I have to say its the best home app out there now. I am using it with my modded Carbon glow theme as the default theme.
The pull out dock and soft keyboard is nice and I love the 7 screens.
There is auto rotate and many themes on the market. And the live folder shortcut option (although I wish there was a starred numbers live folder).
It also runs a lot smoother and doesnt take as long to get back to the home screen.
What do you think?
What are the live folders? Nothing shows up for me when I expand the tab
And yes, definatly THE best home alternative there is, I use it with glossy minimalism.

You have to download the add-on app to go with it. Search for Live Folder.

I like it... I'm glad he fixed the Fadetoblue theme.
I like the onscreen soft keyboard.
I like the Application Dock.
I like being able to turn off the workspace lable (W1, W2, etc).
I don't like the stupid watermark (although I'm sure the full version will get rid of that).
All in all I would say that it was a good improvement.
We just need the widgets to go with it!
nice update,
keyboard search is neat and they've added voice search
not sure I'll really use the slide out dock, and
haven't figured out if we can add apps to it.
I installed live folder,
it looks slick but chose the wrong contacts

You are right it does need widget... also bettercut doesnt work great w/ it. Bettercut keeps forgetting that i am working on Open Home so it keeps showing me the original home icons. kind of annoying.

In my opinion it's the best home screen alternative but it remains to be the only one without new widgets. What's up with that? LOL.
I also took a look at the website and they assured us that this app was based off the cupcake actual code so when cupcake is release it should still work flawlessly whereas the others, dxtop, ahome, etc., may not work properly if at all. Let's hope they're right.
Grr..I saw the paid version last night on my way to bed, and thought to myself...Im going to DL that in the morning (ive been waiting for over a week now for this) I woke up this morning, and the paid version is not showing up in the market for me. Is anyone else having this issue??
I like Icon dock, I hope aHome has this dock.
- The dock should be at the bottom of the screen, or on the top of screen
- Should have an option to hide application bar
- Should change interface of the star (which's used to hide/show Dock)
- Should add option to choose landscape mode only
- Need option auto change all icon in G1 (include appications dowloaded from market). This option run as Itune of Apple. Itune auto creat new interface icon for applications downloaded from Itune Store. Original icon of application is not good as you see.
Ahome lite

i like it.. i really do... but i like ahome better..... and a home has more widgets... a big plus
AHome is suck. I always suffer from being forced to close the program. I like open home from the very beginning, and today's upgrade is totally amazing with floating dock bar and Cupcake-like keyboard search.
dxTop is my alternative when Open Home Cupcake is not available
I did a review in paid apps/games sticky on this, no watermarks, bettercut works flawlessly! Auto rotate runs slow, i disabled it. I want widgets too but i think the ones from ahome are big and not very well done.

Hmmm... I see it on mine. But this was posted a few hours after you posted your comment. I did notice that the Lite version had an update. Perhaps the dev took the paid version down so we could download an updated version?

to add apps to the dock just open it up and do as normal. long press and drag. you will need to drag the app off the home screen onto the dock.
Any screenshots?
This is a must have, love the screens, but its killing my battery.
Odd, not noticing any extra battery drain from it.

Neither am i, had it since paid version came out.
Why does everyone say better cut doesn't work with Open Home....every time Open Home is updated, they updated Better Cut to ASURE it works. I have yet to have 1 single problem using Better Cut with Open Home. If for ANY reason you are haveing issues, back out of Better Cut (not Home, but back your way out), then re-open. It should ask you to make icons for Home, or Open Home, obviously choose Open Home.
Also loving it still, bought the paid version of OH the second it hit the market Updates have been great. I don't have any battery loss, at lesat nothing I notice. I have a 2400mAh battery, so I'd probably notice it less than the rest of ya.
I'll post some screen shots in just a sec.
These screen shots are in order from screen 1 to 7. Screen 5 shows the soft keyboard, screen 6 shows the pull-out dock bar.

