Are you sure that your card is not a sdhc card? The card will never work. But if it is a normal sd card you should try to format with fat 16.
I believe all 4gb micro cards are sdhc cards.

Try to use the microSD-adapter of the 2GB card, which worked in that combination, together with the 4GB card.
Don't know, might work, if there is a prob with the adapter.
hey all u guys i wanna clear u that fat(fat16) can address only upto 2 gb so none of ur 4 gb card get formatted as fat16. u need to faormat it using fat32. And himalya's hardware does not support fat32 addressing.
Few months back i hv also purchased a 4gb non sdhc card and a 8gb non sdhc card but none of them work on hima. by diffrent formatting method i hv managed to get 4gb on hima but I was not able to access any file which i hv putted after 2gb of memory so rest 2gb are useless.
and My prophet g4 can access both the cards but most of time i hv to face a lot of card errors and need format the card to avoid them.
Final result
DONT BUY LARGE CAPACITY CARDS UNTIL THEY R SDHC CAUSE FAT16 CANT ADDRESS THEM.

Sorry for this but i m pretty sure that u will report the bugs soon. CAUSE
no body here think that y all memory master company like Sandisk, kingston, transcend etc. do not manufacture the 4gb sd card instead of 4gb sdhc.
AND if someone found any non sdhc card above 2gb from these companies plz ask the retailer for WARRANTY as 3 or 5 years and try to register the card on site. u will know the fact.

Hi guys
Quick question, i want to buy one of these combo SD cards, with the micro sd included.
Is it better to buy a normal 2GB SD card, or is this combo cards just as good?
Im just scared i get less speed, transfer rates etc on the combo card.
I cant find proper reviews. Any thoughts?
Well, I'm using such a card (Kingston 2GB) without any problems. It's just it's comfortable And it's a high-speed card, I can't notice any speed dropoff...

Hi there
I also got a Kingston 2 GB combo at a very good price!
Ill try it out!!
Cheers
I compared the speed of the cheap noname card in my Hima with the fast Sandisk UltraII from my camera, notice no speed difference between these two for running navigation or transferring files through ActiveSync.
In my camera or in my desktop internal card reader however the Sandisk is much faster.
Hi!
I understand that HTC Kaiser (TyTN II) support SD 2.0 standard, which allow it to use microSDHC memory card.
Yesterday, I have found a Kingston 4GB microSDHC memory card at one retailer shop, I want to buy it. So I asked the storekeeper for a test by inserting the 4GB card into TyTN II card slot. The result, TYTN II do not recognize or see the microSDHC card from Kingston at all.
I have read in other forum that TyTN II can use Sandisk or Toshiba microSDHC card up to 4GB without the need of any driver of anything.
So what's the problem? My Kaiser use released ROM (WM6) and it work fine with 2GB microSD, but why it do not work with microSDHC?
Can any friend explain why? and can you help me get my TyTN II to work with 4GM microsSDHC?
Thank for advaice

Same here. And I also have tested the 8GB. Also worked fine.
I own Kingston 4GB microSDHC, works like a charm The problm may be in the card or your device. First of all try inserting the card when device is switched on.
Don't forget, maybe it was a shonky card in the first place?

It may not have been properly pre-formatted either, sometimes the factory format isn't perfect.
I also use 4GB Sandisk card. The only problem is it get's stuck (U can't remove it just by giving it a little push after wich it's supposed to pop out).
In some other thread there is a discussion of this problem and someone recommended "going round the edges with a paper clip" wich I didn't understand. Can someone who has solved the issue give me more details about the solution?
All in all 4GB Sandisk card seems to larger than normal.
I was about to buy a 4gb Kingston Micro SDHC on the weekend, but held off because my Sandosk 2gb isnt even half full.
It was a class 4 which i presume is faster than my Sandisk 2gb.
Im curios to know what the Kaisers actual sustained transfer rates are with the SDHC cards.
Imo, Kaiser will not be able to use full speed of the card even if it was 0.5 class =)) Higher class card only works faster through card-reader, not in the device or through Card Export.
I've also noticed, that my kingston is hard to get back from the device, but i think it is the problem of the slot cover - it really s*cks.

