Hi,
I am wanting a very simple custom rom but I am not sure how to "cook" one.
I've read the tutorials, etc.. but I'm still very confused.
I will try to get a hang of it, so I can make a truly customied Rom, but in a mean while can someone be kind enough to make me a basic custom ROM?
All I need/want is a UK ROM (or any english based rom) with Korean fonts, Korean Keyboard, Korean Thumb keyboard, Powerdic (All theses are pre-included in SKTELCOM ROM).
Korean Thumb Keyboard is like the one in HTC devices where you can type letters with onscreen number pad (I believe it's called "SKY II" in the Korean ROM)
Basically, I need an English ROM with full Korean Support. (powerdic is a dictionary program included in Korean ROM)
I could install softwares to my X1 with English ROM to get a similar result, and I tried but the result wasn't perfect - I was not able to read at some conditions and not able to write sometimes as well)
Can anyone PLEASE be kind enough to make one for me?
I hope it won't take that long..
Thanks for looking.
no one will do it for free. you should consider giving some incentives, otherwise everyones' gonna ignore you

for this you have my kitchen
just use it

If I get a chance later I will
But I can't promise anything, it'll depend on how my time pans out.
You should try to cook it yourself? Maybe instead, ask for like a "How To Cook Basic Rom" guide or something. Just like being able to take someones rom and maybe tweak it a bit to your own liking? Less hassle for them and puts more control into your own hands.

Thanks for the reply.
I've actually read some tutorials and guides but could not fully understand.
So, I went one to try something, and I wasn't going anywhere.
First of all, I didn't know what folders had what, and did not configure how to mix components.

Thanks a lot!
I'll try to figure something out in a mean while..
Hope I can find some who did something similar already..
Most audience in here are English user. For this kind of language specific request, normally you should look for forums in yr language community. I am not sure about Korean, but I know there's a lot of those forums for Chinese and Russian (in fact, many of them are really hard-core hacker).
The reason I need help from ENG speaking people is that I live in Canada and I use my phone in this country.
Sadly, Korea uses a bit different structure for mobile phones and there are a few things that work differently - for example, SMS feature is a lot different.
Since I am a Korean-Canadian, I use Korean language as well.
Only thing I need is Korean language input/output, and possibly ABC tabs in contact list converted in Korean Language - I think I can find a way for this by modifying some registries.
If someone can at least make Packages from SKTELCOM ROM, then I guess I can finish the rest.
I tried extracting and got stuck in making them into packages..
Plus, I don't know where the language related files are usually located from the extracted stuff..

Well I've just cooked you one, in fact two, but it's not booting. I'll try again tomorrow.
If you use evrius ultilanguage GUI rom kitchen, it'll extract the rom from nbh and make it into packages, it's all pretty easy to do. Then do the same with the UK (or NA) one and combine, but it's not happened with me tonight.
Language files are all those in 412 folders.
WOW, Thanks so much for trying that for me.
I will also try to make something out of it with the info you gave me.
Thanks

hi fards, just curious if you might have been successful in the cooked rom dahanist was looking for. I'm in the same situation, except I live in korea and cant really take advantage of the phone with a full korean OS, so i want to install an English OS but keep all the korean compatibility for sms, input, etc. Figured this might do the trick. Any luck yet?
By the way, there's a seperate thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=500446) where several people in my position are willing to pay money for a good cooked English ROM with korean language support, how's that for incentive?
got it

Mind if I ask what your answer is? Theres some custom English ROMs posted on another post here. I'd be curious to know what else you may have found though otherwise.

