Hey everyone!!
Did anyone manage to connect his HTC Wings via Bluetooth to the PC and Sync it with WMDC?
It works with cable but not Bluetooth (BL).
I appreciate comments.
Thanks

It worked pretty easy on my S730. Make sure you enable BT on the phone and your computer. Pair the PC with the S730 and start ActiveSync on your mobile. Select the option 'Connect via Bluetooth' and that was it (for me).
you seem to be using activesync, however i use windows mobile device center with windows vista x32... so the procedure is different and much more problematic it seems... not just with the s730 but with all wm devices

I use Windows Vista Business (32-bit) and I needed to upgrade Mobile Device Center. It works without any problems afterwards. The only disadvantage is that I need to manually connect on my phone, before it starts synchronizing. I would rather have it syncronized whenever it is near my laptop.
it doesnt work for me. bluetooth is turned on in both devices.
does anyone have any suggestions?
i have the toshiba bluetooth stack software, do you use that too??
I had the same problem. Open you WMDC and go into Mobile Device Settings and select Connection Settings. Under Allow connection to one of the following: change the selection from Bluetooth to COM7.
Then open your device and set up your bluetooth connection again. You should see Activesync now.
You are most likely using the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack instead of WIDCOMM.
IT IS NOT WORKING
AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
this is so STUPID
when i try to set up on my phone then it says "you have no partner for activeysnc, get one?"
i say YES and choose my computer
then i can select a port a one point and i CANT select 7
whats the solution!=?!
From your response I think you are trying to set the COM port on your device but you should be changing it in Windows Mobile Device Center.
I'll go step by step in case I was not clear.
1- Disconnect your Wing from your computer.
2- Open Windows Mobile Device Center
3- The only option should be "Mobile Device Settings"
4- In Mobile Device Settings you should have two option Connection Settings and End a partnership, select Connection Settings.
5- Under the second check box "Allow connection to one of the following" there is a drop-down box which should currently read "Bluetooth". In the drop-down box change that selection to COM7.
Note: If COM7 is not available, then I suggest you uninstall your Bluetooth device drivers and then reinstall them.
6- Close Windows Mobile Device Center
Now return to your device.
Delete any existing Bluetooth connections to your computer. and reestablish your Bluetooth connection. You don't need to change any COM settings on your device. Just establish your connection and you should have the Activesync option once it is reconnected.
This is under the assumption that you are running the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack on your computer. If you are and it doesn't work, I'm all out of ideas.
I should have specified that as of Step 2 above, this is all done on your computer not your smartphone, i.e. HTC Wings.
Your problem with Bluetooth is on the computer not the device, most likely.
this doesnt work... i did all the things like u told me on the computer.
then i go to my phone and try to connect from activesync via bluetooth and it says that no computer with a partnership could be found?? even though i actually made bluetooth partnership with my pc. when i added my pc to my bluetooth devices list on my HTC it told me that my pc supported 2 services: stereo audio and com port. i ticked com port... it doesnt seem to help.
on my pc, when i open the bluetooth stack software from toshiba i can see my phone has a partnership with my pc. but it has a network symbol on it.. is this supposed to be like that? ah this is so frustrating? any suggestions?
The only difference I see between your set up and mine is that I don't have a connection appearing on my computer.
So when you open your Bluetooth Settings on the computer, I don't have a saved connection with my Smartphone. The only place I see a connection between my computer and my device is on the device itself.
So my last suggestion is to delete both connections. The one on your computer and then the one on your device.
Open your device and reestablish a connection from your device to your computer. You will be asked to enter the password on your computer but when you open your Bluetooth Settings, you may not see a saved connection.
Also, go back and make sure that in Windows Mobile Device Centre, the connection is for COM7 and has not reverted back to Bluetooth. What you described has only ever happened on my computer when the connection was not set to COM7.
Something currious happened with my device when I was reestablishing my Bluetooth connection, which may be of interest to you.
I erased my original Bluetooth connection and while reestablishing it my device was also connected to my computer with the USB cable. When I paired the device, there was no option for ActiveSync. I disconnected my device and then started the Bluetooth pairing over and this time ActiveSync was available.
Does this help?
Any of you guys who have sucessfully pairedd WDMC in Vista with S730 over bluetooth use original MS out-of-box bluetooth drivers?
I've only used the Toshiba and Widcomm Bluetooth Stacks and have been able to sync with both on Vista.

