I think I found a bug in this new rom 6.1 -tested on Australian & SEA (South East Asia) version.
I am using push email and set to turn off the sync when I am in roaming since I am using Australia Hutch 3 network.
However the sync keeps get connected while I am roaming.
Normally this was not happening while I was still using the old WM 6.0 rom, while roaming automatically the sync stopped and resume when it went back to 3 broadband area. This is really annoying because 3 network is charging high roaming price.
In addition there is no 'triangle' icon anymore while I am in roaming.
There is 'roaming' text written on the screen but I think it is more like a label rather than the phone think that is now a roaming network.
May be this is why 'activesync' thinks that the phone is not roaming and keeps get connected.
Back in WM 6.0 the 'triangle' icon was there.
I also use the HTC weather and choose NOT to do download while roaming under option setting BUT the update still went through when I was roaming.
I thought only happen to activesync as I previously mentioned however this roaming issue happen accross all program now.
Definitely this new ROM doesn't understand when the phone is on roaming network. All data still went through. It is a bug that has to be fixed otherwise people will get unexpected high roaming charges.
Anyone got a workaround for this issue please let me know. I really appreciate it. I also would like to know if you have updated your phone to WM6.1 and also experiencing the same issue while roaming. I have tested WM6.1 Australian Hutch 3 version & also tested with South East Asia version. Both are having the same issue. I wonder if this happens accross all WM6.1
FYI, Hutch 3 Australia is using roaming for their GSM network and charges more for data download. Their 3G/ HSDPA only covers inner city/ CBD area and if you commute between GSM & 3G coverage your phone will switch between 'home' and 'roaming' all the time.

it wont work for 3g. att and t-mobile are on separate frequencies that the tilt wont pickup for tmobile's 3g network.
the tilt will only work in 2G.... EDGE and regular GPRS
My phone is not the Tilt it is an HTC branded TYTN II unlocked phone from HTC Hong Kong that I have on T Mobile

what do you mean the tilt will only pick up 2G..att's tilt is a 3g phone..i have one, but i am on t-mobiles service..i had to unlock the phone to do this first...and i can switch back and forth between 3G and tmobiles edge with the diamond commmanger app....ii just cant use att's 3g because i have a tmobile sim in my phone

It doesn't work because it uses different FREQUENCIES.
Look at it this way:
You want to call your friend, he has an htc touch. Let's call him, Lenny.
Then you change your mind, and you want to call your other friend, who also has an htc touch. Her name is Michelle.
If you dial Lenny's phone number, you won't get Michelle just because she has the same phone.
ATT 3g and T-mobile 3g are the same TYPE of network, but they use different frequencies. Just like Lenny and Michelle have the same phone, but different phone numbers.
Make sense now?
The TYTN II and it's Variants were not designed to operate on the frequency that T-mobile 3g operates on.

lets break this down a bit better for him so that he may undertand your post.
"it wont work for 3g. "(That is a period for a very short sentence, and he meams )
It won't work on tmobile 3g.

This one is more straight forward now that you have a better version of the first sentence.
It should go something like this
It won't work on the Tmobile 3g because att and and tmobiles frequencies for 3g are totally different from each other and the tilt doesn't support the tmobile one (as you know it supports the att one), BUT it does support edge and gprs..
Can the radio in the TYTN be changed to the new T Mobile frequency.whats there now is 1900/2100 and needs to be 1700/2100.

Just bought a KAIS120. Will start with the preinstalled HTC rom. Do I need to update the radio for it to work, or work better, on the AT&T network? I wasn't sure if the AT&T radio was only for the KAIS110/KAIS100. Is there anything else I will need to do to get it on the network?

You should be OK -- I've been running one with the stock ROM on the AT&T network for over a year now, and it works just fine, even on 3G data.

Its been a long time since I've been on here & I am loving all the new stuff I am seeing!!
I need a little bit of help...
I am changing Service Carriers from AT&T to nTelos & I DO NOT want to get a new phone. I LOVE my Tilt & have done SO MUCH custom stuff to make it a little bit more me (I mean Hours upon Hours of Downloads, Programs, Custom S2U2 Battery/Weather/Wallpaper fixes). Just the idea of having to do it all over again makes me want to cry. Is there ANY way I can change my current AT&T network setting so that my phone can be use on the nTelos network? nTelos has the PPC-6800 (which is comparable to the AT&T Tilt so I know that the "Phone" shouldn't be a problem since they support PPC phones) so how do I change the current setting to make it w/ the ntelos Network? Any help anyone can give would be MUCH Appreciated! I am DESPERATE!

Is nTelos GSM? or CDMA?
I got my ATT Tilt to work on my Canadian Carrier by calling my customer support....if your new carrier has a WM phone, they should be able to guide you through setting up the stuff so that MMS and internet works over 3G/Edge/Gprs.

PS. to move your apps and docs and some settings (if your switching handsets), try using Sprite Backup
nTelos is a cdma network like verizon or sprint att is gsm you can't use gem phone with cdma i hope it helps
I have an unbranded rhodium running on T-mobile US. I have had it for about 3 months and I can never get the 3g to work. Is there a radio or something I can change? I am currently running the leaked tmobile rom. Also my fn key on the hardware keyboard doesnt work on this rom.It worked on the energy rom but not this one. I've tried searching and cant get any info on it. Does any one have any ideas to these to problems???
I love this rom but wish i had 3g, i know I'm in a 3g area because my husbands behold 2 has 3g here.

Only the T-MobileUSA-branded TP2 will work on T-Mo USA 3G. T-Mo USA uses different 3G bands than anyone else. It's a hardware thing and can't be changed.