Hello everyone. As you can probably tell I am new to this forum. I recently bought my first PPC (Tilt) and I am thoroughly happy with my device (thus far). Seeing how I am new to this genre of phones. I decided to surf the internet to see what kind of info was available for my new toy. To make a long story short, after I surfing the internet and visiting many different forums. I noticed the XDA or XDA developers being used frequently. So I decided to do a Google search which directed me here. I must admit I am thoroughly impressed by this forum (website) and plan to be a contributing member. I have learned so much about the capabilities of my phone. You guys are really amazing. Which leads me to my problem? I am having a difficult time understanding the verbiage being used to describe the various different upgrade features being discuss on this board. All That being said I have some question I would like to ask. But first I have decided to condense my questions on one thread as to make it easier for other interested parties as well as for me to find. However feel free to direct my question or to add a link that can answer my question at your convenience as I know many (if not all) these question have been answered in other threads (sorry remember I am unfamiliar with all these new words).
1)Is there some sort of getting started manual that I can used to better understand the various different words being used on this forum?
What does flash, cooking, roms, etc mean?
2) I would like to get rid of all the ATT stuff (for a lack of a better word) that on my phone and upload all the high speed HTC stuff.
I would like to do this in hopes of increasing performance as well as to have all the programs and features that where meant for the TYTN 2. If one could list the steps or refer me to the link that could do this it would be greatly appreciated.
3)How does a person find out about the various different applications or program that are available for my phone?
This would be of great interest to me. In particularly when it comes to music and radio stations. What is the best music/media player available? What is the best program to listen to various radio stations? And what site can I use to research this stuff?
4) Lastly I am really interested in all this voip stuff (Skyp, Google talk, etc). It would be pretty cool to use the internet to make phone calls instead of paying for daytime minutes. How would one go about doing this? Am I to understand that I can used my phone exactly the same way but through the internet?
I wanted to take the time to thank those who answered my question (and those that didn’t) as well as to developer of this board.
Thank you
Bulldog1
i think if you spend some time looking through these forums you'll be able to extrapolate many of these answers.
i'm not trying to be a jerk but your questions are kind of extensive and mostly answered with a bit of digging.
sorry.

No manual - you learn from osmosis.
I am pretty new around here as well... but a long time lurker...
So - to help as much as possible - here is a quick answer to your questions:
Flashing is when you overwrite / rewrite the firmware. It is the method used to put different ROMs on your device.
Cooking is where you create a custom ROM image - so it comes customized with whatever the chef puts on it.
ROM - think of it as an operating system image that is transfered from your computer to your device.

This site is chalk full of information about these kinds of things: Kaiser is pretty new - so hit one of the other forums under XDA. Software sitting on top of the OS should be pretty standard... ;-)

Kinda. But not as well. Data connections are more prone to dropping than voice calls.
It is cheaper to call internationally though... ;-)
So if you have a good connection and you aren't moving... it is a great alternative.

yeah, a glossary of terms would be great. as I read more it makes more sense and I find myself searching some of the terms online. be nice to have somewhere with meanings of WWE, SPL etc mean.
Welcome to the board. I would recomend reading all the wiki's that are stuck in each section and also the search button will bring many many threads on all the questions you have asked. Try this one to get you started. http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Kaiser Good luck

I'm in the same boat as you. I read through the posts here and found them really helpful, especially the stickied ones about flashing ROMs.
The best way to get rid of the AT&T stuff is to flash your ROM. Flashing your rom to the HTC-rom will wipe the AT&T bundled software and replace it with the set that comes with the TyTn II (although no TomTom).
I've been trying to find answers to some of your questions too (especially where to find good software and media players), so I'm looking forward to replies from the older members.

Welcome to the forum, i am also new. As to your question of what is the best media player, it is TCMP, it plays almost everything (even .flv files!) but support has been discontinued because the ppl made it a commercial product...mind you very tech savy ppl are still continuing support for it and adding codecs and stuff.
to download it and some codects, go to this website:
http://www.4winmobile.com/forums/ht...cial-hybrid-media-player-all-codecs-here.html
Hope that helped
Thank you. I can understand that some question may too broad to answer in this thread. I understand that alot of my question are answered in other threads and for this I appologies.
The the reason I ask those question is becuase I do not understand the language being used. I have read (reread) the stinky under the kaiser upgrades tabs but still do not understand what exactly it is saying (or what it is supposed to do).
While I agree most of my other questions can be answered in other threads it would be of great help to me if someone could explain in greater detail to me my question number 2 which I have reprinted below.

