Ok, so I'm tired of having to hit the button in the top left to turn the black light on - is there a way to have it so that if you hit an assigned button the light will turn on? I hate when it goes out while I'm on the phone, so I wanted to be able to hit the middle button and turn the light back on. Any suggestions?

Hi
When my HTC remains inactive for 5min or more its programed to go into sleep mode.
to "re-awaken" the phone i have to press the power button on the right side off the phone.
Can I assign the awake button to another button on the front of the phone? The power button is tiny and sunk in and I have to fumble around to turn it on.
The motorola touch phone i was using prior to HTC would reactivate from sleep mode when i touched the screen, Is there a way to get a similar result on the HTC?
Thanks in advance
If I try to set the option in spare parts to make the red button "home, then sleep"...the red button now does nothing. The only option that works is leaving it on sleep.
Does it work for anyone else? Any way to fix it?
I'm running Myn's Warm Donut and the newest of all the files as of about monday.
Have the same issue. Pressing red button once waits for 10-20 seconds then goes home. Next press of red button sends it to sleep. So the feature kinda works, but why it waits 10 seconds instead of just going home?
P.S. Holding back (camera) button for 1-2 seconds goes home too.
The red button option only work in cupcake(1.5)
As the user above said, doesn't work in 1.6.
Hi guys, I just got my new replacement Bell Samsung galaxy S and have gotten things running on it again, but the damn thing keeps going into some weird screen capture.
What happens is that when I hit the "back" button it will go dark and the "menu" button will light up. repeatedly hitting the back button will do nothing, and hitting the menu button will do nothing. Pressing the center "home" button will take a picture of what I have displayed on the screen.
I go and check my running applications and it shows this "screen capture service" running. I stop it and then I continue on what I'm doing and it happens again, going back to the running apps and it is back.
The only way it seems I can use my "back" button is if i hit the "volume" button on the side and then both the "back" and "menu" buttons will light up, and then I have to wait until they both go dark before I can hit the "back" button and have it work. if I hit it will they are lit up it goes back into the screen capture "mode"
The phone came in the mail with I9000UGJL2, firmware 2.2.
Any advice on how to permanently kill that damn screen capture thing would be greatly appreciated because it is driving me nuts. I get a way with maybe 2 "back" button pushes where it works and then it goes into that mode
Same problem...
Samsung Galaxy S i9000 (Facinate)
It seems that by pressing the back button too quickly puts you in the Screen Capture mode...Back button dims but the Menu button stays lit. I found that if I push the Home button that take s the screen shot, then wait for both the Menu and Back button to come on and then lowlight, I can then hit the back button and continue on for a while?
Package name: com.sec.android.app.screencapture
Source: /system/app/ScreenCaptureService.apk
Please, I would like to find out more about this app in order to try and control it. It really slows moving back when you have to wait for the Menu and Back buttons to lowlight before you can hit the back button again!
Just after posting the above, I was able to Force Stop the package and I have not had a problem with the phone going into screen capture mode since.
Woohoo!
My i9100 built-in Screen Capture Service default output is png format. How can I change it to jpeg format?
uhmm... after screen turns off I cannot wake it up using the power button or volume button whatever nothing. tried holding the power button for a loooongggg time nothing I can see green led light flashing had to pull out the battery to restart. Does not happen ALL the time but happens some times.
Turn off "In Pocket Detection"
hello to all,
thanks in advance to all that read and try to help me,
replaced complete screen unit - LCD, touch, and outer glass
after replacing the unit and reassembling the phone the LCD will not come on.
what the phone does do is when i press the power button and only the lights under the home, back and menu buttons light up but go off as soon as i let go the power button. if i keep the power button pressed any longer the lights start to blink. when they start blinking they will go off as soon as i let go the power button if i keep the power button pressed long enough the lights go out on their own. after they do i release the power button and within a few seconds the vibrator cycles one time
i plugged the charger in and the red led light came on and stayed on for a good while then turned to green. i press the power button and only the lights under the home, back and menu buttons light up but go off as soon as i let go the power button. if i keep the power button pressed any longer the lights start to blink. when they start blinking they will go off as soon as i let go the power button.
so this where i am right now. please help if you can and thanks again
