Help with a ROM - Touch HD Windows Mobile ROM Development

Hi Guys
I have a new Blackstone HTC HD and I found that it's setting are locked to a different network than I'm on....ahhhhh i.e. the internet setting r fixed.
I tried to see if there was a ROM on the HTC site, but it too is locked to the same network.
Is there anywhere that I can get a standard ROM so that I can use the phone on any network?
Please help if you can....thank you in advanced
AJK

sorry adding to this - i have tried the ROMs on this site - and my phone always freezes after the first stage of the upgrade - I have also tried the SD card route with the smae results - is my phone not able to recieve a new ROM

My network provider is not listed, so how to I get the provider settings
Can't you get your Connection if you go to SETTINGS -> CONNECTIONS -> CONNECTION SETUP ?
Or maybe try SETTINGS -> PHONE -> Service (select every item and click GET SETTINGS) or Network...
Maybe your provider can send the settings to you. I know O2 does this with an text message (SMS) that automatically sets up the connection. Maybe you need to call your network provider to get the settings...
I hope I could help you... I don't know the prob... My connection was always listed.

UK Orange Connection Settings

Hi Guys,
I have just flashed my Trinity with the new ROM but I have lost my connection settings that enable me to connect to the internet etc...
Could some kind soul please post the correct settings on here for me and also if possible post the correct settings to enable me to receive my email via Hotmail.
I am in the UK using Orange Pay As You Go simcard if this helps.
Also, if I install Tom Tom on my storage card will the program automatically connect to the satellites to use GPS. I have never used a satnav device before.
Cheers!
Hi Mate.. if you follow the instructions found on the following link, it will restore your Orange MMS settings.
http://www.expansys.com/ft.aspx?i=120563&thread=62
The instructions are for an iPaq6515 but they work for this device too. I used them and it worked first time.
To set up internet access, define a new modem connection called orangewap that will connect via cellular line (GPRS, 3G), accesspoint name is orangewap, and leave the username, password & domain blank.
This should get you going.
Orange Settings
Cheers Boidy!
All sorted now.
Thanks for your help.

no connection to EDGE...

all of a sudden i am unable to connect to the EDGE network, no word on 3g as i dont have it in my area. i try to connect to say PIE and i get the message "cannot connect with current connection settings. to change your connection settings, tap setting" this brings me to a help screen asking about "my isp name" and "my work network". no idea what to do past here, any help would be greatly appreciated. i did just flash a new rom and then just the basic googlemaps/operamini/keyboard fix/touch keypad.
My ISP Name - Add new connection (or modify existinf), select GPRS connection (no CSD) and at minimum You must know APN for GPRS (usually internet).
Contact Your mobile operator for details - APN, maybe GPRS user name and password is used by network too.
If possible try your SIM card in another handset jUst to be sure that there is nothing wrong at your Carriers end

diamond "connection setup"

hi,
I live in Uruguay, South America, I bought an htc diamond in usa and it is working fine.
The problem is that the " connection setup " is lacking Uruguay and network settings from Uruguay in its database, so every time I turn on the phone I get the connection setup screen.
There is also lacking the data from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, etc. Only Bolivia is included.
My question: is there any way to update the " connection setup " database so the diamond could recognize the carriers from these countries?
Thank you
see here:
http://www.taniwha.org.uk/gprs.html
go to settings -> all settings -> connection -> connection
and setup manually using those settings.
If those are not correct, just google for 'GPRS setting Uruaguay' + your operator
Hello,
Click Setting, Connection Setup, then Menu on the right bottom, and so uncheck Enable Auto Configuration.
It will not bother you anymore...
Phil
thank you phil,
that's what i've done and it's ok.
thank you 1234,
can you tell me (step by step) how to configure my carrier settings? the service provider here in uruguay is called " ancel ".
with your help i should be able to do it.
thanks again,
best regards,
arturo
Use touch flow and go to settings, then left softkey for all settings.
Then the connections tab (at the bottom), then connections icon.
There go to setup new modem connection (if i remember corectly)
for APN put: gprs.ancel
for username put: guest
for password put: guest
hit ok/save and exit all the way out. It may take about 30 seconds to lock on, or just soft reset to be sure.
thanks again 1234,
i will try your instructions.
one more question: once i set the carrier settings, is it possible to set other carriers in case i travel to argentina or brazil?
best regards,
arturo

Hi,
I have a HTC Touch Diamond and this message has appeared several times today..
Connection Setup
DataBase Update Check.
It may cost data connection fee to check if new database update. Do you wish to proceed?
Can anyone provide any assistance on what this is? How can I get rid off this message? It interruptes the data connection.
Many thanks in advance!

Simply run the Connection Setup (Start -> Settings -> Connections) and choose the provider, in your case T-Mobile, and your country.

Maybe I'm just a nublet

Hi,
I flashed HD Topaz 3/28 release on my Tilt and it's an awesome rom, i love how the incoming call thing works, love how quick and responsive my phone became... ect...
The problem is
I can't connect to the net, everytime i try to send/recieve on my emails, it brings up connections manage which acts like it wants to dial an ISP. Why won't it connect to ATT's data network, or is that something you can't do with cooked roms?
I also have some other issues that i posted in the rom's specific thread, but figured i would ask this here since this is a more general question
thank you
Have you tryed turning off the proxy in connections menu, in future please post in the ROM thread rather than start a new one.
Helps you & the chef with issues.
non of the connections have proxy turned on. I only show 2 connections
My ISP name
Ad a new modem connection
Setup my proxy server
My Work Network
Add new modem connection
Add a new VPN connection
Setup my proxy server
...
I'm at a loss, i've posted in the original cook's thread, no responce yet

You probably haven't set it up to work with AT&T's network yet. I've had that same problem before. go to Start-> Settings -> connection setup, and have it configure your settings to United States-> AT&T. That should work