You guys are great, I can see a sprite of sharing and helping in this forum. Again, you guys are the best, especially thanks to Daniel.
I bought a Chinese unlocked version Kaiser in Hong Kong, and I found out that it is not that convenience to me even though I can read Chinese. With Chinese Windows, it runs very slow. I decided to flash the ROM with HTC standard English ROM.
However, because of warranty issue, I need to backup the Chinese OS ROM, and restore it to its original setting if in case I have to take it back to HTC for repairing.
I am totally new to PPC or WM devices (I used to be a Palm lover), I wonder if anyone of you can tell me how to "Backup" and "Restore" the ROM. Detail instructions will be highly appreciated.
Sorry for my stupid questions, but I really don't know how. Whether I get the instructions or not, YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!!!!!!!!!
If you were previously using the HTC or AT&T rom then i highly suggest you upgrade to Dutty's rom.
1. its faster.
2. way better battery life.
3. tabbed task manager at the top
4. more free rom and ram.
5. better design.
6. more i cant think of, try it! its great!
does it still have the colored touch flo icons?

Does this new Rom also includes the Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 3.5 RTM?
look closer at the posts of his roms...they do have lite versions.

o but he does, his "lite" roms, i dont like them, i installed one on accident and there was basicly nothing on it. its extremely basic, i ment to install his touchFlo rom, so im downloading it now.
i dont think .NET 3.5 is already on, but its avaible right there on the topic.
I prefer Lite Roms because I can control better what to install, update and remove. I'm using his lite rom no. 6 and its awesome.
palm sms needed with mms control bad or palms sms that controls your entire sms through htc home etc

i thought that too, but this rom was soo "lite" that there was nothing unique about it. i mean it was really no different than installing a lite HTC rom.
How does one upgrade the ROM? Is it just a transfer like a cab and then installation in the device, or is it more complicated? Some instructions on how to do that would be very useful. Can you point out where to find them? If it all fails and one needs to go back, would a Sprite restore bring back the previous ROM? Are there any incompatibilities with pre-installed programs? The ftp site lists three different Hybrid TouchFlo programs. How do they differ? Which one is the best recommended?

Well actually there's virtually no apps installed, not even the HTC ones. That means that I can install the ones I want. When there's an update, I feel that I can "properly" remove the old ones and install the new ones. They also come with some tweaks already included, and .NET 3.5.
So it feels like a "base pumped" ROM which I can fully customize.
Please give us some instructions on how you install a new ROM.

yes i agree. its just that when i was saying his rom is unique, i think there's some pretty cool things on there, but im not sure what they are. like, i wouldnt know what to search for or what cab to install. so installing the lite rom i wouldnt even get those cool things.
however, if you want this rom not for the cool things he has, but for a blank rom, then the lite rom is the rom to get.

If you are a very experienced user you may want a Lite ROM.
However, I found the fully loaded ROM has many advantages.
1. You may have some very useful softwares that you may not even aware they exist. So you will never look for those to put into the Lite ROM in the first place.
2. You will learn to use more applications and figure out good and bad ones first hand.
3. In the Lite version, you'll always find that the software that you need for the moment hasn't gotten installed even you have it in your download library. You'll miss the time and being agonized. As time goes time, you've accumulated all the right softwares in your custom machine, it is time to replace the machine with a new one. The current one just have never reach it full potential.
Kaiser has plenty memory space, a few extra softwares are not to kill it not like TOUCH which really just got a pretty face and no guts.
I recommend fully loaded ROM for casual users. Extra softwares do not increase weight of the machine provided the extra softwares do not cause stability issue. Stability usually caused by bad software. One lousy one can do it.
For example, I won't mind if I can get a 32G SD card and people loaded all the games and MP3 and Video for me.

Yeah, that's exactly why I haven't tried to reflash my tilt - The "directions" in that post are so unclear and incomplete...
Someone who can write needs to create a step by step guide - no unexplained acronyms, a complete list of everything that is needed, and maybe a little explanation about why you have to do some of the steps.
I would happily write a post with this info, except that the directions for flashing are so bad that I can't understand how to do it.
Answer some basic questions, like, "can you flash an OS with no Radio - can you flash a radio with no OS?"
When you refer to downloading a ROM - Does that mean to the PC or to the device? OK, I've entered bootloader mode - now what? What's the next step? When I DL the ROM to the device, where should it be stored? What makes up a ROM? Is it one file or a bunch of files?
These are just some of the basic details that should be in a set of directions for flashing.
The HardSPL directions that are built into the install are pretty good - they step the user through every little detail. We need that for "flashing", because based on the information on this forum, it's not inherently obvious how to do it.

