hey everyone,
i have been searching for a software which allows to watch famous tv channels via streaming on the wings.
can anyone recommend a software for streaming movies/tv etc?
and yes, i have unlimited dataplan
thanks
You should be able to go to the networks web sites and stream their show's off of their own site. The phone has a built in streaming player, works pretty well. There are some other players people have posted about on here that work just as good if not better.
As to software that allows you access to the programs that I do not think you will find. All other networks that have access to TV do it through their network, so you launch the TV program on the phone and it connects to their server where its all located. Some Verizon phones here have an antenna to pick OTA channels but quality as you can guess is low
Best bet like I said is to either download them and watch them on your phone or to stream them from the network web sites....
Unless someone knows something I do not, which happens all the time...
dude wtf is it with u
dont u know pocketstreamer deluxe??? it has everything u talked about as "non-existent".
HOWEVER, i dont like pocketstreamer as the links are mostly broken and invalid/the list tv streams is very limited. im looking for an alternative....
thanks

My point exactly, its not as good as what you can get from other providers included with your plan, or from just downloading / streaming them off the net for the same low price of your data plan / storage card size
I dont know of anything worth using that could compair to what I mentioned above, if someone know's a good one thats exilent and I would be interested in knowing too.
I do know of zoovision which has some fun old movies to stream and other stuff but thats not the latest stuff.
I think the softwares to watch TV are dead now. Especially because now you can watch TV directly online in some website like http://www.inner-live.com
This one looks nice:

This is a thread about streaming video, there's a few theme threads around this forum, a search for those would yield a good place to ask.
As to your question the iPhones screen is rather large compaird to how small ours is so you wont get many icons on it, and you will have to navigate through them with the D-Pad which you might not like. That said back when this phone first came out a few people were talking about some but never really got them to function properly.
Now you can imitate aspects of the iPhone such as this but that one is just generic.
does it mean that when you install spb dat it will take over everything or is it just a program dat je can run
Try this one Mobile Online TVx.

Right, im off to silverstone this weekend but got a quick F1 related WM question.
For other races this season I've watched the times during the testing and qualifying off the formula1.com site and for the testing ive watched the live tv stream from ITV.com.
Now obviously as im there this could be an issue as im not taking my laptop with me so wondered if theres anyway of viewing these streams/times on my VarioII?
Anyone ever tried this as im doubting pocket internet explorer will do the job :S
Here's a freeware called F1 Mobile Season 2008, it gives you pretty good info on the circuits, drivers, time etc...
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-f1-mobile-season-2008-v3-03.html
Streaming F1 on my phone... boy would i love that
I was there for the test session last week, watch out for those die hard Button fans...
hmm just found out that http://www.itv-f1.com/VideoLive.aspx is the url for ITV's live stream but cant see that that will work on PIE... dont think im that lucky lol
GO LOUIS!!!!
You might try feeding that ASPX file to CorePlayer and see if it works. Unfortunately there is no trial for it. I had been using Coreplayer to stream video from my Windows Media Center and it worked OK. I really needed HDSPA for it to stream well tho.
I've had great luck with my Slingbox and my Kaiser. Managed to watch the last couple of holes at the US Open from my desk and was VERY popular with my co-workers, LOL.
The beauty of Slingbox is that the content is from your own cable or satellite service that you already paid for. So for your lucky Europeans with the high tech F1 coverage, it'll be just like you're watching at home. No subscriptions, just ~$150 USD for the box and ~$30 for the Pocket PC player.

You can now stream video straight from your phone to the internet. Search for qik in the marketplace. This is the same video streaming app that is available on the iphone and it works like a charm. I dont think there is sound though, just images, anyone willing to check it out, im at work
Played with it some.. There is audio. Video quality is decent, speed is poor. Stuttered and stalled often too (streaming via WiFi to Qik, PC I was viewing on was wired to a different broadband connection and both links should have had more than enough bandwidth).
Looks fun - will try again in a few days, hopefully it's just bogged down today since it was just released to a new platform.
Oh, and lag ... I haven't used many webcam / streaming apps, but I had the impression they went faster than this usually.. Shortest lag was 10-15 seconds, typically the stream ran more like 30 - 90 sec behind. Again, looked cool enough that I'll give it a few days or so and try again.
testing it now......
Damn it i cant find it on the market.

Thanx that did it. I wonder why sometimes new apps are not bumped to the top on the by date tab, we might be missing out on some great apps.

