Question about faria & Molski ROMs

using typho5 we can see that latest Molski ROM still contain IPL/ SPL but Faria's ROM 3.0 dose not ! just OS, GSM, Splash and Extension
as far as i know the rom that not contain IPL & SPL can be installed in both G4 and G3 wisard ! can also be installed in CID Unlocked wizard
another thing i would understand !! changing the boot (spl/ipl) is dangerouse !so if we use any rom without IPL/SPL it would be better and safe !
so why we need to cid unlock the wizard ? and why change the boot ?

Well... the CID really hasn't anything to do with the ROM... CID, also known as vendor lock, is something that the manufacturer put in in order to prevent users from installing roms that aren't released by the manufaturers themselfs.
Second, older wizards come with an older bootloader and, naturally, there has been some improvements in the newer versions. Therefor one usually, when one has an older bootloader, have to install a rom provided by a vendor in order to upgrade it. And thereafter install a customized rom released by someone here on the board, assuming that you have CID unlocked your phone before of course

Just check your device if it is G3 or G4, then either Unlock or HardSPL/SoftSPL your device and flash one of the Wizard English WM5/WM6 ROMs available.

plz I'm new andi dont know how to know my device is G3 or G4 and i download official `ROM 2.16 WWE but when i begin update hi wrote that
"INVALID VENDOR ID"
plz help!!!
ok i think my deice is G3 bucause when i sturt up my device ISP/SPL is 2.16. is this G3???

You DID NOT CID unlock your device.

If you have downloaded official Rom from it's website and still can't upgrade then use the 'ROMUpdateUtility_Wizard_NoID' replace it with the ruu in the official rom,you can get this from the below link.:-

or as starkwong has suggested,you can CID unlock the phone and upgrade to any latest custom build wm6 english roms.To unlock read and correctly follow the method as explained in the stickies for unlocking and upgrading in the 'wizard upgrading forum'.

sorry about my English.

i,ll try to update but language is still russian an ROM is still same.
I download thes file: RUU_NoID.exe, then i download an oficial ROM, then i replace the original ROM's RUU with RUU_NoID. operation begin, but after and of this nothing change.
ha can i change language for English? can anyone help me an give me a links of this files vich i can use???
my IPL/SPL is 2.16 and i think it is G3???
plz today i must do this i need help!!!

Well,I'll suggest you go for the second option,unlock your phone and upgrade to any latest wm6 custom build Roms.Once you get your phone unlocked,it stays unlocked and gives you the opportunity to keep on upgrading to the latest Roms and features.Read the stickies on unlocking and upgrading and do it correctly,I'm sure you'll have much more benefits and enjoyment.

ok,grrrrrr8,if you have managed to downgrade to ipl/spl 1.xx,its time to SIM/CID unlock the phone,read the 'definitive guide for unlocking by Dr.Puttingham and download the lokiwiz-2b tool and do the method exactly as stated in the guide to Sim/CID unlock your phone,after successful unlock upgrade to ipl/spl 2.xx by downloading and flashing T-mobile 2.26 to the phone,only then you can upgrade to any latest wm6 rom,as its required to have CID unlocked phone and ipl/spl 2.xx for upgrade to wm6.

Sorry for Offtopic but, i cant install official wm5 rom cause.
The ruu with wm5 doesnt work> connection error
The .nkb doesnt work with ruu mun> file read error
What to do???

Are you sure it is .nkb? Wizard doesn't use that kind of ROM...

What?? Of course he uses. I extracted the RUU and rom file from .exe instaler.
What could i do? I tried also flash it with softspl and i didnt work.

Well,which rom you are trying to flash and which rom is at present running on the phone,plz be specific ?This problem usually occurs when trying to flash a rom in a language different then already present on the phone.Are you running a Russian or some other language OS on the phone and trying to flash with a rom in some other language ?

I have T mobile mda vario g4 and i want to install official wizard wm5 rom in german language. And i cant.
No i am running wm6.1 with english language. I had never, after the hardspl, problem with flashing g4 roms. Everithing worked perfect with muunˇs RUU.
I have english rom( all instaled roms were anglish) and i want to downgrade to official wm5 german rom. And tzhen upgrade to another wm6 or wm6.1 rom.
Why i cant??
Sorry. U are right. The rom file is. nbf , and yeah the official rom is like that.
If i try to flash it with ruu in official pack - i cant cause wrong update tool ( no connection)
And if i want to flash this official rom with munn ruu - file read error( something wrong with .nbf file)

Right,well,as you have done 'HardSPL' your phone and its IPL/SPL is patched to IPl 2.21.0001 and SPL 2.21.olip,right ?
ok,now as you have patched to ipl 2.21.0001 & spl 2.21 olip through 'HardSPL',its not possible to revert back to official rom,untill you remove the 'HardSPL' from your phone and flash the original/official IPL/SPL of your phones carrier Rom bootloaders.After only removing HardSPL and getting the official ipl/spl,it'll will be possible to flash the official wm5 rom,ok
Now,how to remove 'HardSPL', read and follow the method as instructed in the 'Sticky' in the G4 forum by dharvey "How To: Remove HardSPL"
Well,then again,if you want to upgrade to another wm6 rom,you'll have to either again use 'HardSPL' or 'SoftSPL',but,if at all,you want to flash with another wm6 rom,then why first downgrade to wm5,why not straight away flash the rom while with HardSPL still on the phone ?