there is the problem: "You will be asked to enter the password on your computer but when you open your Bluetooth Settings, you may not see a saved connection."
because as soon as i enter the bluetooth password on my phone and computer, there appears a bluetooth connection in the manager from toshiba. this connection has a "network" symbol and the services offered are com port and stereo audio. thats not much is it? and also when i click "connect" an error comes up.. connection couldnt be established or something.
i hate this. how can be a SIMPLE task so problematic?
toshiba drivers are working fine. send and receive works. and my phone is fine too. the wmdc work fine as well via USB. i also installed the wmdc UPDATE..... wtf right?!
Hey A.Bagatov,
I'm at a complete loss to understand why you can't get WMDC to work with your phone over BT. You've done everything I've done but unlike you I was able toe stablish the connection.
The only other thing I can think of is to download the latest BT drivers from Toshiba. But before you install them, make a copy of the TosBtChk.dll file and once you've completed the installation of your new BT drivers, replace the new TosBtChk.dll with the one you saved. This will stop you from receiving the trial period notification.
If that doesn't work, then maybe replace your Toshiba BT stack with the Widcomm stack. You'll need to locate a version compatible with your computer.
i would like to get widcomm and get rid of the problems.
so where can i get the widcomm stack? and how do i figure out if its compatible with my laptop?
its sony vaio

You have to understand Widcomm is not a free replacement for your MS drivers. Its commercial and it can only be obtained with some BT hardware, not as stanalone product AFAIK. As that, it is a bit complicated to make it work with unsupported device (but quite possible). And where to get it? Generally, if you are able to pirate, you are also able to google.
However, I assume you have legal OS installed on your Sony laptop - why not to tell MS they BT drivers SUCK A BIG TIME? Go tell them its crap that does not EVEN WORK TOGETHER WITH THEIR OWN UTILITIES.

I've also got a Sony Vaio, SZ45, and on the Notebook Review forum, there is a thread that discusses replacing the Toshiba BT stack with Widcomm, which you can get free of charge. The thread offers a modified file which should be sufficient to enable Widcommon your laptop. Here's a link to the general forum http://forum.notebookreview.com/forumdisplay.php?f=8

Microsoft are not the developers of the Widcomm Bluetooth Stack, it's owned by Broadcom. It can be obtained for free, however, you're right in saying it may not work with non-Broadcom hardware. In A.Bagatov's case, the issue is with Toshiba not Microsoft. They are the one's who developed a driver that is not always compatible with non-Toshiba products.
According to other posts I've, the Microsoft generic Bluetooth drivers would appear to work just fine with Windows Mobile devices, however, I was unable to get it working and did not pursue the matter any further once I was able to get the Toshiba BT Stack to function.
I can sympathize with your frustration, but your post does not help him solve his problem.
I can't seem to pair my Touch Diamond with my MacBook Pro running 10.5, they can't see each other via bluetooth at all no matter which side initial the search. I wonder if there is anyone came across the same situation and have a solution or any ideas what may went wrong.
I have tried with the original stock rom and two different cooked rom, still no luck...
which sync software do you use on OS X ... i'm using "the missing sync 4.0.3" ... everything works fine
I just want to pair them with bluetooth and use PAN to use my data connection.
Any idea?
Do you want to use the data connection of your Mac? I only was able to use the data connection of my diamond via Bleutooth-PAN. The other way around seems to have an issue.
I have posted this question also to the discussion forum at apple.
http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=7632465#7632465
About pairing both (Mac and Diamon) this works for me (MBPro OS X 10.5.4). Have you enabled the "visibility" of both devices during pairing?
Hi,
Its possible to use the Diamond as an internet modem with OSX.
I had tried to get this to work for the last couple of weeks.
It really depends on your bluetooth dongle. I had success with Cambridge Silicon based chipsets. I had a Belkin one and another generic one which didn't work.
You need to pair it from within OSX. You'll know its successful when it displays an option for joining bluetooth PAN after pairing. You'll have an option to "Join Network" under the paired device submenu in the OSX Bluetooth menu.
Once its done, all you need to do is start ICS on ur Diamond and select Bluetooth PAN, than Connect. After that, select "Join Network" on ur Mac and off you go!.
You can also connect the diamond to the USB port for power.
I tried USBModem which didnt work.
My laptop is an Acer 5570 hackintosh. Hope this helps.