Which dload did you do to get the flipping clock animation? Is anything broken by installing this version?
Oh wow, thats a great today screen.
2 questions...
1. How do you take "screenshots" of ur Screen? is there a cab out there that does this? or did u just take a picture of the screen with a normal camera?
2. I have almost the same theme as you, but urs looks better, the Black dialer and the 3D circle when u get a new email/text, i Like. Anyway do you think you can link us to what you used? TF3D theme, WM today theme, and dialer?!? :-D
Thanks alot man!
Agree, if you dont mind please post where you got the files.

to take screen shots i used a program called Ilium screen capture:
DOWNLOAD HERE
I used a variety of different things to make this work.
First i downloaded Diamond TF3D config HERE
I got the black TF3D theme here. i downloaded version 1.1b, this includes the white flip clock: HERE
install tf3d config and use it to install the tf3d .theme file u just downloaded
after this, (at least for me) the grey/white start menus on the top and bottom were still the stock color, not black. So i had to use this black today screen theme to change it to black too: HERE
after you download copy to device and click on the theme, then navigate to "today" in start/settings. There should be two themes called htc black. choose one and hit ok. took a few seconds but then everything changed to black
Then i downloaded the black dialer called IPC Black Dialer ENG, copy to ur device and installHERE
everything from there looks great, but for me, i had to change the wallpaper back to the default, "bricks", in the tf3d settings menu, i also had to change the image in the start menu because mine was white from the previous setup and i couldnt read the items in it because they were both white, to change this. Download the black "bricks" wallpaper HERE and open it in the "pictures & video" program hit menu and then set as today wallpaper (this will change the image in the start menu to the black bricks.
i hope i didnt leave anything out. Let me know if u guys have trouble.
omg Brooksthepro...THANK YOU! :-D!!!
Really greatly appreciate that :-D!
ill use that cab to take screen shots from now on and when i flash NATF's ROM, i can get my Today screen back to how i had my Fuze. thanks
Amazing how many things you have to do. Too bad its not a simple skin.
I'll give it a try after I backup my unit.
I installed it. I missed one important step. I still need to customize it, but at default, it's a bit more laggy than the att version. Since theres a fade on when going to another TF screen, theres a second or so pause. ATT just poped the other screen up so it seemed more zippy. I doubt its slower.

I wish we could get rid of the fades to speed it up a little. When scrolling through the tabs it keeps wanting to open it up if I pause on it for a second to see which tab I'm at, the ATT stock theme didn't do that.

ya after using this for a few days iv noticed this also. Its a little slower then the stock at&t one....
Here's a quick screenie of mine:
Here ya go
Two things:
1) Anybody figured out how to remove the pause when moving form one tab to another?
2) Does the weather hack work to disply your town (to display a town not in the original listing) with this tf3d running?

ya the pause is actually starting to piss me off too. Sucks because i LOVE how it looks. but sometimes its a pain to use :-(
What pause? Are you talking about when you click left or right with the D-Pad I get a very short pause when i do that but when I use my finger to scroll I get no pause?

were talking about the black one in the first post i posted. When scrolling from left to right in tf3d there is a pause before the menu selection comes up. It also seems to have significantly slowed down my text message typing.
Hmm I have an ATT Fuze. I installed the black theme but then I modded its a little bit. I was getting lag from the black theme but when I changed the clock it seemed to go away. Maybe this is why it was not on the ATT version? The other clocks with flipping don't seem to slow the device down at all.

If you're willing to use a different ROM, I basically have the same theme without the lag at all.
Install the 1.40.1 ROMeOS ROM, which gives you the black windows mobile theme, and the black tabs in TF3D.
This installs a black clock, to get the white one (that flips), download the zip in this post and copy all the files into your /Windows/ directory and overwrite the existing ones: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2920157&postcount=2615
From your post, download the "bricks" wallpaper from here: http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y272/brooksthepro/Backgroundnc.jpg
The go to the settings tab in TF3D and change the wallpaper from there.
You can also install your black dialer just fine, but I couldn't install the calculator style I found for some reason.
This method makes it just as quick as the NATF's ROM when switching between tabs with no lag at all.
The ROM is pretty nice too, seems quick and stable for me.
I just love the Concept theme from here: http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15005, so I decided to make my own QVGA version. So please, enjoy my creation, CONCEPT MODERNE

