Hi there.
I got a phone car holder and a car charger to properly use the GPS function (I use i-Go Amigo).
The problem is that the GPS is going a little crazy. It losts its signal, "spins my car" (the arrow in the screen stars to spin), transport me to another (wrong) place in the map, etc.
It doesn't happen all the time and it is usable, but very annoying.
This kind of stuff did not occur when I was using GPS just on the battery (for testing). I can only imagine that the car charger (not original) is interfering someway with the GPS software/signal.
Is it possible? Must I consider buy a original charger or there is no possibility that the charger is doing that?
Thanks!
PS.: Oh, I also use QuickGPS to get signal faster.
Is the charger built into the holder? If so that might interfere with the signal. Otherwise it is more likely to be the holder than the charger causing problems

How can the holder interfere in the GPS signal? Is it because it may be obstructioning the antenna spot?
Gonna test with the charger but without the holder and see how it behaves.

Hey xda team again,
Im looking for a dockingstation for the x1 on my desk. The only thing is it has to be in horizontal format. well, i didnt find any in the net. Does anybody know one? it doestn matter if it has USB doc, i just need something to place it opened on the desk.
Hiya,
at the moment there is no shop with a horizontal docking station
On SE-World.info there's a guide how to build a dockingstation Maybe in one or two months he goues into production.

well ive seen some selfmade variations but they look ugly xD
why dont the build one, i mean there is this great Holder for the car where u have a pivot function and u can even switch from horizontal to vertical etc.
this sucks :-(
I use Brodit holder, in the car as well as in my office.
Brodit have an adaptor (male/female sliding), wich let's you take out Proclip (the part that holds the PDA), from the part that sits in your car.
At the office, I have another female part, glued to a heavy glass photo holder, and slide in the Proclip suport. It works great!!!
Look for part number 213005 (2 females and 1 male), at www.brodit.com
Useful also for anyone driving more than one car.
well thats exactly what i meant. The brodit solution but actually its not the perfect solution.
hopefully they will bring out a REAL docking station soon...
Hi,
I'm upgrading from a Kaiser to an HD2, and would like to know if I can use successfully my "HTC branded car charger for the Kaiser+Mini to MicroUSB adapter" on the HD2 and have good results.
Thanks for the input.
Yes it will work, I'm doing exactly the same thing.
Hey, thanks.
I assume then this works for every Kaiser charger I have? (Sorry for not asking this as well in the first place)

But not every mini-to-micro USB has the same characteristics in handling.
The motorola SKN 6252 forces the screen to switch from portrait to landscape when plugged in to a car charger.

Which of course is a good thing cause it gives you the option to have either of these two modes!!!
Thanks for the answers.
I personally got a 300W inverter for my car instead and use the 240V mains charger in the car...
Hi
I don't know if people realise this but you can modify a generic car charger to automaticlly activate the Navi Panel mode so you don't need to buy the SU400 kit.
You will need a car charger that is capable of suppying 1 amp, to enable fast charging. ( Use an app called Spoon Charge to check) or disassemble the USB Micro A plug and ensure Data- and Data + are soldered together. DO NOT solder Data - and Data + togehter if not already done so this means the device is not capable of supplying 1amp.
If so you should have a unused pin ( this is called the ID pin) solder this along with Data + and Data - to OV.
When the charger is connected it will launch Navi Panle if enabled and turn on bluetooth and pair to a set device.
I will take a pic of the modded plug and post it up. In theory I would assume the same mechanism is used on more than this device.

OMG LEGEND bro. lol. Finally someone figured out HOW to do this so you don't have to buy that overpriced HD2 carkit. Thanks. Mod's this should be a sticky.
mods seriously this should be front page news
Are you sure, that this will work? Did you tried it yourself? Cause my CU-S400 is also activaiting the Navipanel even if i don't have plugged in the Charger! So I think that it hasn't anything to do with the mAh-size of the charging unit....
You're right.
Right connections for recognition Car Kit Mode :

Most probably a hardware issue. You might want to get it to the nearest Samsung Service Center and get the USB Port (or whatever you call it) replaced
I tried to fix the USB port. I teared down my mobile until I got the USB port in my hands and put the pcb under my microscope. I saw a corroded connection from the port to the motherboard. But I don't have a proper solder unit to repair that. So I tried with my big fat soldering iron....and killed one connection. I managed to repair that, so I have the same faulty mobile as before. My next try will be a wireless charging mod (with parts from a palm mobile).
But I bought a spare I9000 already for 50 Euros......
Hello, new here!
Always been stalking around here, decided to finally give in and ask for some help.
(edit; I think this should be relocated to the troubleshooting section, sorry!)
Long story short, I received this tablet because it was broken and no longer turned on.
Ordered a new mainboard and it was still dead.
The battery will not charge with the new mainboard, but will with the old one.
A charged battery will not turn on the old mainboard, but will with the new one.
Here is how I am currently charging it:

The old board is lying ontop of a plastic bag that is ontop of the new board.
Only the battery connector and USB are attached to the old one.
As you can see, it is drawing about 0.41A.
After a while of charging via the old board, I hookup the new board again.
It works, but it slowly drains back down to zero even while plugged in.
It only draws 0.07A in that state.
I tried a new battery as well, but that didn't help.
I have no idea what could be wrong with it, besides getting another dud mainboard.
About ready to give up, but I have invested so much time into this, it would be a shame to do that.
Any ideas about the mystery of why it isn't charging at any descent rate with the new board?
I have tried countless different chargers, the cable and connectors seem fine.
Shameless bump?
