[HELP] Is my Diamond dead? (for advanced users) - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV General

Hello,
Today my Diamond probably died.. in fact it is MDA Compact IV.
I got new battery from ebay (original 1340mah from HTC). I put new battery to MDA but it didn't start. I tried to plug charger, but there is all time such situation:
- d-pad shine twice like during charging,
- one vibra ring
- splash screens
- turn off after about 10 seconds
I change battery with old one but there is the same problem.
I can make Hard Reset, I can enter bootloader mode, but nothing more.
Vibra, splash, reset again and again. If I pull off charger- phone is dead, there is no possibility to switch on.
Does anybody know such problem? Is there any solution? I read somewhere that is probably dead mainboard, is it true?
Please somebody help me, I got my MDA only one week
There was warranty but I installed HardSPL and unofficial ROM, so I can't turn it to service

Does the phone reset when you're in bootloader as well?

No, I can enter bootloader mode.
I have such words on screen:
DIAM200 MFG 64M
SPL-1.40.OliNex
MicroP-Diam (LED) v11
PSOC-Vict STAGE_PVT v0x20
USB.
It stays in bootloader. I can quit bootloader by soft reset. If I pull charger off then Diamond turns off.

you sure no liquid went in? or any falls?
if not - probably a faulty ROM or Radio... what you can try to do is first fully charge your phone (just keep it turned off and attached to charger).
once charged fully (you can tell by the d-pad light) when in bootloader, connect it to USB to your computer. it should change from Serial to USB on your phone. then flash a radio (preferably the one that came stock) via the Custom RUU method.
if that doesn't work... repeat steps above for a ROM...
and make sure u keep your fingers crossed good luck!

Ok, situation for today looks this way:
1. I can't turn the phone ON.
2. If I connect phone to charger or PC phone turns ON. There is one vibra ring and splash screen without numbers in corner (ROM, radio etc). Splash screen in ON for about 10-12 second, then phone is rebooting. It going all around continuously.
3. During displaying splash screen I CAN enter bootloader mode or make hard reset. If I enter to bootloader and plug charger off then phone turns OFF.
In bootloader mode there is such text on display:
DIAM200 MFG 64M
SPL- 1.40. OliNex
MicroP-Diam (LED) v11
pSOC-Vict STAGE_PVT v0x20
USB.
Windows in my PC makes sound as connected UBS equipment, but ActiveSync is not connected (grey).
4. After running bootloader mode I CAN run DiamondCustomRUU.exe. It looks like updates, ROM, Radios are installed- indicator is running in my PC and also on Diamond screen. After finishing installation there is again: reset, vibra, splash screen 10-12 second, reset, vibra... etc.
I tried to install many ROM, Radios and all SPL but final is always the same.
5. I tried to install original SPL- installation looks successful, but after reset in bootloader mode there is still: SPL- 1.40. OliNex. This point is most strange for me.
6. I can connect via mtty (but activesync is still gray), but I don't know commands for mtty and I don't know what more can I do through mtty.
For me right now most important is to turn SPL back- then I can return device to service.
Does anybody knows some solutions? I'm opened for any suggestions...
Thanks,

go and stay in boot loader mode (tri-stripe colored bands) and flash with custom ruu another rom, have you tried this simple step?
EDIT: sorry I read right now you tried, so bad, so unlucky!

Seems like the battery contacts on Ur device are faulty - The gold plating might have worn out and the contact with battery terminals is bad, so device registers critical battery and shuts off.
Try cleaning the contacts with a piece cotton or a soft cloth soaked in alcohol on all the contacts. (avoid too much - should not enter the device!!)

Could you try charging your battery without phone?