Pretty self-explanatory, although the grid uses Object Grid, so to add, you must be in Author Mode. This is the only way to add those nice custom icons.
Tapping Software again brings up Resco Explorer
The Menu button on the far left is replaced by Home button, which closes the dock
SYSTEM PAGE
The four notification boxes mimic the little squares on the upper left side of the Home menu.
The grid uses Object Grid, so to add, you must be in Author Mode. This is the only way to add those nice custom icons.
Tapping System again brings up control panel
The Menu button on the far left is replaced by Home button, which closes the dock
IMPORTANT! Download the weather icons here: http://rapidshare.com/files/217925270/Concept_Moderne_Weather_Icons.zip
Also, I have found a small error on the weather page. Tomorrow's Forecast is not set right and is actually only reading off Today's Forecast.
Open the full weather page by clicking on the weather pic at the bottom of the Home Page.
Go to Author Mode and hold n' tap Tomorrow's Forecast text. The "Text to display" should read %MultiForecast1%. If yours is not, change it to that. Now your Tomorrow Forecast is going to show tomorrow's forecast.

I really like the layout, but I do think you could incorporate more of a color theme to this to glue everything together a bit better. Another item to note is the use of (or lack of) docks.. The homepage has a lot going on which could be solved with a top down swipe to remove some clutter. Music integration with song information would be nice as well.

Can you go more in details in what you are mentioning? I believe I do have a color theme going: white, light grey, dark grey, and orange. Do you see something else otherwise or lacking?
As for the docks, the Software, System, and Contacts button on the bottom open up their own perspective docks. The Agenda and Weather has their own docks. What other docks/features do you propose? What do you consider with the top-down swipe?
Music integration is something I will add later. The only thing is that there is no relatively universal music integration for the main apps out there. I use exclusively Pocket Player, in which I can add the fast forward, rewind, play/pause buttons. Other people wants S2P, Nitrogen, Core Player, or WMP. Perhaps, there's an app that can mimic A2P functions?

Sorry, I had this thread in the WAD2 forum, where the original Concept WAD for Omnia was pretty well known. I did update my first post to include that thread: http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15005
As you can see, I was inspired by the theme and color palette, but my overall design is very different from the original Concept Omnia version.

I posted my remarks in the WAD2 forum, but to keep the xda community informed, here are my remarks: I am so incredibly impressed with your design work, your graphics and the WisBar software. The software alone has opened a new world. My problem is I don’t understand the WisBar programming technique enough to know how or where to “program” it to have the same outcome and appearance as your design would dictate, and frankly I don’t have the time to teach myself. I am a computer hacker so I know a fair amount, but not the intricacies of a new program like WisBar. Can you find time to describe in slightly more detail, in what directories (or even if you have to make new directories) how to make my phone operate as the YouTube demo I watched. I think your knowledge would be a real gift to the community.

