Problem with call waiting - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

The Problem:
Since the first time I flashed a custom rom (approx. 2 yrs ago) I cannot use call waiting on my phone. When I am on one call and someone else calls, I get the call waiting beep. If I press answer, it quits beeping but does not switch to the second call. From here all I can do is end the call with the current person and then it switches to the second call
I have flashed >10 different roms so I'm sure it isn't a problem with any of them
I have AT&T service on an AT&T Tilt and live in Louisiana
btw, I have tried messing with service options on the phone but nothing made any difference

radio

hi all
seem to have a problem with my vario 3... i cant recieve incoming calls unless ive made an outgoing call... and i always have to make an outgoing call twice to get it to connect...
been having this prob since thursday, so was trying various radios and even some new roms... but i cant resolve this issue
any suggestions...
for now I am on DCSv1.7 and the reccomended UK radio... the prob started on the Vista rom which was flawless until this happened... and i have tried every 6.1 radio out there...
cant help but think the vario has developed a fault
cheers
no-one got any suggestions?
i've just reloaded the stock tmobile rom and same problem. when i first try to call out, the call drops, but the 2nd time it works...
when i try to call my phone i get a "phone not available" message, then if i try again it works...
i shudder to think of the missed calls i'm getting and not knowing about...
Whats your radio, what version of WM do you have and its probably your area.
at the moment, and i've tried nearly all 6.0 and 6.1 roms, but Sleuth1.2 and 1.27.12.32, but again have tried many (obviously 6.0 with 6.0 etc )
its not my area, as never had this happen before in this area... i have full signal...
spoke to tmob, they said its a known fault and to set the band to GSM, which, it appears has fixed this issue... but i no longer seem to get 3G or HSPDA etc
what i dont get is why has this happend after 6 months of flawless stock rom usage, and 3 months of cooked rom usage? tis all a bit random...
but i guess its fixed for now, just means ive lost high speed data

# Rings Incoming Calls

Hi,
I have a CDMA Touch from Telus Mobility in Canada.
The issue I am having is # rings with incoming calls.
I am using latest Jawbone Bluetooth headset, when I have an incoming call, I receive 2 rings and calls goes to voice mail.
I have called HTC Support and Telus support, they have no solution.
Is there a setting to modify the number of rings for incoming calls?
dave3211
If you're talking about the number of rings before the voicemail kicks in, yes there is a solution if your phone number is in Alberta or BC.
I dont know what Alberta or BC is...
but on my phone i do it like this...
Start->Settings->click phone->'Services(dono if it's called this, second tab)
There is a list, in that list there should be (again, dono the english word) 'forward to'
click Get Settings...
now u can set the number of secunds before it connects the call to voicemail..
with the intervals 5,10,15,20,25,30 seconds (at least with my phone provider)
hope this helps
thanks nisse thats very helpfull.
by the way forward to is call forwarding.
Excellent!!

3 rings delay in incoming call
Hi,
This might be due to another related issue:
There is delay of 3 rings before the diamond actually starts ringing.
i.e, after the caller has heard 3 rings, only then the diamond starts ringing, and by the time you pick the call, there will be many rings and it will go to answer phone as usual.
As soon as there is an incoming call, the light starts blinking. But there is a delay in the ringer/vibrate. You can try this out by calling from another phone.
This might be cause for your issue.
I too am having the same problem, and I'm searching for a solution. Maybe some cab which fixes the 3 rings dealy in incoming call... I'm sure there must be some such cab. Still going through the threads in the forum.
Could anybody please point us to a fix if you know...
Thks,
Sandeep
I've got the same problem on my touch pro..
It's even worse actually - I'm experimenting, but it seems like half the time the phone *never rings* when wifi is on and if it's asleep...
What the???

I think that he's referring to the 3 second delay built into most phones. On earlier devices this was fixed by changing the polling time in the phone programming. (often referred to as the Slot Cycle Index). I haven't tried it on my Diamond as I haven't noticed that much of a lag.
Since I was thinking about it, I decided to try. I changed my SCI from 2 to 0.
I did look and found that I don't have that "Forward to" option in my phone settings. Probably a provider change.

Power management bug(?) in 2.03 ROMs block incoming calls !?

