Opera Mini 4 Beta 3 is out.

Looks like some great new improvements.
See here.
And it is now saving cookies. I was fed up by entering passwords / usernames each time I visted a site requiring log in.
Hope this time around cookies keep working because they initially did for the beta 2 but after some time it stopped saving cookies.
Opera is a nice alternative to PIE, but has anyone tested Mozila's lightweight minimo http://www.mozilla.org/projects/minimo/ ?
I downloaded it and a few sites tested were great. It has a pretty simple interface and lacks of course many of the options, but is quick.. and free
Make sure that if you updated your selector.utf file for the previous beta (no nags about net access) that you need to do it again.

minimo seems to run slow on my TYTN II. just did a install, tested it on a local website, and uninstalled it immediately
You should read the "Browser Bible" posted in the General forum. It is a very detailed and updated comparo of all the WM available browsers. It includes MiniMo, Picsel, PIE Plus, Opera Mobile, Opera Mini, etc.
And FYI, it doesn't recommend Minimo...
yes... after further testing... minimo is not yet there.... back to Opera
I note that while entering text in Text-Boxes like replying to this thread if the text is longer than a number lines then when you hit the okay button Opera Mini closes itself. No problem if the text is just a few lines long.

Opera Mobile 9.5 and Google Reader (iPhone page)

I am currently running Opera Mobile 9.5 build 1184 QVGA. Whenever I go to www.google.com/reader/i I just get a blank page.
I had a version of Opera Mobile 9.5 previously that let the iPhone google reader page work but I don't know which version it was.
I assume some settings would allow the page to render but I'm not sure which ones. Anyone have luck with this?
FIXED: Go to opera:config and set your User Agent to IE. This now works for me without changing roms.
Also running build 1184 and it's working for me. I am running L26's V8 light rom.
PM
Hmmm, that's odd. Have you made any customizations to the settings? I'm just running a stock install of 9.5.
Rom is in my sig.
Ok, so if I set it to Mobile View in the Display Settings it displays some of the header and footer of the iphone google reader page but many things are out of line and I don't get any of the stories.
Once back in non-mobile mode I still get the blank white page.
Try installing the version of java in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2313736&postcount=305 Do a soft reset after and see if that gets it running right for you. I had some opera mini problems until I did just that.
Same here for Gmail page on google Using Duttys v2
I had just installed same version of opera and have same results you have
using Duttys april 29 v2 cube

The issue is with Opera Mobile 9.5 not Opera Mini. I do use Opera Mini as well but have no problems. Thanks anyway.
It's a shame because this ROM is so good I don't want to switch just for a nice GReader page I am now remembering that when this did work for me I was on CUSTEL 2.1 WM6 rom.
Fixed: check first post
I fixed my issue and updated post #1

Thanks for that.... I knew I'd find the answer with a bit of digging and reading.
RSS Hub is the nicest free RSS reader around! I used to use google reader but switched over to RSS hub, you should search for it on here and try it out. That way you don't have to switch ROM's.

Opera Mobile 9.5 screen freeze

Hi there
Running a Tytn II with RomEOS 4.21 rom
Having real problems with getting opera mobile to work.
I've searched through threads and checked my INI file and registry settings and they all seem fine.
I've also tried to run Opera Mobile with an altered skin since i thought that might be causing problems.
I've tried pretty much all build distributions of Opera Mobile 9.5 including the official version but pretty much the same issue.
im currently trying the latest Omni release build 1957 WWE (no dice ( )
I get the Opera Mobile loading screen popping up the little loading bar does a bit of left and right, the URL bar appears and the screen freezes, with the loading screen and a disjointed URL bar at the top of the screen.
The only other freeze i got was with earlier versions of Opera Mobile where the screen corrupted and froze.
All only back-trackable via a soft reset.
Would love some help since i cant find a fix in the threads i searched.
Hi, new here to the boards, been using my Tilt for a year.
I updated to WM 6.1 and Opera 9.5 was doing the same thing on a fresh WM6.1 install.
I ended up going back to Opera 8.65, and it works fine on WM 6.1.
Remember 9.5 is still in beta, and I tend to avoid things like that on my Tilt since I use it for business.

Opera doesn't connect as well as PIE

Greetings. Using Opera 9.5 build 2392 and pocket internet explorer, WM 6.1. Standard ROM that came with the device, clean "no bloatware" boot. 3g with HSPDMA (?) enabled.
Why doesn't Opera work as well as PIE at connecting to sites? Especially the "media net home" page device.home. I can't hit that at all with Opera, only with PIE.
I've tried the "enable/disable cingular proxy" cabs but it didn't change anything, after enabling or disabling.
Thanks for any help, I've searched but have not seen this particular item addressed.
I have Opera 8.65 beta with flash support on my Tilt, and it literally SUCKS!!! A waste of $24. What it takes Opera to open a website, PIE can get it in less than half the time. Advice: DO NOT MAKE OPERA A DEFAULT BROWSER!

Default Opera version

Hi,
I recently installed an updated Opera version on my Touch Pro, but it doesn't work perfectly together with the TouchFlo3D interface. And since I can't uninstall the new version, I want to try installing the original version.
Does anyone knows which version this was? I have the original WWE windows mobile 6.1 ROM.
Thanks a lot !
Not sure which is the "default" version but there are several versioins out there that are specifically for HTC devices which are needed for full compatibility with touchflo (specifically push internet pages).
My push internet wasn't working and afer i did i search i found out that i needed one of the versions for HTC devices and currently i'm using 9.5 build 16277 which has no problems working with TouchFlo

Tried that one, but with no luck
The problem is that it doesn't show in the taskmanager. So when i press the home key for example, opera minimizes, but doesn't show up in the task manager. And that bothers me.
Or is there a way to get it to show up in the task manager?
Thanks !