Jeff

First of all, please stop being so demanding when you are in the situation of asking for help. Nobody here has obligation to teach you what you need to do to YOUR phone. They don't get paid to do that. I would suggest you to head to tytn/Hermes' wiki page to learn more before you try on your phone http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Hermes
Tilt or tytn II are still fairly new device on the market. Since tytn and tytn II are similar in many ways, you can use hermes/tytn's wiki for reference. Many of us, myself included, learn the process of flashing, upgrading, downgrading, and modifying through countless experiments or through other members here. I'd say - flash your phone with hardSPL first, then you are safe to do the rest if you can follow the directions. Once again, I am not trying to discourage you to ask for help, but please do respect others and their works. They have contributed a lot of time to make this forum the best and make our phones even better.

I do not want to go offtopic, but you are waaaay out of line.
Ive been using online forums for 12 years now and have gotten to where I am because of nice, hardworking and helpful individuals.
Its Karma, in the end if you (people) help trick420 and I learn to flash our roms, they will benefit one day when they visit photography forums or want to travel to Northern Italy because I have posted very thorough articles and guides to Digital SLR Cameras and Lenses and travelling to places ive been.
His suggestions will in fact make this site better because it will allow others like him and me to learn and then eventually contribute to the forum. I personally am not a professional at WinMobile and have done my homework (read the wiki, googled terms, acronyms, procedures and so on) but have not really grasped the idea of flashing roms.
trick420 was not being demanding, you need to cool down.

Point taken, but my post was a comment, not a request for help, and was not demanding, just an observation. I'm just stating what, in my opinion, is wrong with the instructions posted so far. They lack so much information that a noob simply cannot figure out what to do at times.
A noob is just that - a noobie... How can you expect them to know that a Tytn is similar enough to a Tytn II that the same things apply? How would they know that?
The thread that Dutty refers everyone to that is a "noob" is now 11 pages long. The worst part of it is, the instructions on the first few posts don't even apply to Dutty's ROMs now because he's building them as an executable file (Great idea by the way), which makes me think he's simplified it to the point that you don't need to read the "flashing" ROM.
My point is this - if I'm a noob and I want to learn how to flash, I have to dig through 11 pages of a stickied post that is a year old just to figure out one step of the process. It takes way too much work to figure it all out, and then you'd better make sure that you don't forget something along the way.
Flashing a ROM should be a process to be learned by a noob, not a journey of discovery like it is now.
The wiki or sticky for flashing should be redone for clarity. For me, the flashing process is like a combination of a heavily fragmented hard drive and trying to find a windows registry key without the use of a search function.
Again, I'm not complaining just for the sake of complaining. If someone wants to send me a detailed process for flashing via PM or email for the Kaiser, I'll write it into a document that the average semi-technical noob can use. But until I figure all of this out I can't help. I'm a hardware and software engineer by trade, and I know as well as anyone that the one thing a programmer hates to do is to have to document a project or write a spec. I'm offering to do that if you programmers will support my questions and help me craft a good, readable document for the masses.
Regards,
Jeff

Me too, ill help write out the guide on a beginner to intermediate level.
Hi Guys,
Been on the forums for a while now since getting my X1. Like most X1 users I am eagerly awaiting the next exciting cooked rom to be released.
There a lot of clever guys on here (itje...jackleung...Daren...Bxsteez...the list goes on...) and credit to them all for what they do Top Guys!
Just a thought... but wouldnt it make more sense for all the Rom cooking guys to get together and maybe work on a few 'ultimate roms'. Maybe even just seperate cabs that work with a particular rom?
Maybe its forbidden taboo? and its something that ya just dont do... But I'd just thought I'd ask if its a possibility?
Just seems that all the guys are working so hard to all end up doing the same thing! where as if if they where all working together...the end results may just be awesome....
I'll apologise now if a topic like this has already been mentioned (I didnt see one).
Once again, Credits to the Cookers out there. I wish I had your knowledge
Kind Regards,
King
Long Live the X1....lol
many cooks do work together, perhaps not visible, but through pm and other media.
But releasing roms that we all cook on would take alot of coordination..
all cant cook in the same kitchen, that could get messy .
Its not that we dont want to, its just not practical. And adding to that we are like all other artists..we like to be special...hahahahah
seriously...duh...ehhhh...damn those beers...haha
perfectly suitable adjective for this
Too many cooks spoil the broth..
Isn't it better to have a menu with different tastes on it?