Noone is being ungrateful. Someone offered a review of the app, just like anyone else would, unless you want to provide one yourself and sound like you're riding someones nutsack rather than giving a review. But that's just my opinion, just like you have yours. Good day

I'm very grateful for this free app. Better? Seriously, I wasn't trashing it - just giving honest feedback. And if you'd read it again, you see I'm making excuses for most of the bad things about the app (newly released to Android, their servers may have been busy -- plus it may need optimization).
Anyway, yeah - I know it's a phone. But it's got more horsepower and RAM than the first few PCs I owned, combined -- so I know firsthand there's enough power in this thing to do some awesome stuff. I get excited when I see an app like Qik that tries to push the envelope a bit. I hope they do get it optimized and working better.
Not sure if anyone else noticed, or is excited like I am, but MLB At Bat is now on the market. Royals fan here. It's $14.99, so a little steep but we will see how long I can hold out from buying it. Just wanted to bring this to anyones attention who might be excited as me. Go Royals, where staying out of last place is a success.
Question to anyone who has bought.
This obviously is the "app" which I presume MLB has has built in "Gameday Audio" of some sort (which you can buy online at mlb.tv for the season.) Does anyone know if you can use your gmail and then sign in via a web browser on a computer to use, if you were say at a computer instead of your phone?...

KC Native here man, hell yea, someone make a summary and tell us if it is worth it.
I can't see it being worth $15. I can just go to the mobile site and get all the information I need for free. The game audio is a cool feature but if I'm not home to watch the game chances are wherever I am I can't listen to it.
Last years beta was the ****. I listened to the WS while on the road (Phils & Yanks fan here, so I was torn the entire series). Sure you can get all the stats & whatnot on a PC, but if you're not at your PC, the app was well worth it.
Unfortunately, the $14.99 price tag is WAY too steep for this. Although you can listen to the games, if your phone goes to sleep, or if you get a text, or do anything that pulls you away from the app, the stream stops & you have to re-initialize. PITA when you're multi-tasking on your device.
Now if they cut a cool $10 off the price, I'd consider it. I'd consider it even more if that $4.99 price tag gave me free updates of the app every year. Here's a question though (and I'm going to try this myself): If anyone still has the beta, have you tried installing it to see if it still works? If it does, what makes MLB think I'm gonna pay them $14.99 for an app I got for free, FROM THEM?!
Just a thought...
I have this app, only worth the $15 if your a hardcore baseball fan. Everything seems to work a lot smoother then last years beta though.

I don't have last years beta anymore but I would be shocked if it worked. The app is called At Bat 2010. They fully intend to make sure it does not work next season. Last year's probably can't get to this season's schedule.
I bought it because I'll be able to use it at work where I can't pick up AM radio and have no android slingbox app. It sucks that iphone gets live video and the others don't. I wouldn't use the live video much since they blackout the local games, but that would at least justify the price. The video highlights are good quality. Much better than what I saw of the NBA app.

I have last year's Beta. When you load it, only works up until the last game of the WS last year and sometimes the winter league games pop up but the beta is useless.

This app is awesome and worth the time installing it. Get all the games with the push of a button, including audio, stats and video highlights after the game. Well worth the investment IMO
In the quest for the ultimate device, CM gets pretty close. A bunch of people on the CM forums are chiming in with donations for working TV-out for the Incredible, and I wanted to cross-post it here to hopefully garner some more attention and interest.
The goal here is to have working TV out without compromising any other main functionality (like Bluetooth on Sense ROMs).
Not sure if it's possible at all, but if I can attach my phone to my TV and play SNES with my kids using Wiimotes, I will chip in my $20 bucks, and a bunch of other people will too.
The donation count was up to 160 bucks on CM forums as of the time of this post, and I have 3 friends that will chip in as well.
If it happened, I'd donate. CM already deserves donations, but this would up the amount for sure.
Dude thats sick you can get SNES games on the Incredible than (if) this gets fixed hook it to the TV and play it on the TV using wiimotes... can you use xbox remotes instead, you say that it can be done on sense but you loose bluetooth, so can I hook it to the tv on sense and use a wiimote? or xbox remote if works cos thats what i have lol
i'd chip in if that happens (and before i jump ship and get an Incredible HD lol), absolutely

I'm pretty sure tv out works on other (sense-less) roms, it's just a cyanogenmod issue. Use a different rom & it should work. I know nothing about video game systems past the ps1, so does the xbox 360 have bluetooth controllers? If it does, there should be an app on the market for it.

The Xbox 360 controllers work via radio, not bluetooth. Just an FYI.