Probably a stupid question but have you ticked the box on the Diamond that says "Make this device visible to other devices"?
It can be found under Communications - Settings menu - Bluetooth
and it's on the Mode tab.
I want to use my ICS via PAN, and I can't pair my Diamond with my MacBook Pro with bluetooth, they can't see each other no matter which side I initial the search and I am sure both of them have turned on the discoverable option....
I can pair my diamond with my iMac ONLY if I disable TF3D!
I use Eltima SyncMate (epert edition) to sync and it's working great.
Only if I leave TF3D on the driver on the diamond will crash.
Luckely it's quite simple to disable TF3D n a few clicks.
(Start>settings>home>unselect TF3D>[OK])
Eltima has updated their drivers.
It works now:
Syncing (folders, contacts, mail etc etc) while TF3D is running
There are a few solutions available in case you have not already solved the problem:
The free part of SyncMate works well for contacts and calendar and supports internet sharing
http://mac.softpedia.com/progDownload/SyncMate-Download-28111.html
I am running OS X on Dell 1525 with Bluetooth Internet sharing with HTC Diamond, and syncing contacts and calendar with SyncMate with USB Bluetooth as a matter of routine.
I like to sync my Diamond with my Vista-computer and " Center for Windows Mobile devices" through Bluetooth.
I have a working connection with USB already, but want to skip the cable.
I can pair the computer with my Diamond but the only services I get on the Diamond is "wireless stereo" and "serial port".
Been trying to read every instruction on both the bluetooth connection in Vista and on the Diamond but it seems I cant get the service-choice I need to be able to sync my outlook and so on.
Any suggestions on how to get my bluetooth connection working?
Have a look at the link below for links to a pdf download which has an in depth solution to the problem you're having. It's specifically for the Toshiba bluetooth stack and it works if you follow the instructions carefully. If you're not using the Toshiba stack, I think it should still give you sufficient clues to configure the bluetooth ports to work with activesync.