i couldnt agree more...
and like itje, we are a special, but in what we like to have in a ROM.
I'm gonna have to agree with itje. I couldn't have made any of my roms without the help of itje's kitchen and everyone's help across the forum.
Although i think there might be something there.. All get together and make base rom nothing special nothing unique just the best xperia lite rom we could make and then kinda branch off from there... Might be kinda impratical for us to be able to get that done. I dunno. I must say it does make me think...
Hey guys,
I understand what ya saying. Thanks for listening anyway. Keep up the good work. Your a credit to us all... Including the moderators.... and yes your all Special! Am special too... in ward 10. I have nice white padded walls
Kind Regards,
King
Like what itje said already, we did communicate and helping each other publicly or privately. And I am very open on what I found and did on my roms.
Like food (and many different thing), there is no BEST, or ULTIMATE on rom.
Different cook has different taste and cooking style, and different consumer had different preference to suit his need in many different area such as functionality vs. size (Lite vs. full), speed vs. stability, language (WWE, German, Chinese, ....etc).
Therefore, it's simply impossible/impractical to have one(or a few) ROM that suit everybody.

It's very hard to define and agreed on "best lite rom".
For example, my V2 lite has about 382mb free storage. Is it the litest you can get? No, because I can make it even liter by removing MS Live, Office ...etc. But then some people may complaint missing this or missing that (e.g. ringtones).
It just uneasy to draw the line and agreed on any standard.
Yea that is true..... The way i originally had my lite rom was completely stripped of every thing but everyone was saying they wanted more crap thrown in............. never ending stuggle i guess. Maybe we can crack open the xperia and put high density drop in replace RAM chip
i would like to flash my own rom but where can download newest rom and oem package.

The first thing you should learn for rom cooking is read and search. Everything you need is in this forum already.
Okay I've been having a look, and there's some more newer stuff in this rom but hte language obviously isn't english, (it's 412) so that's me out.
most of the new stuff seems to relate to SKtelecom
Build date for the rom (or most of the files) is 18-20/02/2009 so it's pretty new.
there's a new cab of media panel. R23_SKT_RC2_33262 (operator branded?)
a DAUM mobilepanel cab ???
Camera files are R253, there's a new MMSC "mplayon" - no idea what that is yet, but I suspect it's something to do with WIPI as several files (including DShow) reference it
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WIPI
opera is 15969
there's a wondefully titled
NATE melonsync sonyericsson STARWARS cab ???
My PC panel cab
MY Smart (and MYsmart cab)
I've zipped up some of the cabs here.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=6TBY76JZ
Not had chance to test them yet, so they may cause you to become Korean, or something... off to bed.
files in that zip are;
FM_Radio_MR1_R20_SKT_32516
Installwizard SE Starwars 090109
MXP R23 SKT RC2-33262
Mypcpanelinstall
Natemelonsync SE starwars
wm6.1ppc dawn opera 15969
There's also a new radio 1.11.25.71 it's in the radio thread.
Update
MXP is in English, cant see anything new on that panel.
Opera doesn't have the slidey zoom.
My guess is it's a koren customized R2
Will have a look when I finish my homeworks (my X icons )
thanks for sharing
you don't need the slider zoom, use the volume keys for zoom !!