Other Pages:
Landscape Screen:
Features:
- working clock and calendar
- mms, sms, voicemail, missed calls, and unread emails notification just like the iPhone (see red notifier next to SMS above)
- slide to left, right, up and down pages for four extra pages of programs just like the iPhone (you can add more)
- bottom page features a photo contacts page (you can change to shortcut to programs)
- pressed buttons animation (icon shrinks and expands on press and release)
- custom icons for radio, tasks, contacts, file explorer...
- custom leather wallpaper background, additional wallpaper included
Design:
- attention to detail, for instance, shadows for everything!
- skin is simple, intuitive, and elegant.
- entire skin is icons based, because the brain takes longer to process text.
- a simple grid layout for easy access to everything with just "one" look or click! Keep it simple!
- a leather wallpaper to provide texture and class, color theory used throughout the skin!
- too much or too little space, or used incorrectly can mean the difference between nice versus crap!
- no redundancy, for instance, the clock and date are not shown multiple times in the skin!
- everything is finger-friendly, no stylus ever needed!
Installation:
To install, you'll need to install Wisbar Advance Desktop 2 (WAD), and copy the iPhone OS themes into the WAD's theme folder. This was developed and tested on the Acer neoTouch S200 using WAD 2.2 build 1. Was also tested successfully using the latest WAD 2.5. Any questions, please post here and I'll try my best to answer them.
Download:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=C45FAWUF
how to install into the phone?
You'll need to install Wisbar Advance Desktop 2.x first. And then find the Wisbar Advance Desktop folder in your programs folder, keep opening the folders until you find the "themes" folder. Then, just copy the "iPhone OS" and "iPhone OS Landscape" files into this themes folder. Now start/run Wisbar Advance Desktop, click and hold until a menu comes up. In that menu there should be a "settings" menu, and in that settings menu, there should be a "change theme" button. Hit that, and then select "iPhone OS" for the portrait theme, and "iPhone OS Landscape" for the landscape theme, click apply, and then you should be all set.
Some links from the buttons to programs might not work for you since I linked them to the programs I use. To point/link the buttons to programs of your choice, go into "auth mode" in WAD and then click and hold down on the button you wish to change, and a menu should come up, select edit script, and then there should be an option to link/launch a program of your choice when you click on the button. Enjoy!
hey download link is not working
Can anyone re upload the file.
the links dead.
I'm happy to see developement on this phone go go go XDA
Anyone know of a way that I can host the file on this forum, if not I'll fix the link later when I get some time, check back, thanks.
Do as follow :
Click here for the larger one. ^^
the file attachments failed because it is a 4.5 meg file, and the site only allows for a small attachment. Anyway, I've re-upped it to megaupload, they don't seem to have a limit, so the download link to megaupload in the original post should be fine now. If anyone runs into any problems, just let me know. Otherwise, please let me know if you like it and from what country you are located, enjoy!

Sorry, no time for a video review. As for the number of pages, if you open "author mode" in Wisbar Advance Desktop, you can create as many pages as you want. I just so happen to pick four because it is the easiest to get to with only one swipe in any direction.
Nice
Very nice! But changing page is a bit slow and also, when you slide page the dock doesn't stay . I have know how to do that the dock doesn't slide with it, but now it's a long time ago ^^".
PS : For some mirrors, here you got some : http://www.jheberg.com/download-CD8118DADDD1-themes.html. Behind the 2 ads, click "Télécharger" And wait 10 seconds .
For me it seems to crash after selecting iphone for portrait and landscape it crashed. I got my default windows theme back. and the top start bar keeps flashing and draining battery. I have an HTC HD2 wich is as well 480x800.
already tried a soft reset and reinstalling the app..
What can i do?
It looks great though on the picture!
EDIT:
When i choose the landscape mode for portrait i see half the skin.. but portrait for portrait doesn't work.
When i uesed bsb tweaks and i turn my phone over the landscape mode works but the shortcuts dont because i have a dutch rom.

Strange, I have it set up so that it stays when you slide/swipe. This can be easily done by going into "auth mode" and pinning the dock, the locking the 4 icons in the dock and pinning the notifiers. Then you should be all set and it will stay when you move between pages. Don't forget to pin from the background to the front, as in pin dock image first, and the notifiers last because the last thing you pin will be at the top. So if you pin the notifiers first, and then the dock, the dock will be on top blocking/hiding the notifiers and icons etc.
As for the slow slide animation, that's strange, I have no issues, pretty fast on mine. Could be processor related, as I'm running on the 1 gig Snapdragon that came with the Acer neoTouch. I don't really know the speed for other machines, as I had only my phone to develop it on. The only thing I can suggest is to go through your Wisbar settings and make sure to check all appropriate settings, and esp at the last tab about "running on low mem mode"... if you haven't unchecked that, then try unchecking it, restarting and see if that helps.

Hmm, not sure why it is not working for you, the only thing I can suggest, and this would probably be useful for anyone else experiencing any issues, is to try using WisBar Advance Desktop version 2.2 build 1 (the version I developed it on) or try a newer/latest version. I also tested the skin on the newest version, 2.5 or something and that worked fine also. Hopefully that should resolve your problems.
edit, it finally worked! many thanks!!

