I found this forum, it seems great !
Just ordered today a HTC 3600. I would like to enable the GPS radio
I have read many of the threads posted here, I have some difficulty understand most of the terms. I searched for a glossary or alike in the website with no luck, can anyone give me a quick start?
I know the phone is not SIM locked.
But what is CID and Super CID, how does it affect me?
What is SSPL ?
I ordered the english version, is that WWE?
What is ExtROM ?

One thing at a time mate,
1st starting tomorrow 2/4/2007 you will be able to download a GPS enabled rom from the official HTC europe site (www.htceurope.com) .
2ndWWE stands for World Wide English and its the language your rom is written in ,since your's is English you'l have no problem in installing the GPS rom from HTC and you will have no warranty issues.
3rd SSPL is a program developed by Pof which enables devices to be flashed with a different rom from that which their CID supports.
4th CID is a type of lock which HTC puts on its devices to stop people from changing for instance WWE devices to FRE,English to French.
5th The Sim/Cid lock can be permanently removed by using pofs unlocker but you will lose your warranty .
If i were you i'd either dowload the WWE Gps enabled rom youl find in this link

and run it from my pc after first having charged the PPc battery 100% removed the sim card and synched to my computer using active sync.
Or wait until 2/4/2007 and download the HTC rom from the Htc site both roms are identical,its up to you.

I have just order my Trinity ,and i could pick both english and swedish version ..so i took swedish ,is there any diffrense?

Yes, the English ROM is in English and the Swedish ROM is Swedish.
The first poster asked if the WWE ROM is english. WWE stands for World Wide English, thats why!

It is 2 days now i have put aside my M600 Eten for an HTC P3600.
It cames with french and i want english.
The HTC support site doesn't allow me to dl eng rom and load them.
1/ Where can i dl last p3600 rom eng ?
2/ Is it ok to do that
3/ Is there better rom than original htc rom ?

I found rom but i need confirmation.
On my htc there is a rom fra (french) 1.23.406 at wiki rom dl i found what look the best and safe choice in english, 1.23.405.2 us. Is it ok to flash my p3600 with it ?
I have the same problem I both the HTC P3600 in italian version and when I went to the HTC site they asked the serial# and I can download the update only in italian language, I wish to change in english, I need help.

I have made it !
Go to XDA-Wiki download Rom eng (i have taken RUU_Trinity_HTC_WWE_1_1_.23.405.2_103_6275_1.38.00.11_108_GPS.exe as i guess it is the good one), download also your original rom (in case you need to fall back) plus a small app SSPL-TRIN to trick the device.
It is quit simple but it could not work at first time.
Here it works only at the second time... but it it work

The ROM in WWE gave me error 294 Invalid Vendor ID and the SSPL-TRIN I don't know how to use it, can you tell me how to do that?

I bought a new HTC Touch Pro2 and made the wrong ROM choice. The NL version does not provide English as language. Smartphone can not be changed by the reseller
Is there a way to change NL ROM to EN ROM or add English as a language so I can use English Interface

Not possible ATM. You will have to wait for Hard-SPL to be available.
That will allow you to flash another ROM to your device.
NO problem:
-create a goldcard using QMAT, and put the OFFICIAL HTC ROM on the card in your preferred language; Call this nbh file: RHODIMG.NBH
Now boot into three colored screen (volume down & reset) and your device will be flashed to your desired language.

I have make an update from German to WWE today.
Does it only change the language or replace the complete ROM?

I have downloaded QMAT and have found the Gold card bit but totally flummoxed as to what todo next.
I am english but living in NL and have the same prob with dutch ROM on it.

What is in the Europe ROM?
I dont have a TP2, and im not a cook either so I dont know anything about the ROMs. I have just put all the ROMs I could find in one place for others to use/play with
I've upgraded my device succesfully to the Europe ROM. Does anybody knows, if this ROM includes multiple languages?
If yes? Can I define the desired target language?
I really want to change my TP2 to WWE but first I wanted to download the PTG (portuguese) ROM that I have in my device!
How can I do it? Or should I find it somewhere in the internet?

Flashing the Rom
I've just found out also that once you have your gold card you can use ROMUpdateUtility with RUU_signed.nbh or whatever and it works entirely well!
even though T-Mobile US TP II has not yet released
do you think is it possible to flash TMO_US to CHT?
note: I need to keep band IV support (TMO hardware has band I/IV instead of I/VIII)
So would it be possible to put an english rom on a french pda ?

I bought my TP2 from UK, and I tried to update my device by using the new ARABIC ROM....but it keeps giving me this message:
ERROR [294]: invalid vendor ID
This update utility cannot be used for your PDA phone
you have to unlock first
Ofcourse the arabic ROM will not install on your UK device. You will have to unlock it using the method mentioned in this forum.
The only thing is that you will need a registered version of QMAT which costs around 20 euros

I have followed the VERY helpfull posts in this forum and have sucessfully created a gold card and Flashed the Official WWE rom which is a big improvement over my Malaysian brought Tattoo original ROM however I live in Thailand and would like to have Thai character display and keyboard so I would like to flash a Thai ROM (Tattoo now sells in Thailand) but so far I have been unable to locate one.
If any body can point me to one I would greatly apreciate it - It doesnt have to be Custom I would happily load what is currently sold on Tattoos in Thailand right now.

Thank you RTSP the links you gave look promising but I am unable to find the download link either through the site, via my Phone or via Market place so haven't been able to give it a go. Maybe it does not work with Tattoo despite what the title says.
I have a local Tattoo, and yes, it had the Thai fonts and keyboard software pre-installed (but the user interface is all English)
I am really not sure where you can download the actual ROM image, but I'll keep an eye out

i don't know if i posts this one in the right topic, but i really need to flash my Diamond to the Czech language...
At the moment the Diamond is running the official Dutch rom, but since i got myself the HD2, my collegue wants to take over my old Diamond. The problem is that he is a Czech...
So, i see 2 possibilities...
1) Someone knows a location of a Czech ROM for the Diamond or,
2) Someone can provide me a serial number of a Diamond wich has an official Czech ROM so i can download the most recent release from the HTC site.
Please, could someone help me out with this one?
In either case, the phone is allready HSPL'ed so flashing a new ROM is not a problem.