Why not just get SNES9x for PC and hook up your pc to the tv via HDMI, use a bluetooth dongle to connect the wiimote to the pc for a controller and there you go. Thats what I do

thats what i do too, the bluetooth dongle was $2 on amazon and everything else was already in place for me.
I would also chip in $20! It is the only thing that I really miss of HTC Sense.
Bluetooth is required to connect the Wiimote to the phone. The Bluetooth stack on sense roms is a piece of crap and doesn't allow modern protocols.
As for the computer thing, I want to be able to do this in the car, at a friends, or anywhere that doesn't involve lugging around a computer. That's why I have a smartphone.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
From what I read they had to reverse engineer the entire HDMI stack to get HDMI working on the EVO -- I'm guessing they'd have to do the same to get TV-OUT working on the the DInc? Heh... or we could all save up cuz the DInc HD is alleged to be "revealed" on Jan 6th. A device that basically looks like a VzW EVO. ;P
But seriously... I'd give it a go and even help if we had source code. But I don't think you get source code when you reverse engineer...
+1 on this. There's got to be some way to get both bluetooth and TV out functioning on the same rom. The wiimote+tv out idea is pretty much the reason I got the incredible when it came out, only to discover that its now been nearly a year with no solution to this!
I may have to buy a TV-out cable and see if I can get some extra money! LOL!
Go for it!!! (connect 4!!)
I will throw $50 into the pot for whoever gets this working. I know Netflix is not here yet, but I got the DInc so that once it did, I could stream to my TVs, specifically the one in my car.

This donation to make a rom/tweak **** is getting insane. As far as Netflix, they say Android is too insecure of a platform, however a new phone that was just showcased had a NetFlix app icon on the homescreen. Hmmmm.....

I dunno if it's insane so much as it is a small minority of people realizing what it's gonna take to motivate those with the skill to solve the issue. Realistically, I'd bet thousands of people have an incredible in their pockets and don't even know it can do TV out, and will never try even if you told them. Verizon certainly doesn't make much noise about the feature!
And even those of us that are savvy enough to know, might never use it enough to care. How many of us are running CM6.1 right now without feeling any loss of function? Dare I say, enough people that the entire process of making CM run on an incredible went through to the point of being called "stable" without even a hint of that feature being available. I know Im running it....even though I want TV out real bad.
Theres so little steam for this, that unless we can literally "fund" the R&D to make it happen ourselves, it might just disappear as newer phones come out and development stops on the older ones. I remember in april last year being amazed that I had a phone that ran @ 1GHz. I mean, seriously. One [email protected]#$^$& gigahertz. And now, we're *****ing about the thunderbolt because it doesn't have dual cores in it! I can't recall a single year in phones where these kinds of leaps and bounds have been so constant.
The whole world of software is a strange parallel to the music industry, wherein it used to be a giant divide between "local band" and "warner bros gold record". Then we had the internet, and an entire underground revolution took place where artists on the ground level could again get their music to the masses, and since most of the middlemen were removed, it again became possible for the idea of a "modest" living on music to be made. The 10 bucks that someone pays for a vynal is going mostly to the artist, where the 25 you'd spend on a major CD might reach the artist as only 2 dollars. The artist wins, the listeners win, and the same kids who were "sticking it to the man" by downloading major releases turn around and trumpet the virtues of "support your favorite bands!!"
This whole world of phone tweaking is almost like that - for years we were lucky if a company made an app for something, and if they didn't, well, a lot of times it didn't get made. Sure, some people developed for WM, but based strictly on popularity of the platform, I couldn't do half of what I can with my android, even though there isn't a huge difference in hardware. It was also much more difficult to find the guys who made these programs - some of them were made in the 90's and just stayed part of the WM continuum for years after they should have been replaced.
Now we have a whole community based on this android os, and it feels like a lot of the middleman has been cut out of the equation - the "audience" can directly reach the "artist", and through that direct connection, can much more easily justify paying for the efforts made. It's hard to pay 60 bucks for a windows mobile app for GPS, for example, knowing that the developer at the end will see only a few cents of that. But when the price on the google market is only 5 bucks for an app, and you know a large percentage of that is going directly to the guy who put in his time and effort to make the program, it's much easier to swallow that.
When someone writes a program, Torque is a great example, that helps me, I'm willing to give the DEV some funding for it, just like I'm willing to pay for tickets to see a local show.
It's a sort of "golden age of software" that I think many have been waiting for, almost as if we get the virtues of "mom and pop shop" service, with the Walmart pricing we've come to depend on as a society.
Hell, I paid 15 bucks for the cable to make TV out function. After what I've paid for accessories for this phone, and considering I intend to keep it till t breaks, I'm certainly willing to contribute to the guy who finally gets the TV out running like it should. If I was a capable software dev, I'd do it myself. But, I'm not. I am however a mechanic, computer systems admin, musician, live sound engineer, and multitude of other things. And when someone asks for me to solve an issue in one of those areas, well, it's certainly nice to make a little scratch on it!
Sorry about the long rant, I'm drunk. And feverishly hoping someone makes this happen! Last trip I took was 12k miles of driving with no real map, in an overheating van, forgot the CD book at home, with a bunch of guys in the back begging for internet access, and we never ever had a hotel lined up before arriving at a destination. And my phone helped solve 100% of these problems, over and over again. Now if only I could get street fighter on the hotel TV from my phone (and hand a wii controller to my opponent), I could die a happy man!
Nothing but real talk man ^
Count me in for 20