you probably don't need any of these cab files for your country's rom.
xperia x1 is exclusive on sktelecom in korea, and i have to say, korea has one of the most ****ed up cellphone market in the whole world. korea might make some nice phones(samsung, lg), but our cellphone service is one of the worst in korea i'll say(****ed up plans that are over priced, although quality is excellent)
all those new panels and new cab files that are in the korean rom is for sktelecom to make money off of it.
daum mobilepanel will connect you to daum.net website and their programs wanting you to use sktelecom's 3g service.
nate melonsync is sktelecom's music service so that sktelecom can sell music through 3g.
mplayon is some wipi based bs program to use sktelecom's 3g service.
mypc and mysmart are for people who doesnt have outlook to manage their contacts and calender in korean.
xperia will be korea's 6th or 7th smartphone korea will ever have.
because of the freedom you have with smartphones, until recent times, korea did not sell any of the smartphone(samsung blackjack came out year after it was launched in the states.)
basically, you don't need any of those files and no need to get curious about it. i intend to delete all those crab too, moment i get my xperia =)
@evank418
Wow - the carriers most surely don't like the concept of one SIM-free device world-wide. I've watched this pernicious bully-boy carrier marketing slowly spread across the globe for about 3 years now.
For example, SE indulged Telstra in Aus for the X1a as 1st pass exclusive retailer - that's not happened before
It's akin to purchasing a motor car and being told you can only buy it from from one retailer under their own unchallengeable conditions.
Thanks for the insights.
to ianl8888
yeah korea has no such thing as sim free. we have 3 cellphone service privider( SK telecom, KTF, LG telecom) and they just recently allowed you to move to other service provider with your phone, but everyone uses different sms program. so basically, you can move to other service provider, but you can only make a phone call (no sms, no video calls, etc).
im not found MY Smart (and MYsmart cab)
Tried all the apps...they suck
Opera has much worse scrolling, could not identify any improvements.
Starwars stuff is obviously providerspecific
a Panel in a very foreign language does not help either
But thanks for the stuff anyway!!
Media Panel have some changes. i Replaced it in my rom.
language is russian. i thing it have libraries for all languages
fards, are you ever gonna release a rom for us to play with??

publicly? highly unlikely, far too many people with wrong approach lately, who think that they can demand stuff and complain.
wheres the fun in that ;-)
much prefer bugfixing at the mo
how about you cook me something and i do my best to try not to leak it . the X1 is in desporete need for more chefs. the future does not look too rosy with the close release of the diamond2 and tp2

the fun can be found in making fun of and ignoring the dumb jerks.
Do you buy x1 from Korea
If the purchase of Korea, May tried to change rom another rom
Im willing to do anything I possibly can to help in the creation of the ROM. I backed up the original Korean rom I got from mine. Just say the word and I'll do whatever else I can to help. I'm a full fledged supporter of cooked english/korean rom for the X1

Hi spixe1, I say the word PLEASE
I bought the X1 in Korea, flashed to several ROMS already and it works well, beside one Thing. Can you cook a rom in english which works for SMS receiving in KOREA using SK Telecom?

Roman
Hi , you all are wise people and we will always expect some minor errors here and their I noticed most of it not meant to be, so the benefits will be for the majority.
this is an encyclopedia thread , it is try and error , and all of our chiefs stated clearly and always ( THE ROM ARE BETA OR EXPREMENTAL ROM ).
We majority understand this.
So please do not eliminate your experiences angels to flow above our souls.
Thank you in advance for reconsidering.

I sooo don't know what that means, but anyway, this thread is a couple months old.
Rats2007: I'm not the one making ROMs. I was asking for someone to make one. Seems you misunderstood. There's a forum out there that contains a link to a working ROM, phone is all in English but works 100% with Korean telecom, + supports korean and english sms. Just do a search, shouldn't be too hard to find. (sorry I can't link you myself, a tad bit busy at the moment)

Hi,
I just got my XT860, the GSM version of DROID 3. I have tried some ICS roms like CM9, AOKP and even the new KEXEC one. Sadly for me none of them have support for video camera... the hardware codec drivers are missing, and that's a show stopper for me.
So I'm sticking with the official gingerbread ROM but I want to customize it a little so I feel more confortable with it.
I need guidance on how to deodex/zipalign it so I can remove all of motorola's bloatware and change some things like the launcher to the one I like, I also want to change the loading screen to a customized one, change the phone's theme (I *need* those xperia arc icons badly, theyre just gorgeous!). Oh, I also would love to know how to make the rom be compatible with hashofcode's safestrap.
I searched trough many topics on those subjects but I didn't find much information so any help is apreciated. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for taking your time to help me.
I have read the first topic u linked before posting, but it says thats for HTC devices and information on adding support for other devices is either really vague or i`m too dumb to understand. Propbably the latter.
I honestly have no idea.
Are you fluent in any coding languages? If you don't know anything then making a rom is pretty far away.

That and google. Apks arent usually manufacturer dependant, though it depends on the app. Instructions can always be followed and tweaked, you dont have to s-off etc... Google will help you though or you could just rip them out of a pre-existing rom and repackage.