Thanks for the link but when I get to page 11 step 16 in the pdf it says you should get wireless stereo and Active sync. I get wireless stereo and serial port as my choices.
Don´t know if that´s because I use Vista and Center for Windows Mobile Devices (The new version that has replaced Active sync in Vista and that should make it soooooo easy to connect mobile devices instead of Active Sync.
I'm guessing you're using the default Microsoft Bluetooth stack with Vista? If so, ActiveSync should be available when you pair your phone with your PC. If not, check the Services tab for the phone in Vista's BT manager applet, it may need to be ticked in there.
I use BlueTooth with WMDC all the time with my Diamond and it was as simple as pairing then going into ActiveSync on the phone and selecting Connect via Bluetooth.
I´m not sure what bluetooth stack I´m using. I think it´s Toshibas but how can I check that?
I had to install Toshibas application to get the drivers for my bluetooth device and I think a got the stack at the same time.
Is there a way to shift stack if I use Toshibas instead of Vistas default?
Please take a look at the attachement to see my gui for bluetooth, and the Center for MobileDevices (Instead of Active sync) on my Vista machine, and what happens when I connect my Diamond through Bluetooth. Sorry about the language but it tries to install the Diamond as a Bluetooth modem and that´s the only thing I seems to be able to install.
hi guys,
i have a problem concerning the sync of my x1 via bluetooth connection...means that i can establish a bt partnership. but when i hit "connect via bluetooth" in the x1s activesync it says that it cant establish a connection to a activesync-supporting pc. an wheter i want to establish a bt-partership with another device. when i hit yes i can search for another device. when i search a again for a bluetooth fitted device it (of course) shows me my pc.
the weird thing: at first launch of the x1 it worked via bt!!!
I checked the services:
x1: Active Sync is activated...
in bt-settings on my pc: ActiveSync Bluetooth Service is also activated and OBEX. In the windows mobile device center the setting is: allow connections via: bluetooth. I also can choose IR and COM 3.
i tested if bt works by sending a (jpeg)file from the x1 to my pc...this is no problem.
cant figure the problem out. why can i transfer files but not sync via windows mobility center...crazy crazy...hope you can help me!
thanks a lot guys!
trekkie2003
seems like i have this problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-347472.html
i have tried to connect with following settings:
PC:
- Windowsmobility center: allow connections via com6
- bluetoothdriversettings: services "ActiveSync Bluetooth Service" is enabled!!! I also added incoming (serial) com connection on port 6 (com6)
X1 activesync: - services enabled: serial connection. Under COM-Connections there is an outgoing connection on com6...
as you can see no service "activesync" in the service list...but as alreade told the service "serial connection"
the problem still exists and active sync on my x1 gives me that error message:
"cannot find an existing bluetooth partnership with a pc that supports activesync..."
hope for some helpful advice...
greetz
trekkie
after numerous faq and forum post i figured out that the service on the x1 has to be "ActiveSync". it wont work with the "serial connection" service enabled! An in my case a only get the activesync service when i choose "allow connections via: bluetooth" in windowsmobile device center... but problem still exists..."cannot find an existing bluetooth partnership with a pc that supports activesync..."
you should not make the outgoing com on the pda
the guides they have here
http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?ContentId=3163
are still pretty valid seen from the pda's side
or you can google for other guides which step by step explain it on the
vista platform but
your issue is the way you set it up
thx rudegar for your reply and the link...
this was just a try with making an outging port on my pda...there is NO outgoing port added in my pda!!
i only set windowsmobile device center to com3 (allow connections via com3) and the incoming port of the pcs' btstack to com3...checked services on pda and pc...on both sides "active sync" is enabled! but problem still exists...
as my problem unfortunately isnt solved...to make sure nothing is interfering with bt stuff on vista i rebooted my pc. rechecked all settings. WMDC automatically reset the connection to Bluetooth! i changed it again to com3 as my btstack incoming port is also port 3.
i took a screenshot of the settings on my pc...(settingspc.jpg, see attachment)...
as i dont know how to make screenshots of my pda i can only tell you the settings of my pda....so i continued on my pda: active sync=> connect via bt => "error message: cannot find an existing bluetooth partnership with a pc that supports activesync..." => adding my pc to bt devices =>checking services on pda: only serial connection service...re-checked the services on pc... activesync is enabled (as you can see in the image)...
wmdc resets the connection settings to bt on every windows startup to bt!!! i downloaded a guide from toshiba für vista @winmo6. I did it exacetly the way they went through it like me!
btw. tried it also again with com6...but...no way... im starting to get really anoying about this...
I never had any problems with any of my WM 6-6.1 devices on my Vista64 system.. I have bluetooth in "Allow connections to one of the following" selection. No serial ports needed in WM device or in Vista...
But Before you sync, open the Windows Mobile Device Center on your Vista Computer!!!
Now open Activesync in your X1. Then just choose connect by bluetooth in WM Activesync App!!
Good Luck
Stuart
thats the way it worked at first launch!! just activated bt and here we go...no need chang com ports... maybe i should hard reset the x1 but i hate to re-install all programms i have on my device again as PIMbackup only saves contacts, calendar but not installed progams...
Hi
please can somebody explain to me how to connect my x1 via bt
I read many threads and still have a problem
I'm using windows XP SP3
thank you bye
my solution
I'm using ActiveSync over BT (R10 rom, Vista Laptop) but not really without problems...
For the 1st connection X1 never get's connected to Lappi. My Solution:
Make BT on Local Maschine unvisible, then again visible and after that on X1 -> ActiveSync -> Connect over BT.
What I don't like at all, ist that my BT on Laptop has to be visible:/ and compared to Nokia N95 (how there is working BT synch) the ActiveSync on WM6.1 is really crap.
Hope it can help you.
Best,
Mag
I did that but my X1 show me massege that cannot find partnership and I'm sure I have partnership
I use the COM method but I don't know how to select incoming port in my X1 I have only outgoing port
any idea please
same
I had same problem till 1 Week ago. I could not get rid of this message... finally I've flashed my X1 to the latest R10 ROM. Till now it works.
BTW: The R10 Rom is really the fastest I've ever tried on my Xperia (mp4 Videos without played without freezes and lauder music/tones). Maybe it is worth for you to do the upgrade too.
Best,
Mag
Quick reply without reading all your details, but maybe this will help.

