Hello!
I am new on this forum and also new at upgrading. My problem is: I would like to buy Trinity phone with german language and then I would like to upgrade it to english language. Phone won't be lock to any mobile operator.
Will I have problem with upgrade and whitch version of ROM should I use? For now I just want that I will have english version and it isn't necessary that GPS is activated. With GPS I will play later.

It is possible. In fact I had a german HTC Rom and updated to WWE (World Wide English) for GPS. Now using english Rom wasnt as easy as I thought because I got a non german keyboard and non german Transcriber and dictionaries ... etc

I readed some posts about upgrading ROM. If I understood right I should use SSPL flashing tool for upgrading, am I right (because original language is german)?

how to change the english language on the mteor to dutch? i have a htc mteor, and i assume this one is cidlock free. i tried to download an dutch htc mteor rom from the website, but none of the links work on the htc website. so i cannot find a dutch rom. i only want to change the language (os) from english to dutch...
any help is appreciated.

what i meant (or should have written down), is that the os on my mteor is english. thus having a WWE rom on it. what i want, is the Dutch rom on it. so i need to flash it with the dutch rom. for that i need a dutch originally shipped mteor rom. at least, i believe that i can reflash it on my mteor without getting the wrong vendor id / country error (thus hoping that the mteor is cidlock free!!)

you are right!!! i assumed i had to reflash the os to get the dutch language like one has to do with the qtek 9100 etc. but you are right, in the preferences you can change the language...
thanx for your reply, as you might have guessed... this is my first smartphone in a line of many other smartphones like the mda compact 1 to 3, htc wizard, tytn.....
so i wasn't quite familiar with the option to change the language inside the european rom itself

there was a MS 6.5 SDK released with several language support..
Some time ago Da_G released a whole bunch of lang packages for WM6.5, unfortunately they were all corrupted.
At the moment waiting for Da_G or someone else to release non-corrupted ones.

Yes, they cannot be used as an install by cab / copy paste after ROM flash
Da_G announced that he is working on updated language packs which are not corrupted.

Well...can explain how it works, but you still will not be able to build a ROM with the corrupted language pack.
So be patient and when there is a non corrupted danish language pack I will help you build a ROM with it.

What do you mean when you say "start from original rom"
My plan was to put the german Sys Files in my kitchen with my already finished OEM Folder (only Kovsky Stuff) and build a rom

yes, it works. just dump the image and copy the 407 folders from sys. i'm running 21725, with the german files, without any major problems.

but what about the german OEM ??
XIP can stay WWE
SYS can say WWE (with localization packages transplanted)
But the OEM ??
I've had some problems when trying to port the spanish XIP
I tried to build a rom with german sys, wwe rom/xip and german oem (based on jerpeleas old ger 19608 kitchen) for testing yesterday - the x1 didn't boot so now i'm looking for a german xip/oem...
Just copy the 407 folders from the dumped SYS Folder into the desired english SYS folder.
You can forget the OEM folders of the emulator dump. Use the OEM files from R3AA.
However, I am working on 21806 right now and might release the ROM along with the SYS folder later this evening.

It's preffered not to translate, you can run in to all kinds of problems but it is possible. If I where you I look up a french rom and one (same build als your french) WWE on the Rhodium Rom develoment board en extract both and putt them back to gether. There is only lots of reading for you to do before you can make this work but it is not that hard.

Depends on what you use butt I got this working cab that worked with the default keyboard and autocompletion
Hi, thanks for the cab but it doesn't work. I use the default Touch Input for pocket PC from HTC. I have flashed NRGz28's ENERGY ROM win 6.5 / manilla 2.1.
No that doen't work than it is for the default windows keyboard. Have you tried search the board? Mostly it is just adding a file

iam a german guy and i want to cook a german rom 6.5. i have tried many english roms, but of course, german ist my favourite language.
could anybody give me a hint, what is the difficulty for a german rom and how to manage it? Iam new in cooking, but iam sure that i can learn it.

well i think the best way is to download a German Offiical rom & use it
There is no german ROM 6.5 for HTC OPAL