Nice Theme.
Just installed and started playing with this on an Omnia i8000. Nice job on it. Took me a little while to find my way in and can't work out how to get the Weather Icon working properly. Does it show updated data like the calender and clock or is it just a fixed icon display. Got most of the other bits linked to Samsungs Programs so that's great. Added in a Settings button to get me to the Settings pages easier. WAD is a good idea as well. Never tried it before and it's an interesting program.
Overall this is my favourite so far and I've been playing with lots of other (SPB Mobile Shell 3.5, PointUI, Samsung Widget Plus and of course TF3D).
Thanks for all your hard work.

I'm glad you enjoy it. I've always found Apple's software/concept/design to be superior to anything else, and Windows hardware likewise. So I always felt the iPhone skin on a Windows phone is the best of both worlds. Being a perfectionist with a graphics and technical background, all that really helped. I had to create, altar a lot of my own graphics for this theme in Photoshop.
Anyway to answer your question. I had the weather thing working, but decided to remove it because it was causing some issues once in a while, might not be a problem for you. You can certainly add it back if you wish by adding a weather item when in auth mode in WAD. If you have any questions, just let me know. It is always good to hear that people enjoy the skin, their thoughts and appreciation, so thanks for posting.
Felt like toying around with TouchWiz apps and felt like sharing a few mods of mine. Download the desired apks and place em in your /system/app folder by your method of choice.
All Apps are for FROYO, so only use em if you are on DL30/EB01 or any other Galaxy S Froyo ROM if perchance you aren't a Fascinate user.
Enjoy.
TouchWiz Launcher
-------------------------------------
Based off of GTG's mod of TouchWiz, seeing that in his post he gave up the project, just felt like toying around with it, more versions perhaps to come in the future.
Features
Page-Indicator - Placed on the bottom of the screen similar to TW 4.0, I like using them to zip around homescreens and being the bottom is much more accessible than reaching top. Also fixed their touch area, by default they're biased to the left and it becomes apparent when you space em out more.
Completely removed colored BG images - The BG images that go behind apps in the app drawer, rather than just making them invisible .pngs, completely edited them out of the smali code. I think this is why my App Drawer animations are smoother than GTGs. Will probably upload a version with them later.
Fixed Touch Sensitivity - One of my major issues with GTG's Launchers, they had a lot of bias towards scrolling left and right on homescreens, making TW's scrolling apps a pain to use.
Cleaned up Dock - App titles no longer show up in the Dock and I lowered down the dock both due to the lack of text, and to make space for lower Page-Indicators.
Bunch of minor stuff
3/18 UPDATE
I've finally completed it, after many hours of hard work, frustration at many force closes and force restarts, I bring you my Ultimate Version. This is the base version that will be updated and built upon as future mods come out.
Fixed Force Close Issues - Renaming folders and using Alphabetical List Drawer now work
Removed all lag/stuttering - In GTG Launcher, as was in my older versions, when using 16-bit disabled mode, when in the app drawer if you scrolled fast or pinched you would experience lots of stuttering. I've resolved this issue and now it performs as smooth and responsive as it should be.
Reintegrated Badges - The notification badges for text messages and e-mails (when using TW e-mail) now work. I've also got ALL notifications working, but it requires an add-on app, which I'm still working on and will upload later.
SUB MENU FOR OPTIONS!
The last note is a biggy. When you push the menu soft-key you'll notice that "Search" has been replaced with "Options".
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