Is your Kingston a SDHC? And did you get a card reader with it?
When i had my HTC P3600i i found that whilst running TomTom6 off my microSD and selecting 6 types of POI it would hang as i beleived it would 'time out' as the data transfer rate was slower than allowed. This was using a Sandisk 1Gb MicroSD in a miniSD adaptor.
Hence why i am genuinely curious to know what is the actual sustained data transfer rate of the Tytn II.
Yes, it is microSDHC (I doubt you find microSD 4Gb large), cardreader was purchased separately. I'm almost sure, that inner kaiser controller will not be able to transfer data to main memory at rates close to the specified in the class description. Though, I also doubt, that you TomTom problem had anything in common with SD data transfer rate. I'm sure you were able to watch video from it (your card), and it is about 1500kbit/sec (HQ) - far more then needed to perform any searching operations. Practically, I've noticed, that copying files through cardreader is about 5 times faster than through CardExport and not sure this was device USB limitation.
After reformatting the 4GB Kingston micro SDHC card, it work OK!
Thank for advise! The shopkeeper thank me a lot, saying that if you don't tell me to format the card, I will never know!

see the third post from this very thread
I'm presently running Toflock WM6 and wanted to install the biggest possible SD card so I can put TT6 UK & Europe plus tons of other stuff without swapping cards.
I was advised in the Hima forum that there were SDHC patches which would enable SDHC. So based on this advice I just bought an Adata 8GB card.
I've tried several patches and nothing works, even the non-HC cards stop working and I have to re-install the Extrom prog to bring it back
So has anyone managed to get a class 6 SHDC card running yet ? If so with what rom etc.
Thanks
i am sorry to tell u this but SDHC is not possible on any Hima YET !!..i released 2 or maybe 3 Patches my self but none of them work...users cant even run 4GB and u bought 8GB..hope its refundable
Okay, I'll just have to keep an eye out for threads about SDHC updates.
In the meantime the Adata 8GB SDHC card will have to serve as a healthy sized flash drive to swap movies / mp3s with friends/family etc.
I've noticed 'non-SDHC' 4gb 50x speed cards on ebay. Has anyone got positive experience of slower speed 4GB cards like this??

r u sure?
how? and what product?
billionton, adata or what??
Yes, i'm sure!
It's a Transcend card
I've got an A-Data 4-Gb, pink stiker (it says: myflash, 150x turbo SD 4gb Adata) and it's working well (sure not at 150x, maybe 1x ). To be fair, I have tryed several ones diferent sizes and the bigger they are slower they work, not only on the PDA but in the PC as well.
Have you testet read/write access to the whole 4gb? As far as I know, you can use these cards, but you have no access beyond 2gb.
4GB CARD
I am working with Transcend 4GB Card and the speed is great , No problem at all.
I also use a Transcend 4GB SD and it works great. You can access the full 4Gb. I watch many tv series in my himalaya with tcpmp.
As I said full access to the 4Gb card. I used to travel with my 100Gb 2,5 USB HD, some times I thinks it's a shame there is no app to get acess to it through a kind o USB cable, wuold you imagine?
I have searched the forum and there are many threads about cards that dont work or have problems. We should have a sticky where members of the forum can post cards that work well, the capacity and make.
For example I recently bought a PNY 2GB SD card which works fine and seems to have good data transfer speed but I read that some people have had success with cards up to 8GB? is this true.

*EDIT*
The BA can not read SHDC cards at this time (there isn't a driver available for the card reader, if it's even capable of doing so), so 4 gig is the limit.
jdc said:
Yes it's true.
If you have WM6 and the SHDC driver installed (just about any cooked WM6 and 6.1 ROM has it), the hermes can use an SDHC card without issues. The SDHC standard has a maximum size of 32 gig.

At this point of time, there is no working solution for the 2s / BA to read SDHC
The largest in size and the fastest SD card to use is the Transcend 4GB 150x

TopRAM also make a 4 gig card that works. My only problems with the card are:
The case started to split after removing the card a few too many times. A bit of 'magic' tape took care of that.
Leaving it as one big file system made reading the card in the file explorer a bit on the slow side. I received better read/write speeds by partitioning the card into a pair of two gig 'cards'.

Hi Guys,
Do you guys able to write to exFat formatted 64GB MicroSD card from Windows7/8? I mounted the card from XZ as a storage and I can see the content of the card but not able to perform any write operations.
Any advise?
Thanks.
I have a rather funny problem tho is that when I copy videos on the card, it wont play on my XZ the first time I insert the card, so I put it back in the card reader in the laptop, played every videos from start, and skip to the last minute, still plays, so no problem with sdcard, that 8gb videos, put back in to phone, and the videos now all plays perfect, wonder why that is.... this is with the 64gb sdxc
also when it doesnt play the video the phone loses the card then mount it back on again, gonna try exFat and see how that goes
result: no problem so far... copied all the backed up from old sdcard on t it, have album on screen while copying and everything pops up very quickly, all videos play perfect, all images perfect, 8gb on it so far, would take a while to fill the card
i bought a samsung 64gb with 70mbps read speed. The newest apparently... not sure if i feel for some marketing trick but whenever i read from sdcard i have never had any lag...
i recommend if you can afford the $70 - $90 price tag
