So I'm replacing a friends Compact IV with an HTC Diamond. What is the best way to 'image' the MDA device to then restore it on the Diamond?
Thanks for any help offered.
You mean put a Diamond ROM on the MDA IV??? Wouldn't that cause problems with the hardware buttons? Because T-mobile switched them...
(I'm also interested to put a Diamond ROM on my MDA IV because T-Mobile doesn't update too much...)
Other way around, moving the MDA onto a HTC. Surely they have the same buttons and hardware? Just a different looking back and logo?
On the Diamond the "call" and "end call" buttons are positioned on the bottom and the "home" and "back" buttons are positioned above the "call" and "end call" buttons.
On the MDA IV the "call" and "end call" buttons are positioned above the "home" and "back" buttons.

Just tap "let the debranding begin" in the search box and you'll have all the help you need. Good luck
Erm, once again.... I'm not debranding. I debranded the Compact IV that she has, but now we've ordered a 'proper' HTC Diamond I want to image the first device and flash it onto the new one to save all the reinstalling of software, is this possible?
(I've just thought, most software gets unlocked for a specific device ID and this then wont match will it? Hmm...)

Isn't that weird? Why would they do that? Anyway, I flashed the MDA device with one of Dutty's Diamond ROM's and all the keys work fine...

The best way, as far as I can tell, is to use SPB backup to do a full backup of the phone. Then, install the exact same rom on the diamond that you have on the MDA Compact (read HardSPL thread etc if required). Then restore the backup from SPB backup. The difference in the hardware buttons is not an issue. In fact, I think that is the only way that you are going to be able to sensibly do it.
Okay, thats great, thanks. That was what I was thinking, but I didn't think to put the same ROM on there first. Good idea, thanks.

I am encountering another strange behaviour from time to time (german tmob rom):
After ending a call, the backlight of the device doesnt go on any more. Additionally, the start menu button (soft and hardbutton) isnt working anymore.
I can use HTC home, X-button, phone and so on - but no startmenu or backlight.
Anybody else with this issue?
same prob
good evening,
i have the same problem with my org. tytn II often after Locking the Device "Gerätesperre" with the 1.56.407.3 ROM.
I spoked with HTC, they sad that i will get an callback, but till now nothing happends.
What is the latest ROM Version for the Original HTC TyTN II?
I saw some newer version for the T-Mobile and Vodafone Devices,
but i would like the have the Manufactures Version.

I found out a small workaround:
When holding the red "end call" button for some seconds, the device lock "Gerätesperre" will be activated. Simply do that, turn the device off and on again (no softreset, just sleep mode) and unlock the device. Problem gone.
Of course this is just a workaround... - i could permanetely solve this one by a hardreset.
Hi Everybody,
I've got a MDA Vario III bought back in Dec, didn't had any problems till now. But yesterday my MDA didnt started and when it did, I came up with problematic keys on its face !!!
The Keys for: Making Call, Ending the call, Windows Key and OK key on the face of the handsets, when pressed overrides the function of itself by the function of the key near to it !!!
For e.g. If you press Call button, it will automatically start calling the last number (which shouldn't be the case, it should just open the dial pad!) and on top of that it opens the Contact (which is the Key beside Call button). I've tried formatting the handset twice and I am no way pressing the two buttons at same time !
Please do help me to find where the problem lies and its solution. Its kinda urgent please. Thanks in Advance
Please Help Me Folks
Please Help me folks, what can I do with it to get it working properly ?
try SK Tools I always use autoclean and free-up RAM and that helps me settle this sort of problems. It actualy does the same as a soft reset.
this was the lazy version of the answer
I am trying to use my call button (hard button) to call or open phone app, but all it does is go to the home screen. I have recently installed Diamond Tweak, Diamond 3D Config, and Advanced Config and wonder if this is the issue. Have any advice?
What Hardware do you have? For example the german T-Mobile MDA Vario 4 has the phone buttons switched with home and back. On HTC Raphael home and back are on top, call and hang up below. Maybe this is a problem with your new software and wrong mapped buttons.
It is a HTC Fuze (AKA Raphael or Touch Pro). It has Home and Back on top and Call and End below. Is there a way to remap to do original functions? I tried AEBPlus but it will not let me map Call to do the call function, just other functions.

I have a problem with my T mobile MDA Compact 3 of a goof friend.
I tryed to start updating the Version of Windows mobile, but I´m not able to start the bootloader.
Did I understand right that I just press one of these key combinations? Power-Reset-ok / Power-Reset-Cam /Power-Reset-The key above the volume regulator
If I run these combinations I get always a black screen and not the display with the word "serial".
I hope you can help me with this annoying problem!
I come from Germany, so I hope my small text is responsable
Best regards Alex
Wrong section. You have to post in Artemis. Maybe a mod will move the thread.
Hi everyone, I'm brand new to HTC Raphael so I'm wondering how can I assign other button (volume, home, back key, etc) to wake my phone up instead of the power button cuz' pressing this button too much can cause trouble. I did this stuff quite well for HTC Universal but in this kind of HTC when da phone turns off every buttons are disable except da power one. Thank you.
This works
I found this on another thread
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Keybd]
"DefaultKeyLock"= 0
It was from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=470807
Now i can wake my MDA Vario iv by pressing any button.
Just use a regedit like phm regedit to alter the value. Be very careful to not alter anything but the value above to 0 from 1! Some would say back the registry up incase you make a mistake. I always think this is over the top and you can always hard reset if you really screw up.

here's a simple app from HTC that is on other phones: http://www.fuzemobility.com/wake-up-your-fuze-without-the-power-key/
Thanx guys. I did that perfectly on my phone