}
Try 'em out, pretty self-explanatory, though I'll go a bit in detail on 16-bit mode. 16-bit mode trades image quality for speed, however on/off makes no difference in RAM usage, so it's purely a cosmetic difference. In GTG there was a big difference due to the stuttering in the high image quality version, there is no more stuttering, but animations are still smoother in "Speed" mode. "Speed" mode does not work with Live Wallpapers, I've tried before and weird things happen, if you turn on a Live Wallpaper while on "Speed" it'll switch to "Quality". Here are comparison pics so you can see the difference. Some color, but mostly translucency that gets ruined, I personally prefer Quality (which is the default in stock launcher), but hey I give you the freedom of choice.
Speed vs Quality
Expect more options to appear in future versions. Have at it, enjoy my hard work.
ULTIMATE Version rev.1:http://www.mediafire.com/?x8namgc8jf3blua
ULTIMATE Version rev.1 LANDSCAPE ENABLED:http://www.mediafire.com/?2vrorbl2nxay11k
NOTE: I just noticed, the App Drawer in Landscape mode is messed up, Landscape mode is from the Galaxy Tab TouchWiz, so it's trying to use those dimensions, so I am aware of this issue. Homescreens are fine.
Old Versions for educational/curiosity sake:
Original Version:http://www.mediafire.com/?308vib8szt6ia30
5x4 No Dot Version: http://www.mediafire.com/?l1ps5llggf2ab1c
5x4 Dot Version: http://www.mediafire.com/?ki2m9e7borbmw0d
Probably more stuff to come later.
Music Player
--------------------------------------
I noticed a request to turn off the "Low Battery" interruption of the Music Player, and here it is. Have at it, stock music player that you can continue to listen to when below 10% battery.
http://www.mediafire.com/?b233b7rxc97h2w0
BuddiesNow
---------------------------------
This is the Vibrant's BuddiesNow app, I like it much more than Fascinate's. In addition to the RollerDex view that we have, they also have a Grid View which is much better for accessing contacts and viewing notifications regarding them.
Sped up the Bubble Pop-Up considerably.
Fixed Force-Close errors when not using Vibrant's Contacts apps when checking Missed Call. If you notice any other Force-Closes, let me know and I'll fix it up. This fix is for non-Vibrant users, so if you are on Vibrant, this sped up BuddiesNow may force-close on missed call check.
http://www.mediafire.com/?l93rgxdsuksr1ga
WeatherClock (Accuweather and improved versions to come later)
---------------------------------
I'm personally a fan of Analog Clocks, and I like the weather clock included in touchwiz. What I don't like is that the weather clock does not have a shortcut to the clock app. So here you are, a simple mod that redirects touching the clock to opening the clock app, if you want to view the weather detail view, that's been redirected to the "weatherbug" text at the bottom of the widget (and from within that view you can touch "weatherbug" to bring up the browser link that used to exist on the widget).
There are 3 versions:
Redirect to Touchwiz Clockpackage.http://www.mediafire.com/?go2dc0ezhvew7re
Redirect to AOSP Deskclock.http://www.mediafire.com/?42j315aazb7aa9b
Redirect straight to Alarm of AOSP Deskclock.http://www.mediafire.com/?cabchmb6bwbnmea

well done...as always
Very nice work. This might be a stupid question, but is there anyway to get some of the widgets, such as Buddies Now to work in Launcher Pro, or are they specifically linked to TouchWiz?

Any chance of removing thw home page selector dots when not scrolling between homepages? Like the original TW. Or just moving the page icons back to the top? Id just switch back to TWGTG but I like the app icon in the middle of the dock

Well actually, whether the dots are permanent or not is a feature of unmodified TWs, like the Eu i9000 always has theirs there, while for fascinate and the Mesmerize's TW, they disappear over time. The smali code I'm using does not have the functions to hide them over time.
If you like the center app icon, it's a pretty simple change. Take your desired GTG apk and open it with 7-zip or your choice of zip opener. Go to res/drawable-hdpi and replace "mainmenu_icon_application.png" with the one found in mine or any stock TWlauncher.
Launcher pro notifications.....
Wish we could get...(I personally am not smart enough to)...the missed call, gmail,. And text notifications on the dock icons....i would love whoever could make it happen...if it is possible.

TouchWiz Launcher actually does show Bubble Notifications like what you describe, problem is you need the right TouchWiz30Launcher.apk and BadgeProvider.apk combination. This TouchWiz30Launcher doesn't seem to work with the BadgeProvider that comes with the Fascinate, I'm trying to find out which one does and when I do I'll upload the right BadgeProvider. Or, I'll try changing the code and see if it works...

