon says "Via Phone" which means I can switch the audio output to my phone instead of the BT device (obvious but bleh).
Aside from that, I don't know how else to help you sorry. You could also try erasing the BT profile from the phone and rebinding it as well and see if that fixes the problem. Maybe the audio profile for BT streaming did not sync up correctly to your phone.
I am now using stock ROM with the latest update from AT&T. I have also used Cog's 2.1 ROMs as well and didnt have a problem.

[Q] bluetooth car audio issues

I recently went with an HTC One and while I'm loving the device I've gotten quite spoiled with the car integration of the iphone. My phone is connected via bluetooth to my car audio system. Makes and receives calls fine. Plays out of the "Music" app fine.
But getting beyond that is incredibly annoying. The Music app just wants to play whenever i go to the bluetooth input and getting it to play something else is sometimes impossible. Starting spotify sometimes gets me spotify audio, and sometimes I get stuck in a loop where my car's audio is "paused" and spotify is playing on my phone. I tried to use my phone to stream slingbox audio over bluetooth today and simply couldn't accomplish this, every time i went to bluetooth the music app would start and the slingbox feed would get disconnected. Same behavior with WatchESPN.
On an iphone, the audio is all piped through the same thing and multiple audio feeds can't play, so this would be as simple to fix as double tapping the home screen and going to the airplay like icon and selecting the right output if for some reason it wasn't playing a particular app's audio over bluetooth.
Is there an app or any change I can make that will allow me to control which application is sending the audio over bluetooth? Can I disable the music app just taking over whenever I connect my car? Any other ideas I haven't thought of?
Are you using the car mode system? Go into the car app, go to settings (tap on the bottom middle), and make sure to turn off all the auto-music and such.
No, would I be able to control sling player in that mode?
Similar Issue! Bluetooth works only with Google Music App
I have a similar issue. Bluetooth pairs well with my stereo, and if I use the Google Music App all is great. I get great sound and track information. On all other apps (pandora, spotify, tunein Radio) the app shows that my music is playing but there is no sound coming from the car audio. The strange part is...when I play on Google music, then hit play on Spotify, spotify will play my track for a few seconds before the sound goes away. The track is still playing in the app though. Has anyone else encountered this?

Has definitely happened to me on more than one occasion. I've really only "fixed" it by restarting phone and car and hoping for the best.
iPhone market penetration and awareness has driven ICE integration to the exclusion of other brands.
Lack of similar joined up Android integration is the only thing stopping me going mechless in the car.
Until then, CD.

Yes I've encountered this in my 2011 Sienna. Yep I'm one of those spoiled by how well iOS handled audio through Bluetooth. I haven't tried Spotify, but I did try pandor and tunein and got the exact same results as you, with Google Music being the only player that works. I just transferred some music from my iTunes library and will try playing music through the native music app.
This won't be a dealbreaker for me but man do I miss how seamlessley iOS handled this. At least the steering wheel controls seem to work with Google Music, allowing me to jump to the next track.

So bluetooth streaming works fine for the native music player and I can go back and forth between Google Music and the native player and it streams fine via bluetooth. Still doesn't work with Pandora.

I am experiencing the same. Google music and google play stream perfectly. Maps(Navigation), Spotify, TED, Youtube have no speaker output, car speakers or otherwise.
In the same car I've previously been using a Galaxy S2 with all the above apps streaming via bluetooth just fine.
Anyone any ideas...?
Edit. I've tried everything but looks like this is a known issue with 4.1.2 jellybean. 4.2 update on its way within a month I hear.
Here's the workaround that I discovered in androidforums. I can confirm that it works with my AT&T HTC One and 2011 Sienna:
Launch pandora
Launch Google Play Music
Under Manage apps, select Google Play Music and stop it.
Sometimes Pandora starts streaming at this point.
If not, select Pandora from Running and stop everything under it.
Restart Pandora and it should stream now.
Just got an OTA update but no 4.2 yet. Bluetooth is still broken (unless you use Google music)

I have a 2013 Honda Pilot and whenever I stream music from my HTC One via Bluetooth, it will "pause" the music player. This happens all the time. It might go a few songs before it happens or will pause multiple times during a song.