Issue Closed: Need help after upgrding Cing 8125 to AKU2.3

I have one of the early Cingular 8125s with version 1.08 IPL/SPL and was trying to upgrade using summiter's latest 2.3 using his multi installer +CF2.
Pre-upgrade phone info
SPL: 1.08
IPL: 1.08
ROM 1.8.xxx (Can't remember the rest)
CID unlocked using lokiwiz (Done again just before upgrading)
SIM unlocked using lokiwiz (Done only when I first got the phone)
I originally selected the first option in the installer, which would have also upgraded my bootloader. This ended up just getting me into the RGB bootloader screen and failing, after which I would just remove the battery and reset.
I selected option 2 to update without changing the BL, and the installation seemed to run fine...until I tried to turn it on again after the flash.
Booting past the first cingular splash screen took longer than normal. Although it showed the 2.24 OS, I did not see any line stated the GSM version, only IPL, SPL and OS. Is that bad?
When I got into windows it was super slow and navigating was a chore. I rebooted, and the phone didn't turn back on! Read the forums a bit, I guess it can suck up more juice than expected during flashing, so I charged for a few hours....now I can boot up, but with the below issues.
1. I don't have a phone connection. Even in the new comm manager, I click on the phone setting, but it doesn't connect. The antenna up at the top has an exclamation point instead of the bars next to it. I can't get to the keypad screen, and I can't make any phone calls. Did the GSM upgrade possibly not complete? Is is supposed to show up in the splash screen?
2. I can't sync anymore. Nothing happens when I plug the phone in. I am not even sure it draws a charge, since I had it charging over usb for a few hours after upgrading and it didn't seem to charge much. AC power for a few hours did the trick and let me boot up.
3. Since I can't call anyone, its basically a PDA for now. But even the PDA function and general operation of the phone are really really slow. It takes time to drop down the start menu, or change screens. (~30 seconds to push "start") I am able to input personal info and it saves OK even after soft reboot. I have since cleared all info.
4. The battery indicator constantly shows the charging icon, even when unplugged. Battery status shows "Unknown." Phone doesn't know how to turn off after idle time, even though option is checked in settings.
I'm hoping someone here has some advice. Since I can't connect through activesync, it will be hard to make any upgrades. I had read about an miniSD card executable...hopefully that applies here.
Should I try booting into the Bootloader and connecting a USB cable? Holding the camera button and powering on doesn't seem to help.
Anyway, any input would be greatly appreciated guys. If there's any info I need to clarify, let me know.
New progress made
I am able to boot into the boot loader and when I connect by USB, it shows as connected in XP. Can I perform upgrades/downgrades from here?
Any suggestions as to the right path to take to end up with the latest ROM? Maybe I should stick with the Cingular release?
Good news everyone! (lame futurama reference)
I managed to install the cingular formal release once I booted into the bootloader.
In case anyone has this same problem, you hold the camera button down and press the power button. Let go of the power button and the RGB bootloader screen should show up. When connected to USB, you can install these packages.
When I'm gutsy enough again, I'll try summiters latest.

Which Windows are you using ? if you are at WinVista it won't work, always use WinXP,secondly do the following :-
1. Disconnect your phone from the usb cable, shut down any firewall, disable any Anti virus,Reboot your PC.
2. On your Desktop PC, open Microsoft ActiveSync, then go to File >Connection Settings >Remove the Selection from “Allow USB Connection with this desktop computer”
3. On your PC Open windows Task Manager...>Tab Processes...>wescomm.exe...>End process
4. Power off the phone completely (Not stand-by,shut off completely),or you may take the battery out for few seconds
5. Make sure your phone is not Connected to the PC via USB cable and remove the dummy Sdcard or mini-Sd card
6. Get your phone into Bootloader mode (Multicolor screen) by pressing camera button + Power on button
7. Reconnect your phone to the Desktop PC using the USB Cradle and the Charger MUST be Connected to the Cradle (Be sure that your battery is charged over 70%)
8. "USB"will appear on the bottom of the screen of the Bootloader (Multicolor screen)
9. Run the Upgrade again and it will work fine without any problems.
10.Never use Bluetooth sync for the Upgrade
While upgrading, the ActiveSync program will not go on, however the upgrade is running. Please be patient when you're flashing your device, even if 98%. It can wait a little bit, 5 ~ 7 minutes.
Don't cancell the flash or get the phone off the usb cable till it confirms "Congratulations" or stops with an Error!!!
Hope it'll work,
Cheers
i dont have a cradle just the usb cable. will tha be a problem?
i tried it with just the usb cable and it didnt work
any other suggestions?
it is time to junk it or donate to XDA-developers
...fades to white screen upon connection
I have a similar issue...my 8125 Wizard gets stuck on the splash screen. I follow the above procedure to the letter, get into Bootloader, make the USB connection, and then when I try to flash ANY ROM as it starts to connect the screen fades to white and it comes back with Error 274...Connection error! It doesn't matter what ROM I try...Button's 1.05, Love ROM, T-mobile 2.26, or the Cingular 2.25 ROM...the screen fades to white as it starts to connect. Any ideas Doc P?
The splash screen says:
IPL 2.25
SPL 2.25
GSM 2.25.11
OS 2.25.11.1
BTW, i've tried the MTTY_updateROM.exe ...miniSD card ...r2sd all approach ...the device is CID locked...