Ahh I forgot that it only worked for Text Messages, I was wondering why my stock TW wasn't showing notifications, heh. Well this is most definitely on my to do list, getting the launcher to show notifications and expanding upon the available notifications, but don't expect anything too soon.

Original post is here (competition post).
I have also posted this in the Vega section, but as a lot of tablets have the exact same screen size (1024x600) and in some cases people are running very similar ROMs, this should work pretty well on other devices too (not tested though!), and in case any tweaking is needed, the PST files I used to create all of this are at the end of the post.. I have drawn heavily in the past from the G-Tab and Toshiba Folio 100 forums for things to use on my Vega, for which I thank you all! So this is hopefully my way of giving a little back
I'm going to keep this as short as possible otherwise it's going to swiftly turn into a wall of text, but here is a brief outline of that I was going for
I wanted a completely "unique" look for my Vega. I've tried basically every launcher/home screen available, and none of them felt right. Honeycomb is in the wild, but until that makes it's way to the Vega in a fast and stable form I wanted something that I enjoyed using day-to-day. So, here is VintageVega:

This is an original pack created by me, containing 28 "Objects" and 3 Wallpapers (with a shelf to place some of the objects on) for now. I'm sure that I will add more later. Further down this post you will also find ALL of the PSD files I used to create all of the objects and wallpapers. So if you have Photoshop or GIMP you can edit these yourself to your own liking. You will be able to achieve this entire set up using entirely free applications available on the Android Market, and you will need NO knowledge of advanced tools (such as ADB from the Android SDK). this can all be done directly from your Vega.
To set up VintageVega, you will need the following apps:
ADW.Launcher (I am using ADWLauncher EX but normal ADW should be fine.
Set up your launcher Auto-Stretch icons, and set the grid to 6 Columns and 6 Rows (columns is flexible, but you will probably have to keep the rows at 6 for the shelf). Also I would fix the launcher orientation ot Landscape (VintageVega ONLY works in landscape mode!).
A nice clock widget! I use (and paid for) ShotClocks but you could easily use the free Big Ben Clock or many alternatives on the Market.
SiMi Folder Widget for creating lovely categorized folders on the desktop.
Desktop VisualizeR to place all of the objects in onto your screen
Here are some images of how I have set up my Vega using the VintageVega pack:
This is an EXAMPLE, you can set up VintageVega in any way you like!
Home screen:
Lightswitch on the right opens the app drawer (accross all screens).
clock is a ShotClocks widget.
Portrait on the left (of me and my daughter ) opens the Gallery app.
Cash Register under the portrait opens the Android Market.
Globe opens the browser (Miren Browser for me).
Calendar under the clock opens the Calendar App.
Scrapbook (with stamps) opens the Social Networking SiMi Folder widget (more on that later).
Toolbox opens the Settings menu.
Stack of letters on the shelf opens the Email app.
Office Screen:
The World Map opens Google Maps Application.
Books along the shelf opens Aldiko (but could easily open Kindle App or a SiMi Folder widget with multiple choices).
Newspaper rack opens news reader app (Pulse in my case).
Phone opens Skype.
Entertainment Screen:
Film Projector screen opens SiMi Folder containing BBC iPlayer and YouTube apps.
The 3 portraits along the top open: Angry Birds - Seasons | Angry Birds | Dungeon Defenders (The PST to create your own framed image is linked in the PST pack at the bottom of this post).
The Radio on the bottom right opens the Music App (but again, this could open another SiMi Folder).
The Games along the bottom left open a SiMi folder containing a list of my games, here is an example of how a SiMi Folder set up in this way looks:
Please note, ALL screen shots above have been lowered in quality to make them smaller files, the images are actually MUCH higher resolution than this.
To set up a SiMi Folder Widget:
Open the app Drawer and select SiMi Folder.
Select "Add Folder".
Choose a folder name, and set the folder type to "Apps", then click Save.
Select your newly created folder, and tap on "Applications" on the right.
Add all of your desired applications to the folder.
Click Save, and then exit.
All done!
To add an object to your home screen:
Copy all of the objects images in a folder to your memory card.
Long-press on a blank area of the screen and choose "Widgets" to add a widget.
Select one of the "Desktop VisualizeR" (from now on I will refer to this as DTV) sized widgets (selecting 4x4 gives the best image quality, then you can re-size the widget to the correct size afterwards.
Tap on the newly created DTV widget to open the DTV menu and start configuring your object.
For Icon, select one of the VintageVega Object images from the gallery (or whatever app you chose).
For Action, you can either select "Launch Application" to select a single application, or "Other" to choose a SiMi Folder that you have already set up.
Once you have selected an action, clear the Label field so it is blank.
Change the "Touch Effect" from Orange to "None".
Click OK!
That's it! It seems like a long process, but once you are used to it, you will be adding and moving objects to your hearts desire
Incase that's too hard to follow, here's a quick video that should clear things up
And so, without ANY further waffling... Here are the files
Download the VintageVega Object Pack.
Download the VintageVega Wallpaper Pack.
PST files for those that wish to create their own framed images (or those who are just curious).
Wallpaper PST (Caution, 30mb File!) - High resolution PST file (with shelf) for you to create your own VintageVega wallpapers.
Objects PST - Source files for ALL of the objects included in VintageVega (incase you want to modify any of them yourself). NOTE: The social Icons pack included here was not created by me, it was created by Dawghouse and are free to use.
PLEASE do not repost these as your own work, but feel free to modify and enjoy this as you wish. Please let me know of any problems! And soon I will hopefully post some YouTube vids of this in action and some easy to follow tutorials on YouTube (for those of you who can't follow the written instructions ).
One last note: I specifically designed the wallpaper/shelf on VintageVega to match up with standard Icon sets, such as iDroid so you can actually have those icons sat on the shelf if you wish, and it doesn't look bad to boot
Example:
So if you find that there are objects missing from the pack that you would like, you can always use an icon instead
Add icons in the same way as normal with DTV.
Enjoy!