Hello all,
I installed the official 2.03.404.2 NLD ROM on my HTC Touch Diamond.
(Radio version is 1.09.25.23). I didn't use the backup utility to restore my settings afterward, instead I installed my few applications by hand again.
I configured the phone to only use GSM, both to conserve power and costs (I have wifi both at home and in the office).
However, with this new ROM, often the phone becomes unresponsive to incoming calls. It happens often after the power management puts the phone to sleep whilst I have an active wi-fi connection using Opera.
People who try to call me then get my mailbox, even though the phone is ON and everything looks normal on the display. Crazy enough, the Diamond itself can make phone calls without problems, and then I'm immediately flooded with text messages from my provider telling me there are messages on my mailbox.
I now make dummy phone calls several times daily just to be sure the phone remains logged into the network, but this really sucks. Does anyone else experience this?
what network are you using?
T-mobile NL over GSM.
But the problem coincides with the installation of the new ROM.
I have exactly the same ROM / same Radio / same provider (T-Mobile NLD) as you have, and I don't have this problem (at least, not that I know off). I also have the phone in GSM mode almost always instead of 3G mode. So I think it's not a bug in the rom. However, there is already a newer rom available than the one we have, so maybe you could try upgrading to the latest?
I have ROM version: 1.93.720.2 WWE (Radio version: 1.00.25.07) on my HTC Diamond. I have never modified or upgraded my ROM. I face a similar kinda problem as yours. The only difference is that it happens once in a day and that too early morning. So I have to make a call to any no. to wake my phone up. This sounds funny but yeah I m facing this problem. Is it bcos of ROM version? Whats the latest ROM version for HTC Diamond? How can I update it? If I update ROM will I lose all my data. Please hlp I m new to this.
I m from India and using AIRTEL network over GSM.
@Suchit_g:
Early in the morning, you mean shortly
after pulling out the charger cable?
Sounds like a power management prob.
@Drazix: Thanks for the info about
the new ROM, I will try it out.
Hmm bobokonijn
Even I thought so but this happens even if my phone is not charging. I charge my phone once in two days but this happens almost every morning. The 1st call of the day should be made by me. If I fail to call, my callers get the unavailability message even if my phone is on and showing network signal bars. My phone starts working only and only if I use network (either call someone or use GPRS) for the 1st time in the morning and then for the rest of the day my phone works without any problems. Hope someone can help me out with this?

Strange 'Call Ended' and connectivity issues

I have been using a Dutty 6.1 ROM for over a year and had no issues. On a trip thru Ohio (I live in Utah) last month my phone locked up and forced a hard reset. For the remainder of the trip my phone had no call volume which I assumed was a radio issue in the new area. When I got home the sound worked again but a new issue arose. Half of the time I would place a call the phone would pause a few seconds and then immediately 'Call Ended' me without dialing. A lot of incoming calls also would go straight to voicemail without ringing. All of this with full signal bars.
I flashed back to the official AT&T Rom/Radio straight from their site and the conditions still exist. Any ideas?
I have the same problem, I've been using my kaiser for over more than 1 year perfectly, suddenly the troubles began 4 months ago: several times I can't complete a call with the answer "call ended", or the call ends after a time, or the incoming call go straight to voicemail without ringing. All with full signal bars. Sometimes it happens, sometimes everything is ok. I've been trying different roms and radios, without solution. The wifii, bluetooth, etc: always ok. I'm really dissapointed. I'd thank if somebody could give me an idea about it. I live in Argentina and here we don't have service for htc. Thank you very much.

[Q] HELP: incoming call PROBLEM on EnergyROM (energy 21916 based builds)

Hi all capable of helping me,
I have a serious problem with incoming calls on this ROM since mid November:
incoming call is ringing
after 1-2 rings (1-2 seconds) it ceases down and a missed call is created
in less than a second later, the original call rings again
if I try to pick it up (HW & SW button tried, no difference), it has no effect. I can pick up the call only in the second phase - after a missed call was created (usually successfull for 50%). The caller probably percieves it as a continuous ringing, but I always get 1 missed call and then a call, which I am able to pick up. some calls are unable to pick up as the caller hangs up prior I try to pick it up.
I tried to hard-reset, to use every newer EnergyROM byt NRGZ28 - no help. I even tried NOT to import settings after first run done by XDA UC. NO USE IN THAT. I did HSPL 2.51 in mid October, flashing EnergyROMs (Energy, 21916 based), Tess Prime F ROM and also latest StockROM - no help.. I am totally desperate and hopeless, as I use the device for company purposes...
any ideas what to do? Please help... THX
Kind regards
tlsty
*** SOLUTION
root cause was on the operator side. I requested the GSM services reset and aftewards it started to work normally.
Please close the thread. THX