I have very strange problem with wm6.1 rom that i would like to use, until the new paradox rom will come out. i will try it for sure.
U can read about problem in wm6 subforum in windows Mobile 6.1 slim editon thread.
So do i have any option unless to remove hardspl?

well,if you got a problem with the wm 6.1 slim,then just flash another wm6.1 latest rom e.g by 'it's right' 'TNT 19199 series Professional Rom' as I have personally used it and found it to be an excellent rom,without removing HardSPL and reverting back to official wm5 rom.Just give it a try,I'm pretty sure you'll like it and may sove all your problem,as it'll replace all the rom files of the previous wm6.1 slim rom.

To remove the hardspl u need 2 minutes. I removed it and tried to instalruu_vario_aku3.3_3822_382120_026911_tmo_de_ger_ship
Again once again i get the message from ruu = error file read.
Could somebody open that rom and look for problems.

What could that mean??

I just succesfully instaled ruu_vario_aku3.3_3822_ rom with ruu in the rom` folder. I tried also the T-Mobile MDA Official WM5 Rom (old) with his ruu and it didnt worked. Also softspl didnt work on both roms.

now i flashed wm5 rom aku 3.3 and the ipl/spl changed to 3.08 . Before was 2.26 which i got with instaling ipl/spl pack.
Is that bad for g4 with ipl/spl 3.08 , is it safe to install wm6.1 roms?????

wizard stuck on bootloader

hello.
i had problem with wizard. i tried to upgrade rom, but i cant. it stuck on 99% and gives an error. i think it had cidlock, but i cant unlock it from bootloader.
Please help...

Download official stock rom of your carrier and flash it in bootloaders to recover back to its default working status,then if its a G3 phone, downgrade to ipl/spl 1.xx by flashing Button's Rom and SIM/CID unlock with lokiwiz02b,but if its a G4 ,it cannot be CID unlocked but can be upgraded to wm6 through 'SoftSPL' or 'HardSPL'.

I can update my rom completely but after restart freeze on ipl-spl screen
And I can’t warm reset it says FORMAT PARTITION FAIL
I try to downgrade my rom but spl freeze on 2.17 – I try button rom and Xda_MiniS_LaunchROM_v154102
I can’t find any official qtek rom for test
And I also try R2SD all with romupdate115 it not work
help please

You got to have a CID unlocked phone to upgrade to any wm6 Rom.Sometimes SPL do get stuck up at 2.xx while downgrading with Button's Rom,it takes a couple of tries to get it downgraded to 1.xx.Flash the button's rom a few times more till it gets downgraded.You can only CID unlock your phone,if it has IPL/SPL 1.xx.
Download the official stock Qtek Rom from this link:-

Don't use those ROMs as they are for G4!!!
If flashing original ROM doesn't solve the case then you'll have to buy the unlock program from IMEI-check company.

No. the problem is simply of messed up firmware. I believe that the SPL tries to load the OS but it must be at a different address and never starts to load.
The IMEI-check tool will simply CID unlock your device. You still have to do the "r2sd all" procedure...

ok guys i f***** up my mda gets stuck at second splash screen the one that tells you ipl/spl and stuff
i was flashing a new rom using a prog called shelltool which i got from here as my device isnt cid unlocked i was using this rom

You can always flash back to your MDA stock ROM.
After flashing back, flash to Button's ROM to downgrade your IPL and SPL and unlock your CID. However due to your IPL and SPL is at 3.08, there is a possibility that you can downgrade IPL to 1.01, however SPL stays at 3.08. In that case, try unlock CID using Wizard Service Tool (Actually you can also use WST if both IPL and SPL version are 1.01).
Note: Never use ShellTool ever. There are methods now that use RUU to flash your favorite ROM, both for G3 and G4. You should use those methods instead.

the same thing happened to me when I was very hesitant on cid unlocking my 838 . I use shelltool in flashing and was successful but when i decided to give another shot on a different cooked rom, it certainly did its job on flashing but never got pass on the IPL SPL screen.
then I follow Dr. P's guide (CID unlocking) then I successfully resurrected my 838 and now I can flash whatever cooked rom I want (given that it is for a G3 device)
btw, after flashing my 838 with the buttons rom, I use WST instead of lokiwiz

good to hear that try to look for a rom that will suit your needs. There is a lot of good roms here, just try to search what best fit you.
like I did, i have flashed at least 5 different roms in just a months time