Mda won't sync or charge after bad flash

I was following the guide for putting the button rom, and then the loki. all that went ok. The problem was I replaced the nbk file of the ipl/spl 3.08 file with the one from a radio download (radio 27111) and when it flashed now the phone doesn't recognize anything plugged into the usb port. Won't charge or nothing. no lights come on . I tried holding the camera and power button, and then pressiong the reset button, taking both hands off the buttons and then pressing power again and holding it to get in the bootloader multicolor screen, and it doesn't recognzie it either on my pc there. any suggestions?
it still loads the buttons flash rom and goes to the phone itself (old stock windows mobile) and pressing the start button takes like 15 secs to show the drop down start menu.
oh also it still says ipl 1.08 and spl 1.08 in the buttons splash pic....
although i was trying to put that 3.xx one
if anyone has:
tmobile RUU_Prodigy_1081002_108_10910_TMO_US.exe
please send me or give me a link. I tried googling but they all lead to the ftp server here (as we know has no files now on it). Someone said that worked for them. I tried another tmobile official one and it doesn't work. In boot loader (the multicolor screen) when i connect the usb the word usb shows, but the rom program on xp doesn't see it and I get an error 260 update error which says it can't connect to my phone.
Update: I tried the newest official tmobile software from their site and it does nothing. It does show the "usb" at the bottom in bootloader when I connect it, but the tmobile software (or anything) doesn't recognize it and gives a error 260.
When in windows (as it still goes) it shows the unknown battery thing and doesn't show how much battery life is there, along with being real slow. I didn't have a sim card in it ever while doing this but prob has no service either.
eh
50 views and im the only one with that problem ever? no one knows?
correction. it DOES charge.

no luck yet.
Hello,
Let`s start... maybe this will help you too guys... But first of all i want to know if your phone`s go in bootloader mode... ( just reset with the stylus and then hold just the camera button) and then it goes in the 3 color screen...
Let me know if you`ve got your phone`s in bootloader mode.... Replay as soon as posible... and... did you`ve tried another USB cable?
If you want to charge the phone, get the battery out, put it back, put the charger in, then hold the power button until it starts chargeing... 10-15 seconds max.
And if you get the phone in bootloader mode do this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4104858&postcount=3
Regards.

[Q] New X1 user with a problem.

Recently I have bought a used X1. One day, when the battery died, after charging it, a screen with 4 colour bars appeared (red, green, blue and white). There are also some signs on the screen:
KOVS110
SPL-0.72.01iNex
MicroP1-787
MicroP2-707.
On the bottom on the screen it says "Serial".
I cannot pass through this screen to get to use my phone as always. I tried to google this on the net but found some unrelated ROM-topics that didn't help me anyway, as I'm green as grass in these things.
Any ideas what to do? Thanks in advance for your help.
This might help. Disconnect the USB cable, remove the battery, then replace it and turn on the phone. As long as there is no problem, it should boot normally. But, the phone doesn't go into boot loader on it's own usually.
Well, that didn't help. Btw, what did you mean: "disconnect usb cable"? My phone wasn't in any way connected to a PC.
have you tried a hardreset?

[Q] Need Help, My Diamond doesn't boot properly

Hi, I'm new to XDA Dveloper. sorry if its already questioned..I don't have time to search for them, I'm running my laptop on battery that only will last about 15 minutes..and I have my electricity out..
Yesterday, I got My diamond exposed to water...it was raining hard and I was on my bike with my diamond in my pocket..
when I got home, my diamond begin to act strangely, it keeps lower its volume(to vibrate state) when I try to press the increase volume rocker, it goes back down to vibrate. but I manage to shut it down with slide2shutdown...and charge it (the battery only 7% left). this morning I get up and switch on the diamond, but It doesn't boot like usual(theTOUCHDiamond sceen)...
it only shows 4 bars (RED, GREEN, BLUE, and WHITE)consist of:
RED BAR with this:
DIAM100 64M
SPL-1.37.Olinex
MicroP-Diam (LED) v11
GREEN Bar with:
PSOC-Diam Stage_PVT v0x30
BLUE Bar : blank
WHITE Bar with
Serial (only "serial is written, nothing more)
That all, and when I try to connect with USB cable, it demands Qualcomm CDMA Drivers...(I use My friend's laptop....no activesync installed)
anyhelp would be appreciated.
thanks

what are you trying to hardreset device..??
A hard reset should only be performed if a normal reset does not solve a system
problem. After a hard reset, the device is restored to its default settings—
the way it was when you first purchased it and turned it on. Any programs you installed, data you entered, and settings you customized on your device will be lost. Only Windows Mobile® software and other pre-installed programs will remain.
Try flashing back to stock rom?
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
Hi!
I have a boot problem also.
I used Memo ROM about 1 month ago. That was worked well still today. I restarted my Diamond today, it was not boot correctly. Only reboot the phone after showing the ROM information. I made hard reset and put back the rom again, but the phone is not boot properly.
Could to help somebody for me?
I solved the problem.
I downloaded the original rom (included with radio rom) from htc.com.
I put the phone to bootloader mode and flashed this original ROM.
After flashing finished, my diamond boot to WM6.1.
I don't know what was the problem, but it works again...
I hope never happening this again!