Hi there! I've made a custom-sized wallpaper for phone devices for you that might work a little better (I based it on the SGS screen dimensions).
I pretty much guessed at the shelf location, so you will have to play with ADW row numbering to get it to fit. If the shelf needs adjusting just let me know (best way would be to post a screenshot) so I can see how much it is out by and fix it!

A completely random Twitter Search resulted in me finding this page with a big shoutout for VintageVega! Also, this twitter search show's it had been re-tweeted a whole bunch of times without me even knowing :/
Ah well, nice to see that it's getting out there!

This is brilliant, it deserves much more attention! I don't have a tablet, but if I did I'd definitely try it out! It'll be great to see if more like this come out, it'll reinvent the home screen's capabilities!
Wow, great theme Zebwen, and good job on the instructions. Couldn't have been simpler. I was gonna ask if you had an icon for AB Rio, but it took all of 5 minutes to create one from your icon pack. Now I'm trying to figure a way to include another set of shelves to place objects(icons) on. I know it's possible to edit the books icon, but I'm thinking maybe editing the wallpaper to include a 2nd 1/2 screen shelf. This way I can place icons directly on top of the shelf. With the edited books icon, you can only get so close to an adjacent icon.
Again, great job!.
Tony
In case anyone's interested. An AB Rio icon and an updated AB Seasons icon.

Here's where I am so far. Still tweaking..
The "test" screen is just used for tweaking.
For some reason the rom I'm on (GHarmony GB) is not allowing for screenshots (Screenshot ER or DDMS) so I just took a couple pics with my Dx. so the quality kinda sucks.

Good! Glad to see it is working well on other tablets too. Hopefully starting work on a new theme soon, similar but with a more modern style
For some reason I'm having problems changing wallpapers. When I use the normal method (long press blank area, wallpapers, gallery, select pic) ES freezes up. No biggie, I can still just open a pic in ES, choose "set wallpaper" and chose the wallpaper.
For now, I'm trying to find a good icon for ES (file cabinet, file folder, etc.)
I actually prefer a modern theme. Looking forward to your efforts. Let me know if I can be of any assistance.
Here's what I got so far for ES Explorer:
I like them! If you manage to finish it off would you mind me re-posting them in the main post?