R10 rom ?
from where you get R10 room
the lastest rom is available for X1 is R2 !
can you explain please
thank you bye
With R10 i ment R2AA010 ROM (010). It is really good, the best I've had since I have my X1.
forgot... I you can find them here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=475482
Thank you for help
I was don't know about new ROM
I upgrade my X1 to new ROM
but I'm still have the problem
I had the same problem with broadcom bluetooth. I downloaded new driver for my PC, upgraded, and after that I saw "activesync" service in my bluetooth services. I set COM (COM6) and synchro works fine now
Try to upgrade PC drivers.
So i have installed Athine lite, PDACornerUltimate.V17, and HyperDragon IV. Athine lite and PDA v17 are both based on WM 6.5 and i can not get WM remote desktop to work it just hangs @ connecting with no error messages. Hyperdragon based on 6.1, RD works just fine.
Any1 have a solution to get this working on v6.5? i have installed Mocha Remote Client and Terminal Services 2002 and both of those work just fine on WM6.5, but i really want to be able to map my device to the machine.
im currently running Athine lite as its fast and clean.
would you mind explaining how you got it to work the first time? im a little confused about the domain and ip address and such
so what is no one having a problem with this?
same problem here, just sitting on connect...
And there's no traffic since HSDPA doesn't kick in (switching between H and 3G symbol).
I've been trying Anryl's latest ROM's. 21202 rev 8 or 9 had RDP as part of the ROM at that connected ok.
I've just upgraded to his 21500 rev 5 and RDP is not embedded so installed from the .cab I used with WM6.1 and I get the hang at 'connecting' problem.
Don't really want to downgrade but may have to...
Same here. It worked with 6.1 but I install the same cab on 6.5 (Tai BlueCalm ROM) and it just hangs when trying to connect. I can't figure it out.
I found this link in XDA Developers and it works now for WM6.5.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3592033
Was anyone able to establish a connection with this version of rdp 6.5? I only get connection errors when I try to connect to my Vista SP 2 System (works from any Windows XP and Vista device, so its no issue with my pc).

Yes you can with an ad-hoc connection. You'll have to google it though, as no one can tell you the exact details for your network as you will have to use an internal IP address. Start by googling how to use the "ipconfig" command in dos, as that's a good way to find out internal addresses quickly.
Start here:

Thanx for reply stuntdouble but i need some more info regarding the same.

4. I have installed Network access from HTC but it also dont show any computer in LAN conected while connected on adhoc.
please reply if this could be sorted.
thanx in advance.
Sounds like there's a firewall blocking the connection on your pc.
